The Bar Method Wellesley is the original barre workout. Intelligently designed and expertly guided, this workout delivers results. Set in a beautiful boutique fitness studio, the signature method uses your own body weight, the ballet barre and a few props to create a transformative workout that results in long, lean sculpted muscles. Highly-trained instructors customize the exercises to ensure they are safe and effective for any age and every body, including modifications for pregnant women and students with injuries. I have loved the Bar Method for years. I was a member of the Financial District location. Sadly, they did not survive the pandemic.
I tried other Barre franchises. They just did not give me the workout I was craving.
To my delight, the Wellesley Bar Method location absorbed several of the instructors from Boston. I adjusted my schedule so I could visit at least twice a week. The workout is like no other. Small movements, low impact, it gets right into those small muscles. Within a week or two of being back, I could already see the changes in my body.

I love coming to classes at Bar Method Wellesley! The instructors do an amazing job of creating challenging full body workouts, motivating you, and making sure youβre using the correct form to get the most out of each exercise. Each workout leaves you feeling strong, accomplished, and energized for the day. Coming at least 3 times per week really helps to feel good about the exercises and see/feel results. The community here is also wonderful!

So I went back to bar after a brief hiatus due to COVID scare, but really the studio is well cared for, organized, and constantly disinfectant!!! The instructors are simply amazing. Watch your body transform. This is the best low impact exercise. Keeps you lean, elongated, and stretched. The studio is spotless and super clean. The staff is extremely friendly, and helpful. You will not be disappointed.

I have had a very positive experience at the Bar Method in Wellesley. The staff has taken every precaution to make it safe and comfortable inside the studio. They are offering such a wide variety of classes at many different times. I love that the off the option of doing virtual classes as well. Most important, the instructors are professional, experienced, helpful, energetic, and inspirational. The sessions are demanding but the instructors are always willing to make adjustments for different levels or injuries. They continually count (very helpful) as well as suggest minor adjustments to alleviate lower back strain, neck strain, etc. throughout each set ensuring that each attendee get the most out of the exercises while keeping various parts of the body safe. It's so easy to register, easy to sign in, and easy to get help from the front desk. Upon arrival you are greeted by your name(!) - how impressive is that! Love this studio!!

This is so much more than a workout! Beyond the longer, leaner muscles you'll see emerge from your body, it's a state of mind that you'll adopt. In just one hour of exercise, you'll feel more confident (your posture will improve from all that strength in your back) and especially more calm (shaking legs leave you with a surprising sense of zen). I'm so happy to have discovered BMW and to have it become a part of my life. Can't recommend it enough!

Bar Method Wellesley is the absolute BEST. After a bad injury, I couldn't run anymore, and Bar Method was exactly the restorative fitness routine I needed! I was heartbroken when I moved to NYC and couldn't go to Bar Method Wellesley anymore. I still try to make it back for classes whenever I'm back in MA for the weekend!
My favorite part of Bar Method has to be the instructors. They are so kind and so encouraging! Thank you to the whole Bar Method Wellesley team for always rocking it.

It's hard for me to put my experience in to words. I presented at the studio after lots of rest and physical therapy as a result of breaking my coccyx (tailbone). I was weak and in pain but obviously given to go ahead to start bar classes.
I was welcomed and given modifications and more than that I got amazing support. My tiny accomplishments were acknowledged and celebrated. These amazing folks gave me my life back. I have become so strong and fit. The body is looking pretty good too, if I do say so myself. Credit to The Bar Method! It's a fun and challenging workout and an extremely supportive environment both instructors and clients. Give it a try!

I have been going to The Bar Method Wellesley since 2016 kicked-off and am SO grateful to have finally found an exercise program for this former fitness buff whose body has taken a beating the past decade from several unexpected major surgeries, complications, injuries, etc. It's been so hard to get back at something until I found The Bar (or they found me!). Bright and friendly studio where instructors know you by name . The actual work out is increadible because it is designed to tone every part of the body , and well trained instructors correct and align you to make sure to avoid injuries and to maximize benefit of each exercise. Additionally, this method of exercise is accessible to every one - whether you are a fitness fanatic like me or a total novice, a kid or a healthy senior - the individual exercises are simple so everyone can do , but repetition and nuanced elements you learn to add as you advance, are increadibly effective. I am more toned and flexible now at 49 then ever , and my 18 year old son, after joining me in class on mother's day, admitted that its among the hardest work outs he's ever done - this from a boy who plays varsity college tennis ! If you have not tried - you owe it to yourself to try. Totally transforming!!

I joined Bar Method over a year ago and I love it so much. The teachers are so kind, so encouraging and I love the atmosphere they create. I have come to the Wellesley Bar Method class for more than a few years now. I love the instructors. They are well trained, enthusiastic and helpful. The facilities are very clean and pleasant.
When I go, I try to go to the 6 a.m class. I find it is a great way to start my day. I receive an hour of flexibility training as well as strength training , working at my own level .
I am 78 years old in less than a week. And since I feel health and fitness are a top priority for feeling young and capable, Bar Method fits right in there as a part of that priority.

I had been doing workout videos at home for a few months before friends suggested that I come along to a class. I was blown away by how much harder I pushed myself during class - both because of the amazing instructors, but also from the other people in the class. The biggest surprise for me has been the sense of community, belonging, and support that you can find here. The workouts are fantastic, and I've definitely seen results, but it's the people that bring you back again and again.

I have been going religiously for BM Wellesley for two years now. My body and soul miss it when I'm away. It's the perfect one-hour workout which will push you to develop physical strength and stamina you didn't know you had, but above all, it's a place of friendly faces and warm community. Each instructor has her own way and vibe, but you'll get a great workout with them all. Sarah's Bar Move is legendary for its creativity, energy, and calorie burning. She will make you believe you can do anything. I am the least flexible and ballet-like person, but I'm almost able to do a split at age 40 (something I couldn't ever do in my teens). I get the one-hour class in and then head to work in a terrific frame of mind. I couldn't recommend it more.

The teachers are great - they really watch your form to insure you are working safely (as someone with past injuries, this is important to me). They all have different styles but are able to motivate you to find that last ounce of strength or power and really encourage you to make the most of the time you are in class. The studio is clean, the office staff is really warm, kind and helpful, and the workout is excellent. I highly recommend this studio for a rigorous workout that leaves you feeling strong, flexible and positive.

An amazing workout with equally impressive results! This review is long overdue - I've been going to Bar Method Wellesley for over a year now and I've never felt stronger and more in shape. Even after having 3 kids (including twins!), my body is leaner, firmer, and stronger than it's ever been. The facility is meticulous and the instructors are motivating and friendly. The Barre Method in Wellesley is a favorite spot of mine. The atmosphere has a "spa like" feel & the staff is super cool & sweet! Aside from all those nice 'extras', the barre classes are by far the best i've come across (and i've tried many). I would recommend trying this gem....i promise you'll enjoy your 1st hour & want to go back for more. Hopefully I'll see you at our local barre:)

They pay attention to details which is what barre is all about. I first started Bar Method about five years ago. While there are videos, nothing compares to the studio work out. It's addictive! The Wellesley studio is a gorgeous space and Sarah and Jen are terrific instructors. I've sampled other barre style workouts and they simply aren't the same.
