Working with Dan the last several months has been a difference maker in how I am able to navigate life. I am stronger, more agile, flexible, and generally healthier than I was. Dan creates a fully customized approach, with specific movements targeting mobility issues I had struggled with but could never quite solve with other cookie-cutter workouts. Dan is amazing to work with. He builds a program specifically for you, explains the "why" of everything, and works with you to help you achieve whatever goals you set. Dan was referred by a friend who knew I was having knee issues and wanting to strengthen my quads to help my knees. I did CrossFit for 5 years, did CrossFit like workouts at home for about 4 years and was also in a workout rut. Working with Dan, has been great! He makes you accountable, you can set your own pace. The weekly check in is nice. You tell him what you have available to you equipment wise and he can make it happen. He made a vacation plan for me. He makes adjustments for you. It’s very nice to have a catered program just for you! My knee has improved in multiple ways.

Dan has helped me get back into a routine of working out, building good practices and working through limitations. Following some in person sessions, we moved to remote, which makes it easier to fit exercise into a busy schedule, while still having the guidance. I am so grateful to have Dan on my team. I have a tendency to overdo it in my workouts and then get hurt or burnt out fast and I’ve been on a rollercoaster with prioritizing myself because of life stuff. I started my fitness journey with Dan at Thrive MVMNT around 6 months back and the experience so far has been extremely satisfying and rewarding. I needed something new. I needed to shift my mindset and meet my body where it is today, 53 years old and getting sore and cranky. Gym memberships were a waste of money for me, I have no time to go spend hours there creating a workout for myself or a desire to pay an inexperienced personal trainer on top of that membership. I searched for something new and came across Thrive. Dan met with me on the phone first and we did a deep dive into my goals, my restrictions, my likes and dislikes and from there we met in person to further that discussion. I consider myself above average when it comes to athletic mechanics and fitness knowledge due to my profession, I work full time in athletics and can tell you that Dan’s is extremely educated and knowledgeable in every aspect. We work on goals and reason why things are working or not working. I can come twice a week and feel more results than i ever have going to the gym sporadically. He takes the time to prepare your body to take on more gradually and effectively. I have been able to see great results with my back pain and overall strength. Working with Dan has been incredibly empowering and one of the best decisions I've made "for me". After 2 spine surgeries in a 4 year period, I thought I would be sleeping in my recliner forever because laying flat was so painful and daily activities were still such a challenge...not to mention I was terrified of hurting myself or doing certain movements. We've had to rebuild the foundation and address lots of other underlying issues/habits, retrain how my brain/body thinks and reacts to certain movements, stress and sleep, but we continue to make progress that I didn't think I would ever see. Some of the best are that my quality of sleep has improved significantly over the past year, I'm able to sleep all night (and laying flat) and I work on not scheduling every hour of my day so that I can continue to work towards living the long, happy, healthy and strong life that I want for myself. Dan has taught me the importance of sleep, self-talk, identifying and acknowledging the small successes I see and learning that those small successes DO lead to incredible progress. He continues to help me navigate curve balls the universe throws at me, tailors our workouts/exercises to where I'm at, and has taught me that chronic pain doesn't have to be part of my daily life. I cant say enough about Dan. Not only is he caring, methodical and knowledgeable, but he is the utmost professional. He has helped me overcome my chronic back pain and regain strength and stability. I kept sustaining back spasms regularly that left me unable to do simple tasks, nevermind continue my workout program. Being a very active person, I began second guessing everything i was doing in my workouts and all my daily activities & patterns. He’s easily the best trainer I’ve ever worked with. He’s very knowledgeable with nutrition and with improving movement/flexibility.
