I really enjoy working out at Lifetime Medford! The energy here is always great, and everyone is super friendly. The front desk staff always greet me with a smile and actually say my name right.
I especially love the Pilates Reformer classes with Lindsay, Bernie, Brittany, and Jerrel (hope I’m not forgetting anyone!). They all bring such great vibes and make every class fun, challenging, and worth showing up for. The classes with Patricia and Valeria are no joke either — definitely tough but 100% worth every penny.
Overall, Lifetime Medford has such a welcoming atmosphere and makes it easy to stay motivated. Definitely my favorite place to work out!

I was excited to start a gym routine again after Covid and family difficulties. I found the initial training sessions were good, but to continue with them the suggestion was 2 times a week at $150/ session (do the math that’s $1200 per month). I told him I’d have to think about it and was snubbed the next day. Also, most daytime classes require additional fees. I’m giving 2 stars because there were several weekend classes that were good and didn’t require additional fees. I am canceling my membership since $200 plus per month is not worth it for maybe 2 classes. Big disappointment!

Joining the LifeTime gym in Medford has been a game changer for me over the past couple of years. I always feel great the minute I enter the facility--and leave feeling very healthy. Everyone is uniformly kind and friendly. Special shout outs to my trainer and dynamic stretch expert, Ben Milos; Aqua trainer Calvin; Ruth and Monique in the spa, Bernie for Pilates; and Cyler at the front desk. They are all extremely professional and fun to spend time with.

Worst experience I had in a gym with rude staff , yes the facility is clean but fitness trainer all about signing up for pricey sessions . Not all classes for workout included in pricey membership which I wish I was told up front . Fitness trainers need to work with people and listen to past injuries . Sore as hell from some posture stress test for days !

The members at this gym/club are ignorant, self-absorbed and love to take photos of themselves doing nothing. The members are allowed to work out directly in front of the free weights, so no one else can access the weights easily and the subpar Trainers do the same thing all the time. Beyond annoying. If you’re a gay male or part of the LGBTQIA+ community this gym is for you. The only reason I’m not giving this gym zero stars is the front desk people, Kate S and Jerrel were cool. A total waste of money.

I’ve been a member at Lifetime Fitness Medford since it opened in 2022, and it’s honestly one of the best gyms in the Boston area. Yes, it’s smaller than the Burlington, Peabody, and Westwood locations, but you have to remember, this gym is right in the city, so it’s designed to be more of an express-style club.
Even though it’s smaller, it has everything you need:
• Spotless locker rooms and bathrooms
• Super clean showers
• Machines constantly cleaned
• Amazing classes — GTX and Alpha are my favorites, but all are worth it!
One of the biggest perks is the location, the Orange Line at Wellington Station is right next door, which makes getting into downtown Boston fast and easy. This was a huge benefit for me when I was working in the city.
Yes, the membership is expensive, but you get what you pay for: premium facilities, a relaxing atmosphere, and even the option to work remotely from the gym.
A few tips:
• There’s no cold plunge at this location.
• Parking is in a nearby garage (free for the first 2.5 hours).
• If you want bigger amenities, Burlington, Peabody, or Westwood might suit you better, but for convenience, quality, and city access, Medford is perfect.
I’ve tried switching gyms to save money, but I always end up coming back. Nothing compares to the cleanliness, classes, and vibe at Lifetime.

Filthy. Unkept. Equipment not always operating. For 500$/no for me and wife, shouldn’t be like this. It’s not at other Life Times we frequent. So it’s poorly managed. Simple solution. Get a new manager. Bike with no pedal and filthy.

Absolutely love the LifeSpa at this location - Monique is the best for facials as well as lash lifts! Always come out glowing and feeling relaxed.

I absolutely love the Lifetime Spa in Medford! The space is always incredibly clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated, which makes every visit feel like a treat.
Monique, the esthetician, is truly amazing—she works absolute magic and is the perfect combination of professional and personable. Her facials are incredible and leave my skin feeling so refreshed and glowing. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for waxing, brow tints, or laminations—she always gets it just right!
I also really enjoy the wide array of high-quality products they offer. It’s the perfect finishing touch to an already fantastic experience. Highly recommend!

I signed up for Lifetime about 6 months ago and wish I signed up sooner. The staff is super nice- always saying hi or smiling when you enter the gym or see them around the facility. The spa experience has always been relaxing and especially helpful to my skin. I have gotten hydro facials with Monique that have given amazing results. All the instructors are top notch. They make the classes fun and are always there to motivate you! Highly recommend this gym!

I had high hopes for this gym, however, they consistently let me down. Some of the receptionists and cafe staff are rude. The cafe staff will refuse your cash payments. Gym is small, cramped. Barely any amenities for the price. Some machines are always closed for maintenance. Normatec rarely work. Women's locker room, showers, and sauna are gross. Save your time and money by going to another, any other, Lifetime.

Really poor experience with the trainer here. I recently joined this gym and the desk sold me a bunch of intro offers like a weight loss consultation. When I went in for the session, the trainer immediately started selling his personal training program for over $1000 per month. As soon as I said I would need to think about it, he completely lost interest and cut the one hour session short in like 15 minutes. If all you’re looking for is to work out yourself, the gym is decent. Everything else is only to upsell you to spend more money on top of the already premium money you’re spending.

If you are looking for a gym to work out this place is aces. I see a lot of discussion about basketball courts and splash pads. I am looking to work out this place is everything I need in a gym. The staff is awesome taking time to learn my name and using it when they see me. I went to the Burlington location for a while. Seems everyone is infatuated with. That location is great if you want to wait for equipment while Susie gets her snap chat going. If you’re someone who wants to lift and train this is the spot. If you want to sit at the pool and sip cocktails while the single moms drop their kids off at the pool this isn’t the place.

Great facility. The Medford location is a little crowded at times, making it hard to workout if you’re using machines. I love taking classes especially Yoga but the experience has been subpar. I’ve taken yoga classes for years and usually the music is relaxing and instrumental. Yoga classes here are as if you’re in a nightclub, with a mix of pop and rock music. Impossible to relax and concentrate on the breathing with that type of music. Some of the teachers are great, others just let you do whatever. For the price, I wish they had better classes that are focused on yoga practice and better music.

Overall great experience. Everyone is so welcoming compared to other lifetimes I have been to. The size is the only thing I am not a huge fan of, but it is a boutique lifetime so of course they have less amenities. The shakes from the Cafe are always surpassing my expectations, the fitness trainers are nice and professional, classes are enjoyable and all of the instructors and trainers appear to be top quality.

I usually go to other Lifetime locations, but decided to try this one today—and it really doesn’t compare to places like Peabody or Westwood. For the same price, it feels like a letdown. There’s no basketball court, the overall space is smaller, and while the facility looks okay at first glance, the men’s locker room smells awful—like an actual wet dog. That’s the closest thing I can compare it to. While showering, I looked up and noticed how dirty the vents were—same goes for the sauna. The locker room is also super cramped, so you’ll likely end up waiting just to access your own locker. Definitely not the experience I’ve come to expect from Lifetime. Cool garage parking though I will give it that but only 2 hour parking.

Very unreasonable fees for making changes to your membership. My partner was on my account and when I asked to remove her I was told it would take 30 days, it would be a prorated amount for the following month and I would be charged a fee on top of that for cancelling her membership. As soon as I find an alternative in the area with a nice pool I’ll cancel my membership too. Really ridiculous billing practices for how much you pay to go here; Ive been going to Life Time for years and they lost my business. This location is also a lot smaller and has less amenities than others.

Best commercial gym near Somerville that I’m aware of. The facilities and equipment are clean and high quality. The main downsides are:
- cost plus lack of amenities compared to other lifetime locations
- equipment access. There are “alpha” classes during the week that will use literally all the squat racks for an hour at a time. If you forget to check the class schedule you can end up waiting a long time to get a rack

This gym is DEFINITELY overpriced for what members who signed up for this gym have access to. Of course they say you can go anywhere with your membership, BUT folks join a particular gym for their convenient access to it. Also, the music blasts WAY TOO LOUD in the free weight and cardio machine area. Most folks are wearing their AirPods and it’s impossible to hear my podcast, audiobook or own music for the loud music playing through the speakers. I have asked several times why it can’t be adjusted and I’m always told that they don’t handle it. It’s handled off site. Well, I think the Medford location should tell the tech department that is offsite that the square footage of this place is half that or less than all the other gyms and therefore they need to adjust accordingly. If this gym is not going to expand and level up to meet that same amenities and services that the other clubs offer…I will be cancelling my membership because why pay the same amount as folks who have more access to a wider array of services, and amenities… yeah, I know my membership works at any location but I joined for convenience as one of the founding members before the gym opened thinking it would be the same or similar experience at other Life Time gyms. The only plus for me is no kids. I also hate that you have to pay for parking after so much time…and Life Time was no help when I lost my parking ticket and I got hit with a whopping bill when I was there less than 2 hours.

TL:DR – Gym is expensive AF! It’s a gym. Has workout equipment, a pool, locker rooms, treadmills. Can’t use your own locks on lockers. You’re just paying for the luxury brand name.
Bruh! There is no way in hell that I’ll spend over $200 of my hard-earned money, per month, on this gym.
So, I went on a weekend. Mind you I used to go to this location when it was a dirty BSC gym. I mean stained white walls, broken equipment, used-up mats, absent instructors you name it was bad. But it was all at a cost of around $50 per month with an annual cost of nearly $78 per year. Yeah, a two-fer!
No, I didn’t sign up for a membership! Again, I’m not spending over $200/mth just to pump up my biceps and show them off at Revere Beach. No. Instead I got a DAY PASS. And that cost me $50!
A day pass costs $50!!
So, hooooly the place has been renovated from the top-down and bottom-up. The aesthetics of the place was oozing with the words “Luxury Brand” all over. As soon as you come in the energy, or vibe, really welcomes you with open arms. Of course, because you know this place is expensive. Front desk people are friendly. Courteous. Casually dressed in business attire. Clean.
No stained dirty white walls. Instead, they had this rustic granite-type to them. Lighting was calm and smooth. Not too bright.
Locker rooms – let me tell ya – I’m not a fan of those smart locks. AT ALL. Sorry Life Time. I prefer to use my own Master combination lock. These smart locks are built into the lockers. You can’t use your own. You must select a four-digit combination and then lock it.
HERE’S MY RECOMMENDATION – Get in close to your chosen locker, quickly shuffle through the numbers, select your four digits, turn the lock, and then quickly reshuffle your lock to zero. You MUST remember your chosen digits and you MUST remember to shuffle your lock to zeroes or else your stuff gets stolen.
I mean, even though Life Time’s clientele consists mainly of wealthy retirees, trust fund babies, and sociopathic corporate executives, I still don’t trust the locker room area. And you shouldn’t either.
So, the makeup of the gym is –
FIRST FLOOR: Pool area and lockers
SECOND FLOOR: Treadmills and workout equipment
THIRD FLOOR: Studios
The treadmills are all the same. Although you’ll be running through a lot of sweat because neither of them has a built-in fan. There are two boxing bags hanging out in the middle of the floor. They also TOOK OUT THE BASKETBALL COURT!!! WHY?!?! Kind of lame, if you ask me. Instead, they filled the area with benches, squat racks, and Smith Machines.
At the far end of the floor, there are ONLY EIGHT SQUAT RACKS available. So, if you come during a busy time good luck finding one that’s empty. They are extremely popular!
The third floor, again, are nothing but studios with cycling and yoga involved. I don’t have the slightest clue about their classes – I didn’t bother joining one or asking about them.
There are towels available to use throughout the gym. Some are small and some are large. NO PAPER TOWELS. Also, I think the locker rooms have a sauna room. Also-also, right when you come in there’s a little area where you can order some smoothies and get some snacks. Life Time also offers their very own Whey Protein Isolate!
If you’re lucky and you’re a digital nomad, I HIGHLY recommend working out during the mid-morning, after 9am and early-afternoon, before 3pm. When I was there, a crowd began building after 4pm. I grew frustrated. I can’t imagine waiting to use a squat rack. Kind of lame if you ask me. Waiting to use an equipment. I hate waiting.
2.5 stars for the location and clean gym.
2.5 goose eggs for the exorbitant price!

If you can't floor plan to be close enough to what the advertisement says and or compared to NorthShore location then you should charge less for members and put them on a certain location only. For the price you pay here it makes Planet Fitness seem ok. I paid came in, no tour, no graciousness, I took myself around 2 floors and a seeting area with cute chairs and that's it. Sauna méh, bathroom stall tiles paper hanging off one side. Staff just hanging around. I mean yeah. I'll go to Peabody on my weekends but still debating canceling my membership.

I’ve never left a review before but I was super disappointed in this LifeTime.
I’ve been a member at other ones in the area which are great, but the Medford location is a serious discount version - but for the same price.
I use lifetime for Yoga, followed by sauna / steam and I am happy to pay the $200-250.
Lifetime in Medford has VERY limited yoga classes. There are a few days per week where they don’t have any yoga classes at all. Their classes are often waitlisted because there are so few given the amount of members they have.
The locker rooms do not have a steam room or jacuzzi which other clubs do. Because they only have the sauna, it’s always packed. The sauna, shower, locker room, and bathroom is significantly smaller than other clubs.
Overall, the club is clean and the equipment is great, don’t get me wrong, but if you’re joining because of the LifeTime name and luxury experience, this club does not deliver. I ended up cancelling my membership and joining Equinox.

As someone who lives in the city, I was excited when they opened this location because boston needed a lifetime on this side of the city, but they could have done a better job. Everything about this location is smaller and fewer than all the other MA locations, so you’re not really getting your full money’s worth, but it’s a good thing the basic lifetime membership gives you full state access.
There are fewer cardio equipment and gym machines but it’s kept clean and service is friendly!
The women’s locker room is sooo unbelievably small and only has a sauna - no steam room or jaccuzi like all the other locations.
The cafe doesn’t have any chairs for you to sit at, but are located in the lobby area as high countertop chairs.
Pool also doesn’t have a jacuzzi or a kid’s pool like the other gyms.
I think to get a good workout, it does its job. But I think I’ll stick with the Chestnut Hill location for now even though it’s a bit longer of a commute.

This life time is definitely smaller than others, so it doesn’t have as many amenities. It does have a pool, sauna, and all the basic workout and lifting equipment. I do think it can feel too overcrowded at peak times and with the limited number of adjustable benches, only 8 squat racks/deadlift platforms, and 3 bench press stations, it can be busy. But the staff are very friendly and accommodating, open to feedback, and the group classes have been awesome! I’ve been going to alpha conditioning with Laura, and she’s a great coach with a dynamic and challenging class. I’d recommend it to anyone.
I do like that this location also has a spa and cafe, and I think once the demographic is a little more known, there is definitely room for accommodations and more equipment to be added in the future. The location can’t be beat as well. It’s right off the T stop, and close to the city. For someone like me who doesn’t have a car and wants access to the things lifetime offers, the location was a huge selling point for me. Overall, good, but with a lot of room for improvement mostly on increasing the type and quantity of free weight equipment.

Was very excited for this new gym opening in Medford for quite a long time. However, it was very sad and disappointing to see what this gym had to offer at $220/month. Its basically the same old BSC that used to be in that space with just new equipment and a new locker. How do lifetime justify charging that amount for a space that is so poorly planned/executed/cramped and with no other facility such as jacuzzi/steam/ice bath etc. The one sauna they added is small/cramped and packed all the time. smh I thought I was being picky after using the gym for a few days before cancelling it, but reading other similar reviews I'm glad to see most people feel the same. Had very high expectation from lifetime. Some Y's have better location than this gym.

Way too small for the price they charge, will be canceling which is unfortunate. The whole 1st floor is a waste of space considering how cramped it is once you get to the fitness floor, the pool (that nobody uses), takes up half of the 1st floor space. Locker room gets really cramped if 3 people are in the same section, and sauna can fit up 5 people comfortably. They should consider redesigning the 1st and 2nd floor plans.

Not too busy, staff are welcoming and polite, very clean and the lap pool is nice.

It is clean and brand new but it is small and missing a lot of amenities such as steam spa and jacuzzi, it is not fair that members of other locations enjoy more amenities and space compared to Medford location for the same price . Also, some of the staff need training on how to use some of the machines and welcoming members when they walk in.

As a longtime lifetime member, I gave it a shot for over a week but honestly not worth 220 a month. Compared to the lifetime in Peabody, this place has no jacuzzi, no steam room, no ice bath, no massage chairs, no ceiling showers, no basketball court, shorter hours, no food to order at the cafe besides the protein snack balls & muffins, and you get charged like $3-$6 for using their parking lot for 2.5 hours. Convenient location, but the Peabody location even has more weightlifting machines, so I don’t understand how this one has the audacity to charge the same prices.

Worst location of them all should be no stars. Very small and cramped In weight room. no steam in locker room, no hot tub, no cold plunge. One line of dumbbells so if you need the heavy ones and there is no bench you have to walk far with them. This location should be cheaper than other locations. “Alpha training” takes up every squat rack and think they own the gym, very poor.

Seems strange to price this location as the same price as other locations which not only have longer open hours but also have more amenities.
