There is a lot to love about this gym. I was very nervous to try CrossFit since it has a reputation of being intense, but was pleasantly surprised how welcoming and scalable all the workouts are. There is a very strong focus at this gym on correct form and the programing is written in such a way where there is time built in to teach and scale the skill before the main section of the workout starts.
The coaches have been great and the owner truly fosters a culture of feedback and support. I appreciate how varied the programming can be and that the workouts stay interesting. The lifting days focus on form and mechanics rather and the days that are more cardio/ conditioning based have HITT type exercises. They do have concept 2 bikes, row and ski ergs but i appreciate that they aren't written in to the workout every day. Variety is the spice of life.
Lastly, DOGOS! They are a delight.

So after training consistently at Turbo Crossfit for some time- I've decided to update my review.
When I started, it felt like a good gym- and now, it feels like an amazing space to be in. The quality of coaches, the community feel, the friendly faces, and the support- no matter your starting level- is exceptional across the board.
I am very familiar with the standard gym environment, but the crossfit technique took me a little (and continues to) to adjust to. The coaches are kind, understanding, and always willing to scale to where you are and know when to push you. The members who have been training there for a time have inspiring strength, and the ages range from 20s to 60s.
I'm leaving the Winchester/Woburn area for a while, and I honestly am going to miss Turbo Crossfit and all of the people as being part of my daily routine.
No matter where you are in your fitness journey- this is a great place to be.
And DOGS!

I am very happy I found Mountain Strength Fitness! The coaches are wonderful, respectful, and dedicated to fitness. Even in a group setting, I feel like Iβm getting personal training, as the coaches will tailor workouts when/if I need it. Itβs more than a gym, it is a community of people who encourage fitness and wellbeing. I am already seeing results after one month, where exercising on my own wasnβt moving the needle. I look forward to waking through the door and dedicating an hour to myself. I highly recommend Mountain Strength Fitness.

The most effective and fun fitness experience Iβve ever had! MSFβs multi-disciplinary approach delivers amazing results and the variety ensures that Iβm never bored. While the workouts are challenging, most movements can be adapted to any fitness level. The coaches and other participants are very supportive as well. Highly recommend!

I've been working out at Mountain Strength since November and my entire life is better for it. Even though I've been working out most of my life, I've learned a ton about proper form, breathing, pacing and how to maximize your workout to build muscle and burn fat without cannibalizing one or the other goal/effort. The coaches are super knowledgeable, friendly and create a warm environment and for those of us getting back into shape that makes it much easier. And, since I've gone I notice other sports like skiing and biking became tremendously more fun and easier, thanks to these workouts!

This is such a great gym, with VERY competent coaches. I have to preface my review by stating that my main workout style is CrossFit, but I drop-in to all styles of gyms and classes (I typically workout in 2-8 different gyms each month). The gym is clean and inviting. Upon my first visit I was greeted by the coach and owner who gave me a tour of the gym and helped me get settled in; very friendly and welcoming! This part is very important to me: the warm-up was perfect for the workout, relevant to the movements we would perform in the class, and really got the body ready to perform. The attention to detail in the coach's explanation and breakdown for our primary move of the day (jerk/split jerk) shows the expertise of the coaching and set me up for success in my actual working sets. The coach was very attentive, stopping by regularly to give helpful tips and of course cheer on positive performance. I definitely recommend this gym to people who are seeking high quality coaching, attentive and friendly staff, and a positive fitness environment.

I have been attending Mountain Strength for about a year now, and I am happy to say that it has been exactly what I needed. Good coaches ( I primarily go to the 5:30pm classes, so it has been coach Jorge primarily, but I have interacted with a couple other coaches along the way as well) who are accommodating and knowledgeable and explain/call you out if you are doing something with horrendous form/technique. The community renders itself to a great mix of competitive yet friendly environment. During the current climate, the gym was gracious enough to rent out the equipment (all of it was fair game, barbells, weights, med balls, plates, rowers etc. " if it fits (in your vehicle) I sits" mentality) and provided zoom/online classes for people who needed a structured workout to follow. And now, during the outdoor classes during the current re-opening phase, the areas/boxes are well marked off in the parking lot with ample space to use equipment in a safe and distanced manner. All the used equipment is sanitized and wiped down after every class and if for some reason you do need to go indoors for water or restroom, masks are mandatory and hand sanitizers are provided at the entrance. As a cherry on the top, they even provide nutrition programming and an in-house massage therapist if you need those additional components to better yourself. All in all, a great community to workout with!

I've been a member for about 3 years and can't say enough good things about Mountain Strength. A welcoming and supportive environment, a wonderful community of athletes, and amazing coaches who will help you toward your goals no matter your level of experience. The gym has even provided a sense of community through the pandemic, with Zoom workouts and (more recently) some great outdoor classes. So lucky to have this!

This is a phenomenal place!! The programming is excellent, the coaches are knowledgeable, engaging and thoughtful, and the diligent precautions during this time of covid 19 keep us all safe and give us peace of mind! While folks were staying at home, they kept us engaged and FIT through Zoom classes, equipment rental, virtual events and discussions. The parking lot wods have been a wonderful option - love seeing eachother and they are both fun and challenging! Thank you all! I love Mountain Strength!! * air hugs * love, cari

Rich has been at it for a long time and it shows in the quality at Mountain Strength. He takes the time to work with each individual and puts together a solution that they need regardless if that's personal training, nutrition, group classes, or my favorite...obstacle course racing classes! I'm very lucky to have crossed paths with Rich and Mountain Strength.

Rich has been coaching, leading and helping people transform their lives through fitness, nutrition and health for a long time. He's worked with people who have never worked out a day in their lives and helped them become healthy and fit as well as people who want to win their next obstacle course race. He knows what he's doing and so does his staff. But you shouldn't take my word for it, set up an consultation and find out how they can work with you!

I walked into MSCF (in march 2019) as a distance runner who needed help. After talking to my orthopedic surgeon about possibly going under the knife for multiple knee issues, I figured this would be a last attempt and didn't hold out much hope for recovery. Months of PT didn't help, how would this be any different?
I wasn't able to do a full squat or lunge without PAIN and stairs were becoming an obstacle I tried to avoid.
Fast forward to this past week. After coming to the gym 3x a week since March, I was able to complete 6 rounds of a workout that included 75 squats AT FULL RANGE of motion, and yesterday did my first full set of lunges!!!!
The coaches are great, very patient, and will modify ANY movement to make sure everyone is working out safely.
If you are thinking about joining, do it. You won't regret it! I sure don't!
PS - thank you to all the coaches and owner Rich, you are the best! Thank you for helping me get my knees back!!!

I joined MSCF 2 years ago. Iβm 55 years old and was a bit concerned it might be too much for me. The coaches and members are so supportive. Every movement and workout is scalable. We work hard, itβs chalkenging but safe and doable for everyone. I love it and my fitness level is improving every week!

Not sure what to expect, I dropped into a class over 5 years ago and the rest, as they say, is history. Every class is different, challenging and never a dull moment. The coaches are exceptional and know how to modify a workout if something doesn't work for you. The community is what makes MSCF truly special -- it's what makes the place shine. A remarkable place for anyone, regardless of age!

If you are looking for an excellent workout in a supportive and motivating environment, Mountain Strength CrossFit is the place to go! The coaches are willing to meet you wherever you are in terms of strength, endurance, and coordination. MSCF has been a great fit for my husband and me (in our 50s) and our teenage daughter. We've all achieved things we would have never imagined two years ago when we started.

MSCF has been a great experience for me. The combination of great coaches and a friendly and welcoming community really works. A lot of people are intimidated by the idea of crossfit (I certainly was) but Rich and his team will ease you into it. The workouts are challenging, but the coach will work with you to scale them to your ability, every day is different so it never gets boring or routine in the way "normal" gyms do.

Mountain Strength CrossFit is an amazing CrossFit gym with responsible and knowledgeable coaches, and an incredibly supportive and fun community. Mountain Strength also has an incredibly active trail running, Spartan and OCR membership, and runs regular Spartan training courses in addition to the usual CrossFit workouts - an added bonus if you like endurance sports!

Never had so much fun exercising! The coaches are great, they really help me every day with their expert and professional advice. In less than 6 months I got stronger and healthier (and accomplished my first pull ups and even run my first spartan race!!!). And the best part? MSCF is like family and I felt welcomed and supported since the very first day β€οΈ

I started going to MSCF 9 months ago (after wanting to try Crossfit for a few years). I've always been an athlete but never comfortable lifting weights. But it turns out I LOVE it and I've never felt stronger! The coaches are incredible and work with you and where you are, the workouts are fun, and the community is great. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a good and different workout - no matter your fitness level!

Coming up on a year since I joined Mountain Strength Cross Fit, and I cannot say enough good things about them. The coaches are friendly and knowledgeable, and no matter your strength or skill level, they alway help you to safely do the best you can. The workouts vary from day to day such that you never go in thinking that you are doing the same old things. The community is welcoming to all and a large part what makes you want to come in each day. Whatever your fitness level, I would encourage you to give them a try.
