The most wonderful, inclusive, feel-good studio around. Every time I have walked out of there I have felt happier both physically and mentally. I went back yesterday after months away from the mat and had some anxiety around it, which was immediately aleviated by the kind and warm energy of Rachel Duda, who's Sunday class is the reasons Sundays exists. Full of kindness, grounding, reflection, and some great yoga. Thanks to the community and the staff for also being accommodating when I accidentally booked the wrong class a week ago, and they were met with immediate support, even though it was very much my mistake. Highly recommend this studio for anyone looking to improve their flexibility and lighten their mind. Also, the space is absolutely gorgeous, tucked a staircase away from the hustle and bustle of the North End.

If this review were based purely on the yoga experience alone, my review would be higher.
However, I am giving this studio 1 star because of a deeply concerning and unfair pricing policy that the studio explicitly advertises on its website. Which, should be noted, is illegal as it violates the Massachusetts Public Accommodations Law.
Soma Yoga offers a substantial, race-based discount (25% off) on all classes and pricing options exclusively to individuals who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color).
While I appreciate efforts to increase accessibility, this policy of differential pricing based purely on a customer's race to be a clear instance of pricing discrimination. It creates two separate pricing tiers for the exact same service, which is not only unfair but, violates the principles of equal treatment in public accommodations.
Using racial classification to determine how much a customer must pay, fundamentally undermines the welcoming and inclusive atmosphere Soma Yoga claims to promote. Until this discriminatory pricing structure is removed and all patrons are charged the same rate for the same service, I cannot recommend this studio.
I hope Soma Yoga will recognize the legal and ethical implications of this policy and adjust their pricing to be truly equitable for everyone.

I am currently doing a trial here for 79 dollars for 2 wks. I cycle here from Cambridge and find it takes literally 12 minutes and I park my bike right out front. I like their schedule a lot and find the 12pm class great. They have a variety of teachers across the Boston Area that are coveted and people really love; everyone seems so prepared and professional. The space truly is lovely with the big windows, fig trees, and how CLEAN it is. I am pregnancy so began coming here b/c I cannot go to hot yoga anymore but have been really happy with this space and studio. I do wish there was no $3 fee for a yoga mat rental; when I bike over I have to also buy a mat which does add up over time. I wish it was more like $1 to rent especially b/c the non hot classes really make the mat not that gross or sweaty. All in all very happy here and would recommend to anyone in the Boston or Cambridge area.

The best yoga studio in the North End! The space is always clean, welcoming, and peaceful. The instructors are friendly, supportive, and great at guiding all levels β whether youβre new to yoga or experienced. I also really enjoy the Pilates classes - strongly recommend any class led by Kim or Amanda! It truly feels like a safe, judgment-free space to move and reset.

I needed to rent a private yoga studio for an hour and Soma was extremely accomodating. Even though theyβre on a third floor walkup, they also have an elevator available from a different entrance for anyone too tired or unable to walk up 3 flights. We had the backup studio reserved which still provided sunlight thru their exposed brick walls. It was a very welcoming experience with friendly staff. They even validate parking at the haymarket garage of $3 for up to 3 hours! Such a wonderful experience and highly recommend.

I finally visited Soma today. After being welcomed by the lovely Amy Leydon(also an amazing teacher) I was reunited with Michael Alba who I had taken classes with pre pandemic. The studio is bright, light and inviting. It feels like there is something for everyone on the schedule. I am so glad I finally made it there and already looking forward to going back.

I'm so grateful for this place. For years, I searched and searched for a yoga studio in Boston that felt right to me. Soma is it! Classes at Soma have the right balance of spiritual and physical. You can find what you need here - whether that's meditative yin or strength-building vinyasa. I love Soma.

0/10. awful. apathetic instructor.
please only go if you already know names of all yoga poses and need no guidance in terms of posture. this is not a beginner friendly studio. instructor will really only yell out names of poses and only correct the first row on their posture, if that. they will not tell you alternate poses if youβre a beginner and my class didnβt have enough blocks for all yogis present.

My boyfriend and I were visiting Boston and decided to attend a hot yoga session with the instructor Pete. The studio was clean and spacious although our class was held in the smaller room and it was FULL. There was NO HEAT, which was the first red flag. Not only that⦠people kept entering the room LATE and he allowed it! There was not enough space to fully stretch without touching the person next to you which definitely affected the entire vibe.
The instructor was very nice although I was not satisfied with the sessionβ¦ I will not be backβ¦ if youβre looking to have a relaxing flow session, this is not the studio. It is more of a chit chat hangoutβ¦

I was a longtime North End resident and practitioner at the former North End Yoga. I love Soma Yoga and the energy they have brought to the space. The instructors exude warmth, passion, and expertise, creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. I no longer live in Boston, but I still do livestream classes with Soma and I'm consistently impressed. The set up is seamless and they have a good sized library of On Demand classes as well.

Best yoga studio in the northeast region!
I've had the opportunity to try multiple studios in Boston and NYC area and this one by far has been the best one! The ambience, the staff, and especially the instructors are top tier. The studio is extremely spacious, relaxing, and clean. Great amenities including full showers, mat storage, and changing rooms. Itβs a lovely space and teachers are good, but they cram way too many students in a small studio. Oddly enough they charge membership holders for last minute cancellations or non-attendance, when actually you are doing others a favor by not attending (and letting ever have a bit more space). I also recently walked out of a class after waiting for the teacher for 25 minutes. They did send an apology email a few days later but no refund/compensation (talk about double standards!). I rather support a less thirsty yoga center.

Amazing yoga studio! Great selection of different classes and workshops. It is one of the last big non corporate studios left in the city. Always happy to support the local business owner. The main room is really breathtaking. If you look out the windows, you can see the beautiful north end bustling below. The staff is all super friendly and knowledgeable. Amy is the best! I absolutely LOVE Soma Yoga Center! First of all, I have never been to such a warm, welcoming studio. I have always been greeted by name since the first few days I joined. I also love that there are such a variety of classes, whether I am looking for something more challenging or more restorative there are options to choose from (I look forward to Amy's Friday morning Restore class all week!). I usually take Amy's classes and Kim's pilates classes which are all amazing, and I especially appreciate how descriptive they are when walking us through each movement to make sure we have the correct form. Not to mention the studio itself is sunny and beautiful. I highly recommend Soma Yoga!
