This review is for the Masterโs swim sessions that Jordan coaches. Iโm so glad she talked me into joining! She has introduced me to a variety of drills and strokes which have improved my swimming. She does a good job of working with a broad range of talents in our group sessions, accommodating for individualsโ physical restrictions, and keeping us all moving. Jordan is encouraging and provides helpful advice when asked specific questions. That said, because I never had any formal coaching, I would welcome more unsolicited advice on ways to improve my technique.

Jordan is an amazing swim instructor! She patient, encouraging, and makes lessons fun while building real confidence in the water . We started here almost a year now and have seen good progress in my girls swimming. She is punctual and has good teaching skills for kids of all ages. Highly recommend her at the Thoreau Club!

We joined the Thoreau Sharks swim team three years ago and have seen our kids thrive in a supportive team environment led by Coach Jordan Kennedy. She's attentive to the kids' needs while challenging them to do their best. Coach Jordan, along with Coach Radi, have built an inclusive team environment where our kids have grown as competitive swimmers while having fun and loving the sport.

We have been on the swim team at Thoreau for many years and have been so impressed by Coach Jordan and Radi who inspire our kids each day to swim their best and improve not only as swimmers but teammates. We can't thank them enough for cheering them on and providing such a safe and fun team atmosphere! We wish the swim team would get the recognition like tennis does. Jordan Kennedy does a fantastic Job giving all swimmers a chance and built the team to lead them to many successful seasons and many new opportunities such as Bay States and AAU Nationals if they want to take their swimming to the next level.

I really canโt say enough good about this place, but the thing that really puts it over the edge, 10 stars rating, is the childcare. For a modest monthly fee thereโs unlimited daily childcare for two hour sessions, morning and evening, and in the summer they have a daily fun zone from 12 PM to 3 PM. I have the swim membership, so I do all of the aqua fit classes, which are phenomenal and so fun. The women are so friendly and supportive. I also do other classes like yoga, Pilates, cycle, etc., and all of the classes are top-notch.

Thoreau club, especially the pool, is a great place for people who want to exercise and have fun doing it. Always clean and well taken care of. And the whole family can enjoy it. And Wendy Hammond-Wildes can teach swimming anybody who is willing to learn. Recently they installed a new saltwater system combined with an advanced UV filtration. The water is more pleasant and healthy, and this is especially important for children.

It was a beautiful facility. I went there for a CMITA tennis match. The home team was very welcoming and a lot of fun playing a very close match. My only complaint is there was a vanilla fragrance on courts 1-3 and it aggravated my asthma. I had to use an inhaler a couple of times and wear a mask. Iโm not sure why athletic facilities use fragrance especially where people are performing cardio exercise and need to breathe. :( One of the players on the home team also needed her inhaler. They thought it may have something to do with being a new bubble. I will ask the captains before my next match.

My challenge was to find a nearby club that will teach my kids (ranging from 6 yrs -15 yrs) swimming. Not only did I find the right club to accommodate this need, I also found the best instructors, particularly Jordan Kennedy, who met my kids where they were. Within a short 3 months, I have seen remarkable progress in my kids. Jordan has very firm yet nourishing teaching methodology. She encourages and challenges at the same time. I am so relieved to find such a wonderful coach for my kids!
Shoutout to Thomas as well! He is very patient with the little swimmers!

Absolutely LOVE the Thoreau Club! This is the best fitness center and community I have ever experienced, and I've been a member of many clubs over the years.
I love the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the pool, locker rooms, circuit area and overall facility. Everything is well maintained and works great. The online and phone apps are great--easy to use. I pay for the higher level membership and it is worth every cent because I actually WANT to go work out here! That is priceless.
The environment is wonderful also--everyone is friendly and helpful. The Thoreau Club feels like home to me. :)

My kids have been enjoying the summer membership at the Thoreau club for many years! Two beautiful outdoor pools, 2 hot tubs, and a splash pad! Plenty of parking and food available from Julianna's cafe. This is a great option for the summer.

Summer pool membership for family was fabulous and definitely worth it! We came here so often this summer with our toddler. The social aspect was a draw for us, we enjoyed hanging out with other young families & friends in town here.
Just recently, I tried out their gym & the childcare in Kaleidoscope with our newest baby. My infant is very well cared for while I get a โbreakโ to work out. We decided to extend our membership beyond summer, finding great value in some of the other offerings beyond the pools! โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ

Great pools and friendly staff. The bungalows and grills are a nice touch. Large enough pools and grass that you won't even notice a large birthday party. Juliana's snack bar is great for a quick bite or ice cream for the kids.

Itโs ok but there are problem with the gym. They only have 1 bench and 2 squat racks which are the most used pieces of equipment. If bench press was your first workout sometimes people use the bench for 25 minutes so you can start your workout way later than you would like. Normally I would not be complaining at all but for this price! Come on guys.

My 3 year old daughter almost drowned during a swim class. DO NOT enroll in swim classes here. The staff is completely negligent! I had to pull my own 3 year old out of the water when she was drowning. The teacher had her back to her (which is rule #1 for instructors...never turn your back on a student). The life guard didnโt even move! He didnโt come over to check for secondary drowning. No incident report was filled out. Had I been on my phone or not paying attention, my daughter wouldnโt be here right now. A pool FULL of swimmers, families, instructors, lifeguards let my child almost drown. The director called me the next day admitting of all their wrong doings. The class had 6 students when the max was 4. This club only cares about money...not safety. Do not make my mistake...save your money and go to a safer place. Shame on Thoreau and their negligent instructor.

For the price I was not "wowed." Pool area is beautiful but there are TWO huge hot tubs right in the middle of the pool area that children are not allowed to use. Why on Earth would they put them right in the middle of the pool area and then make them 18+ only??? Why not have one be 18+ and the other be a slightly lower temperature and kid-friendly??? This place is nice, but ultimately not that kid-friendly. Seemed to cater more to older crusty Concordians who seemed to be quite bothered that kids were there at all.

The staff were very polite. Was there for a group outing and when the food was over, they made sure I got some as I was a little late. Has a huge swimming pool, Zipline and rope challenge course. Zipline is funny because you need to climb the tree using a tiny ladder. The effort put into climb is not worth the experience esp. after having food.

Well maintained, long running, sports and gym club in Acton, MA. Staff seemed to be generally friendly and helpful and the tennis courts, which I used are well maintained and stocked with tennis balls, pickers, etc. Tennis courts do have bubbles for winter play.

I can only comment on their summer camp which is terrific. It is a bit pricey but there are plenty of counselors who are very friendly with the kids. My son loves it and has attended for the last 3 years.
