Yes VERY hard to cancel. I have been trying for years! Everytime it's the same thing. I need to talk to a manger but the manager's not here now. When will they be in? They don't have a regular schedule, just come back another time. I found out if I send a registered letter they legally have to honor it. There are other gyms closer to me.

Rules are a little ridiculous. Took my sweatshirt off lifting because I was hot and was confronted by an employee about having it on the floor. I understand bags and such get in peoples way but really a hoodie rolled up next to my water bottle is in no one’s way and was an uncomfortable and unnecessary confrontation. Billerica is my home club and after the major remodel they did in 2023, have grown to appreciate it very much with all the new equipment and especially change rooms and showers. I travel frequently and I’ve been to other clubs, especially in Florida and Billerica is still my favorite club. I like Planet Fitness because of their no “lunk” policy but would appreciate some more free weights for certain workouts. But they have ample machines and weights for my type of workout, which is mostly for keeping up with health and strength and not bodybuilding.

About a year ago, I joined online instead of in-person. The process was a breeze, and everything I needed to know about billing and other important things was displayed clearly.

From my first day and till today.
1. The staff were friendly.
2. Equipments were clean and organized.
3. The environment is comfortable.
4. The locker room is big.
5. I haven't used the showers. But I used the bathroom, and it was clean.
6. There are enough cleaning stations, and they are well stocked.

One of the worst experience ever. A lady behind the front desk was rude and ignorant. I went with my son and she had the nerve to tell me that my child was not able to come in because he is 13. I asked her to show me where it said that in their policy and she couldnt even find it. The manager had to look up the policy for her and explained to her that he is of age and he can enter. The manager apologized and walked me through the process so my son can use my guest pass.My point is, they shouldnt have people working there if they dont know the policy. It looks real bad on the company.

I’ve been lifting at PF since high school. Consistent for the last 3yrs. The woman Kathy at the Billerica location is by far the rudest and one of the most unapproachable people I have ever encountered. I’ve seen her scolded grown ups like they are misbehaving children and I have always let it go. But today when she spoke to me the way she did is where I draw the line in the sand. If I was doing something wrong then approach me w/ respect and not like I’m a misbehaving teenager. It’s astonishing to me the way some people with the slightest bit of authority think they can treat people.

Remodel is great. But a few key things that were incredible nice about this location have been removed.

I submitted this to the customer service requests a few mins ago

“ Removing both mirrors and the balance - stretching rails in the stretching area is an odd choice.

The bars are incredible useful for a number of stretches and exercises and the mirrors help with correct form and self motivation.

These were odd choices for the remodel and I’d hope you decide that it was an oversight as opposed to a permanent change.

The stretching area and the balance bar on top of a few other things were the exclusive reason to use billerica as opposed to a Dracut (Dracut has the bar albeit a small one but still useful) or Wilmington considering you were the only one with these amenities.”

There’s plenty of room for both mirrors in the stretching area as well as a 8-10’ section of pipe for balance and stretching. Hope you realize this will be a frequently requested feature.

DO NOT GO HERE!! I was working out one day and this person kept standing near me waiting for me to finish my set. Mind you I just got started using the abs machine so I felt very very uncomfortable. Then as I’m doing squats with the weight rack these guys keep staring at me for no reason and I just didn’t feel comfortable again like I shouldn’t be feeling this way. Then when I go to use the showers it smells and it looks gross. I found someone’s underwear and razor sitting there and there was yellow stuff on the mat. I don’t appreciate how dirty and nasty the men’s showers are like do better! I will not be coming back here again and I’ll be cancelling my membership. The bathroom stalls there’s just toilet paper on the floor like is it that hard to pick up after yourself? This is a serious problem that needs to be fixed. Until that gets fixed I will not be coming back here again.

This gym is so dirty and run down. There are barely any weights to add to the machines and the majority of the machines have something wrong with them. It is obvious this place is not cleaned because you can see scruffs on the walls and the glass windows to the entrance are super dirty too. Also, you can smell the BO throughout the gym. To cancel your membership they want you to come in person. You are unable to just cancel over the telephone or by email. After 2 months they charge you a $49 annual fee.

Think about that for a moment. Annual is normally 12 months yet they charge it two months into the contract. That doesn't seem right.

I would give zero stars but it seems I have to at least do 1 to post , to the Billerica location, I went there this morning because the Dracut location I normally go to is closed today and as a Black member for over 4 years I have visited several locations and this was the next closest one. Within 3 minutes of checking in the older woman at the desk came up to me and accused me of stealing weights!!!! I was dumbfounded I seriously thought it was some kind of joke . Walked in with my co worker and his younger cousin. The older woman with blonde/brownish hair at the front desk was very offputting when we walked in. My friend only had the classic pass so he could not bring a guest (which we were not aware of) there was a fellow member with a black card who offered to bring someone in as a guest.

The woman at the desk became rude and said no we can't do that, turned the scanner for the passes away from us and said "goodbye" in a extremely offputting tone. We asked how much a pass would be for the day to which she replied "can't you just look it up" again with a rude and offputting tone. I looked it up (though I believe she knew the answer before I needed to do this) it was $20 my friend decided he would pay for his little cousin but the woman at the counter just had such a bad attitude it put me completley off to working out here.

$20 for a day pass to a gym with very little amenities, to be greeted in such a bad way? I think I'd rather spend my money elsewhere, the plus side was your gym looked extremely clean and friendly besides that :) but I'd have someone else Work the desk if you want people to come back cheers.

Nice staff and facility is pretty clean. To be honest management needs to make sure members are dressed appropriately. Too many people who go here that are legit in workbooks and jeans or flip flops / Crocs. If someone were to drop a plate on their foot, there is grounds for a lawsuit. Also management should do rounds to make sure people aren't hogging machines because they are on there phone or taking pictures of themselves between sets. Tik Tok has killed the gym culture and there's more people in here for likes on their videos rather than working out. I do enjoy going to PF but these issues make you understand why PF is seen as a joke gym. For people who actually want to work out, these issues will prevent member retention.

P.s to other PF members, the area that says "stretching" nice and big on the wall is the area to stretch in, not the 360 area or anywhere else you please. Be courteous of other people.

I downgraded from a black member to a regular membership and specifically asked the front desk to be in a no-contract agreement. They charged me 20 dollars and put me into a no commitment regular membership. Recently they have significantly reduced their hours, they are no long open at reasonable times on the weekends. Two weeks ago, I asked to cancel my membership. The front desk worker told me I was locked into a 12 month commitment and have a 58 dollar buyout.

This location still advertises 24/7 on the building. They are falsely advertising and deceptively enrolling members into contracts. Stay far away from this location, new assistant management is rude and are not willing to resolve issues with customers.

I been doing the gym thing for 2 years straight. I often enjoy going to different ones so I don't get bored. But Billerica location by far is the dirtiest gym I ever been to. Every single part of the gym is dusty, i can litterly draw a house through the dust, no clean area ANYWHERE. The floors are horrible the female bathroom atleast today had no paper towels. But esthetically compared to dracut, Danvers, Salem, and saugus which those are the ones I been to, Ican honestly say no upper management walks in this door, no way would they stand for this. IT LOOKS LIKE THEY HAVEN'T SWEPT OR CLEANED THESE FLOORS SINCE BEFORE WINTER. Management needs to pay a visit.
