I’ve been training with Curtis since before he opened LifeTechs, and he’s as good as it gets. His programming is always evolving…challenging, interesting, and tailored to where you’re at. He knows how to make smart modifications when needed (some days you’re just not feeling it) and no matter how busy life gets with work, travel, or family, we always find a way to make it happen.
The gym itself is awesome…clean, well-equipped, and full of great energy. Jess and the rest of the LifeTechs team are top-notch trainers and genuinely fun to be around. It’s truly a gem tucked inside Wayland Town Center.

I’ve been part of Life Tech for 3 years now, and the atmosphere is always top-notch, clean, welcoming, and well-equipped! The whole coaching team is amazing! Coach Curtis and Coach Jess have been in my corner since day one, and I’m lucky to call them friends as well as coaches.
Lately, I’ve had the chance to train with Coach Hakeem, and he’s been incredible! As a veteran member, I was cautious at first, but he quickly earned my trust. I’ve been dealing with back pain on and off, and with his guidance, and patience, I’ve made it three months pain-free while still lifting strong. He’s knowledgeable, motivating, and really personalizes each session.
I highly recommend Coach Hakeem and the whole Life Tech team!

I never thought that I would go to a personal trainer, but Curtis came highly recommended from a friend. I am fighting my way back from a bunch of injuries and both wanted somebody to guide me, but was also worried that a personal trainer wouldn't listen to my needs.
Working with Curtis has been amazing! We started with a phone consultation, then an in person assessment. He noticed things about how my joints worked that were definitely true, but I hadn't thought to communicate. He took all that information and built me a program to address my needs and my goals.
With my injuries, I didn't want to be pushed in an aggressive way. I have been making amazing strides while being at the edge of my comfort zone, not outside of it. When I am doing an exercise that works one of my injured areas, Curtis is laser-focused on my form and making sure that I am working towards healing, not damaging.
As far as the atmosphere at LifeTechs, it is warm and supportive. Even though I work with Curtis, Jess has jumped in to answer questions. The other clients are friendly, and there isn't anything intimidating about the place. The space is clean, well furnished, and attractive. It feels like a great place to be with great people. And, of course, get fit at the same time!

Curtis and Jess are simply the best and a great team. If you’re interested in getting (back) into shape, but aren’t sure where to start or how to motivate yourself, do yourself a favor and call them. The experience is transformative. That is not an exaggeration.
This isn’t your average open gym. It’s 1:1 or small group sessions only, and that’s because they pay close attention to every detail. The feedback is constant and constructive, if you want it - they’re room readers and flexible, so they’ll probably figure out what you want and need before you even feel like you want to tell them. There aren’t people hogging weights or influencers posting. This is a place to work. You have the entire place to yourself for your session. It’s absurdly clean and well organized. It’s awesome.
So what are you getting? What is different? There are plenty of good trainers and good people. This is a lot more. You’re getting specific, data based training programs that are designed to work for you by fitness designers. Whether 1 day a week, more or less, you’re getting their experience and attention (both of which are substantial). There is no guessing. When you ask questions they have thoughtful answers. You feel like you’re their client and they are fully committed to their clients.
Is it expensive? Yep, but not anymore so than other top tier trainers (and they’re both individually better than other top tier trainers, and together…sheesh). You get what you pay for. Before I started with them I was in a bad place physically. Overweight and more importantly feeling awful. Slovenly, bloated, low energy and just generally bad. After less than 3 months I feel not only entirely better but actually good. Great even. Worth every penny and more.
I unfortunately have a career that has periods of very little sleep and a lot of stress. I went through a 3 week period like that while working with Curtis and Jess and unlike the countless times I’d done it before, it was more than tolerable. Sure, still tired. Nothing but sleep cures that. But my stress was much lower, my energy was higher and I didn’t hit walls physically and mentally that I have in the past. They also didn’t make me feel like I was being bad or not following their program because I wasn’t sleeping. I can’t tell you how frustrating it is to be told I need to sleep more. I get it, I really do. So do they. Instead of scolding me they just worked with the energy I had, met me where I was at each time, and it was great. Really great.
It’s also really fun. The vibe is relaxed. They aren’t drill sergeants (despite my jokes to the contrary). Instead they’re attentive. As I said, room readers. They meet you where you are. It’s pretty awesome.

I joined Life Techs a month ago and i can honestly say that I have never been more impressed with a personal trainer. Curtis did an initial assessment on me and developed a thoughtful and detailed plan on how to strengthen the muscles around my knee… Reduce pain and at the same working my entire body. I am already down 4 pounds feel stronger and happier. I also love jess’s group classes. They are challenging but at the same time Jess and curtis have come up
With a plan to tweak any exercise that would irritate the knee and keep me safe and strong . Im so happy i found LIFE TECHS and recommend to anyone !

I am long overdue for this review. The TLDR is Curtis and his team of personal trainers in Wayland, MA are simply life altering. Don’t think, just do. Go work with them and see.
The TL (too long):
I cannot for one second, imagine in some way not continuing to work with Curtis every single week for as long as we both breathe. He, and Life Techs, are now an integral part of my inner circle, keeping me healthy and on the right path to my best strength and longevity (even when I try to undermine that with poor diet and sleep choices).
When I first came to Curtis for help, it was at the end of 2021. I was the weakest I had ever been in my life. I was unsteady going up and down stairs, I was grief-ridden, and I was putting way too much bad food and drink into my body to escape.
I sought out Curtis as a recommendation from two dear friends of mine. I knew I needed to take action, and after the first few sessions, it was crystal clear that investing in Curtis as a coach and accountability partner was going to pay the physical, intellectual, and emotional gains I needed.
I’m the stubborn sort. Yet Curtis went out of his way to meet me where I was at, accepting with grace whatever I could or could not bring in that moment. Never was he negative or critical. Questioning, yes. Call me out when the BS was too deep, absolutely. He deeply cares about your wellness. I see this extended to everyone he coaches, his colleagues, his friends, and his family.
Now, I’m still probably not doing what he’d like to see me doing, but 3+ years in, I am significantly stronger, healthier, and fit. No more weakness. No more wobbly. Balance is stable, and I even have a wee bit of definition.
I’ve started learning the basics of Olympic lifting from Curtis, and this has leveled up my respect for his depth of knowledge about body mechanics, movement, range of motion, and how to feed and care for your body through it all.
If you’d ever told me I’d be interested in learning to lift heavy things over my head, I would have laughed out loud at you, even just a couple of years ago. It’s still mind boggling to me that Curtis has literally coached me to a physical confidence to try something that I did not know could exist in my world, at my age.
You will not find better partners than Curtis and Jess to help you live your best, healthiest life. They’ve created a fantastic community at their gym in Wayland. They will meet you where you are, and when you are ready, they will help take you further than you every thought you could go.

Nothing but positive things to write about Life Techs in Wayland, MA! Strength training was new to me and I’ve had a wonderful experience training at the Life Techs studio, where I’ve been able to participate in small, semi-private group sessions with personalized workout plans. Curtis (owner/trainer) and Jess (trainer) customize the small group workouts to fit my strengths and goals and they help me refine my routine to help me improve. Jess and Curtis are incredibly supportive, often offering suggestions to improve my form and encouraging me to push myself further. Their monthly check-ins are great for tracking progress, and they keep a close eye on my workouts to make sure I’m constantly improving and meeting my goals.
The program also offers quite a variety with each visit. The small group sessions have different daily workouts that repeat weekly, and then the overall program and exercises shift every few weeks to keep things fresh and challenging. This helps to keep me engaged while introducing new strength-building exercises that push me outside my comfort zone.

I have been working with coach Jess for 2 years now and it has been the best experience, and best life decision I have made. Jess is hands on and supportive during training sessions, and with check ins outside of the gym! She has helped me fix my form, starting out with basic moves to make sure I have the correct foundation and knowledge before working my way up in weight. If there is a part of the program that I struggle with, Jess provides modifications that target the same muscle so I am still working at my own pace and limits! In the past I have struggled with nutrition and my thoughts around eating healthy, working with Jess and Curtis I have found what works for me and embraced my meals instead of fearing food. Love training with Curtis and the crew! We joined when the gym was in a much smaller space and love seeing the growth in the brand and trainers. I had some bad experience in the past with trainers (one in particular asked me to deadlift on day 1, with no education or prep...).
The crew at LifeTechs was not like that, they sat with my wife and I, listened to our goals and helped us formulate an actionable plan without any of the fluff and upsell many trainers try to push.

The team at Lifetechs is fantastic. I started working out with Curtis in a park during the pandemic. I had a bad shoulder, lower back pain, and I was convinced there were just some exercises and activities that my then 51-year old self wasn't going to be able to do. 3 years later my wife and I train at Lifetechs weekly. My core strength is massively improved. I’ve been able to add shoulder and back exercises as the training has helped build overall functional strength. My back feels better today than it has for the last 2 decades. One of the things that made working with Lifetechs a pleasure is how well the coaches listened to our specific needs and goals and adapted our fitness programs. We have workouts set up for our needs in an app we can use at home, and the team will respond to questions in between coaching sessions as needed with check-ins on our progress. Give them a try!

Curtis Williams is very knowledgeable regarding weight management. He provided insight into the best testing for hormones since I am going through menopause.
