Would you believe me if I told you, I was over 100 pounds heavier when I started dancing with Tumbao? (Pix attached 😬with some friends) The year was 2023 when my journey started. I didn’t know my left foot from my right one. A little light got turned on inside me. Reminded me “When in doubt, Dance it out!”, said Señor Santos. I learned to let it ALL go and be free when dancing. The instructors, junior instructors along with class assistants were patient then, and even more so now. They are dedicated to just bring IT out of you. Tumboa is not just a place to learn to dance. It’s your place for self rediscovery, self love and some good old fun. Try it…you ‘ll see🥰.

I’ve been at Tumbao since November, thinking I knew how to dance—turns out, I just knew how to move my hips. I came in feeling like a bachata pro, but they humbled me real quick! Still working on my leading skills, but I’ve made serious progress: completed Intro to Salsa, crushed Salsa 1, and now tackling Salsa 1.5. And that’s just the beginning—there’s Salsa 2, Salsa 3, and even Salsa on 1.

I’m really happy with my current level and excited for what’s next. This month, I’m diving into Bachata Flow to step up my game. The instructors are great, and because there’s variety, you’re always learning something new. Each level truly prepares you for the next, making the progression feel natural.

I do this for fun, and honestly, I’ll probably be here for a while. If you’re thinking about joining, just sign up for everything—it’s 100% worth it!

My fiance and I attended the Valentines’s Day event that Tumbao hosted with 3 Sisters Studio. We had an awesome time! The painting session was super cute and well led, and then we got to take a mini bachata dance class and dance together with Kristian’s guidance (Director of Tumbao Dance). It was a great activity for Valentine’s Day, and we will definitely be returning for future events - I need to perfect my bachata! This local business is awesome and is doing a great job.

Kristian was an amazing instructor! He prepared my husband and I with a fun bachata for our first wedding dance. At first we couldn’t seem to get the hang of it but after 10 weeks we killed it at our wedding and we owe it all to him. I would highly recommend attending classes here or hiring him as your dance choreographer! Thanks Kristian!

I arrived at my first lesson with a lot of anxiety about trying something so far out of my comfort zone; but was quickly set at ease by Kristian’s welcoming and kind demeanor. Kristian choreographed our first dance for our wedding (bachata) and we had a blast. The package was really reasonable and included 5 classes plus one on one choreography. We are both extremely uncoordinated and he made us look cool at our wedding - not an easy job but he did it with a big smile and patience. We still talk about the fun time we had and how kind he was. Highly recommend for classes or to impress your family with your new moves at your wedding.
