I would give it a zero if possible. I've been having the same issue for months. The app keeps telling me that my payment isn't going through. I have consistently checked- my checking account and back up card are correct. Those work outside of this app. I have been calling many times with the promise of receiving a call from their manager (who seems to never be there in person). I have never received a call from one.

Amazing staff, cleanest PF I've been to. They really take great care of this place including updating all the machines and handles that go along with it. When a machine is broken, it's fixed within a reasonable time frame. New machines!

My only complaint is the water pressure on the fountains on floor 2.

Gym is fine. Staff is pleasant. Management is MIA. Have been chasing them for three weeks regarding a billing issue and can’t be bothered to return my calls.

Note - if you have two forms of payment on the app, it may not be enough to prevent shady late payment charges or them running your card for $100 in a single month all without notice.

*follow-up - two months since I posted and despite the comment below still no response from the owner. Had to cancel my membership and dispute charges with my cc instead of working out what was probably system glitch. Unfortunate but be warned if you consider this giving this location your business.

On a positive note, every member of the staff was very emphatic and responsive… just not the owner 🤦

I've always gone to Planet Fitness. I've been member on and off for years at several locations due to to fact I move around and travel a lot. The West Roxbury location is great. I always find it clean and the equipment in good working condition.

Some of the machines are broken or bad working parts but don’t get fixed it seems. Hours doesn’t seem consistent with the hours posted on official site. As an example, it says Independence Day has regular hours but they put a piece of paper on the door saying it’s until 1pm.

Manager has told me repeatedly she will take care of an issue and doesn’t do it. I’ve gone to another club for help. Luckily that manager is reaching out to corporate. In the meantime I am looking for a new gym to join and will be ending my contract with planet fitness. Not worth being lied to.

Been to a lot of planet fitness’s and this one’s the dirtiest I’ve been to. Judging from the reviews addressing this issue 8-12 months ago they don’t plan on making changes anytime soon. I guess it’s too much to ask for a bathroom stall to have a latch on it while you do your business, a whopping 7 dollars on Amazon for a replacement latch, times are tough.

Recently, it has also turned into an unsupervised daycare center for minors, who disregard gym rules and use the space for play rather than exercise. The staff's response to these issues has been indifferent, often directing customers to contact management without providing any indication of plans to address the problems. Instead of offering generic responses, management could better serve customers by outlining concrete steps to resolve these issues. Furthermore, equipment problems persist, with two-thirds of the water fountains/filler stations not functioning, and cleaning supplies for equipment frequently unavailable due to broken or out-of-stock bottles.

This planet fitness has a nearby dedicated parking lot that always has spaces so it’s quick to get in and out even for 10 or 20 minutes of working out. The premises and equipment are scrupulously clean and I often see staff members cleaning. All the equipment works and there’s an excellent variety, with two of many weight machines. The staff is helpful when I have questions. And I love how extensive the hours are!

If you want to build up your immune system, this is the place to go. Start by looking at the stairs going up or down your choice. You will see that it hasn't been cleaned for months. Pink and black mold in the showers, hair, tissue, paper towels, shampoo bottles, and bars of soap, and sometimes clothes are scattered about and left sometimes for days before being removed. I'm a youtuber, and I travel the country full-time and we use these facilities every day. I am shocked that anyone says this place is clean. I will return in three or so days and do a follow up, next time I will add photos to show you all what I mean, I'm positive it will be the same or worse. Oh, I lost my comb, came back today and apparently I left my comb on the sink where I found it again. Yes, it's that bad.

Came back after almost a week of my last visit and review. I left a small piece of my soap on the floor next to a band-aid, and yes, they are still there. The soap is smaller now due to washing away. To the owner, it is not my responsibility to talk to the manager that is working here. If they cared to begin with, it wouldn't be in this condition. Your responsibility is to follow up, come to your store and see if the conditions are to your liking and go from there. I think inspections should be held by the health department for these types of facilities.

My keys were stolen out my locker and someone stole my car!!! When I informed the front desk staff the girl told me someone else just had something stolen as well. Do NOT leave anything in a locker unless it is locked. Clearly there is a theft issue and they should have a sign posted about this issue or warn their members somehow. Absolutely disgusting

Clean gym. Always has spray bottles to wipe down the machines. Friendly staff and clients. Machines are in working order. It seems the broken machines . Which I was told most likely be fixed in a week. Seems to be taking a lot longer to have them fixed. Difficult when it is the one & only Seated elliptical machine. There are no duplicates. I have called to check that it was in working order. That was after waiting 2 1/2 weeks. I Went the next day to use it it’s still broken!!!! I was told the machine repair was done. It still is in desperate need of repair it will not allow you to sit and alternate handles and foot gliders. Which is a major safety concern when using this type of machine. I have reached out to many head staff and am really frustrated and disappointed. I am disabled and joined planet fitness to keep my leg mobility using this machine. I was there every morning 6 days a week. It has now been an additional 4 weeks. When will this machine be fixed I am being charged and not able to use the machine I joined to use.. I was initially glad I joined the West Roxbury Planet Fitness. Now not so much.

This gym has new equipment but its too small with many stairs! I cant fight the size because thats all they got but even the TVs??? Most people use the TV watch to time their workouts but this place has none of that!!! I would buy a digital clock with seconds and place in each room if you can’t afford TVs.

Clean, new, affordable, surprisingly easy parking (weekday mornings at least), everything anyone would need to get a complete workout in. It’s not a huge gym, but with 3 floors they’ve made great use of the space. Never too busy (it’s early on, I know) but with the amount of cardio and fitness equipment I can’t imagine one ever finding themselves waiting for a machine.

To the person who left a 1 star review for the gym not being open, it’s because it wasn’t open, yet… I assure you the place is fully staffed bright and early at all the times it’s supposed to be.

Edit- taking a star away because the AC has been down for an extended amount of time and management hasn’t thought to put even a few fans in and around what is already a hot moist environment, never mind the multiple heatwaves this summer. I don’t expect it to be fixed immediately,
But when you’re going on a month with no moving air in the weights area, at least invest in a few fans to help keep the equipment from getting too slippery.

Gave it 4 stars because there's really no area to use a mat and do body weight exercises. There's a tiny space on the 2nd floor but it literally only fits one mat.
Also for such big spaces on the 2nd/3rd floors there's no designated cleaning stations. So you have to wander around looking for a spray bottle and towels. I think each floor has 2 spray bottles which is not enough, specially if the floor is busy.

Just opened up today, I went and signed , the facility it's super clean , there are lots of new machines , new equipment , staffs are awesome and very professional...I can't wait to keep going back for my workouts.
Parking spaces are behind the building and also you can park on the street in front of the gym , well done Planet Fitness!!!!!
