Customer service was horrible, I wanted to try the free pass day because I’m working now in the area and wanted to see if it matches my needs but they did not let me in because “it’s a franchise and the owner is very strict and doesn’t allow day pass” this is not listed in the planet fitness page, and the guy/brazialian with la colombiana were not kind at all even tho I was gonna buy the membership!!! I’m pretty sure even if it’s a franchise they still have to follow service standard

Absolutely terrible experience at this Planet Fitness. The facility is constantly dirty, with trash cans overflowing for hours and no staff taking care of basic cleaning. The bathrooms smell absolutely disgusting and seem to be in terrible working condition, which is unacceptable for any gym. The level of neglect here is so bad it feels like something that should be reported to the City of Chelsea for health and safety concerns.

If you have any other gym option available, please go somewhere else. This Planet Fitness location is the perfect example of false advertising, disrespect, and complete lack of professionalism.
They advertise a free pass to try the gym, and they also claim that if someone with a Black Card sends an invite, the guest can enter. None of that was true in my girlfriend’s experience. When she arrived, they tried to charge her $20 for this so-called free pass. It came across as a complete scam from the moment she walked in.
The staff made the situation even worse. Instead of offering help or explaining anything properly, they treated her in a rude and classist way, basically implying that if she didn’t have the money, she should leave and not come back. No customer should ever be spoken to like that.
There was a man there whom we’re not even sure is the actual franchise owner, but he certainly acts like he is, and his customer service was just as poor as the front desk employee’s. The attitude across this entire location is unacceptable.
What makes it even more frustrating is that the official Planet Fitness website clearly promotes the free pass, yet this location refuses to honor it. That is misleading advertising, plain and simple.
We will be reporting this situation to the appropriate place because the way they treat people here is completely unacceptable.
If you have the opportunity to choose another gym, do it. This place does not deserve your time, your trust, or your money.

This location is a rip-off. They constantly change prices on you. They get you with the $1 to join. You are charged 25 monthly. When you want to cancel due to lack of equipment and trainers. You are charged to cancel. Even if you paid your fees for the month. They are never any supervisors there. They're whole staff are Spanish. They barely speak English. This place is definitely a privately owned business. They do not follow corporate policy. Avoid this location in Revere. I know I will never return. Their only consistency is taking your 💰. Go somewhere you are appreciated. This place does not put patrons first. It's all about the money with them. I have never been at a gym where everyone is overweight. This gym reminded of a bad comedy skit.

This has to be the best planet fitness in the state! They just brought in brand new machines that work perfectly. Even better though is the manager Raymond. He is so nice and must be a great leader because you see his leadership shine through the whole team. Jennifer, Adon, Diego, Nicole, Marino, and so many more. Every single staff member is so nice and extremely helpful. The facility, bathrooms, and showers are always immaculate/fully stocked every time I’m in. I’m always disappointed when I’m farther away and have to go to a different location. You folks rock!

I’ve been training with this gym chain for almost 10 years, always respecting the space, the equipment, and everyone around me.

Recently, I felt uncomfortable when a staff member approached me during my workout, as if I were being careless with the equipment. The truth is, I was simply training to muscle failure, and at that point of exhaustion, it’s normal for plates to hit the floor harder — not out of disrespect, but to prevent injury and safely complete the set.

Weight plates making noise isn’t negligence — it’s part of real strength training. There’s no gym without the sound of iron. I agree we must protect the equipment since it supports our progress, but calling someone out for training seriously shows a lack of understanding of how hypertrophy training works.

If noise is an issue, the gym should invest in padding or shock-absorbing materials instead of confronting members who are training properly and with purpose.

I hope this feedback helps the team understand that we’re not here to break equipment — we’re here to evolve.

The gym has a great atmosphere, modern equipment, and everything is well-maintained. It’s an excellent place to train with focus and discipline.

However, I’d like to point out something important: when training with heavy loads and pushing to failure, some noise is simply unavoidable — especially when the plates hit the ground with more force. That’s part of serious strength training and essential for muscle growth.

If the gym is concerned about the noise, it would be helpful to consider investing in rubber pads, drop platforms, or cushioning between plates to reduce impact while still allowing intense workouts.

Training hard takes effort, proper technique, and yes — sometimes a bit of noise too. Let’s find balanced solutions together!

all of the workers at the Chelsea, MA location have always been friendly. Today while finishing up my workout, an older worker approached me and asked if I was using the machine and to finish up. I was looking at my phone between sets, but at this point I was only at the machine for 12 minutes ! I thought someone was waiting, even though the gym was not busy - I finished and left. If you are going to limit the time on the weight machines please post it - at 62 I am not power lifting on a time limit, I'll find a new gym. I dont think its unreasonable to be on a machine for 10 - 15 minutes, especially when the gym was not busy and no one was waiting to use the machine I was on.

Wonderful facility. Offers all of the black card spa options including upright and laydown tanning, hydromassage, and massage chairs. A wide variety of training and cardio equipment and a friendly staff. I travel around for work throughout Eastern MA and have visited about 6-7 other locations. This location is very small, so the fact that they have all older equipment you'd want to maintain the machines. But a lot of times, there are far too many out of service. I don't see it like these most other locations.

Poor administration.. some of the treadmills " to be specific 7" and some of the static bikes are broken, at least for quite a month. the ventilation of the gym is poor, and all the windows are foggy. And the men's restroom is poorly maintained. Two of the sinks don't have soap or even connected to a water line. i post some pictures of it. Really bad 👎 management

The “crowd meter” on the app will say it isn't busy, yet it is jammed packed, and every piece of equipment is occupied. If you do find an open piece of equipment, it often turns out to be broken. It feels like it is 200 degrees inside and the air is stagnant. People sit on the same piece of equipment for seemingly hours and never move. If you want to use the express workout area for its intended purpose, forget it. There are people parked on every piece of equipment there too, and they won’t move for anything.

It gets worse every day. I’ve been coming to this location for 18 months because it’s closest to home. I keep hoping things will improve. They don’t. Today, literally half of the treadmills are out of service, several weight machines can’t have weights or seating adjusted because the knobs are missing. I’m used to going to multiple planet fitness because of work. And today, I unfortunately went to the one in chelsea as soon as I walked in, I felt the air. You literally could not breathe. Like take a breath. There is no AC,machines are dirty. There is a lot of group of kids that they go there. They stay in one machine for the whole night doing one workout and when you go and ask how many reps they have left they’re like “oh we are gonna be done in 30 minutes to one hour” The machines are never available! Honestly, if you’re reading this review, before going there . It’s a sign don’t go. Go to another planet fitness.

I called this gym at Revere earlier today and by phone they said they close at 1pm am today Thursday Nov 28 thanksgiving day so for that reason I decided to go there. Google and the planet fitness page also said that this facility closes at 1 PM
Exactly at noon the staff started turning the lights of the entire gym on and off and screaming on the speakers “WE ARE CLOSING, ITS TIME TO GO” the gym was close to full we were so many people working out, I got close to the front desk and asked the staff “why are you closing now? I called earlier and you said it closes at 1pm” and they answer was just “NO, WE ARE CLOSING NOW AT 12” all of us, in the middle of our work out had to rush and go quickly because the staff would not stop screaming “COME ON, ITS TIME TO GO” and literally they forced us te evacuate the facility in less than 5 min as if we were having a fire emergency or something like that!!!
I’ve been thinking about switching gyms for a while… this was the sign that tells me it’s time to look for another gym !!

The worst PF location I’ve been to and unfortunately I moved to Chelsea a couple months ago so this is the most convenient one for me. Always very hot in there, limited equipment compared to other PFs, small dumbbell area that only goes to 60lbs and just overall small and it’s a very busy location. Staff is friendly. A manager told me not to place my dumbbells on a bench because it wears them out faster(most of the equipment is worn out here anyways).
Both Revere locations and East Boston are so much better.

There is no AC, the installations and machines are dirty, the soap dispensers don't work, and the manager is rude. I had to attend this gym (PF Chelsea) during the current summer (2024), and I can say that this branch is by far the worst of the franchise.

-Tons of people carrying bags around the gym and leaving them on the floor
-Groups of people crowding around one machine (making the machines next to it hard to use as well with so many people hovering over you)

I cancelled my membership after 7 visits. Here's what you can expect: people coming in and grabbing 4 or more different weight sets and a bench at peak hours in the morning when it is packed, and then sitting there texting and refusing to share the impressive set of weights they have collected all around them. One women was actually working out in a different part of the gym and ran over from where she was and literally took the bar out of my hands and said no, no, no, no like some petulant child. If you want your own private gym, go join one. When I brought this to the attention of Planet Fitness, they said I am not the only to complain about this. I called Planet Fitness countless time begging them to cancel my membership but they said I need to come to the gym center where I enrolled or send a notarized document requesting my cancelation. For over 2 years I've been charged $10 and $39 for annual membership. Today I called and like magic a manager was able to cancel my membership because he was so NICE to understand my situation lol. Please go to any other gym center I've bnevrr heard of any subscription that couldn't be cancel online. He said I should've made sure to cancel my membership before living the country. My mistake was to subscribe with my checking account. I wish I could give a zero star. Scammmmmm!!!

This place used to be nice and clean. Now it just smells like a public restroom, the trash cans are always full and a lot of broken machines. Also there is no hand soap in the restrooms and sanitizer is totally gone

Used to be my go to gym. Never in my
life had 1 issue until about a year ago.
The over night guy is horrible. Constantly
being bothered, nasty attitude, walks
around and talks to under age girls &
they're friends while working out, (June
8th, 2022. Approximately 12:45 am & not
to mention this is the one they have
working in the woman's locker room to
get the cleaning materials. TUES. JAN

without a sign letting anyone know
THERE IS A MAN working in the lady's
room, the other women who works every other day who cleans, needs a raise! She leaves this place spotless! Bathrooms are one of the cleanest I ever been too. She works very hard and it’s noticed!

Muy mal servicio fui a cancelar personalmente y el muchacho que me atendió me dijo que ya quedaba cancelado y que ya no me iban a cobrar más de la tarjeta pero me volvieron a cobrar los 25 dólares cabe de recalcar que fui a cancelar antes de la fecha que tocaba pagar la verdad es muy injusto

Planet Fitness is outstanding and very socially conscious. The service is outstanding the exercise facility meets my needs. I must not speak for everyone but I must say for myself I love exercising I love Planet Fitness. A lot of the people of warm-hearted human beings that visit at the club. The service is very good. Okay, it’s a descent gym!!! It has lots of nice equipments. One thing that makes me a bit uncomfortable is the staff sign that says a male worker would be cleaning the bathroom. It’s there the ENTIRE night. Like from 9pm-2 am which has been around the time frame I’ve gone. I just feel a bit uncomfortable in the locker room. Last time I was in there with a couple of other girls the male staff just comes in, these were all within different hours. I get it it’s night time and they’re just doing their job to keep the facility clean. But perhaps setting a time frame to clean the bathroom would be best?

Even after the female lady had cleaned the locker room, the sign came out of no where right as she just left. It raises a slight concern. Overall no big deal but just be mindful is all I ask.

I usually go at night no issues but one night I went on a Monday and guy working over night was rude now I try the gym in morning and phone is about to die I ask guy at front and guy just doesn’t even look I had to insist where the charger was I saw the charger and guy says there’s no charger sad I didn’t get to get a full work out

Horrible , maquinas fuera de servicio. La gente no respeta el tiempo de uso. Sentadas en las máquinas revisando el teléfono y en el área de pesas , las pesas desordenadas las usan y no las ponen de vuelta en su lugar.
