I truly hope someone can explain what happened to the gym. The person who approved this change definitely does not seem to go to the gym. The layout was perfect before now there are only a handful of machines left.

I’m sharing this as constructive feedback, because I really want this place to succeed. A few important points:

Having two machines for each exercise was much better and helped avoid long wait times.
• The previous layout made much more sense. Now, doing exercises directly facing other members is uncomfortable and awkward.
• Overall, the gym is now showing a clear lack of equipment compared to before.

My husband and I will wait about a month to see if things improve. If not, unfortunately we will need to switch gyms.

I genuinely hope management reconsiders this change many members loved how the gym used to be.

I don’t like the new layout, removing the 30 minute circuit is a huge loss. The previous set up allowed me to feel comfortable and safe since I am at a beginner level- while getting a solid workout. There are now 6-7 machines labeled as full body circuit in the main machine area front and center. The wait to do the whole circuit is long because people are spending 20+ minutes with one machine. It also seems like there are less machines overall. I really liked it here but may start looking for a new gym now.

Disappointing redesign. It’s as if the goal was to eliminate equipment and have people standing around in all the open space. If that’s the case, very successful. Also, the layout doesn’t make sense, leg stuff next to ab items, in the same space.

Hopefully they aren’t done but I think that they are. Was a great gym. Now average.

The prior setup Made sense. You could tell someone put thought into the placement of the equipment. The new set up is all over the place and makes no sense. The gym looks bare and empty now. Lost a ton of machines especially core ones for a few squat racks. You can tell the new design was an after thought poorly executed. Was one of the best laid out planet fitnesses. Not anymore sadly 5 starts to 3 now.

John's a great guy at the front desk. The App is easy to use as a first timer! As a fitness trainer/life coach with NO AFFILIATION with planet fitness, I chose this gym as it was in close proximity to my client. It's clean, up to date, offers everything, and of course it's the judgement free zone (as everywhere should be)

I honestly like everything about Planet Fitness, the friendly and respectful environment makes us feel at ease. All the modern equipment and the attention of the employees who are always kind. Evan and Luis are the best part of my PF experience! As the first faces in the gym they always have a cheerful attitude and make me feel happy/welcome to be at the gym. Shout out to EVAN who helped me get a physical scan card after all other staff at over 6 locations between Maryland and Massachusetts said “they don’t give them you have to use your phone” BS!!! Evan asked me if I wanted one and I told him I’ve been only asking for one since I signed up months ago! He solved my problem immediately and knew how to do everything so it could be smooth going forward. He solved my months long chief complaint with PF and so great, helpful, cheerful staff is the reason I would mostly come back here. They do an excellent job representing the brand and definitely deserve a raise!! lol but seriously these boys deserve a shout out and THANKS!

Good luck cancelling this membership. What a joke. Everything was good until you want to cancel and then they hold your bank account hostage. If you move out of the area you need to go in person to your home club or send a certified letter to cancel. 🤯

They can Xfer your membership to another club but then you still have to jump through hoops to cancel. Yes, I consider having to visit a business in person a wild inconvenience to cancel something especially in this day and age.

They need your in person signature to cancel on a month to month membership and advertise “no commitments and no contracts”.

They make up lies so they do not have to refund clients, and charge you double what they say the subscription costs. When you call about issues or questions, I had the manager laughing on the other end of the phone at me while I expressed my concerns. I have been going there for years now. I love the hours and equipment. What I don’t like is the turn over in morning staff. We just get to know them and they’re gone why? It tells me money, management, and treatment. The other is they just did a huge update on all there equipment which was great. But with that said the tanning beds are old cracked and broken. This is benefit I paid for and use. I have tan for many years because I burn so easily in the sun. I start in the tanning bed since I’ve been there they have never updated them and we pay for that and when it comes to changing the bulbs they go way over. This needs attention and I hope it gets taken care of. Thank you

This is the worse planet fitness location that I’ve been, always crowded and they don't say anything about people sitting on devices for hours using their phones instead of exercising and going out. dirty bathroom, full of hair on the floor. I’ll start with the negatives. After Covid PF should have gone back to 24/4 it was really convenient when it was open 24hrs. It closing at 10pm M-TH is really not ideal for people who work 2nd shift or 3rd. The stretching area really doesn’t feel like there’s enough stretching room for more Matts and also should have another spider stretching bars. The free weight dumbbells the two benches the racks should be moved all the way where the yellow and black room are with the ropes. Also annoyed with not being able to carry around a mini bag and by mean a mini bag I mean the spaghetti strap bag with me at all times to carry my water bottle, towel, lifting gloves, and my mini matt. I need to preface this by saying that the teen program they implement for the summer is a great idea But... It needs direction and supervision. There should be a staff member on duty to monitor the kids behavior, to teach them how to use the machines, and to coach them on common courtesy. 3 kids have been on a Smith machine for 45 min now... while many adults are waiting in line to get their workout done and head home. You will lose membership if this is not properly managed

Went in and canceled my membership- all that was said to me was "Thank you have a good day" - I wake up to a payment and overdraft fee. Im a lil torn because i like coming here.. However ive had late fee charges almost every month for the past year give or take a few. Ive shown my bank statements to prove it. Im never neg. In my bank so it doesn't make sense..ive called corporate..ive spoken with employees that forward my concerns to their manager..and that manager never calls me to discuss theses outrageous charges. I went to sign up for a Black Card membership and was turned away as I did not have a bank account and I am absolutely not paying for a whole year just because I don't. I am disabled and want to get in better shape and I get enough money on my government issued debit card every month to easily pay for a Black Card membership but since it is not linked to a bank account I for some reason can't use it. Even though I use it to pay for my internet and streaming services. I hope that this giant corporation can be more accommodating to the disabled and poor but as it stands now this place that touts acceptance doesn't accept us.

Update a year later June 30 th 2022 and I have had my camel pack with 4 liters of water and my diabetic medicine and epi pen on my person for the past year always place my bag at my feet and the new manager said I have to leave my medical hydration bag at a locker thinking about canceling my memeber ship after a years and look for a different gym . I run 3 miles on the tread mill with my camel pack for a year to drink water no problems in the past year new employee ruined it . Contacted the other planet fitness and asked about this they laughed out loud. So now you get a lower rating went from 5 stars to 2 not happy your opening yourself up for a law suit if I have a medical issue since this is discrimination in a judgement free zone now you get 2 stars and look at the picture my camel pack right against the machine like is has been placed the past year at all locations.

I have been in gyms for 35 years. PF is always clean, everything works, none of the pads are cracked like in most gyms, high quality treadmills, modern weights & machines, air conditioning, free combination lock lockers, massage chairs, low crowds and low prices. I miss the days of gyms with hot tubs and swimming pools and I would pay a lot extra for them, but PF is still a 5 star gym.

This is the second PF that I have been a member of, and I love this place. The gym is always clean, and even with the restrictions in place there is more than enough equipment to get in pre-planned workout. The staff is great, always friendly and professional. This is by far the best value when it comes to local gyms, so much so I just upgraded to the Black Card.

I have read all of the negative comments and the people who posted them either work for another gym or are likely the type to complain about free money being too green. Check it out for yourself. I don't think that you'll be disappointed.
