Edit: changed from 3 to 4. The lockers weren't as bad as i remembered when writing this,.as well as the rubber chunks below the dumbbells. but left the original below for full transparency.

In short, good gym for a good price but lacking some routine upkeep. It was tough to decide between 3 or 4 stars. I'm going to go with the below:

Minus one star for locker room cleanliness & the forever broken urinal.
Minus one star for lack of gym equipment upkeep

Been a member for a few years, everyone super nice. price is good. Nothing big and crazy is broken, but there are a bunch of small to medium things that have been broken for quite a while ( months to years) and some of them are very simple fixes.

A bunch of the men's lockers are straight up gross, have been gross, and need to be scrubbed clean. Maybe its the ones that I end up looking in to store stuff and I'm trying to be forgiving because its a locker room but at least when I look there are some that definitely need a good scrubbing.

Other Maintenance items needed that I can think of:

For as long as I can remember the men's urinal has been "temporarily" out of order.

Multiple cable machine handles have their grips coming off - off top of my head, a couple straight and lat bars.

Multiple Dumbbells rubber are peeling. I'm not 100% sure but there are large chunks sitting under the rack for what seems like a while. (please sweep this.)

The dumbbell rack has multiple loose or missing weight brackets.
Home depot is right there - please buy some replacement nuts and bolts.

A dumbbell has been straight up missing for a while (I think its one of their 40lb)

Multiple dumbbells have been loose , spin, and need to be tightened. Ideally with locktite so no one gets hurt. Haven't seen this is the last few weeks but I noticed it over multiple weeks at one point.

One of their two stair climbing machines and a treadmill has been busted for a while.

A bunch of the lifting bars have noticeable bends in them to the point there is a good one with a lock on it. Annoying but usable, Someone locks their good one which I am assuming so it doesn't get busted too.

If some of the staff reads this far: Please get a seated and standing calf raise machine - even planet fitness in Webster has at least one.

Great gym and decent size. Made me feel very comfortable especially dealing with gym anxiety. Unfortunately I am not able to go to the gym due to not covered by my health insurance fitness plan.

It's a great gym with a lot of good classes and machines. The staff is helpful and has plenty of knowledge of fitness and how to achieve your goals.

This is a decent sized family owned gym.
If you're into power lifting, there is equipment for that.
For general fitness, there's plenty of machines and free weights for that.
They offer classes, but I've never taken any.

Been a member of R&F fitness for almost a couple years now and it’s by far one of the best gyms around. It’s 24;7, Affordable, has adequate gym space, and an overall a good environment. Lots of very welcoming people and the owners are both great!

Been going here since this gym opened as Boost, this place has turned around once new ownership came in when it was previously a Crunch Fitness.

Friendly and helpful staff, keeping the gym nice and clean! like the updates they have made so far, looking forward to seeing more changes in the future.

beautiful gym, great equipment, and friendly staff... I was in oxford for a week visiting my brother. I stopped into the gym and spoke with a guy named Conor, he sold me a 7 day pass.
i was very impressed and look forward to going back next time I'm in town.
if i ever move up there, this will be my new "Home Gym" without a doubt.

Couldn’t ask for a better gym experience. Management/staff consist of extremely relatable and well minded individuals. It has every piece of equipment I was looking for with no wait times due to the high quantity. And the locker room is one of the most well kept up I’ve seen compared to other gyms in the area (including showers and bathroom). Highly recommend this gym.

Hardworking staff, great location, and many interesting class options. New management has done an excellent job revamping what was Crunch Fitness. R&F Fitness is definitely the best gym I’ve been a member of.

I used to have a membership to Crunch at this location. When crunch closed there was no communication with their patrons at all and it was very frustrating. Since I didn't know what was going on I emailed to cancel my membership and actually changed my debit information to stop billing because I never got confirmation that it was cancelled. I eventually contacted R&H and they were incredibly helpful at canceling the membership. Apparently everything transferred over to the new gym but no message was ever sent from crunch Unfortunately I had already joined another gym that was closer to me. Had I known how helpful they would be here I probably wouldn't have switched gyms. Crunch seemed to have no idea or didn't care what it was doing and that probably led to a lot of problems for R&F. Hope everything works out for them. I work in customer service and don't think I've ever met anyone better at it so even though I don't go here I think they deserve a good review.
