I've been going to this gym for years because they're open 24/7 and within walking distance of my house. It's not a place for bodybuilders but it's got everything you need for a good workout.
This year (2025) they got all new equipment which is very very nice. The place is always clean, and the staff is great. I've never seen it so crowded that I can't get right to the machine or the free weights, but I usually workout around 6 or 7:00 a.m.

The gym is nice and has all the equipment I need. I really liked that fact that the gym requires you to clean the machines after finishing your workout the only problem is that the some of the staff is not respecting this rule and neither his clients.

Summary: Great for beginners, physique training, and the general fitness crowd. This is not a gym for strength sports.
This gym is in a small space, so it is a little crowded. For most folks, I'd say it's well-outfitted: It's about 50/50 cardio and weight machines--there's one cage rack and a smith machine, as well as about 4-6 static bench variations (flat, fixed incline, etc.), as well as a bunch of cable machines. There is not a deadlifting platform--there is a heavy foam/rubber mat on the ground, but not a true platform. There's an upstairs barre/studio space with TRX, tumbling mats, a heavy bag, and a speed bag with some community gloves.
The facility was clean, well-lit, and all of the equipment looks to be either new or well-maintained. The staff that took me on the tour was friendly, helpful, and knew almost everyone coming through the door. All of the above are great reasons to go to this gym.
I am a powerlifter looking for a gym closer to my home, here's why it doesn't work for me (for context, I have a background in training for weightlifting, powerlifting, and strength+conditioning):
(1) the barbell equipment is limited. There is only one cage rack, with a limited selection of weight
(2) the deadlifting pad is not an adequate replacement for a platform; additionally staff told me there is a rule against "slamming weights" in this facilitiy--to their benefit, they did qualify that some weights are too heavy to gently put down, and that the expectation was for members to control the eccentric of all weighted movements. Just exercise caution with this one if you're lifting heavy.
(3) this gym prohibits video recording/facetiming of any kind on the training floor. This is pretty reasonable, and I don't think this is an issue for 98% for gym goers--for the 2% that have a coach who wants training footage, this just isn't a good fit.

My experience at North Shore was going well until they hired a new short employee, now it's no longer pleasant, he goes in the evening to do his training and spends the exercise using his cell phone for more than 20 consecutive minutes, and yesterday specifically I was training on one of the machines and he arrived and put his cell phone on top of the weight while I was drinking my water and when I went back to training I didn't see his cell phone there and I continued he came angrily scolding me saying I was going to break his cell phone, asking If I wasn't seeing his cell phone there saying that I couldn't have done that and he came out all angry, I'm disappointing myself with these attitudes

Modern gym with nice variety of equipment. The employees and trainers are great people. Also offers various classes that cost little to attend. Clean, plenty of parking, open 24/7. What's not to like?

Well maintained and clean for a place that is open 24hrs, but very overpriced. The scanner at the front door is broken so you have to be let in from somebody who is already inside. The 3 times I have been here, there have been no employees working, and to those points, anybody could walk in without a membership. There are far too many cardio machines and the lifting machines while new/well maintained have terrible functionality. It is far better to spend the extra 10 minutes to drive to the MAC in Manchester.

Not great, management treats some people rudely but will be nice to others. Gym equipment leaves a lot to be desired, neither high quality or large selection of commercial equipment.
Satisfactory for some but overall not the best value or quality gym in town.

I have so many things to say. So many reasons why this gym needs to be shut down like, yesterday.
Itβs an incredibly messy place.
Also the staff seems to get a kick out of bullying and singling out people.
The manager is completely incompetent and has a self-righteous smug attitude (that she didnβt earn).
They overcharge you and take money out of your account, despite being closed for almost a year.
Just donβt go to this gym. Save your hard-earned money.

It feels good to be back at the MAC!!
They're doing a fantastic job with keeping it Covid19 free. All restrictions in place are SO well worth it...

One of the main reasons my son joined this place was for the speed bag and heavy bag but they never seem to have the speed bag inflated. I don't think it's much to ask for since it was shown to him when he went for a tour
Guess he will have to bring I a pump to fill it himself!
So since I posted this a few days ago, it got a response from the MAC gym and apparently they are replacing the speed bag so I guess once this is replaced I'll raise my review rating.
But one thing i i forgot to mention was the keypad that you slide your membership card in needs to be covered properly because rain water makes it malfunction and then you cannot get in unless someone is there to let you in. Other than these issues it's a nice Gym. Cleanliness is always been up to standard and did I mention that it's open 24/7 .

Probably the worst customer service I have ever dealt with when they lost there original manager they lost a lot of business and respect number one the poeple behind the counter don't know anything there doing there sad excuse for a manger who has an atittude if you call and bother her who doesn't show up till 11 am they consistently have problems with there billing and have there equipment breaks all the time and takes weeks to fix the only reason to go is the equipment is up to date and there open 24hr everything else is pathetic and your better off going to fitness zone which is now 24 hours or take the drive to planet fitness

Decent gym for a smaller club with 24 hour access but could use more classes and complimentary amenities for its value

Just stopped in to check out the gym. Looks like a nice spot and the front desk was very helpful and welcoming. my rating is based off simply stoping by and getting the info I needed. Seems like a good community gym!

I found the management and front desk staff here to be EXTREMELY rude. The space is also small and crowded. TRX is not included in the $49 a month membership, and it should be. There are better gyms in the area, for the money. Marcy and Samantha need to work harder at being nice to potential customers if they hope to get business.
