I've been going to this gym since 2007, but the last few years here have been trying with all the renovations, including swapping of locker rooms, lack of bathroom access and now with the new opening hours guessing game, it's the last straw for me.

Every time I've tried to go here the last few months they've been closed for one reason or another and it's been irritating. I was eager to try out their new equipment this week, but when I arrived there, they were closed yet again! They have been 24/7 for the most part but I found out recently that they cut back their hours. This gym is a hassle for me to get to, but being able to exercise later in the evening was worth it. Now there is no reason for me to go here, so I'm leaving for good.

So now my choice is to join a gym closer to me with the same very inconvenient hours or join Planet Fitness in Salem which is a quarter of the size with twice as many people as the Danvers Planet Fitness.

Also, Planet Fitness Danvers, figure out what times you're actually going to be open. The hours on the Planet Fitness website, Yelp and Google are completely different from each other. It doesn't help that there are no posted hours at the gym itself and no explanation why they aren't 24/7 anymore.

I'm so sad because this used to be my favorite PF I would drive half an hour to get here but now I wouldn't go if it was the closest.

Rude lazy staff, specifically the guy with curly hair that just plays videogames his whole shift.

They removed half the machines and have no plan to bring in new ones. I asked and was told this by said rude lazy guy.

They used to be 24 hours a day and now they close early.

Summer programs are a hassle. We pay to go to the gym. Kids at a certain age get in free for the summer. Which is fine until it becomes a hang out kids are on the machine on their phones while people like me that actually workout get annoyed. No respect for the people who pay.

I came into the gym today doing my normal routine and I accidentally dropped my phone on the stair machine . Just my luck right ? well luckily Will who was holding down the gym and providing excellent customer service at the desk was able to step aside for a moment and assist me with getting my phone back . He went out of his way above and beyond to get my phone back for me and with his help the mission was a success . I just wanted to take a moment and give recognition to Will here at planet fitness for his exemplary work ethic and professionalism when not only manning the front desk but also in helping my clumsy self in retrieving my phone today. This location is lucky to have him and I hope to see him recognized for his efforts here ! that is all from me :) ! thank you Will!

I have been a member at Planet Fitness in Danvers, MA since September 2023 and I must say it exceeded my expectations in every aspect. The location is conveniently situated. The gym space is spacious and well-organized, allowing for a comfortable workout experience. I was particularly impressed with the variety and quality of equipment available, catering to all fitness levels.
Cleanliness is clearly a priority here, as the entire facility was spotless, from the locker rooms to the workout areas. How-ever, what truly sets this location apart is the amazing staff. Everyone I encountered was incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a positive atmosphere that made my visit enjoyable. Their willingness to assist and answer questions really enhanced my experience.
I also appreciated the community vibe that the staff fosters among members. Overall, my experience at Planet Fitness Danvers was fantastic, and I look forward to get fitter!

Giving 5 stars because the gym itself is fine, easily accessible and fits my needs… but what I would give 1 star is that the front window has no mesh or tint on it. If you use any of the cardio machines, you’re blinded by the sun reflecting off all the vehicles parked out front. Sometimes it’s impossible to workout to be honest. I mentioned something a couple years ago and it’s still the same unfortunately.

If you're in the market for a gym that specializes in frustration and incompetence, look no further than Planet Fitness – It's been nearly two weeks of banging my head against the wall, trying to get some semblance of help from both Danvers and Malden locations. I've called each club more times than I can count, and what do I have to show for it? Nothing but frustration and a sinking feeling of regret.

Picture this: You sign up, excited to hit the gym, only to find out their app has a mind of its own and assigns you to the location furthest from your home. No biggie, right? Wrong. When you try to fix it, both Danvers and Malden pass the buck faster than a hot potato.

You'd think a simple transfer between two branches wouldn't require a degree in rocket science, but apparently, it's beyond the capabilities of the staff at either location. And don't even get me started on Manager Silvia – her attitude made me feel like I was begging for a favor instead of trying to resolve an issue caused by their own system.

After countless calls and zero progress, I reached out to customer service for a glimmer of hope. Spoiler alert: there was none.

But wait, it gets better. When I dared to call again for assistance, I got hung up on.

And the cherry on top? When I finally mustered up the courage to ask for a refund – because let's face it, they had wasted enough of my time and energy – they had the audacity to tell me they would cancel my membership instead. How's that for customer service? Cancelling my membership for being the problem? I don't think so.
But hey, the latest update is that I'll supposedly be getting a refund in a few business days. So, let's wait and see if they can actually deliver on that promise. I'm not holding my breath.
Sorry, Planet Fitness, It's my right to get my money back for not even being able to make it through your doors.

So, if you enjoy the thrill of being passed around like a hot potato, by all means, give Planet Fitness a try. But if you value your time, sanity, and dignity, do yourself a favor and find a gym that actually knows the meaning of customer service.

I’ve been using planet fitness for a few years, and some clubs are rather lacking, but this one stands out. It’s well equipped with everything I expect to be there for my workout, it’s spacious, and relatively clean. Though I’m mainly writing this because there’s an employee named Ed who I see in the mornings, and while all the staff are great, he is truly above and beyond. Always on top of things and ready to help, keeping his eye out for people. He’s made my gym experience better, his friendliness and great attitude makes a huge difference.

I travel for work and visit many PF clubs. The Danvers, MA club was clean and the machines were in good order

I was disappointed to take a shower in water that was barely warmer than room temperature. I let the water run for over fifteen minutes, then I tried the other showers. Barely any warm water at all.

There are no hair dryers in the men's locker room. You can bend way over and dry your hair with the hand dryers.

There are two to choose from: The one where you bend over so your head is right next to the mouth of the open trash barrel, or the one where you can bend over and your butt will either stick out into the corridor or block the doorway. In any case I guess my hair got dry so there's that.

Before anyone replies that I should "Please speak to the management of the club", I did. If and when I get back here, we will see if anything has changed.

This used to be one of my favorite Planet Fitness locations but it's definitely been slipping over the years.

Year over year the personal gets a little worse and the place gets a little dirtier. I thought they would turn it around after they over hauled the bathrooms but they continue to trend downwards.

I was there this morning and there were two girls so buried in their phones they couldn't be bothered to say hello or even look up when I scanned in or left. The gym was dirty, the fountain was leaking, the chairs and beds were offline and they continued to ignore everything in favor of their phones. I'm not expecting them to do plumbing or IT work but how about moping up the leak or cleaning up the trash or well...anything.

Unfortunately this isn't an isolated incident but many in a long line. Hopefully they turn it around before this is another in a long line of kinda gross, kinda sub par Planet Fitness littered throughout various cities and towns

This Danvers club is excellent, except for one thing! The customer service lady working the front desk is entirely inaudible. She speaks so softly, you can see her lips moving but there is no voice. When you tell her this several times, she still will still not speak up. When you finally ask to speak to someone else or say that you’ll have to leave because you can’t hear anything she’s saying, she incredulously says: What? Can’t you read my lips? It should be a minimum expectation of this job that the employee can speak clearly and audibly with customers. It’s a beautiful club but it’s a major problem that the front desk worker is unwilling to speak to customers! It needs to be resolved.
