I posted a review regarding the filth of this Planet Fitness location about a month ago. I got a response from the owner asking to reach out to the staff at this location with my complaint. Ok, fine. So I delete my review and talk with the staff. Mind you, I worked at the gym myself when I was younger, and I already had a pretty good idea that this responsibility wasn't on them anyway. Most gyms have outside cleaning companies for bathrooms and such. The blood stain that I complained about on the toilet from over a month ago is still there. There has been feces on the bathroom floor for about almost a WEEK now, despite talking with the staff about this multiple times. They confirmed my belief that they do in fact have an outside company that is responsible for this. Long story long, it's evident that no one has come to clean these bathrooms in OVER A MONTH. God knows how long this has been going on before I signed up. Is it not standard protocol to clean public facilities with thousands of members DAILY?? Shocking, honestly.

This is one of the best Planet fitness locations I’ve ever been to! So clean and they have all amenities which is rare!

I’ve been going to Planet Fitness for a while now, and overall it’s a decent gym. However, I find it really frustrating that the TVs are constantly set to news channels. It’s incredibly distracting when I’m just trying to focus on my workout. Not only do they serve no real purpose in a gym setting, but they can also stir up unnecessary stress or tension. I come to the gym to clear my head and get rid of anxiety, not be bombarded by the news cycle. I really wish Planet Fitness would consider turning them off or switching to something more neutral and calming.

As for the equipment, everything is in good working condition and there are usually no wait times for the machines. Sometimes some of the equipment breaks and it takes a few weeks to repair.

I love the judgement-free atmosphere at Planet Fitness! It's refreshing to work out in a place where everyone feels comfortable, regardless of their fitness level. Plus, the abundance of equipment is well-maintained and comes with clear instructions. If you do need a hand, the staff is always friendly and happy to help.
The gym is conveniently open seven days a week, so fitting in a workout is always easy. The Hingham location itself is clean and well-kept, which adds to the overall positive experience. Overall, I can't recommend Planet Fitness enough!

Planet Fitness remains the best value in gyms for those looking for sufficient space, equipment and who take a DIY approach. The Hingham facility does a great job of keeping most machines in working order, and I've seen solid upgrades during my membership. The staff at the front desk is always friendly. As Planet Fitness facilities goes, this one is clean and in great condition. The biggest issue which plagues this kind of gym in general are exercisers who camp out on machines for extended periods, either because their workout "requires" using the same bench or machine for a long stretch or to sit and scroll through Instagram while occasionally pushing on the weights. Staff has tried to address this w/reminders on screen and honestly don't know what more they can do because "3 minute time limits per machine during busy hours" would need to be enforced and that produces it's own problems. Maybe messages to people's apps reminding them of what constitutes basic gym etiquette?

As far as Planet Fitness goes, this one is pretty good. Pleasant staff always. Lots of machines and weights. Big area. Only complaint is all the treadmills aren't the same. Probably just wear and tear.

Dear Planet Fitness Owner, My husband signed up for a membership for a black card recently. I noticed on my bank statement that Planet Fitness was taking 2 payments a month for the past 2 months. I called and spoke to the manager, who advised me I could come in to cancel. However, I would not be refunded the 2 months. I told him I never signed up for a membership for myself electronically. He even had the wrong email address that I supposedly signed up on the internet, which i didn't. It was a different email address, one that I've never heard of or used ever. My husband went down to speak to the manager in person. The manager was extremely rude to my husband and said he wouldn't refund the dues. My husband explained to him that
I NEVER SETUP THIS MEMBERSHIP!! I think the manager is trying to get more memberships. I now have to call corporate and hope they can help.

After years of working out without ever being called out for anything, this PF employee comes out of nowhere to tell me not to drop the weights on the press machine. Not sure if it’s the disgust for the lack of understanding (even though he works at a gym) or the fact that he called me out but not the other 3 guys who were around me training similarly. I completely endorse policy against loud, attention seeking workouts, but Planet Fitness should tell their employees about sets for limit discovery and RIR and training to failure. If you put a skinny teenager in charge and tell him to call out anyone dropping a weight here or there, you’re gonna have a tough problem retaining people. Not to mention his customer service skills. “Not gonna change my day” he said. It’s that attitude that makes it just bad. I wonder if he had responded similarly in front of the owner.

Planet Fitness Hingham offers a very special environment. I recognize a diverse range of clientele. Youth to seniors, women and men, hobbyists and gurus. The equipment is maintained and the facilities are as clean as a whistle. The employees seem contented and happy to assist. I am old-fashioned and appreciate the difference between a response of "you’re welcome” versus "no problem". Hingham Planet Fitness offers an environment where either response may be received but both feel polite in their own way. This means something to an old goat like me. It helps me roll with the times. Hingham Planet Fitness helps keep me young in more ways than one. For this I am grateful - thank you!

I work out on weekdays mostly to avoid a crowded situation. The equipment that I typically use is ALWAYS available, or have minimal wait times. Everything is clean. My only comment is that the air exchanger should be looked at. Even with a moderate number of people working out, there’s a typical gym smell.

I just switched from Hanover to Hingham (to be closer to my home commute) and just walking in Hingham was a very nice gym. It's bigger on the inside than it looks, everything is very well organized and there are quite a few more machines for use. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I like the place because it's inexpensive and of decent quality. The employees are courteous and the place is spotless clean. Good selection of equipment but there could be a few more pieces of a number of things and less pieces of the other things. Your first visit might be a little confusing unless you make an appointment with a Fitness professional to get you started. It's much nicer since the renovation.

I came back to Planet Fitness last month temporarily while I was visiting home. This was only made possible for a short term membership by the front desk staff who are always friendly. I commend them for that.

To add however, like any Planet Fitness, no free weights and cringy messages all around. The "Lunk Alarm" is a joke only for the fact that you cannot become a "lunk" to begin with here given who limited the equipment is. This is a nice gym is you don't care about increasing your fitness from average to intermediate. This is just a place to maintain shape and nothing more.

New equipment and facility is great. Much more room now for social distancing in the ab room.

One huge request. The amount of phone usage on the machines is so aggravating. I often have to wait for machines while people of all ages text and play games. It is so unfair. There should be a policy of for example, two minutes between reps. Better yet, no phones except for listening to music!!

There are plenty of both cardio machines as well as weight machines. Lots of space and the stretching/TRX/Ab rooms are amazing! The facility is spotless and the staff are kind and friendly. The price is so incredibly reasonable and I was blown away when I found out the Black Card membership included the hydro massage, massage chairs AND tanning- I don’t think there is any where else you could get those amenities included without up charges.
