I’ve been attending Prototype for 3 years now, and it has truly become a special part of my routine. The coaches are incredibly dedicated and knowledgeable; they always take the time to explain movements, ensure proper form, and encourage everyone to push themselves safely. The group classes are awesome, with a great mix of challenge and fun. What really sets this place apart is the camaraderie. Everyone cheers each other on, no matter your fitness level. It feels less like a gym and more like a community, and I’m super happy to be a part of it.

I joined Prototype in April of 2024 and my 12 year old old son joined that summer. It is the very definition of community. It’s such a welcoming atmosphere. All of the coaches are kind, positive, encouraging and extremely knowledgeable! They are constantly looking to add new programs and equipment. I highly recommend an individual program design with one of the coaches. I’ve worked with Mike since I started and learned so much. Steve has been a blessing for my 13 yr old who was extremely hesitant to do any type of strength/ athletic training. Highly recommend the infrared sauna and ice bath in the recovery area!

Becoming a member at Prototype has been such a great experience! The variation and workouts makes class interesting and keeps me coming back. The coaches are patient and willing to work with people of different ability levels. I joined Prototype about 5 months ago after my wife encouraged me to give it a try. I had done CrossFit over 10 years ago and I was stuck in a routine of home workouts where I wasn’t challenging myself. I was hooked immediately. The people , the environment and the coaching are top notch. There are people of all ages here, and everyone feels welcomed and supported. The workouts are varied and as intense as you make them. I noticed the results after only a few weeks. The best part is that you just show up. There’s no worrying about “what am I going to do today at the gym?” You get a combination of cardio and weight training in every session. If you are looking to join a great community of people and get fit, I can’t recommend Prototype enough. Honestly it is life changing-you won’t regret it.

I have been a member of Prototype Training Systems since March 2025. Joining the gym has been one of the best decisions I have made! I was never someone who lifted weights prior to joining Prototype and now I am comfortable and confident joining in all of the classes. The coaches make the workouts accessible and modify to meet each member's needs. The coaches worked specifically with me when I was injured to ensure I could participate in a safe and effective way. Prototype Training Systems is a great place to work out and/or receive more in depth personal training. I joined CFP in February of 2013 after realizing I needed to get into better shape. When I first started I could not work out more than twice a week but I soon started to come 4-5 a week. Since then, I have come consistently and I could not be happier. They have a great staff and a great community.

I’ve been with Prototype for over two years now, and the growth I’ve experienced—both in strength and in my abilities—has been incredible. I used to struggle with lower back pain, but everything changed when I joined Prototype. One of the coaches suggested that my pain was due to a lack of back strength, and he was absolutely right. After focusing on strengthening those muscles and perfecting my form, my back has never felt better or stronger.

JOIN THIS GYM! Because it’s more than a gym. It does have fun and challenging workouts, it does have skilled coaches- it is also an amazing community. I joined Prototype in 2019 when I injured my back. I knew I needed to get stronger to get my back to heal. My body has gotten stronger and stable with the help of the coaches at Prototype. Joining Prototype four years ago was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The caliber of coaching is top-notch—the coaches are skilled, attentive, and always focused on ensuring proper form. Wow does time fly. I walked into the Prototype gym about 7yrs ago. Little did I know what I was getting myself into. I was very hesitant about joining a CrossFit gym because of hearing lots of horror stories, but I was tired lumbering around the traditional gyms wondering what workouts to do so gave this place a try and 7yrs later, I couldn't be happier with the decision. There are too many good things I can tell you about Prototype, but I will touch upon just a few. 1. The coaches. Whether new staff or old, they are all held to the highest standards and care deeply about safety and your well-being. 2. The constant innovation. The owner and staff are always bringing new techniques, equipment and a holistic approach to health and wellness 3. Camaraderie, EVERYONE is treated with respect and like family. The gym holds lots of social events, some involving workouts and some just for fun. So, with all that said, if you are interested in tying a new gym or just a beginner looking to start, I highly recommend giving Prototype a try.

I have been to almost all Cross-fit training centers around Westborough Area and Prototype Training System is my best pick among all. Other places had more of cardio based workouts and less on strength exercises. This place has wonderful combination of Strength and Cardio based workout plans. I never got bored with their type of workout plans. Biggest asset for this place is training area is very wide and open (Other cross fit studios are really small and I use to feel suffocated), Recovery zone is added advantage. This place can accommodate max capacity and they have very convenient class schedules through out the day. You have access to all kind of Strengthening equipments. If weather is good you will absolutely love outdoor run around the building.
Every member of Training staff is very friendly and they will demonstrate every bit of exercise and correct your postures (Which is absolutely required when we deal with heavy weights to avoid injuries). Lots of fun activities always. And they do have fun activities planned for kids during school off days.
This place is incredible and all we need to do is just wake up and hit the gym, rest is taken care by them.
Its just been less than 6 months here I could see huge difference physically and mentally. Thanks for all the support from Prototype Training System.

Sweat, Sore Muscles, and the Best Time Ever!
I joined Prototype thinking I’d just give it a try for a month… now, I’m practically living here. This place is addictive! The coaches are like fitness ninjas—they somehow make you lift heavier than you thought possible, all while convincing you it was your idea in the first place.
The workouts are a mix of “I’m totally crushing this” and “Whose idea was this? Oh wait, it was mine.” But somehow, you finish every class feeling like a superhero (who may or may not need a beer and a nap immediately after).
The best part? The community. It’s like working out with your best friends, except they’re also sweating, groaning, and high-fiving you for surviving. Everyone here is awesome, and you’ll quickly feel like part of the family—just a really sweaty, sore family.
Highly recommend Prototype if you like working hard, laughing through the pain, and finding muscles you didn’t know existed!

When I joined back in 2017 I was looking for a gym that would motivate me to want to wake up work out. Prototype is that place and does a great job with mixing up the workouts so it never gets boring and makes me want to keep going in. Also through the community and being able to see familiar faces each day it helps on those days I need extra motivation to know I’ll see friends. The coaches do a great job at going over the modifications upfront when talking about the workout to the class so you always have options that work with your ability and never feel singled out. I can’t say enough great things about Prototype Training Systems. I think the fact that I’ve been a member since 2012 says a lot about what kind of place this is. The workouts are great, the coaching is top notch, and the community is the best! Some people might be afraid to come into a CrossFit gym, but not this one. The impact i’ve had since joining Prototype has been incredible. It has made a tremendous difference in not only my physical fitness but also my mental fitness. The sports-specific training has significantly improved my strength and agility on the soccer field, allowing me to perform at my best. Beyond the physical aspects, Prototype also helped me develop a mental toughness that prepares me for high-pressure situations, like big games or even important tests at school. The highlight of my week is going to see Brian at CFP!! About a year or so ago I had bad sciatica pain. I'm on my feet all day for my job, and I wasn't standing correctly. Started to see Brian and he has helped me tremendously!! With his knowledge and expertise, and me putting in the work the pain is gone!! I have been associated with Prototype Training from when they first opened. The functional strength training has been very beneficial for me . I have had several unrated injuries over the years and some that have resulted in surgery. The training I have received helped me recover in record time . Recently I had full hip replacement surgery and I was swing a golf club a month after. I don’t believe that would have been possible without the training and strength that I learned at Prototype .

I’ve been coming to Prototype since August 2014. I got my father a gift card for entry and classes and month membership for Christmas 2016, yes still there today! I moved 15 minutes further from where I was originally took 7 months off and came back! This place is awesome, the coaches are top notch, they are there because they want to be and care to be. Everyone is very welcoming, you could be brand new to CrossFit and weight lifting and you’ll feel as comfortable as can be. I always recommend this gym to anyone looking to get into it. On top of the CrossFit and weight lifting they have an awesome nutrition program. I worked with Jon for about 2 years off and on and I have now been implementing everything I learned over that time and hitting new goals. The stuff I learned here is stuff people should be taught in school. After you go through a program and hit your goals and find out you can continue to do so on your own and it’s basic health, it’s extremely rewarding and gratifying. Prototype is the best gym around. I have been a member since I moved to the area in 2015. The coaches are friendly and so knowledgeable and helpful. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been there, they are always watching to make sure your form is good and are always there to help make adjustments to scale your workout as needed. The community is the best - I have made many friends that go outside the gym and always look forward to seeing friendly faces when I walk in.
They have navigated the pandemic in such a high class manner, adjusting on the fly, communicating clearly and promptly, and accommodating people both in the gym and in virtual classes.

I’m sitting here at the close of Black Friday reflecting on stuff I may need even after enjoying the things I am thankful for inspired by yesterday’s dinner. What I am struck by is an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my great fortune of crossing paths with Prototype Training Systems. The folks running the show are sincerely kind people dedicated to helping the members. Their consistent/persistent emphasis on correct/safe workouts, their concern for each members’ whole body and mind health, their unbending adherence to COVID compliance are three examples of something special I found in little ol’ Westboro. I could also mention the nutritionists on staff, the youth programs dedicated to children learning about positive personal health and the charity work they perform for deserving causes. And yet I could still go on! However, I need to wrap this post up by saying it’s been close to a year and the 20+ pounds I lost has remained “off”. I’m psyched I joined Prototype Training Solutions and recommend you do the same!

TLDR: it works! Try it!
CrossFit saved my life. I was in the midst of a divorce and had lost 50 pounds due to stress. I worked from a desk, and was a couch potato at night, that couldn’t bench press my own body weight. I was on sleeping pills, anti-depressants and was not eating. Mike encouraged me to stop by and try a class. So I did! It was a small class. I think there were 3 of us, and I had brought a friend. Brian was the instructor. He had a quiet, calm voice. He asked to look at my gait, and what sports I’d played, while he probably sized up how hard he could push me. :) I remember being a little sore after class that day but I went back the next day. And it was after one of those first week’s classes that I remember driving home happy! I was staying with friends and I burst into the kitchen smiling from ear to ear as they were getting ready for the day. Endorphins! And I was hooked. I had been a member of many gyms. Mostly for less than a year. The habit never stuck. Gyms don’t give personalized instruction every day, nor do the members cheer you on and congratulate you after a workout. Gyms don’t have a long term plan or program. Mike does! This sh*t works. I gained the 50 lbs back. I lifted 400 lbs. I did a muscle up! My advice to you is to try it. Pay for a month. If you like it, you will wonder why you didn’t go sooner. If you don’t like it, you might like the people and coaches and make some friends.

I started working out with Mike 4 years ago. As a single mom of 2 young children, I wanted to get out of the house and feel good about myself again.

I have been working out here for about two years now and I have enjoyed every minute of it. As an aspiring college athlete my trainer Steve Ciminio always knew what he was talking about and was able to help me over every obstacle including my ACL tear. Because of this gym and the fantastic trainers there, I am able to play soccer at the highest level once again after only 9 months. The thing I love the most is walking in there and noticing people of all different shapes and sizes working and pushing their hardest to become better verisons of themselves. Prototype Training Systems (PTS) is my happy place. Where else do you work hard, get coached daily to do things you have never done before (olympic lifting, strict pull ups, handstand push ups) and meet some of the best people in your life? It is PTS! I have been coming to the gym coming up on 8 years now. I love showing up and having everything set to go for me...equipment, mobility work (so important as I get older) skill development and a workout. I also love that everything we do at the gym is scalable to take into account where I am on my fitness journey. I have made great friends with the people at the gym. My son and I joined Prototype Systems / CFP when it opened in 2012. Definitely one of the best decisions ever! I initially thought it seemed expensive but after years of throwing away money on gym memberships and getting NOTHING in return, I decided to give it a try. We were immediately hooked. The workouts are varied and fun. Everything is scaled appropriately to your level of fitness so that you never worry about getting hurt. They are designed to allow you to grow and take on more as you progress. However the #1 component is the community. We’ve both made so many great friends and acquaintances of all ages over our years there. And working out with friends actually makes you look forward to attending classes! My son literally grew up there - he was 13 when he started and 8 years later he has transformed into a well-rounded athlete. Prototype Systems has helped him with every sport he plays, and the coaches have been incredible mentors and friends to him. I work out so I can continue to do the things I love (hiking, running, biking, dancing) whenever I want to - PTS/CFP makes this possible while making it fun. A few years ago I finally got my husband to join after years of sports related injuries. He now works one on one with Joe Black, and has gained back so much mobility and strength. In addition, my 83 year old mom works one on one with Jon Collette - she loves it too! I don’t know of any other gym that can accommodate 3 generations with such amazing results. I would recommend this facility to any age or level of fitness - they will tailor the program to your abilities and you will see the results.

I had already tried 4-5 Gyms (each one lasting a few months with minimal results) before joining PTS.
Firstly, let me start with the crux, if you plan to join a Gym, it must be PTS. Let’s dive into - Why.
Not just for the coaches, but for this community which ends up being your extended family.
Here is my story, being a smoker for about 20+ years, the decision to join Cross-Fit wasn't going to be easy.
I must confess, within a few days of joining, I had to make a choice.
This choice was the influence of mindset induced during the first few weeks of joining PTS, engulfed by the community of great people around, with whom we workout each day. I did quit smoking within 3 weeks of joining PTS.
PTS is truly about getting you to a growth mindset, exploring your capabilities, making you believe it's not about current boundaries but beyond them.
I have not just been part of only the Cross-Fit program but also nutrition with coach Jon, and the results are phenomenal. The coaches at PTS offer personal training, small group training, seminars, and nutrition. I can't stress more, how much fun and engaged coaches make our every workout.

I joined Prototype in December 2017. My main purpose was to manage weight and get active. I got results, coaches work really hard and focus on technique and form. The nutrition program gives great insight about food without restricting you from eating anything. Prototype members community is also amazing who support cheer on your successes.

I have been a member of Prototype since 2017 and it's one of the best decisions I have made. The coaches are so great and they are constantly offering new programming to meet the needs of their members. I have personally taken advantage of many of the programs offered at Prototype including nutrition counseling, ENDURE running program, virtual classes, and even signed up my son up for personal training which he loves. There is something for everyone at all ages and fitness levels. The members and coaches are great and always communicating and getting everyone involved to live a healthier life!

I have been a loyal member of Prototype since 2012 and I simply cannot say enough good things about it! I've been a member of Prototype for a few years and it has been an amazing experience. When the pandemic started and gyms had to close, I was worried about how I would continue my routine. Well I didn't need to worry because Mike and all the coaches had a lot of great planning in the works. My trainer Jon showed up at my house with loaner equipment and said we could work out over Zoom. Honestly it didn't sound like it could work at first, but we started immediately and it quickly became part of my routine (and sanity!). I also got back into classes via Zoom and have enjoyed many challenges and other events via Zoom (even Bingo back in the beginning of quarantine). The 21 Day Challenge has been great so far with all the fitness, nutrition and mindfulness aspects. Thank you Leah and Jon for organizing this event to engage members and the greater community <3

Thirteen days ago Prototype Training Systems started what they called the 21 Day Challenge. This was open to the community at large as a public service. Each day, challenges for fitness, nutrition and wellness are sent via email and each person has an assigned coach. Zoom meetings for wellness and cooking shows are included. The dedication and commitment of the coaches is exemplary and has inspired me to take part in the "Challenge" and commit personally to improving my fitness for mind and body. If anyone is looking for private trainers or group classes, I would highly recommend Prototype Training Systems in Westborough. I look forward to continuing my fitness journey with them.

Prototype has been my happy place for almost 8 years. I have met so many wonderful people, been involved with the community, became physically and mentally stronger and just have so much fun. I was really worried about what was going to happen with the gym during the closing. Prototype Training Systems let no one down. They have gone above and beyond with all the virtual classes, challenges, programs, zoom announcements. They keep us informed daily. At the moment, we are doing a 21 day challenge. It focuses on fitness, nutrition and wellness. Everyday there are challenges and you get points and can win prizes. They have weekly cooking classes, meditation, mobility and so many other things. I get really excited about waking up and seeing what the challenges are for the day. The coaches are awesome and they really care about us. It really is my second family and I don’t know what I would do without them. I bet there are a couple hundred more people that feel exactly the way I do. It’s a big family.

I have been a member since they opened in 2012. While my fitness goals have changed throughout the years, what has stayed constant is the great coaching; fantastic programming and awesome community. I have been very impressed with Prototype’s response to the Covid lockdown. I've been a member of Prototype Training Systems since 2014. The coaches and staff are extremely competent and very well-trained and most importantly, they truly CARE about their members and their well-being and overall fitness. They also offer top-notch nutrition plans and support. PTS's programming is second-to-none, constantly varied, and always scalable for any level of fitness. You are constantly challenged and never bored of the same old routine! The team consistently supplements programming and classes by implementing fun and interactive challenges meant to improve members' habits as it relates to fitness, nutrition, and mental health/ mindfulness.
As for the community, the MANY members are supportive and close-knit and among them, I've made some of the best friends I've ever had. I had minimal experience with CrossFit prior to joining Prototype Training Systems. They take precautions to make sure that everyone that joins has the basic knowledge needed to ensure safety when doing workouts. The coaches go above and beyond in providing scaling options and encouragement in reaching goals.
I have been a member there for a year and a half and I couldn’t be happier. Prototype is so much more than a gym. It is a community of supportive individuals at all physical levels with various goals.
Virtual and in-person options are available which has been especially helpful during an era when meeting up isn’t always an option. I would highly recommend Prototype to anyone regardless of ability.

I moved to MA and was eager to get settled, find a place to workout and start a routine. When I walked in to inquire about CFP, I knew instantly this was the place! The owner, Mike, was super friendly and provided all the information I needed to get started. Every single coach is superb at training striking the right balance between getting the form right and pushing you to keep improving yourself all in a positive atmosphere (good nutrition too!). The members are welcoming and encouraging and have become friends. When COVID hit, Mike and his team immediately kept us connected and figured out successful ways to keep us exercising virtually because he was driven by his passion and vision for CFP. He even had masks made for us early in the pandemic to keep us healthy! It is more than a place to exercise, it is a fitness family that gives back to each other and the community. I feel like I hit the jackpot being a part of CFP both physically and mentally!

Firstly let me get it out of the way and say that you WILL get your desired fitness results, the coaches will see to that..
But CFP takes it to the next level. Their sense of community and involvemt with the members on a personal level sets them apart from any other gym I've tried. The atmosphere is consistently filled with positive energy and motivation and it's hard not to get pulled into it, and they maintained this vibe all throughout Covid via virtual sessions. They got your back!
I started with CFP's Prototype Barbell Club around end of December looking to level up in olympic weightlifting and since then gained 5lbs muscle mass and broke a PR almost every single month. I'm in the best shape of my life both physically and mentally and confidence is at an all time high! I can pretty much guarentee that any prospective members will end up feeling the same way. Just try em out and you won't need another gym again :)

I started CrossFit in Jan 2020 and was immediately welcomed into the 'family'. The coaches at CFP are knowledgeable, helpful, respectful, motivational, and above all patient (often repeating instructions for those of us that, well, enjoy the stunning social aspect CFP promotes amongst its members).
Then Covid hit.....and the owner and coaches swiftly created a virtual training program, with the Quarantine Games 2020 being the most insane yet fun team vs team program I think we could have had. I cannot recommend CrossFit Prototype enough, programs to suit all levels, coaches that adapt like water, and a social connection I just couldn't get elsewhere.

Not only have I been a member of this gym for quite a while, I love it so much I got other family members involved with private training and group training. My husband dropped during open gym in while he was visiting family in the area after seeing them listed on the USA weightlifting website. 3 open lanes of oly platforms, sufficient kilo and lbs plates, and bars were all available to use. I came into CFP out of shape, overweight, and severe pain in my legs and back. I was frustrated how I looked and felt but since joining CFP my quality of life has drastically improved. Coaches Brian, John, and Mike have spent much of their own time answering and evaluating my constant questions about mobility (every time being met with enthusiasm). Coach Leah and John have put me on the right path with my nutrition and what I put into my body. Went to visit the facility and learn more about CrossFit- I have been working out in a HIIT environment for over 6 months and was looking to go to the next level- the introductory meeting was mediocre at best- very “salesey” a lot of pressure put in the biggest (most expensive) package they offer. Wanting to consider my options- I left my name and number. The trainer indicated he would call me in a few days to see what my thoughts were
I never received a call or any follow up- for over $225 a month- there really should have been some interest in me and my goals, at least one phone call

I've never felt better about my body and my health in my entire life. I joined CFP last year from a previous gym and I have been so happy with the staff, facilities, and the people. The programming is an excellent mix of strength and conditioning that has allowed me to go well beyond what I thought was my best physical fitness period of my life. I look forward to going every single day as I want to feel the endorphin rush of doing something that I never thought I could do and couple that with trying to keep up with my work out friends that I have built up over the past year. This place is the only thing that keeps me on track for my fitness goals. As a former college athlete i struggled to find a place to workout that i was motivated to stick with. When i walked in the door of CFP it was clear that i would keep coming back. The community that CFP has created make it fun to walk in the door no matter what that days WOD is.
The coaches are hands down the best around. They are knowledgeable, caring, and are able to tailor each workout to each specific athlete's ability. I have had multiple aches and pains that they have worked to help me get better and avoid the doctor's office.

I joined CFP about 4 months ago and can honestly say it has been life changing. I never thought I would do Crossfit because I assumed I would get injured or it wasn’t for me. Well I’ll admit I was wrong. The team here is so knowledgeable they wouldn’t allow you to get hurt. As a mom of 4 little ones I like to exercise early in the morning before any of my children are awake. CFP offers classes as early as 5am. The morning group is fun, motivating and extremely supportive of one another. Aside from the challenging workouts, the thing you will notice most is the camaraderie among the members of CFP. Everyone cheers everyone on and celebrates even the smallest successes - it is what I love most about this place. The trainers are highly attentive to good form and are very encouraging. I have taken both the Crossfit classes and the boxing class (in the evening) and have enjoyed both.
