I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS GYM! The workers at the front (especially Lexi) always greet me every time I come in. I feel so welcomed and always have a smile on my face when walking in. The gym itself is spacious, the amenities are to die for, everything is clean and the people working out at the gym are so respectful. Machines are 10/10, locker rooms are 10/10, everything about the Saugus Planet Fitness is 100/10. I highly recommend coming to this gym if you want the full gym experience. I am really impressed with the customer service! It feels unreal but thats how Saugus Planet Fitness is and I am grateful to have found a location that suits my needs.

This place has become out of control. Equipments get moved around by different users and they never return the equipment where they belong. Staff do not care and never have any intention to return the removed equipment to their original locations. I have noticed a new manager lately. I used to see Rob and Dan often. Now Rob and Dan are gone and this place has no customer service whatsoever. The new manager, I assume, I have witnessed her talking to members rudely, with a threatening tone of voice. Most of the members have been coming to this gym for years since first day it was opened. However some of us have been spoken to by this new Manager-looking person as if we were kindergartners, with no respect and manners. We do not deserve to be treated like kids or nobody. We are all grown-ups, well respected professionals. A little courtesy will be greatly appreciated. I have started exploring other gyms. The atmosphere in this location is really something else.

OMG! As an ex employee of PF, I wish there would be some type of video sampling the staff and services of THIS PF location. I went here for the first time yesterday as I was in the area and meant to be at the gym for an hour 1.5hrs max... The place was so and so nice that I ended up having a complete total body workout and enjoyed my Hydromassage and tanning. First, I finally found a location that sells the tanning jars (not only the packets, and the goggles, so I was able to purchase them there. I ended up being at this location for 3hrs and a bit more. NEVER did I see ONE employee on the phone. As soon as I got to the front desk I was attended super nicely. I always spotted someone going around just dusting equipment. Oh, believe me, I as an ex employee I know what I'd want aas a client so I act as a secret shopper (in a way), so I kept looking to see if Id find something out of order and WOWZA, these people are TOP NOTCH and on point.
The place is huge many equipment so you ever find an equipment you might want to use, busy (which might not happen frequently) there is a bunch of options to complete your workout with other equipments that may hit rhe same muscles. THE FUNCTIONAL TRAINING area OMG... it was AWESOME to see the space for it and it was so complete. THE 30 MINUTE WORKOUT AREA was so complete as well with the middle steps and all. Tons of cardio options ...THE FREE WEIGHT AREA whitch in lther llaces can be a bkt messy due to people misplacing weights or leaving them out thrown in a corner,,, THREE TIMES did I go to this area and everything was so in place . I'm talking about a time where it seemed a bit busy but you just dont feel the stress of busy. THE BATHROOMS AND LOCKER ROOMS which are the nightmares of many gyms everywhere... IMMACULATE everytime. I saw constant round, rounds checking that all was in order THE RELAXING AREA for hydro massage, tanning etc, SO PRIVATE RELAXED, APART OF IT ALL AND SUPER CLEAN. Even the position of the hydromassage were so private. Tanning beds (yes cause I went into the rooms that were open, to check) They wer super clean inside and out and even in the sides. This was something I always use to be aware of when working for PF, the cleanness of the place. Clients appreciate this allot. I wish I lived cloaer to change my home gym. Its a GRADE AAA+ and hopefully every PF out there can take note...or perhaps send their employees here for a week or so to take on the Spirit of real Customer Service and what I always use to call it: Giving Clients the real "Royal PF EXPERIENCE".

I'll definitely revisit more often as I need to travel to that area at least once a month. I've always loved visiting different PF locations and comparing but, again this one takes my AAA+ to the point where I had to share this ling long review. If you've read this to these last words... Thank you

I can do my unique workout if plyometric, aerobic, and yoga without worrying about finding enough room. I would recommend two items: the franchisee purchase new balance balls that hold inflated pressure and also purchase a small set of free weights (5 - 20 pounds) for the back exercise area. The kettlebells are fine but free weights have some specific advantages. A reply from PF said I should speak to the manager. Wrong answer. I wrote this request so that the top level of PF would contact and ensure the action items were addressed. Do your job.

I belong to the Medford PF. It is closed for Renovations. I've been touring different locations, and by far ... Saugus has them all beat ... by a mile! The size, the amount of equipment, the cleanliness, the number of employees I saw that were continuously cleaning. I had been in a PF in Ft Lauderdale this past Fall. It was really nice! But Saugus is better! Keep it up!

Planet Fitness in Saugus, MA, truly feels like my home away from home! I’ve been a member for a year, and I can’t express how much I love it there. Definitely one of the nicer PFs I've been to. Large with many machines. You'll never wait for a treadmill here. It can be busy so you might have to wait for a Smith machine, but there are four so one usually opens up in a few minutes. Functional training room, 30-minute circuit room, and stretching/ab room. Clean locker room with showers. Have not tried the Black Card Spa yet.

Quit this gym because of the manager - Daniel. He told me if I don't bring my phone to sign in with the app then I need to create my own plastic card with a barcode to sign in without my phone because they don't give out keychain cards anymore. All set with going to a gym where I get berated for not bringing my phone in. There's nothing even in the agreement saying you need to sign in with your phone/the app. (Why are you even promoting bringing phones in when people already sit on equipment looking at their phones.) Imagine telling a member they need to create their own card to sign in?

It’s a cool place to workout and definitely friend friendly staff but the only problems I see at this location is that they should have a rule on the machines that if you have to rest longer then 5 mins then you should go sit in the comfortable massage chairs or the massage beds because some of us can’t get in and out like we want to because we are waiting for the equipment someone is sitting on for about 10-20mins and the other is to checkout the workout machines more often there are a few treadmills and stationary bikes that are definitely worn out and not working properly other than that a great experience.

Maneger are sooooooo Rude! I just started to come this gym the first week of this year and already canceled because I know he would gonna give me a hard time to transfer to another branch. Today due to a situation I had with the maneger, he didn’t want to help me solve it, he told me that to cancel the black card plan I had to pay a fee of $52 and sign a contract plan forcing me stay with this gym for 12 months! I called to others branch and they told me they don’t do it, the maneger might be the owner I guess, the others co-workers looks afraid of him, I see here in google that I am not the only one who complained about him, and he still working there, if he is not the owner, why the owner doesn’t ready the complaints about him listen to the clients reviews and changed the maneger? I’ve been a planet fitness client since 2018 I think so, I had no problem with the others 2 branches I had been going, just this one. I’m not gonna back anymore NEVER to this gym in Saugus! NEVER!

I’ve been working out here since they opened there doors and I absolutely love everything about this gym.

First I will say that they have the friendliest staff of any other Planet fitness I’ve visited.

Alicia is a crowd favorite there and it’s because she’s always greeting everyone with her big smile and is always happy to help with any questions you may have. Her positive energy is contagious!

This Saugus location is the biggest on the north shore and they have the cleanest and newest equipment.

If you have the black card you can take a guest for free and you have access to the Planet fitness Spa massage beds and tanning beds.

I highly recommend this Saugus Location to anyone looking for a great gym workout and quality experience!

Why is this gym even in business? If you feel judged and inform the staff none of them know how to handle anything as they're all too young and not management material. And good luck finding the actual manager lol. Never around! What kind of equipment do you want to use? A treadmill, a treadmill or a treadmill haha. By time you walk to the equipment you've already gotten your excercise...the walk is like a mile. If you like spin bikes pass on this gym. Not one to be found. If you like to not be judged, good luck. And I thought the meat market was the butcher shop! Nope! It's this gym! And if you don't like how things are going, forget informing this staff. They are children, not management. Sad that it's such a great location. Too bad they have not made the most of it with the people amd equipment that is in place. First of all they lack good equipment and also they don't have enough equipment. Every time I go to use a piece of it. There is someone on it or they are sitting using their phones for a long period of tim. Also I am a woman and there are a lot of men there that give you a hard time. They approach you they stare at you and it's just not a comfortable place for a woman to be. I had brought this to the attention of the assistant manager and the manager both of whom did nothing to render the situation. I was stalked in there by a couple of men. One was watching me work out on one of the machines so when he went on the sane machine from his same point of view I filmed him and posted to my private Facebook page. A week later i got a call stating that they banned me from the gym. I explained first that I was being harassed but the assistant manager, Dan, did not seem to care about the harassment. Only about the post. I also stated I was unaware of their policy but again, he did not want to hear about it. He cut me off over and over again and then hung up on me. Also, there was no way they could have known it was me unless they violted my privacy and gave out my personal information to said member. I would not recommend this particular Planet Fitness to anyone as it is a franchise and run by ignorant people that do nothing to work with its members in a professional manner. The owner/Manager Rob, should educate his employees and especially his Assistant Manager on customer relations. If you don't want to be harassed in any form in my case by men, then I would stay away from this gym.

Great space, location and offerings, but soaps are not refilled in the restrooms often enough. Considering all the illnesses around, it would be nice to get my hands clean pre- and post-workout (as is recommended in every PF club). Arrived 2-1/2 hours before closing on a Sunday, and there was no soap in the restroom, so I told the front desk. An hour and a half later? Still no soap anywhere. Do better!

They have a nerve calling it a gym. Almost no free weights. If you grunt when lifting they run a siren and then the manager comes over to chastise you... I'm not talking about a 600 pound bench press (which would prove impossible as I am doubtful they have 60, let alone 600 pounds of free weight and no bench press) where you let out a gutteral aaaahhh!!! either. I had the worst experience with an employee in my life. My grandmother has dementia and needs to be with me all the time. She can’t be alone, so I brought her to the gym with me so I can take care of her, but the front desk girl just told me that my grandmother can’t be there with me. I tried to explain that my granny won't use the machines, but the lady didn't listen to me. She was extremely rude and disrespectful with me and my grandmother. She don't even try to understand my situation. She told me to leave if I don't follow the policy. I never felt so humiliated in my life. It wasn't the first time that I get my granny with me to the gym. But it was the first time that someone didn't let me in. I hope that this brunette short girl get trained, she don't know how to work with customer service. She she's terrible.

I have been to several locations, and this one is my favorite. I travel further to go to this location, even though I have few locations closer to me. They are bigger, so they are more spread out, you don't feel clostrophobic. They also have good covid messures and plenty of cleaner. Also nice new equipment. Only problem is even though they have a long line of treadmills, that will be empty, someone will go on machine right next to me. Gooooo down a few, there are twenty machines to choose from lol. Appears recently opened-new building. I have seen many locations in various parts of the country and I would easily rate this location #1 for the facility, equipment and helpful/courteous staff!
The only downside I found was it's not fully 24 hours on weekends as you might be used if you are mostly closer to a city. However, most PF locations in smaller towns are usually not 24 hours so that was not a surprise.
The faciity has generous number of aerobic and resistance equipment such that in a moderately busy time of day it's not hard to find a machine to use.
I was most pleased to see the Bluetooth capability of the machines is actually utilized and the machines are mobile-device- connection-ready. The Bluetooth for music/ sound from the displays but I did use that feature, what I am talking about is Bluetooth for saving working data for record and later analysis of progress to make decisions about one's exercise program hence increasing the effectiveness of their workouts and gym membership. Patrons can use the LifeFitness app to record activity on aerobic exercise machines saving a digital log of their workout. Too many PF establishments, hotels etc that have these machines do not ensure this feature works. This locations stands out in this regard. I was able use one of the stationary bikes on the Zwift virtual cycling platform by connecting to the Bluetooth power signal broadcasted by the machine. The only challenge was determining the correct Bluetooth signal, as the airwaves in the building have power and cadence etc broadcast signal from all the BT exercise machines that are powered on. This could be fixed if management labels each machine with a BT broadcast ID# that appears in the selection options for users when they attempt to connect via bluetoot. In addition a few fully connected smart bikes such a from Wattbike or Stages would be a welcome addition for Zwifting or other online platform. It may seem counter intuitive but a gym can in fact attract customers with activities that are traditionally seen as obviating the need for a gym membership. For example, some people don't have space for a smart bike at home or don't want to spend the thousands of dollars it costs, but they would use one at their gym and pay the membership for the full array of equipment. Also it is attractive for travelers or patrons who work out at home and don't have their smart bike on the road, and also use a gym membership as supplementary to their home workouts when at home.
Overall, it appears the facility reflects lots of attention to detail by the management which is commendable and appreciated.

New and clean gym - now staff are better trained ( should know the difference between mandate and law about masks - even officers can’t ask us to keep mask on if it is not a law : ) ) otherwise I like there better than others planet fitness around , just sad on Saturday they close at 7 pm. I’ll give 5 stars cause new gym is a new gym !

Management at this location is terrible! Falsely advertised as a 24 hour location when they close at 11 because they are incredibly understaffed. Employees weren't up to date with the mandates and were still enforcing policies that were lifted by the Board of Health for indoor spaces in Saugus as of Feb 7th. The gym has an insane amount of hazardous water leaks throughout the entire gym floor, locker rooms are always freezing, and the floor is not leveled so weights will roll around if not placed up right. When I brought this up to the front desk employee(bald male) who wasn't wearing a name tag and who also didn't bother acknowledging me or my guest when we checked in all he said was "I can't do anything about that."
