When I moved to Somerville/Charlestown a few years ago, finding a gym I loved was my top priority. I ended up trialing 1 week at 4 gyms, and Monument was the gym I ended up picking, and I’m thrilled I did.

I like hybrid fitness style gyms. Some days I want a coach to tell me what to do, so I can be in and out in under an hour. Some days I want to do my own thing. Some days I want to squat, bench, Olympic lift, CrossFit, and even some days I want to run and do at least 1 burpee. This gym has it all.

The coaching staff and owners have fitness levels that I aspire to, which helps motivate me to show up. Since attending classes 4/5 days a week, all my lifts have gone up.

- squat: +75 pounds
- bench: +60 pounds
- Murph (CrossFit workout with a lot of running): 4 minutes faster
- clean and jerk: +55 pounds

The gym has everything from very competitive training in strength and endurance, to casual lifters who just want to be healthier.

I consider myself a “casual” Olympic weightlifter, and by following the programming here, I was able to get 2nd place at the world championship masters event! WHILE still being able to run a 6 minute mile! How many weightlifters can do that. Pic related.

If you want to get fit, this is the most fun, challenging, and healthy gym in the area, this is 100% the gym to attend.

Monument Fitness is hands down one of the best gyms I’ve ever been to. The coaches are so knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely welcoming. My husband and I have an open gym membership, and from day one, they made us feel like part of the community. The vibe at the gym is really awesome—everyone is friendly, encouraging, and it’s clear that people genuinely enjoy being there. If you're looking for a place that pushes you to be better while making you feel at home, this is it. Cannot recommend this place enough. Seriously, just go—you won’t regret it!

Monument Fitness is an exceptional gym. The workouts are challenging but scalable to all levels. The coaches actively engage with members to prioritize proper form and injury prevention. Gym equipment is in excellent condition and the space is always clean. There is a large parking lot and classes rarely max out. But really the community and coaches are the reason you will keep coming back. Highly recommend you try this gym, you are guaranteed to achieve your fitness goals!

Having had multiple surgeries and injuries on the same leg, I was hesitant to start what I knew to be an intense training regiment. So happy I gave it a try. The encouragement and coaching I receive from Monument is simply outstanding. For the first time in 5 years I am finally able to put muscle on my beat up leg. I am even running again! The coaches are passionate and dedicated to helping you improve your fitness. Each coach brings their own style and their own intensity.

Stacey has a fire and intensity that is motivating and encouraging! She can also provide a nutrition plan based on your personal goals with weekly check ins. IT IS NOT A DIET, it’s a life style change that is gradual and easy to manage, teaching you along the way to be mindful moving forward.

This gym pushes you and brings you into their community exactly where you’re at. I’m a big fan of the sweat classes and look forward to going each class, even though I know it will be tough and as many of the coaches say, “we can do hard things!”

I've been a member of CrossFit Lando for almost two years now, and have loved every moment of it. Everything from the quality of the coaches, to the uniqueness of the programming, and the more than welcoming community, has exceeded my expectations; not to mention I'm probably in the best shape of my life!

Stacey and Aaron are passionate about both their business and their training, and it shows - from the top notch appearance of the gym, to the way they were able to improvise during this pandemic and spin up a virtual class basically overnight, to how they mentally and physically challenge you to push past roadblocks and better yourself.

I joined CrossFit Lando when I moved back to the area earlier this year, and in a few short months I can't even begin to describe the changes I've seen in myself -- both mentally and physically. I spent nearly a year working on some skills at my old gym that the coaches at CrossFit Lando were able to break down and teach me in just a few short months. I've set PR's in all my lifts, and have made immense progress in my gymnastics skills. When I wanted to get better at HSPU and get strict pull-ups, Stacey gave me drills and extra workouts to help me gain the strength and to work on the skills to add both to my arsenal. Now I can knock out strict HSPU and pull-ups for reps -- something I legit never thought was possible. Right before the start of quarantine, I started with Stacey and her Fit and Fabulous nutrition program. In only 8 weeks, nearly all of which were not spent in the gym and only online Zoom classes, I lost 8lbs of fat and GAINED 9lbs of muscle. Read that back to yourself. That just goes to show how great the coaching and programming is at the gym that in a time when we aren't even able to workout together in the gym, you can still make massive strength gains with just a kettlebell and bodyweight movements. In addition, the confidence I have gained in myself has translated to so many other areas of my life. I cannot thank the coaches and staff at CrossFit Lando for the positive changes in my life, and I can't wait to get back in the gym and build on all this progress.

Great community! I have been coming to this box for years and love how welcoming and friendly it is here. The coaches are extremely knowledgeable and can adapt your training to your experience level and to accommodate any injuries or limitations. I wasn’t really sure what I was getting myself into when I joined Crossfit Lando 2 years ago. I was slightly intimidated because I had never done anything like it. That immediately changed after meeting Aaron, Stacey and the rest of the coaches who were so welcoming and helpful. The coaches are very knowledgeable and have pushed me to work hard and earn my fitness. The Crossfit programming is top notch and the Sweat classes are my absolute favorite. Throughout the Covid pandemic, Lando has been doing virtual classes that have truly helped keep me sane and healthy. Can’t wait to get back in the gym soon!

I think any business, no matter what it is, is all about people and relationships and at CrossFit Lando in Charlestown you experience this from the moment you meet the owners, Aaron and Stacey. They are both extremely professional, transparent, knowledgeable about the exercises, movements, form, pace, intensity and everything that comes with the Crossfit experience. On top of all this, they truly, truly care about their members, which is something I've experienced directly and witnessed since I joined CF Lando last year.

Yes, Stacey, Aaron and the other coaches will push you hard and will help you dig deep for that extra rep, that extra jump or extra setup, but they will do it in a super motivating and non-intimidating way. Why? Because they know you can and because they've been there themselves. Joining and being part of CF Lando has been a great experience and truly transformative physically and mentally. I have been a member of CrossFit Lando for 3+ years. While I think CrossFit in general can seem intimidating, CrossFit Lando is not. The coaches are very knowledgeable, friendly and supportive. The classes are challenging, but fun, and can be scaled for all fitness and skill levels. I typically go to the morning classes and it’s the best way to start the day!

Classes get overly full to the point there isn't enough equipment to perform the workouts as instructed. It's especially bad for women's sized barbells and women's height pullups, rowing machines, and sometimes even boxes. Space gets tight to perform movements safely. Coaching is usually overall good, especially Stacey who is not only extremely competent but funny and encouraging. I don't think it's a great CrossFit box for beginners in terms of instruction on the basics - I got partnered with someone who didn't know how to do a snatch for a workout with 50 of that movement and the coaching staff didn't intervene which put me in an awkward position of trying to make sure my partner didn't hurt herself.
