This place is great. I found them after asking around for a long time looking for a trainer who could work with someone my age (75) without risking injury.

It paid off; I just got back from eight days of intense hiking in the fjords of East Greenland, for which I knew I needed help training before I went. Worked with Miles twice a week before I went and he knew how and just how hard to push me for maximum payoff. I absolutely could not have made it in Greenland without his help.

I’ve been going to Spectrum fitness in Beverly for three months now, and let me just say – this place is the real deal. Not only have I lost weight and gained muscle, but I’m also celebrating the non-scaled victories.(You know, the stuff that really matters): My clothes fit better, and I can now get up off the floor without crawling to the nearest piece of furniture for help. That’s a win in my book!

The trainers are incredibly knowledgeable about the human body. I work with Miles, and he’s been amazing.-Super patient, really knows his stuff, and always make sure my form is on point(Especially when it comes to those tricky knees!). He’ll correct you in a way that’s helpful, not harsh, which I really appreciate.

If you’re thinking about joining a gym where people actually care and know what they are doing, this is it. Spectrum has made a huge difference in just a few months and I’m excited to keep going.

Spectrum provides very professional services that are carefully designed with each client in mind. I came in with concerns about my newly diagnosed osteoporosis, my recent knee replacement, and my declining strength and balance as I have aged.

My work with Brian has been focused and carefully managed to challenge me without causing injuries. Each session includes new and previous exercises that provide challenges and novelty. Brian is a careful observer who will correct my movements and posture to maximize the benefits of each exercise. He listens to my feedback to guide his decisions about what is best for me. I highly recommend spectrum fitness for everyone. In the past , exercise was not my friend . I have always injured myself in attempting to exercise. I started out with Chris in a the adjacent physical therapy side for some neck disc injury. He saved me and got me strong enough to be able to continue on with spectrum. The two sides work together to make sure you are safe and have an individual program to progress you without injury. Andrew and Dave are amazing trainers and motivators. Brian was able to help me move beyond my fears of injury step by step and make me feel comfortable with exercise for the first time in my life. He has the patience of a saint ! Matt has helped me with the mind body connection. He is exceptional with putting all the pieces together for achieving sucess . I am also a breast cancer survivor . Coming back after major surgery was very scary. Everyone’s compassion, patience , knowledge and motivation lifted me back up and into my program again. At close to 71 yr old I felt like crap. Still working without any energy. I still enjoyed skiing golf etc but felt a lack of muscle mass was keeping me back. I considered trying to do it my self . I decided that I needed direction and signed up for 3 days a week training. My trainers are Matt ,Brian and Brett and my programs is bespoked to my needs and wants. They have privates and group sessions which I do but we are doing our own supervised programs. Even after a year I still need a correction and they are all there to prove and inspire. After two and a half years of training at Spectrum, most recently with Andrew Rich, I am impressed with the increase in my strength and stamina. It was all accomplished with expert care and guidance - with special attention to my weaker side from past knee surgeries. The strengthening has eliminated the pain and weakness in my knee. The weight-bearing exercise has also reversed the onset of osteoporosis. Just as important, it is a fun place to spend an hour! The staff and clients are both wonderful. Spectrum Fitness is a great place to go no matter what your age or ability or goals. The trainers are all more knowledgeable than any others I’ve worked with, and they make you feel perfectly comfortable and competent whether you are the athlete improving your workout, or the overweight older woman just dipping your toe into exercise. Your workout will challenge you while still accommodating any specific needs you may have. When I had knee and shoulder troubles, I was able to continue working out every week with the help of the trainers, and I am now pain-free. When the pandemic closed all the gyms, one of my gyms just kept taking the monthly fee. Spectrum immediately instituted remote personal training that could be done at home, with additional free classes available online. After two and a half years with them, I feel more physically capable and strong than I have in years, and I consider my decision to go here one of the best I’ve ever made. I cannot recommend Spectrum enough!

I have been a client at Spectrum Fitness just short of a year now after completing a year of physical therapy for a back injury/degenerative condition. I joined as a one-on-one client and have been training with Dave Knight. When I first started, I couldn’t even do one leg lift I was so weak. Through Dave’s expert advice, clinical knowledge and encouragement I have made significant gains in mobility and strength. He continues to tailor my workouts based around my condition. Like many folks I was in a “physical rut” looking for a program to prepare myself for the second half of life. The Trainers and Nutritionists at Spectrum provided a comfortable environment for me to assess my initial physical status before starting the program. I knew I needed to make exercise, diet, and lifestyle changes as I was not where I wanted to be physically or emotionally.
The workout plan Spectrum created for me matched my current physical abilities measured during my initial consult. My plan focused on physical strength first to help me ease into an exercise rhythm before adding a diet to my daily routine. Once I was exercising 3 days a week and enjoying it, I found it easy to add the dietary focus to my routine. I was encouraged to provide feedback if I felt the need to increase or decrease my level of exercise. Setting small goals up front and not placing too much pressure on yourself is a key to success.
The equipment Spectrum provided ranged from free weights, standard workout machines and bikes. All the equipment was specifically chosen to work different areas of the body.
The outcome? I lost 40 pounds!! I eat, sleep, and feel much better. Building strength and muscle has reduced or eliminated the fifty plus year old aches and pains that I lived with for years. Overall, I maintain my weight and still work out without having to think about it.

As a long time client of Spectrum Fitness, I was a little skeptical that the online training would adequately replace going to the studio. While I miss seeing the Spectrum family in person, I have found the online training to have many benefits. I now have a private training session in place of small group. For me, private training adds another level of motivation. I have more flexibility as to when I workout and I no longer have a thirty minute commute to workout. I have increased my workout days from twice a week to four times a week. Mike and the entire Spectrum staff have done a phenomenal job in staying in touch through email and Zoom meetings. The extra free classes offered online are a bonus. One of the few good things to come out of this pandemic has been learning and trying new things. Online training has changed me from a skeptic to a believer.
