Amazing team and great gym!! I have never been in a gym for a few years and I wanted to improve my mobility and athletics capacity to be able to have a longer fuller life doing the physical actives I love, like volleyball, rugby, and keeping up with my niece and nephews. They ensure the programming is unique and flexible to you— life happens and they are understanding to alter the program or your schedule to whatever fits best your needs. They help me stay consistent and do a great job on equipment training. I've known Joe and AB for over 14 years now in the capacity of conditioning coaches and also proudly call them caring friends. From a gym and conditioning perspective, the experience with them is top notch! It's very personalized and tailored to what your current challenges are, and they adapt with you as your needs change. If you are older like I am, I'm 55, and experience either new difficulties in your body or even common injuries that many of us experience (for me I had a shoulder issue just due to years of improper use probably, and knee/thigh/ankles issues from old sports injuries) they are EXCELLENT at listening to what your body is feeling, testing a few key things and then adapting a workout plan to not only help you with your fitness goals but also to address some deeper issues to help those injuries start to heal and strengthen so that they are less likely to re-occur. From a workout perspective I get a variety of new and different, and I would say wholistic exercises that are interesting, not repetitive and challenging in a fashion that allow me to scale to any degree I wish.

Now, to be just a little personal and sappy... in late 2016 I was diagnosed with a very serious cancer situation. Joe showed me care and deep kindness by just encouraging me to come to the gym and just move with simple exercises, to get my blood flowing and body moving and see some people. He was always introducing me to something new that he felt would help me. One of those things was the mediation App, Headspace. I still use it to this day and credit the learning and development of a meditation habit as one of the factors that now has me 6+ years cancer free! Joe and AB are VERY caring people that have your best interest at heart and will meet you where you are at to make a difference in your physical fitness. If you want a personal coaching experience in the Merrimack Valley, this is it!

I started at Mass Strength and Conditioning in late June and all I can say is that I am kicking myself for not starting earlier. I started a weight loss journey back in February and was able to loose 40lbs before coming in to work with Joe and Alessandra. However since starting at Mass Strength and Conditioning, I've further lost over 10lbs and gained almost the same in muscle. The body re-compositioning is in full swing! The programs that Joe and Alessandra create keep you engaged and working hard towards your goals. They are easy to follow and are certainly providing the necessary stimulus to make improvements. All of my questions are always answered with substantial background information. Not only they will help you create a high quality individualized program that meets your needs, but they will also keep you accountable to your goals. I remembered my first week as the coaches sent me a daily text message to ensure I was attending my scheduled 1:1 intro sessions. They promote a safety culture above all. There is always a coach on the floor to ensure you are doing things correctly and safely. My absolute favorite thing is that my workouts are populated in the app: I can review historial workouts, watch videos explaining how I need to execute my exercises, and plan ahead! Hands down one of the best gyms I’ve gone to and I’ve been to a handful across the country.

When you have your first consultation, the coaches are able to get a clear understanding of what your goals are to be able to tailor a plan that best fits you. This is not a one size fits all type of gym, it’s an all fitness levels inclusive type of gym.

You will never feel out of place or ignored by the coaches at this gym. They don’t give you a workout and leave you alone. The coaches make sure you’re lifting/executing the exercise properly so you don’t hurt yourself.

While yes it is slightly pricier than your traditional gym what you get with the membership makes it worth the cost. You get a tailored workout plan to fit your needs (not the needs of everyone else), a support system from the coaches, access to the gym, and nutrition advice should you want it.

If I could give the gym 10 stars I would. My experience has been everything positive. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. I like the individual programs designed specifically for me and my goals. A year ago I had an injury from a fall on my road bike and Joe and Alessandra helped me through my recovery. They modified my entire workout until I was fully recovered. I never would have recovered as quick and thoroughly if it hadn’t been for them. Joe, Alessandra and the coaching staff more than know their stuff. While it might seem pricey, they bring a whole-life perspective to fitness that you will not find anywhere else.
