I’ve been training with Dillon at Underground Fitness for a little over three months, and it’s been a great experience. I came in with a solid fitness baseline, but Dillon has helped me reach a new level. I’m definitely the strongest I’ve ever been, and I’ve seen results faster than I expected. The studio itself is awesome - clean, well-equipped, and never crowded. The trainers are all friendly and make it an easy place to train. Highly recommend Dillon and the UF team.

I finally found a workout place that works out perfectly for me! The staff are knowledgeable, fun and caring. I came there with back and shoulder issues… and some motivation issues (:-) … Having learned proper techniques, I feel so much better and motivated to exercise now. If you want consistent, versatile, and personable workouts to fit your goals, 100% I recommend working with Jordan at Underground! As soon as I walked into the door, I was always welcomed by Joe too- made me feel so comfortable. I trust at Underground the trainers are knowledgable and passionate about what they do while also maintaining a real/positive environment (motivation!!). Truly was so happy with my experience and only left because I moved.

I have been training with Joe since September 2024 and cannot say enough good things about him and my overall experience. After a total hip replacement and 6 months of physical therapy, I was ready to work with a trainer who could help me fully recover and get back to my pre-pain and pre-surgery fitness level. Joe is excellent. He curates a plan of exercises to improve mobility and flexibility while also helping me rebuild strength and stamina. He sprinkles in safe versions of my favorite exercises and keeps our sessions interesting. He is patient, understanding and creative in his approach. I appreciate him as a trainer and a person. And, I am noticing results. I am feeling better and stronger each week.

I also like that Underground Fitness is not a gym, but a personal training studio. There are not the usual gym distractions of waiting for equipment or people being all over the place. It feels like a relaxing place where I can focus on what I am there to do. I highly recommend it.

Jordan has been my personal trainer for several years. I appreciate his ability to keep me motivated by varying our routine, paying attention to my energy level and any challenging areas in my body. While he has a plan for each session, he always checks in first to see how I am feeling and makes any needed modifications. As a woman in my 50's, I appreciate this attention to detail. My fitness, strength/mobility and overall health goals are the core focus of our sessions.
Additionally, Jordan is just fun and phenomenal to work with. He builds an easy and comfortable report and the time truly flies! I find him to be knowledgeable/ well studied on a variety of topics both on fitness and related areas like nutrition and wellness/longevity. We discuss and implement new approaches as the science behind fitness evolves.
I recommend Jordan for anyone from the most athletic looking to maximize their peak performance to someone like myself who needs direction, structure, and accountability to prioritize fitness in an efficient way with a busy work/home life.
Training with Jordan has become an important part of my own self care and helps me stay focused and productive at a higher level overall. I recommend him without hesitation!

I have a tough time figuring out how to balance my daily schedule and training, and I'm not always entirely clear on my goals. Jordan helps me craft a plan and set specific fitness goals. He’s also instrumental in showing me the importance of balancing rest and training, which helps me avoid major injury in the gym. His rigor, attentiveness, and overall compassion create a positive and motivating gym experience for me. I started training with Underground Fitness in 2021. I was incredibly nervous to get to working out and expressed that to my trainer, Dan, in my first session. Dan eased me into the experience, going at my own pace, and I quickly saw my strength and energy levels go up! I look forward to my sessions every week because I always leave with a huge smile on face knowing they have helped me accomplish my goals. I’ve been training with Underground Fitness since 2021 and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! I train once or twice a week with Dillon and I’ve been able to feel and see the results in my day to day life. Growing up I was always on a sports team, so having a personal trainer to help me feel motivated inside and outside the gym has been a game changer. Dillon helps me to understand what works for me in the gym, provides me with exercises I can do on my own time, and coaches me through exercises in a judgement free way. Underground Fitness is filled with incredible trainers, just like Dillon, who are always there to greet you with a smile and/or fist bump, a wealth of exercise knowledge, and many laughs along the way. If you’re looking for a place with a healthy, positive environment to help you get to where you want to be physically, I cannot recommend Underground Fitness enough!

I've had over 300 sessions with the team at Underground Fitness, and at this point it's become a home away from home for me. Everyone at UF is super friendly and strikes the right balance of fun conversation and focused work.

I really appreciate that the workout plans incorporate lots of balance and mobility - I used to shy away from squats, and the trainers at UF helped me identify mobility issues in my upper back, hips, and ankles, and worked tirelessly to help me address these over several months. I'm now doing exercises like deep front squats, bulgarian split squats, kettlebell halos on a balance beam, and turkish getups, and they make me feel way more athletic and way stronger than back when I was just trying to add plates to my bench and deadlift.

On top of everything, the UF studio is really well designed and all of the equipment is very clean, in great condition, and high quality. I trained at Equinox for 3+ years before switching to UF, and the experience is night-and-day better, since we're working in a private studio and not trying to find space and equipment on a crowded gym floor.

Joining Underground Fitness has been amazing for my physical (and mental!) health, and I'd highly recommend it for anyone looking for one of the best fitness experiences in Boston.

I highly recommend Dan as a personal trainer! He is personable, knowledgeable, motivating, and makes working out enjoyable. Dan does a great job at creating challenging, individualized workouts that are different each week, and is sure to correct me on form when needed to prevent injuries. I have been training with Joe for over two years now and I can’t say enough good things! Joe has tailored workouts to my specific goals, strengths, and weaknesses, as he does with all his clients, and is able to motivate and encourage me based on my personal motivational and fitness style. He is fun and easy to talk to about everything from the more obvious fitness and nutrition topics to movies, books, the latest reality show craze, or even deeper philosophical issues. Training does not stop when you leave the gym, as he continues to check in throughout the week to provide oft-needed boosts of motivation, and he has even helped provide home workouts for times I would be away or otherwise unable to make it to the gym. He has done more for my low back problems than physical therapy ever did, and continues to help me strengthen it to avoid more problems down the line. Joe has always prioritized safety in our workouts above all else, but especially during COVID, by providing endless supplies of sanitizer, requiring masks at all times, and limiting the space to one client at a time. I would highly recommend Joe, as training is certainly his calling!

Joe is truly the best of the best. I highly recommend Joe as a personal trainer. I'd known Joe for almost a year before we talked about the prospect of his becoming my personal trainer. I was already aware of his educational background and some of his work experience, and knew he was driven to help his clients meet and exceed their personal goals.

I'd had a personal trainer before Joe, who I'd worked with, who had made a career change, and I took my time in selecting a new trainer, as I'd learned the importance of the relationship between my rapport with my trainer, and the success I would realize in working together.

"Professional", "expert", "creative", "motivational" and "encouraging" are the first words that come to mind when I think of Joe. He seems to intuitively know how to push me beyond what I thought my limits were, without going too far, which has pushed me to work that much harder.

He consistenly shows creativity in designing my workouts (which are always prepared in advance), and he records my performance, to assist him in developing my future workouts. I know Joe's reputation as a trainer must be good, because in the rare instance of needing to reschedule a session, I've learned he's quite busy.

As a result of training with Joe, I have found myself working out on my own more often at the gym. I think it's fair to say I'm in better shape now than I have been in the last 20 years, and I know that Joe has played an instrumental role in the new lifestyle I'm embracing!

If I were able to give him more than 5 stars, I wouldn't hesitate to do so.
