PROS: Ample parking, and right next to stop and shop (always great to grab something you're running low on after working out)
Friendly staff. Like a used car dealership.

CONS: Over priced membership fee, pushed into committing for multiple months, complimentary session with a trainer was a joke consisting of 45 minutes with a disinterested kid who spend more effort trying to get me sign up for ludicrously priced sessions with a trainer than he did listening to what I wanted to get out of the session.

Oh did I mention that a number of their machines have screens that are in some state of disrepair, and/or have notes on them that the built in fan doesn't work. This is important to note because the hefty monthly fee doesn't cover the equipment! They give you the honor of paying a separate equipment fee.

And worst of all, their hours of operation. They close early on Friday, and close at THREE PM on Saturday and Sunday.

I understand this is a family run business and not a nationwide chain and this would excuse and one of these complaints. But taken all together, I can't justify paying five times as much as other gyms. I'll be taking my business elsewhere as soon as I can get out of my contact with this place.

Update: I received a refund of my previous month's fees and have increased the rating from one star.

Team Fitness Franklin is by far the best gym I have belonged to. They have great classes, group fitness, and all of their trainers are top notch. The staff encourages a friendly atmosphere and leads by example. The staff are not just employees they are fellow members.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the facility is so clean I thought it was brand new, they offer just about everything and there are machines that provide a great work-out without destroying your knees. Team Fitness is conveniently located for me because I conduct a lot of business in the plaza and I'm there nearly every day.

While there may be some good people at Team Fitness, be prepared to look at your bank account and find that there is an increase in the amount that Bob F, owner of Team Fitness, deducts from your account without notification. In 2011, he notified us of a $4 increase and in 2012 there was a 30% increase which we didn't catch until the second monthly deduction was taken out. Oh, and they charged us twice in one month but didn't seem to have any record of it. If you sign up for a membership there, you're also signing up to have any amount taken out of your account with no notification. Bob F refuses to refund the overcharged amount. Bad business.

I am a very happy Team Fitness customer who has been going to this facility for over 3 years. I'm in my late 50s and I am fighting the bulge and Team Fitness has been there for me as a customer. My college aged children take a student's summer membership package so they can join me when they are home, and both my wife and I are clients, so this facility works for our entire family!

From their offers of individual training sessions with a professional to the relaxed self administered approach, they support it all. I go 3-5 times per week depending on my schedule and am training for a specific goal; CRASHB;s at BU in February. They have two Concept2 ERGs there and both have the PM3 data head which is state of the art in rowing machines. In addition, I also use the elliptical machine and they have at least 8 or 10 of these very popular machines. With multiples of virtually every piece of fitness equipment, I have never had to wait for a machine to clear.

I'm a morning man and go early and find all age groups when I arrive; this facility has the atmosphere to comfortably manage all age groups. I am intimidated by the gym, but the open floor plan here and machine arrangements are such that you are seldom shoulder to shoulder with anyone. They also rearrange the layout periodically which helps.

You will find the owner sitting behind the reception desk more often than not even though there are a dozen or more employees; he cares about his clients and he cares about the facility. The husband and wife owners are right there every day. They also have a protein and juice bar but I don't know anything about that other than my wife and kids typically hit it after their workouts.

This is the newest and most up-to-date facility in the Town of Franklin and it attracts locals, destination workers before and after work, and even some drive-by's that work out on their way to or from their jobs in another town.

A warm southwestern motif of earth tone tiles and ULTRA CLEAN and modern locker rooms make this a very comfortable place to go. Warm bath and face towels straight from the dryer are there and always well stocked. Also, you can smell a slight hint of bleach on their towels which I find reassuring towards their commitment to cleanliness. They have handicap showers, steam room, and I think even a sauna but I've honestly never opened that glass door to see if it's got something other than steam!

I do cardio work and then lift free weights and they have four areas of free weights along the mirrored walls so that there is no congestion and no worries of being the 98 lb weakling amongst the giants of muscle. You can have a nice exercise experience in the spacious facility.

They also have spinning classes, Cross-Fit training, and lots of other class participation programs that are done in one of the multiple private exercise rooms where they do not have any effect or interference with the clients who are in the main gym area.

Yes I'm totally sold on Team Fitness and their careful attention to me, the customer. Imagine that?

I've been in two of the three other "facilities" in the last 25 years in Franklin and this is the place for me. New, clean, uncluttered, and friendly.
