Is this a gym or a rave?!? the music is terrible and I’m not too fond of the new layout and equipment, either 😶‍🌫️

EDIT: music is STILL awful considering the average age of the members.
People clog up the equipment staring at their phones or having a conversation while sitting on the equipment while others watch and wait with nary a staff member to move things along.
Speaking of staff, it wouldn't take an army of staff to maintain the wet entrance floor so as to prevent people from slipping and sliding 😵‍💫

Currently, I am going to all the planet fitness on the South Shore while my home location is being upgraded this Hanover location deserves five stars. It has all new equipment. The only issue here is that it is packed with people, but the gym was very clean and I was able to get a massage very quickly.

I used to frequent this location heavily back in 2019-2020. But I had dealt with a very rude employee and refused to come back. Today, nearly three years later from my last time going to this location, I returned anxiously expecting another terrible experience at Planet Fitness. However, I was pleasantly surprised with how wonderful the two employees I dealt with treated me.

The young woman was very pleasant and helped me sign into a tanning bed right away. I was waiting for a gentleman to leave the tanning bed before me and I was concerned to ensure my appointment was for that specific bed. The employee reassured me that I was next for the tanning bed and that he personally would attend to any problem I had while using the bed.

I finally truly believe that there was no judgment shown at Planet Fitness & I believe those two associates redeemed my opinion permanently of this location. Thank you to you both (I'm unsure of your names) but I appreciate your kindness and great customer service/attitude. It didn't go unnoticed by me.

I have been to a number of Planet Fitness locations, but none of them compared to the one in Hanover. Not only is the gym always spotless, but the equipment is also state-of-the-art and well-maintained. In addition, the staff are helpful and the atmosphere is friendly. I was also pleasantly surprised to be greeted by staff when I entered. If you are looking for a great place to exercise, this is it. I can’t say enough good things about this gym, and I highly recommend it.

Honestly i love this gym so much. I love the workers and how clean the gym is. Ive been going here for a little over a year now. Im just really disappointed in the fact that they got all new machines except the elliptical machines that move the arms which were broken and they still are broken! I really wish i was joking but every single machine in there is brand new except these. They count down from 30, 29, and then the screen just goes black and you have to start all over again. I got really annoyed and just left after 20 minutes. I had to turn it back on 3 times and every elliptical machine has done this to me at least 2 times per machine :((

Such a warm and welcoming staff and members. From my first call to the day I signed up I have had a GREAT experience. Charly gave me the tour and answered all my questions with professionalism and Kindness. Jamal (Gm) explained to me when the $15 a month would come out and the yearly fee. No hidden agendas or fees!!

I really try to like this gym. The staff are great and welcoming. There are also plenty of machines to use, both cardio and strength training. The only issue I have is that the gym is always crowded with people camping at the weight machines on their phones instead of working out. I've had to leave multiple times due to all the machines being occupied for an extended amount of time. Great gym for cardio, but if you have a strict plan for working out, go elsewhere.

Unfortunately, my "Home" Planet Fitness has become a LUNK HAVEN. The staff has been left to fend off/explain away older adults displeasure with the removal of the 30 minute workout machine area. Absolutely discrimative towards loyal older paying customers. The staff is very cordial in spite of the gutless manager. She needs accountability.

My son and I went to Planet Fitness yesterday after the club had been closed to upgrade machines. We were looking forward to a refresh, but were so disappointed that the 30 Minute Circuit has been removed as it was an easy way to get in a quick workout that exercised legs, arms and abs. There is now only one recumbent bike and several machines for abs have been removed. It appears Planet Fitness is now focused on muscle building for a younger crowd. Would you reconsider and put the circuit back? Other members I spoke to also miss it. Hanover has been one of the nicer Planet Fitness facilities I’ve been to as it’s bright, airy and clean. I hope you’ll reconsider your changes.

I was looking forward to Hanovers reopening after having been closed for a week while upgrading their equipment. I was truly disappointed to arrive and find the remake has now heavily shifted & now more focused for body building clients. The weight lifting areas has significantly increased in size. The 30 minute circuit is gone & the number of machines reduced that were used for clientele focused on staying active, in shape, 55 and over or recovering from injury. I would imagine that I’m not the only one considering finding another facility for my workout needs.

I arrived at Planet fitness Monday Nov 27, at 0225 To start my morning workout, The club was closed, Its suppose to open at midnight. There's no contact number to be able to call to inform the manager.
I stopped by the club at 1030 am and spoke with the desk staff, I mentioned that they should post the managers number so when it happens again. Believe me, this isn't the first time. If planet fitness opened as promptly as when they remove money from your bank account, this wouldn't be a bad place.

The staff is friendly and the place is always in great shape. But what I like best about the club is the culture. All the people that attend seem to follow and support a culture that is welcoming to and cooperative with one another. Dude is this Hanover or Fall River? 1 urinal works in the men’s room and 1 toilet. There were about 15 guys n the bathroom and possibly 100 people in the gym. There was literally a line w people waiting on the urinal! Clearly 2 pink add kids in the front that don’t know how to do anything but push ups. No eye contact or communication or welcome whatsoever! Just gross place in general

There are many things not working at this planet fitness location and worst part is management do not even bother to fix it. They just put sign that temporary out of order. Worst part is shower, hot water is on and off, shower heads broken. Water fountain is having super low pressure. Don't waste your money for black card at this location because amenities are working but staff just put sign on monitor that it is not available due to screen not working or internet not working, etc...

PF is your standard gym. Nothing flashy, but plenty of equipment all around for anything you'd want to get out of an affordable workout center. Staff are helpful, and can design workout routines with you so they are knowledgeable...but like with everything, some staff are better than others. The gym is clean, equipment well maintained and the locker rooms are well organized, and clean with great lighting and plenty of space.

To the owner of Hanover location. Put lens tint over all the lights by the bench. You have it set up so your blinding all that dare to get a nice workout in. Not the best setting and or lighting for a gym environment. Need to take action. I know I'm not the only one. Falling apart.. this has been one of the more frustrating things.. I have told the employees multiple times. But nothing has been done.. there are broken cables in the chest fly area.. one cable has been down for going on 5 WEEKS.. now the other side is hanging on my a thread.. I have cut my leg on this exact cable multiple times.. but yet still nothing has been done with the broken side.. and now the only working fly cable is about to snap. Not to mention the water bubbler has been broken for a few weeks. There are lockers in the locker room that are broken.. I completely understand that workers are hard to find.. but I'm at the point that I will fix it myself.. it is a quick fix.. we are about to not have one spot to do cable flies... That's not really the main concern. It is the fact that whatever money we are paying.. is clearly not going back into the gym. Please send help.. but make sure who ever comes to help.. bringing a few extra cables and some tools.

I've been going to this location for years now. I also visit locations across New England because of my job. This used to be a top 10. Recently the lack of attention and responsibility at this location stinks. Start off with.
Water station out of service for 2 weeks, because of mold and dirt.
Lockers broke over 2 months.
Equipment not being maintained.
Multiple pieces of equipment out of service over a month.

It just seems like management does not care and is fleecing as much money as they can for a lackluster gym.
The employees clean what they can. But it's like painting a car when the engine is broke. What's the point.
Like previously mentioned, I have visited over 30 PFs in the last couple months. This is by far falling to the bottom 5.
Sad and disappointing. Used to be the shining star. Now just fallen.

I've been a black card member here since this location opened. It's showing the wear and tear. Tanning beds are from the jurassic period and bulbs haven't been changed in a year. When I've complained about the beds I was told the "repair/maintenance guy never seems to get to Hanover location". Lockers and benches are falling apart and toilets are often clogged.
Equipment is okay for the price and the place is fairly clean. Location needs some updates soon!

Where do I start.. I want to give this location more than 1 star but unfortunately I can’t. Most of the employees are great but a few of them in the evening are extremely unprofessional and rude. I didn’t know it was ok to invite friends to come hang with you at work, wrestle each other behind the counter and completely ignore the state of the gym and god forbid you need to ask them a question because they look at you with complete distain and annoyance for bothering them. The tanning beds are on a whole different level of nastiness. They DO NOT work, the bulbs are constantly out and they have been this way for a over a year. Majority of the time they are dirty so you have to clean it before because you can’t trust that the employees do it. I have been to many other Planet Fitness locations around the country and this one has the worst tanning beds I have ever seen. I was under the impression that in order to have a franchise, you had to keep the franchise up to date with equipment. The locker rooms are falling apart and half the treadmills are always temporarily out of service. I will still continue to use this gym when I have to solely based on it’s convenient location.
