Cortney is an amazing Pilates instructor. I’ve practiced Pilates for over 20 years and I’ve never had an instructor who has been more focused on getting the best results for me and from me each session. I walk out after each session feeling taller and stronger. Cortney knows how to focus in on just the right stretch or position to make you feel amazing. She’s also a warm and caring woman and lots of fun to be around. I can’t say enough good things about Cortney and TONEpilates.

Let me tell you she is the most patient and amazing teacher. I should’ve done this a long time ago and I have a severe disability issue that would scare most people away. She works with some great professionals at local hospitals here in Boston and she is professional, kind and just amazing. I feel great. I reached out to Cortney back in July desperate to find myself after a year of caring for my mother and her subsequent death in June. From the time I walked into her studio until now I have gained strength, flexibility and confidence in my abilities! I suffer from a bulging disc in my back that leaves me all but incapacitated but with the core strength I have gained, I haven’t had any flares in months! The laughter, kindness and expertise Cortney brings to each in studio season and the on demand videos at home are amazing!! It feel more like we are just hanging out rather than working out!! I cannot put into words how much I love Cortney and her pilates. I'm trying to come up with a way to describe Cortney's energy, and all I can think of is a ray of sunshine. She is such a good human being that when you are around her you feel lighter and happier. The sessions are filled with laughter, chit chat, and amazing pilates that will push you just enough to grow stronger each time. Cortney has changed the game for how I view my workouts, and I cannot believe I look forward to working out now. Cortney's at home videos are so unique and fun, it feels like she's right there in the living room with you and you'll never get bored. If you are lucky enough to get an in-person session with Cortney, then I sincerely hope you cherish it because she is such a special person to come in contact with. Cortney knows the body so well, and will make the necessary adjustments for you so that you are never straining yourself and you will always be enjoying the challenge of pilates. She will work on your flexibility, fluidity, muscle toning, and core strengthening all with a smile on her face and the most nurturing support you could ask for. Exercise has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Team sports, cardio, spin, weightlifting, yoga… it took 42 years for me to try Pilates and I have no idea why. I decided to reach out to Cortney after dealing with a neck/back/disc issue. Her on demand classes and one on ones have been amazing. She is a master of her craft and is so intuitive. I recently lost a lot of weight and wanted to enhance my walking for exercise to include Pilates. I reached out to Cortney, who got me started with her OnDemand Mat Beginner classes. I’ve now been doing these weekly classes for over 2 months and have gotten so much out of them! Cortney is an amazing teacher. Her OnDemand classes are great! She is funny and engaging and really knows her work! Cortney does a wonderful job of challenging her students to keep going and try new things! She also makes sure to touch base with her students to see how they are doing and to ensure that the Pilate moves are working for them. I highly recommend!!!! Cortney is awesome!!!

I have been dealing with chronic lower back pain for 3 years now. After trying acupuncture and pt, I was told to try pilates to strengthen my core. I have only been working with Cortney for about 2 months, but I am already starting to feel a bit stronger, and a bit of a relief. I know this is where I need to be right now. Cortney is an amazing instructor. She is kind, caring and very attuned to the body. I look forward to my sessions in person with her as well as the on demand classes! She makes it fun! When I started training with Cortney I had chronic pain in my IT band, along with regular flare ups from tendinitis in my arm. I was also watching my elderly mother get weaker and less mobile every day. At 66 I felt it was high time I commit to real self care.
Cortney's passion for Pilates is contagious and I was hooked from the start. I trained with Cort one day a week - within a few months my chronic pain was gone! Now I do her OnDemand class 5 or 6 times a week. I love that she's naturally funny and makes me laugh, super important that it's fun as well as challenging.. Working with Courtney has been absolutely phenomenal. After experiencing a dance relate injury, I was sent over to Tone Pilates for healing as well as future injury prevention, and there are seriously not enough words to describe just how much I loved it! Each lesson we get to try new things and explore different dimensions in regards to my physical ability. Where do I begin!!!! From the minute I walked into Cortney’s studio I felt comfortable, relaxed, excited, and motivated! She is helping in my recovery from my 4 shoulder surgeries which is challenging, but the overall feeling I have when I leave is so uplifting!!
My last surgery was the removal of my 1st rib (rib resection). My diagnosis is Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. TOS is a group of disorders that occur when blood vessels or nerves in the space between your collarbone and your 1st rib (thoracic outlet) are compressed. This can cause pain in your shoulders and neck and numbness in your fingers. My doctor would not allow me to go to PT. With TOS it’s really about healing your nerves and releasing all the compression.
I have been in pain for so long and started to accept this was just a part of my life now.
November was 2 years since my rib resection and I have been in a lot of pain.
My NP from Mass General Hospital told me to look into Pilates.
I contacted Cortney and sent my doctors prescription with what they wanted me to work on. She called me and we discussed further.
I’m almost at my 10th visit, yes only 10 and OMG she has moved mountains for me (and you who know her she actually would really try to move a mountain for you). The work Cortney is doing, is amazing!! She’s teaching with me to open up my chest and shoulders that I have been protecting my upper body for 2 years now. She’s helping me open up my shoulder area to release all the compression, strengthening areas that have become weak, elongating my spine, and working my core. PEOPLE, when I tell you it’s working, it’s working!
To stand up, open up my chest and roll my shoulders back and feel the relief of my body not having to protect itself anymore...... she is bringing me back to bring ME again. Cortney is full of fresh air, laugher and most of all encouragement. I only wish I found her earlier! She works wonders and I am super excited to continue my journey with her right by my side!
I’ve never experienced or even thought of Pilates before. My healing has only begun and I look forward to my future with TONE Pilates 💕

I have been a client of Cortney‘s for over 15 years - I like to say that I was Cortney‘s first when she opened her studio! Over the years I have worked on the reformer and the mat. For 12 years I went to Cortney’s studio. Most recently, I reconnected with her after I moved to the Cape and Cortney offered Zoom classes because of the pandemic. I must say that is the best thing that I can attribute to COVID-19!

Over the years, I have had many physical challenges, some coming from just getting older and others from accidents. I believe that Cortney‘s real gift is here awareness of the body — my body – and what it needs to heal. I currently am taking a private Zoom class. She begins each class by asking how I feel and if I have any concerns. With that information she adjusts her instruction to give me the best pain-free work out. I don’t know how she does it, but she watches me on her laptop and can tell if my position is a little off or if I seem to be having any difficulty.

I believe that my doing as well as I have physically through the years is directly attributable to the knowledge and care that Cortney has shown me. I am fortunate to call her a friend. Thank you, Cortney…

If I could give Cortney 6+ stars I would!! I have now been with Cortney for about 2 years and I have to say that it has been one of the best things that i have done for myself in a long time. Several years ago, I made a New Year's resolution that I was going to focus on my physical health. I had chronic back pain from an injury 20 years earlier and as I got older it was getting to a point where it was affecting my day to day life. Little did I know that going to Cortney would positively change my life in so many ways!! 2 years in, my back pain is gone and my core strength is so strong. While I am sure there are other pilates instructors out there that are great, what makes Cortney so special is her absolute passion for what she is doing. She is constantly bringing new exercises to motivate me and push me and there are times I honestly believe she is more excited about my accomplishments than I am!! She brings such a great attitude and spirit to her work that brings me joy and makes me look forward to the next session. I will forever be grateful to her for helping me overcome my chronic back pain and now consider her a dear friend!

I went from having no hope after I fractured my spine....I did numerous Physical Therapy, doctor appointments, cortisone shots, going to the gym with no improvement,.

After two weeks of Chiropractic and Pilates, My plantar fasciitis improved significantly, I could sleep, my core was getting stronger and I was able to function. It’s now been a few months and I improve and get stronger every week with Pilates.

Our preschool children gets very excited when Cortney comes to our school ( CBE, ELC, Acton) to do Pilates. She is so good with the children, understands their energy and run the program according to their needs. I have been a client of Tone Pilates since its' beginning, and beyond.
Throughout the years the quality of my life has been enhanced because of Pilates itself, but more so because of the Instructor! I suffer (ed) with chronic back issues and was never able to stick with a traditional gym/fitness facility....I always ended up injuring myself, and then not being able to work out. Enter Cortney Murray...Cortney utilizes her physical therapy background to fully assess and evaluate each client, and then devise a personalized Pilates session for them, that targets, without sustaining injury, the core strength training that is the basis of Pilates.
She understands issues like spasm, trigger spots, strain and adjusts the workout for maximum benefit each session. This is no ordinary studio.
If you have ever thought about trying Pilates and were unsure if it would be good for you...IT WOULD...it is good for every body!
I now enjoy life without chronic, debilitating back pain...every now and then I do something stupid and I feel pain...again...Cortney is able to work around those days, and still give me my workout. And I ALWAYS walk out feeling better than when I walked it!!
