I've been with MBSC for over six years and have hit all of my fitness goals and then some with the coaches here! The Woburn facility is also a well-loved, state-of-the-art building, with Olympic- and professional-level athletes training here alongside regulars like my group and me.
Coach Cam McGhee has especially been a breeze to work with, since he helps me manage my program based on where my body and mind are while sticking to the long-term outcomes. We've worked out individually or as a group of friends and family and Cam never fails to accommodate everyone in the group. In fact, we bring in out of town visitors just so they can get the MBSC experience with Cam!
I'm looking forward to what the next five years will bring!

I started going to MBSC when I was in middle school and now I'm in grad school. I workout in the adult group with my mom and we have so much fun. I have had many coaches and they are all amazing. I love Megan because she is so encouraging and nice. She also does chin-ups with me to help motivate me! Steve is good too.

Megan Lynch is the best coach i have ever had. She is so welcoming and i have never felt more at home than when i do when i am in her group. She has boosted my confidence so much and allowed me to get stronger and reach goals i never thought i would ever hit. Megan is not just a coach but a friend and i never walked out of the gym without a smile on my face. I would recommend anyone to get coached by megan because it is such a positive experience like no other. No coach will ever match megan’s love for others or incredible coaching skills. I've been a member of Boyles Strength Training for some time now, training five days a week with a trainer. I can honestly say it's the best gym I've been to and the best trainers out there.
It may be a little intimidating at first if you are not used to going to a gym, but you’ll quickly realize that the owner, Mike Boyle, has created a very positive and respectful culture for clients and employees that you sense as you walk in the door and is clearly upheld. Take a look at the culture poster on the wall - its not just words. The staff are always courteous, friendly and helpful. It's apparent that they like one another and enjoy working there.
Mike has a training philosophy that I like, and that resonates with me. Mike and the entire Boyles team have an individual client-centric approach to building strength, agility, and mobility for everyone - whatever a client's age or initial ability. Their approach will help you get the most out of life while helping you age well.
I work with Cameron. Cam is an excellent personal trainer and, all around, just a great person with a positive outlook on life. He is extremely knowledgeable and patient but willing to push you hard to get the results you want. He has a great understanding of the human body and how to train it effectively.
I highly recommend Boyles Strength Training to anyone looking for a great gym with a positive and supportive atmosphere. You won't be disappointed!

I’ve really enjoyed the Adult program at Mike Boyles. I’ve always liked cardio but after 2 years of doing strength & conditioning classes at Boyles, I’m happy to say that I like push ups, have seen continued progress in weight training, & thanks to great coaching & inspiration from Megan, I’ve worked my way up to body weight chin ups! The workouts are designed to help you stay fit & healthy as we get older & I’ve become a stronger cyclist & have gained distance in my golf game as a result!

MBSC runs an excellent program for young athletes. While the kids work out in groups, they also receive individual coaching to ensure proper technique. My daughter and son have both made significant gains being coached by Megan Lynch in the middle school group. Megan brings great energy to the workouts and makes it fun for the kids... definitely a lot of smiles between sets! The office staff, Carrie and Kat, are approachable and helpful. Everyone seems to enjoy being there, and you can tell that the entire MBSC team really cares about the kids.

I visit Boston from upstate New York fairly often. I work out at MBSC with Cam McGhee. I am 68 years old and I find that Cam gives me an extremely well workout that I have benefited from greatly. It is a great facility,atmosphere and trainers are very knowledgeable and great to work with. My physical and core strength has greatly improved because of the training.

This has been an amazing experience for my 2 boys! They have learned so much, and they look forward to each and every workout! MBSC is an amazing gym. I have had chronic knee pain for a lot of my life, and so I restricted myself from exercise because of the pain. I didn’t move my body at all for an extremely long time, but then i started to go to MBSC. My personal trainer Jess, is incredible. She has such a great understanding of the human body but not only that, prioritizes my comfort. I was nervous for a while when I started working with her to tell her that and excersize we were doing was bothering my knee, but she’s always so adaptive. She always finds another excersize that works the same muscles but doesn’t have me in pain. It is also evident that all of the staff there truly enjoy their jobs - always joking around with eachother, saying hi to eachother, and saying hi how are you to me even if i have no idea who they are. It is a very very positive excersize environment where everybody is encouraged to do their personal best, and it’s never a competition.

I have been working with Lauren for more than year through a program where she comes to my office building. She is warm, friendly, and very encouraging. I have attended the adult conditioning group going on 2 years. While participating in the 3 day a week program I shed up to 30 lbs, am running again and movement from head to toe is incredible. The trainers, interns, and supporting staff are fantastic specifically jess and megan whom i have trained with throughout my time here. Not only are they great and knowledgeable at what they do, they are equally great people, their attention to your needs and level of detail are second to none. Once here you not only work out, you also socialize among friends. I would recommend this program to anyone of any age or condition. I attend the 5:45am adult functional training class with Nico. I started going to Boyle after chronic back problems put me in the hospital, and no physical therapy seemed to be helping. Nico worked with me to correct the muscle imbalances that were causing my back issues. Been almost a year since I've started and no back problems since, plus I've never felt stronger! You won't find a better, safer, and more knowledgeable fitness operation than MBSC...best of the best.

I have been at this gym for quite some time. I needed strength training on my knees to prepare for an operation. This team is so knowledgeable and dedicated. They take the team approach while putting a program together. Each person monitors separately. I was under full-time training with Jess, who is not only knowledgeable but took a step-by-step approach while consulting with other team members. She is also very caring and dedicated, constantly checking in on the progress even outside of training hours. I cannot recommend MBSC in Middleton highly enough! My wife and I joined the adult classes to train for a bucket list backpacking trip but have stayed for the quality coaching, thoughtful programming, and wonderful community. Not only am I stronger, I’ve noticed an improvement in flexibility, stability, and coordination. Every coach I’ve had the pleasure of working with has been incredibly knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and attentive. Nico, Ross, Annie, and Aiden have each helped adapt the workouts to my body’s unique needs and as a result I’ve been able to train around some lingering injuries and make progress I wasn’t sure was possible before I started training here. My only regret is not having joined sooner!

I’ve been working out ay Boyle’s for nearly a year. Boyles provides an excellent workout experience. The classes have a good balance of activation and strength training. The exercises manage to include a lot of core strengthening even when that’s not the primary focus.
There’s enough trainer capacity to provide a personalized workout when needed. I’ve worked out with mostly with Alex, Sue, and Joe. All have been invested in my progress and make the sessions enjoyable.
I was skeptical about training with a group, but I find that the set up of this gym allows for each person to have equipment and space to go at his/her own pace. I don’t have to wait on equipment, and I’m active for the full hour. Very good use of time.

Walking into MBSC feels like coming home. Starting with the warm welcome from Carrie at the front desk to all the hellos from the coaches and owners who seem genuinely happy to see you, it is a place where athletes, non-athletes and those somewhere in the middle, can work out side by side and feel they belong.
I am extremely fortunate to work with Jess Tollman, coach extraordinaire! I started training late in life and it was the best thing I have ever done for myself. Not only am I gaining strength but I am feeling more stamina in a range of physical activities: from kayaking to golf, bicycling to hiking. Jess has designed a program for me that is challenging, achievable and varied enough to always keep it interesting. She is tremendously encouraging, knowledgeable and tuned into the details of what my body needs. Her commitment to the field of fitness and health is also amazing. She is constantly improving her coaching ability through self-study and attending workshops; she incorporates new ideas along with the latest research into our work together. Although it’s a lot of hard work, the hours with Jess fly by and I feel stronger and healthier now than I ever have in my life. Thanks Jess and MBSC!

I have been a "regular" at MBSC for roughly 10 years. I can unequivocally assure you Boyle's is anything but regular! Yes, the space is exceptional.....large, immaculately clean, well lit, ample parking and filled with state of the art equipment. However, it is the human factor that cannot be replicated. From Mike Boyle on down, every person at this facility is an absolute gem of a human being. All the trainers and staff are incredibly committed to their vocation and craft of training every members body, mind and spirit! This does not happen by accident. I see the incredible commitment that Mike and his senior people, Kevin, Steve, Vinny and Dan put into the formal training of the entire staff at MBSC. I have been working out with the same group of woman for the last 7-8 years and it has become an absolutely essential part of my life. Vinny Talluto is our current trainer and their is not a session that he does not bring positive energy and high motivation to all 60 minutes of the hour we spend together. We sweat, we complain, we laugh and we bond over this shared and unique experience. Our minds, bodies and spirits are lifted by Vinny every day. I have been going to Boyles for personal strength training for several years, with a brief hiatus for a portion of Covid. My current trainer is Courtney Moulton, but I have worked with four or five different people, and my experience with them has been of equal high quality. I am now 66, and all of the trainers have been reasonable in their approach. They challenge me, without allowing me to hurt myself. Also, the different trainers communicate well with one another, as well as members of the physical therapy staff which have offices there as well.
It is a very friendly environment. I am always greeted by every trainer that I encounter with a smile and a fist bump. It could not be more welcoming, as opposed to what I have sometimes experienced in weightlifting gyms where steroidal freaks can be intimidating to we “90 pound weaklings“.
There are clients of all ages at the facility. A lot of school sports training, a lot of kid and adult group, as well as individualized personal training.
I have been strength training for more than 20 years, at various facilities in and around the Boston area. The facilities at Boyles are far and away the best I have seen. The space is enormous, and has all of the free-weight, machine, and aerobic equipment you could want or need. The equipment is always an excellent repair, with any out of orders addressed quickly.
Especially in light of the quality of the facilities, the prices are reasonable.
My only small complaint is that I can’t use the facilities except when I am training. It is a training gym. Not a substitute for a health club. But that is what it is.

I have participated in Adult Functional Training at MBSC in Woburn for many years. For the past 3 years, I have been training via MBSC's Live Online Train at Home program. For anyone wanting a remote workout option, MBSC cannot be beat. I have had 3 trainers - Dan McGinley, Jess Tollman, and Lauren Martuscello. I can't say enough good things about MBSC. Mike has been a leader in the field for decades and his staff is incredibly knowledgable and well-trained. They do an amazing job of keeping up with the newest techniques and are constantly applying the best ideas to their programs. Their superpower, however, is how they adapt every training session to meet you where you are. They train teenagers, college athletes, pros and adults into their 70s and you can see how they adjust what they teach to help the trainees improve (and this is key) without getting injured. I have gone there for over ten years and sent my kids there when they were in their early teens. The young adult programs provided huge benefits as my kids learned how to train correctly and to take care of their growing bodies. As an aside, they started offering Zoom workouts during COVID and tailored the programs specifically for people without a big gym setup (great for those who travel regularly or can't get to the gym). A special shout out to Dan, Jess and Lauren who are incredibly smart, curious and caring and remarkably good at what they do. We are truly lucky to have them and a place like this nearby.

I've been training at Boyles in Woburn for the last year and a half and am so happy with my progress. I feel much stronger and more energetic. The trainers at Boyles are great. As a woman in my 60's I have a few pre-existing injuries and Joe is great at helping me modify my workout. He and the other trainers are true experts and I feel safe in their hands even though I have some limitations. At other gyms where the workouts were more "one-size-fits-all" I sometimes exacerbated my back issues. And, as someone who used to dread working out, I now prioritize getting to my adult training classes. Boyles functional training approach is all about keeping you fit and doing the things you love to do. There are a full range of ages, shapes and sizes working out there and the focus is on health, not looks. I cannot recommend them more strongly.

My first encounter with MBSC was through my son, who would participate in post-season strength and conditioning. Initially believing MBSC was just for athletes, I soon realized through word-of-mouth and its IG posts that MBSC also targets an adult population through group and personal training. Admittedly, I was intimidated but after the first two sessions, I quickly realized it was the best decision I've made on my fitness journey, which has been a 20+ year roller coaster. It's an amazingly welcoming environment - everyone from coaches and staff to clients - with an incredibly knowledgeable group of coaches who wholeheartedly care about their clients. What I also love is the ongoing professional development the coaches participate in - they are always learning to stay on top of their game.
