Golf course Golf instructor Public golf course Wedding venueAbout the Club
The Bay Pointe Club was built in 1964 and was known as Wareham Country Club until 1988. This was the same year that the Pavilion building was constructed and the famous 7th hole island green was created. Today, the Bay Pointe Club offers a unique collection of 18 championship golf holes designed by Geoffrey Cornish, a beautiful banquet facility, and a clubhouse which has a fully stocked pro shop and The Bay Pointe Grille, which is a perfect place for a meal or to just watch a game. Playing to a par 70 for the men, the course is rated 70.9 and sloped 122 from the back tees. The overall yardage may appear comparatively short on the card (6201 from Blue Tees), but it plays substantially longer.

Even if you donβt golf, you have to go eat at the Clubhouse on 10.
We tried two soups, both were amazing. We shared the special and only thought to take a picture when it was pretty much gone.

Fun short course, lots of work going on and has a bright future. I probably would skip the course unless youβre staying in the area for a vacation week or something related, not worth a far drive. $77 for 18

My buddy and I played 18 holes starting at 6:20 on this Labor Day weekend. Got paired up with two gentlemen. Was pleasantly surprised at the amount of work that has been put into the course. Many trees have been eliminated for the construction of condos. Greens were absolutely perfect I have to say. Best I've played on all year. Parking lot is a huge improvement of the dirt one previously! Lots of improvements being made and the course looked great! Property is looking amazing! Keep up the good work.

Don't listen to 1 star reviews, that's too harsh. Conditions are not excellent, but didnt prevent me from having a fun round, greens are great. Island green was a lot of fun !

Everyone knows that this golf course isn't in great shape. The ground in really hard. I could look past all of that if the staff and locals weren't such karens. I don't even think that the owners care if anyone wants to golf there. I nearly get into a fight everytime I go to this place because the workers try to give special treatment to regulars. It's very political there.
Place is a dump

I played today absolutely disaster. Wouldn't play Here ever again. The greens were the only plus nice condition , but the fairways and the tee boxes and fairways were in horrible condition. Just looks like they should sell the place and have somebody come in and redo. It would be a nice little track, but it's not worth paying money to play.

The shape of this golf course is terrible fairways and tee boxes are especially bad. The greens were decent. It looks like they maybe doing some remodeling so it might get better but it going to take a lot of work to make this course even close to a ok.

Course is in terrible shape from the fairways to the traps, the traps will ruin your clubs as they are filled with straight up rocks, greens arenβt terrible some better than others but overall terrible experience. Pace of play was slow all morning and then they want to rush us on the back. $77 dollars to play here in this shape should be a crime.

Used to be part of my 16 member group. We removed it from our rotation due to construction issues but still play in the Kane strong tournament once a year .although the coarse is still in tough shape. It should be in great shape in a few years.

Iβve played this course this morning and honestly there is a lot to say about why not going there. No practice area or putting green . The starter tell people to go putt on the 17th greenβ¦ Hole 1 to 3 are just a mess, no fairway, weeds everywhere, rough on tee box. Every spot the ball lands is sand and weeds. The back nine is a mess, they changed the lay out and there is no scorecard for other tees than white so you donβt understand if itβs a par 3, 4 or 5 and sometimes the distance is strange so you really ask yourself whatβs the par on that hole ? (Long par 3, long par 4, short par 4). There is a lot of noise because of all the new house building around the course. Everything looks messyβ¦ yes the green are nice but lay out sucks and the course is in bad shape. 18th hole going away from the club house is also stupid .. horrible experience worst course Iβve seen around Plymouth and cape cod. Wonβt come back

Great potential but needs work. The pro shop and restaurant have yet to open. They are way behind schedule. Streets have a lot of construction dirt on them and it's been that way for a year. Bay Pointe Drive has no street lights. Main function building needs a coat of paint. The management company appears focused on selling condos, amenities appear to be a secondary consideration.

The courses were just rough. The fairway and greens were most often well maintained but anything besides that is a sandpit. With no map it is often hard to tell where the pin even is on the par 5s and some par 4s.

I had booked an outing for 48 guys something had happened and I was told they would not be able to accommodate the times we had requested. I worked with the owner Tim and his pro Karl who worked very hard to accommodate my group and all worked out very well my guys had a great day. Thank you again for working it out. Now about the course the Greens were immaculate all of my guys commented on how nice they were. Some of the fairways are still a work in progress I think the owner has a vision for this place and I think in another year this is going to be a hidden gem. I almost didn't want to leave this review cause I don't want it to get to crowded lol. I will definitely be returning

I recently had the pleasure of playing in a charity tournament at Bay Pointe Club. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The course itself was both challenging and fun, offering a great mix of holes that tested our skills and kept the game exciting.
While there was some construction in the surrounding area, it didn't detract from the overall experience at the club. The overall condition of the course and the exceptional service provided by the staff more than made up for it.

Holes 1-3 terrible condition no idea why you cut all those trees down to keep the same layout. No fairway on those holes. And unfinished construction. Hole 12 doesn't even have a tee box hitting off of sandy mats. This used to be my favorite public course. Now I'm probably not going to return until next year.

Is this place open?? The website has said the same thing for months (not much). They arenβt on GolfNow anymore, I tried both of the phone numbers..one was disconnected and one nobody answered, no response when I emailed them. I donβt ever leave bad reviews but as far as customer service and keeping customers in the loop goes? Couldnβt be any worse.

Confused why this place has such high ratings. Pace of play is horribly slow, 3:45 min to get through 10 holes. You canβt tell the difference between the fairways and rough. Half of the fairways are burnt out and just sand. There is so much construction going on itβs an eyesore. The prices are also high. Itβs 50 per person and another 44 for a cart. Two stars is generous.
Source: Google

Course in decent shape considering lack of rain. Cart paths in rough shape and construction area doesnβt help the course at all. But the worst part was paying $44 for a cart. Yes, one cart, 2 people, $44. Highway robbery. Very disappointed.

I had just moved to the Buzzards Bay area last Fall and finally got to play my first round of golf in two years. I did not expect to play well but the course was above par and was pleasant to play. I caught up to a twosome on 16 and played the last two holes with Arron (hope I spelled your name correctly) and David.
The greens were smooth and so was checking in with the informative gent's in the pro shop.
Thanks for making my first round at Bay Pointe a good day!

It's a course with good bones, but it needs some work. The cart paths aren't very good shape, the area where phase 2 of housing is going to go is not very good looking at this point. But with a little work, it has a good layout and will be even better. Pro shop is all torn up.

Course is in great shape and pace of play was excellent. 18 holes in exactly 4 hours. But be aware the snack bar on 10 is not open on Tuesdays. Would be nice to have a vending machine there for waters, drinks on back 9 as we were a little parched by the end. Or let people know when they tee off.

First the positives, the course is fun to play, the greens and tees are in good shape and the Pro Shop staff was pleasant. I have them 4 stars primarily for the course.
There are some areas that need improvement. Most recently we golfed on a Tuesday, which apparently is the day the food and drink services are closed. We couldn't even get a water and it was a very hot day. That's not acceptable. Last time we played the starter interrupted someone's backswing for no reason and the time before that (2020) the starter was very rude. Lastly their cart paths are horrible in spots. I mean really bad. These are all fixable things and I hope they do. I'd like nothing better than to give them 5 stars in the future.

I told the clubhouse manager (I'm keeping his name anonymous for his consideration, but management should know it's the guy running the place right now as of the time of this posting...stellar customer engagement skills) that he runs a 5-star experience here at the Bay Pointe Club. What an awesome layout and the condition of the course is wonderful even now in January. Excellent bentgrass everywhere with no invasives or weeds anywhere. Incredibly personable staff. I love the green complexes here: they are a joy to play. Very well thought out and they can tuck the pins on a number of holes. This should be a "must play" destination for you when you're in Massachusetts. I can't say enough.

This course is truly a Gem! Play it if you can and when you're done, play it again! The small par 3 island green...WOW. The redesigned number 5...YES! and the 9th hole...again, its perfect! The back 9 is even more enjoyable and challenging. I've no clue what some are saying about the tee boxes, etc...The entire course was wonderful. I'm grateful that we have such a variety within such a small radius. I travel for work a lot and have the opportunity to play in a lot of places....The cape and the surrounding area...there is nothing like it anywhere! Bay Pointe is yet another example of how spoiled we are...thank you again.

Itβs tough to give a full review right now as they are renovating which makes the course a bit rough. At the time of this review the 5th hole is completely closed, and the 6th has been turned into a par 3. The rest of the course is in decent shape, but desperately needs some TLC on the tee boxes. I think theyβre more focused on selling houses, and the wedding venue than the course which is a shame. For the current price of $39, including cart, itβs worth it. However, I wouldnβt pay more than that in the current condition.

Food was actually very good and the course was pretty nice too. I have actually been here twice and both times it was great. HOWEVER and this is a big however, the two men working the pro shop were complete A-holes. The first time I was there I thought maybe it was just a bad day but when I returned the second time their lack of courtesy and professionalism still lacked. The Pro up there really needs to learn to be a friendlier man, it's even rubbing off on the poor assistant. Don't know if I will go back and it's a shame with such good food and a nice & fun course.
