Reaching Heart School of Ballet is a unique dance studio located in West Harwich, MA, in the heart of beautiful Cape Cod. Our instructors are passionate about dancing and fully dedicated to sharing the experience with others.
Our philosophy is inclusive: we have classes to suit all tastes, and we're happy to accommodate students of all ages and skill levels. Whether you're new to dance or have many years experience we hope to take your skills to the next level through our well trained teachers and thoughtful classes.
We are delighted that we have quite a group of extremely talented pre-professional dancers. We offer many performing opportunities and challenging classes to encourage a high level of technique and improvement.

We needed a school more dance focused coming from the conservatory. Reaching Heart has provided an incredibly strong ballet foundation for my daughter. She started dancing with Melissa at 6. The shows are amazing to watch your child live their dreams out on stage, and the Nutcracker can’t be topped. Through class, privates, YAGP competition and visiting professionals, my daughter thrived. Melissa gave her the foundation to go beyond Reaching Heart to train at summers at SAB and join ABTs pre professional program at 15. We still attend RHSB classes when home and privately train with Melissa. I can’t thank her enough for all she has done for my daughter and continues to support every step of the way.

My daughter began dancing with Miss Melissa at The Reaching Heart School of ballet when she was 3 years old. She is now 11 and continues to LOVE dance thanks to Miss Melissa and Reaching Heart! Melissa is dedicated to providing her dancers with exceptional instruction and instilling a true love of dance in all of them. Reaching Heart has been my daughter's 2nd home for the past 11 years. It is just a wonderful place to dance. I am so glad we found Reaching Heart when my daughter was young, she has developed friendships that I know will last a lifetime. The dance instruction is excellent and the atmosphere is welcoming and supportive. My daughter will graduate from high school this year and has had the opportunity to perform in 11 Nutcrackers and has gotten to be almost every part! She has also danced in Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia and numerous other individual dances. From the smallest child to the high school kids I always see such respect and love between all the students for one another. If you are looking for a school that focuses on ballet and technique at the same time creating a family of amazing dancers this is the place for you!!

My daughter was introduced to Reaching Heart from a preschool birthday party. Over 10 years later she is still dancing from her heart. Her time at Reaching Heart has taught her so many skills beyond learning ballet. She has a stronger work ethic and developed perseverance, commitment, and athleticism. It is a wonderful ballet community and all the students and teachers are very positive and supportive.
