I have been going to MB for 7 years now, and through that time I have dealt with some serious injury’s. But I am lucky enough to say that I am now playing football at the collegiate level. I can confidently say that MB has elevated me as an athlete time and time again, Matt continuously makes me push past my limits. The competition and the environment is not like any ordinary gym, everyone at MB is trying to make it to that next level. Whether that’s middle school-Highschool-college-pro, everyone comes in ready to compete day in, days out!!

MB is Cain’s “home away from home” ("home" being Daniel Gracie Academy). Matt and Steve over the last year have welcomed him and crafted programs to address his unique training needs for grappling/Jiu Jitsu and mixed martial arts. It is generally advisable that fathers not coach their sons. MB Performance allows me to rely on their experience and expertise to essentially “outsource” the responsibility of designing strength and conditioning programs for Cain. Training at MB is also a perfect compliment to his homeschool curriculum.
MB is not a meathead gym that’s going to try to get your youth athlete yoked-up like a bodybuilder or risk injury by not evaluating their ability. MB’s goal is to not just train them for their specific sport. They teach them to be ATHLETIC, with emphasis on functional strength, agility & mobility. MB also incorporates joint preservation and active recovery. Your child will not likely be exposed to this type of approach until they reach the collegiate level and 100% won’t get this with their buddies/peers goofing around at Planet Fitness (furthermore I am not aware of many middle schools with weight rooms). MB offers the perfect mix of supervision and independence, critical for youth athletes. Gains and progress are continuously monitored and assessed, providing valuable metrics.
Cain’s Jiu Jitsu instructor and adult training-partners have all remarked on his physical development and increased strength this past year. I am aware some of this is biological. However, I am confident its been enhanced by training at MB. We are planning on having our youngest, Cash 9yrs (football and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) start training there consistently this Summer.

I have been working out at MB since the spring of eighth grade. When I started, I struggled with strength, speed, and most of all controlling my movement. Now, going into my sophomore year of football I have become significantly bigger, stronger, faster, and more coordinated. The work I've done with Matt has pushed me to my limits and formed me into a better athlete than I thought possible. I highly recommend MB to all athletes, especially to those hoping to play their sport at the next level.

I’ve been going to mb for about 1 year now and I have noticed significant strength gains and speed gains. My 40 has decreased by .7 seconds, and all my lifts have gone up by 60+ pounds. I’ve also noticed changes in my athleticism. I’m quicker off the ball, my vertical and broad jump have increased. This gym is great for young athletes that want to have a better chance at playing in the next level

I was under the impression that Matt could increase the performance of my automobile. I entered his facility and immediately realized I was not in a tuner shop, but instead saw the fitness equipment and suddenly realized I had made a mistake and decided not to confront my life choices. Nice dude though.

Our son has been a GK in the US Soccer Developmental System for three years now and began training with Coach/ Trainer Matt over the last five months. Since he began training with Coach Matt, we have noticed a significant all around improvement with our sons performance both mentally and physically. Without question our son is playing at an extremely high level due to the coaching and mentoring of Coach Matt!!! For any athlete that wants to put the work in and see it payoff, Coach Matt is the answer!!

My 14 yr old daughter spent two months of the summer (twice a week) conditioning with Matt one on one. He tailored a work out program for her knowing she would be attending a national camp with her club soccer team in early August and trying out for high school soccer at the end of August. After the national camp where they worked the players from 8am to 8pm for four days she said on the ride home, 'Matt made me stronger physically and in my head."
As for high school she made the Varsity team as a freshman and did not mind the 100 yd sprint challenges because she did them all summer behind the MBP building. Matt taught our daughter unique skills that gave her confidence and an in some areas an edge over other teammates. She has become more disciplined on and off the field since spending time with Matt this summer. She has already asked to go back over school vacations!!
What also impressed me about Matt is that he practices what he preaches. At times I have seen him personally working out which sets a great example for his clients. To find a personal trainer that can teach both technical skills and mental fortitude in a balanced manner is not easy. We found both in Matt.

Matt has exceeded our expectations! Our young teen has high functioning autism and Matt and his team kept our son motivated, enthusiastic and very productive. MBPI is one of the best places you will go to for personal training and workouts. Matt (the head trainer) is always there custom building workouts specifically for strengthening and improving specific parts of your body. MBPI will challenge you and give you results quickly. I personally have became much more agile, faster, and in better shape than ever before because of Matt. Matt is a great guy to work with, always pushing you to your best and provides a great atmosphere when working out with his positive attitude. Overall I would definitely recommend coming here to get your workout! 👍

I began training with Matt and his staff at the beginning of the summer going into my senior year of high school at Silver Lake Regional. Eager to physically and mentally grow as an athlete, I quickly picked up on the movements and concepts being taught to me along with the science behind them; Matt’s character and charisma are what made this come to me so easily. Getting into my season, I immediately saw how the experience I was having at MBPI was translating to my sport. As a horizontal jumper and sprinter, the emphasis on speed, power, control, efficiency, and injury prevention helped me go from “just another track athlete” to a premiere performer my region of the country. I rose to the top of the ranks in 3 events in the state of Massachusetts. Through these results, I was recruited to join the roster of the team at Division 1 High Point University in North Carolina.
Not only does this facility cater to active athletes of every sport, but it also caters to injured athletes as well. Suffering a groin pull at the end of the winter, Matt and I worked to rehabilitate and restabilize my body after this. Coming back in the late spring, I ended up making it to the state championship in the long jump. Continuing to work throughout that summer, I left for my freshman year of college in August. As soon as preseason began, I saw how his coaching and mentorship had impacted me. The movements and program in the weight room came naturally to me, as well as I was coachable and understood my coach’s concepts.
MB Performance Institute is the premiere athletic training facility in the region. Not only is the equipment the most advanced one can find on the market, but also the training environment and Matt’s character aid in this statement. The environment within the walls of MBPI is one that inspires and values hard work, team work, and growth, among others. Over time, great physical and mental changes to myself have become apparent. I see a better version of myself in the mirror, along with a “can do” attitude and practice new ways of thinking due to the viewpoints and knowledge from other athletes. Matt is not only a coach, but a mentor and friend as well. He has a relationship with every person that steps through his door and works to develop every individual to their best form.
To any person looking to better themselves in athleticism or life, and to any parent looking for an environment that offers an inspiring and supportive, yet safe and fun environment for their child to enjoy and become better in their sport, look no further than MB Performance Institute.

I have been training with Matt since 2015 and I have made tremendous developments physically and mentally. I've been training with Matt personally for more than 4 years now and he is hands down the best around. After trying and failing to find a good trainer at many different top notch facilities, I got lucky with finding MB performance. Matt helped push me to the next level and gave me a shot to play DII football and compete. I highly recommend MB performance to younger kids as well as high school kids looking to get an edge on the competition. I've been working with Matt for this summer and have been nothing but thrilled with the facilities and services he has provided. In the past 3 months I have seen my numbers in all 4 olympic lifts increase tremendously.
