I have been working with Amanda for several months now and the progress I have seen has been amazing. She is always incredibly thoughtful about movement and ensures I understand which muscle groups I am working. I appreciate that she pushes me but also is fantastic at offering modifications when we are working a new area or movement. Working with Amanda is the absolute perfect balance for me. And on top of all of that, Amanda is just a wonderful human and I truly look forward to all my sessions with her.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my PRT sessions with Amanda. She’s extremely knowledgeable about the source of chronic pain, why it persists, and various techniques patients themselves can use to get rid of it. When I told her about my history, she was quick to associate the pain with stressful times in my life. She has an intuition about all of this and she made some connections that even I hadn’t made! At each of my sessions, Amanda would address a particular topic clearly and concisely, while sprinkling in real-world examples to illustrate the point. She would often check in with me to make sure I understood and to ask what’s coming up for me. The therapy is a process, and she’s gracious about the way that process is unfolding for me. I don’t feel rushed or judged by how I’m going through it; it’s uniquely my own. But I feel supported, knowing that she’s there to coach me along the way and answer my questions as they arise.

I have been a student of Pilates on and off for many years in locations across the country, and Amanda is by far the best teacher I have ever had. Her sessions are well-organized, appropriately paced and nicely varied to keep the exercises interesting and provide just the right degree of challenge. I really look forward to seeing her each day, and afterwards I feel like I have had a thorough work out but never like I overdid anything. Amanda has a fabulous studio with really nice equipment. Regardless of your level of previous experience, I am confident you would have a great experience at Pilates Melrose.

I am a beginner with previous injuries and fears about exercise practices that exacerbated them. Meeting Amanda has totally changed my relationship to my body, fitness and chronic injury related pain. She is so passionate about helping people increase strength, fitness and restore healthy function.
Honestly, I have made more progress in a couple of months than ever before in my life. Amanda is extremely intelligent, knowledgeable, compassionate and determined. She is also prepared,, fun, and able to modify and tune the program to my progress and goals.
