No complaints about the facility itself - plenty of machines, generally clean, friendly staff - fine for the price point you're paying to have access to these things.
The entire class/training schedule that is online and on screens at the facility, however, is a lie. You can sign up for these offerings all you want, but there is no staff supporting those programs. Was bummed to learn that, but it sounds like this is not unique to this location.

Very frustrating equipments here . The hydro beds have no heat and are leaking.
The massage chairs are old and need replacement.
Some of the cycles are not working good.
Made several complaints to staff but it’s like the management does not care about the quality of service to the people. This , I think is very unfair.
Please try to make the machines work right and make our visits to this outlet worthwhile. Thanks

On April 16, I went to present my doctor’s note to re-freeze my membership due to medical reasons. The original freeze was scheduled to end on April 17.

Denzel was pleasant at first and began assisting me with the freeze. However, he then informed me that I would be charged for the billing period of April 10 to May 11. This did not make sense to me, as the doctor’s letter was dated April 17—the same date the original freeze was set to end.

When I asked to speak with his manager, he claimed he was the manager. I explained that it didn’t make sense to be charged for a period when my account had already been frozen as of April 10. I expressed that this explanation made no sense to me. I said, “It might make sense to you because you work here.”

He responded sarcastically, “It makes sense to me because I work here.” I then asked, “What was the point of the freeze if I’m going to be charged during the time my membership is frozen?” Again, he responded sarcastically, “For medical reasons.”

Denzel’s behavior was completely unacceptable and disrespectful. I strongly doubt he is actually a manager and believe he may have been dishonest about that.

As a result of this poor interaction and the confusion regarding billing, I requested that my membership be cancelled. I received a confirmation email that same day, April 16. However, I was still charged on April 17 for my membership, which is completely unacceptable.

I expect someone to reach out to me to resolve this issue promptly.

Overall equipment is good a verity of exercise machines with some free weights. Just frustrated with equipment maintenance and repair. Any machine that is out of service takes monthly to get repaired, recently a stationary bike went out of service. I left for Florida when I returned 2 months later still out of service now a second is out of service and third cup holder is broken off. Only 5 of these in gym so 40% out of service, now we pay an annual fee for maintenance! So I would expect we get something for our money like maintenance not just an extra fee to the business.

They were out of the disposable eye protection for tanning. I was sold eye protection that was literally non functional. The string that should hold the eyewear up in no way,shape or form fit into the pinpoint holes in the eyewear. The associate at the front desk also attempted to put the eyewear together, despite it’s clear impossibilty. I requested a refund and was told that he could not issue me one- I paid cash just hand it back sir. He said Id have to come back during 9am-5pm (working hours) to get my money back. While it really was not an expensive purchase, it is still poor business practice to sell a customer complete garbage and then basically deny a refund if I have to return during working hours.

On many occasions the person who is supposed to open the gym , 5am on weekdays , and 7am on the weekends , shows up 20 to 30 minutes late . Really aggravating, I pay good money to be a member at Planet Fitness in Stoughton, and repeatedly on weekends, employees do not show up to open the club on time. People who are disciplined enough to take the time to work out in the morning, are usually disciplined in other areas of their lives and therefore we do not have time for this! This is not how you should run a business. The owner needs to address this problem immediately and perhaps open the gym himself in the morning until he can find trustworthy employees. I Wasn't allowed in to the facility and was told to leave!
I happen to be the guest and my friend was 5 minutes out. Seeing how I was early, I might as well go use the bathroom and wait inside. However when I checked in, I was stopped by the manager, Tavian. I was made aware that I wasn't allow to be inside the facility, unless my friend was there. He then to told me to leave! 😧
Never have I been not allowed to enter into a facility because I was alone. I was not allowed to step foot inside, period! I was completely unwelcome. I will not sign up for a company that puts a fool, in a leadership's position.

Staff is late, when they are on time they don't open up until a little after 5pm, it could be freezing out. I. My opinion not enough equipment, there's only 2 chest exercise machines, one shoulder, 1 bicep, and 2 tricep machines. I think there is a very cheap feeling to the facility, i use a mat sometimes they tell me im not allowed to take out of a certain area! This particular facility is near my friends house, I live in Holbrook but I am in Stoughton more.Also, they seem to hire all young inexperienced teens. even the music they play stinks. All in all I have to stop going here, you can only put up with hoping things will change for the better for so long...

I've been paying for planet fitness since 2019 and only from 2020 I have been using the gym every day. Today I had the misfortune of arriving at the gym and seeing all my stuff thrown into a garbage bag because I left my personal stuff inside the locker overnight. My lock was also broken.
I have never felt so humiliated in my entire life. I could have been warned that I was not supposed to leave my belongings in the locker since I was doing that for a year and anyone has never said anything about it, that I would take them out of it myself. They just violated my privacy.
When I contacted the manager, she didn't even say sorry or anything. But I was very unhappy with that situation.

I used to work out at Stoughton location for almost 2 years and because I’d go from gym straight to work used to shower there and kept some personal stuff locked in the locker with all my fitness gear. This morning when I got to the gym my lock was broken and all my stuff was gone. When I talked to the short blond hair manager she mentioned that the cleaning lady took all the stuff that was in the lockers overnight and put them in a trash bag. Funny thing is that my expensive snickers was not there. And when I said they could’ve just left a note in the locker asking me to go to the front desk but she said they are not supposed to leave notes.
All the staff was always very friendly but the manager. She didn’t care for the situation nor for the missing stuff.

Time to get rid of the covid weight gain. PF has gone to QR scan instead of key tags which is fine by me. Seems to be a few more cleaning stations. Not as many people as pre- covid which is good. Their app will also tell you peak usage times for your pf so you can go when there's not as many people

Said i needed to pull my mask up more when the 2 people on treadmills next to me had no masks on at all...should enforce rules with everyone or not at all...i ended up counting 8 people improperly wearing masks working out throughout the gym, yet i was the only one talked to.

Saw a similar review but I was also appalled at the non-use of mask. I started going back to PF Stoughton because masks were required, but this is not being enforced as was stated. Either enforce or be honest about requirements. You will lose customers during this pandemic if members are being irresponsible and not adhering to gym requirements. Standard PF gym. Convenient location. Star count specifically for the fact cons outweigh pros. They're still green but need some big improvements.

Pros:
- smaller than the bigger PFs
- clean and maintained fairly well
- broken machines are resolved swiftly
- staff greets with a smile usually
- they have taken into consideration a few changes (after a couple months of guests requests they finally added the CC to the TVs)
- equipment works effectively

Cons:
- MIRRORs are super warped. Do not look in the mirrors, headache impending.
- lesser equipment (e.g. the PF360 is barely a 180 with worthless rope pulldown and battle ropes, the yoga mats are wicked small and not conducive for using..etc)
- 4 or 5 staffers that don't do much
- safety problem regards (water leaking from the ceiling onto a tv with a bucket under tv risking electrical water damage)
- Staff overrules guests for the music selection app (not a great idea for a gym) and plays their own music preference which is not conducive as workout music, so headphones required.
- half TV's are on the worst possible channels with fake garbage like discovery channel and other nonsense (no one wants to watch naked and afraid) which they claim is a "corporate regulated issue"
- staff doesn't always reinforce the mission statement (e.g. witness numerous incidences of people wearing inappropriate gym clothing [or lack there of], people don't follow the 30 minute circuit and no one stops them, etc)

Awful experience to the point I'm ready to cancel my membership. Went to the gym with friends to workout together. One of us more experienced with gym life was there showing us equipment. Was approached 2 different times accused of personal training. Got to the point where instead of being continually harrassed we all left. Mind you all of us are individual black card members. I have not stepped foot in the facility since then. Next trip in will be to cancel my membership Hopefully my other friends follow suit and cancel their memberships too and take our business elsewhere we we arent judged.
