This is my daughter’s third year of ballet at Allegro, her second year in the Nutcracker performance, and she’s done some summer camps there also. My daughter started here years ago with toddler ballet and then returned last year and back at it this year/season. The teachers/coaches are so kind and patient. The location is awesome (and they have a new, additional building), the front staff is super patient and helpful and the atmosphere is just overall great. Unfortunately, for some reason, most people choose to only leave negative commentary when reviewing a restaurant or business. Few rarely take the time to point out good or positive experiences they had as a result of great products or services which leads me to this review of Allegro Dance and more specifically Jenn Monte.

After watching my step daughter performance this past Friday with her Varsity Pom-Pom team it ignited a conversation with our family about where her journey all began.

Retracing the steps, we ended up having a lengthy conversation about Gabby's first dance instructor Jenn. We laughed as we thought about all the recitals we attended watching 4, 5 and 6 year old's try to figure out the complexities of ballet and tap and marveled remembering how wonderful Jenn was as an instructor.

Let's be honest, teaching and guiding groups of 3-7 year old little girls takes a special person with boundless patience, unlimited energy and a capacity for caring that most of us simply don't have.

When Gabby first started attending Jenn's classes in 2006, I'll admit I was worried. How was this little girl that couldn't sit still for more than 30 seconds going to handle instruction from a stranger when she had trouble listening at home?

To my amazement, Gabby took to Jenn immediately and although she wasn't the best student or dancer she poured her little heart and soul into every class and recital. Jenn had a way about her that inspired Gabby and she never wanted to disappoint her teacher.

It was the first time Gabby had ever taken a liking to someone outside of her immediate family and that relationship continued to blossom as the years went by. Jenn helped Gabby discover confidence in herself and even though Gabby never became the top student in ballet, tap or hip hop that confidence did something greater - it propelled Gabby to work hard and never give up or back down to a physical challenge.

The confidence Jenn helped Gabby discover and harness led Gabby to take on gymnastics then competitive cheer which ultimately led to her trying out for Varsity Pom as an 8th grader the summer before her Freshman year of high school. She made the team and now as a Sophomore she's in her 2nd year on Varsity.

As we drove home from the football game on Friday night, the entire family laughed as we traded stories about watching Gabby and the other little girls in that first year of dance class 11 years ago. Thinking back, I still don't know how Jenn was able to get all those little girls organized and prepared without ever raising her voice or showing any sign of frustration. She handled every student with patience, care and kindness while providing excellent instruction and guidance.

During the conversation, I found out that Jenn had a new dance studio and I decided that it was important for me to tell Gabby's story because I truly believe that without Jenn 's tutelage Gabby wouldn't be where she is today.

It's easy to forget about the people that help each of us along the way especially as the time flies by, but people like Jenn that help inspire little girls to reach their potential need to be recognized and thanked.

I'm sure there's many other dance parents that have similar stories and experiences about Jenn and I hope they will find time to share them as well because I think it's important to let people know when they are great at what they do and thank them for their efforts. Thanks again Jenn!

This is our 3rd year at Allegro. We switched from another studio to Allegro, because I felt I was paying for an hour of play time with girls rather than learning dance techniques. My daughter was 5 when we made the switch. We started with petite ballet, we are now in pre professional ballet class. Jenn is very professional and very nice to the girls. What I love most about Allegro is the structure and discipline, not to much, but enough that girls are well behaved and very respectful to each other. Thanks to Jenn, my daughter’s dance skills have progressed dramatically this past few years.

We switched to Allegro dance this year for my daughters petite jazz for 4-6 yr olds. Our experience with Allegro dance and Jenn Montie has exceeded our expectation! Jenn is professional, respectful, positive as she shares her passion for dance with little ones. My daughters confidence in her dancing and her love for dance have soared since being instructed by Jenn. The studio is clean and they are quick to respond to inquiries. My daughter has been asking to take more classes and she asks before we out of the building how many more days until she can come back for class. I highly recommend!

My daughter (age 4) started petite jazz earlier this year. She loves the class and is very enthusiastic every week about what she learned. In fact, almost every morning after she wakes up, she asks me if she can go to jazz class! This is my 3 year old daughter's first year and she absolutely loves the class. She had fun with all of the other girls in the class beginning to learn dance. Jenn, the owner, did a wonderful job of teaching the class and keeping all of the students engaged. Her easy going and understanding nature was paramount in teaching and supporting children so young. All of the girls seemed to have a great time and my daughter can't wait for her next class. I would recommend Allegro Dance to anyone. We absolutely love it. The facility was very clean, had 2 waiting rooms, and 2 large bathrooms that were very easy to get my child ready. Overall and amazing experience.

I would like to share with you what happened to my daughter yesterday, so you can help me spread the word to your family and friends about Allegro Dance..

Today my two girls went to our second dance class at Allegro Dance which is owned and directed by Jenn Montie...
The class is divided into two sessions. The first 1/2 hr is ballet, which seemed to go smooth. The second half is jazz , as the session started a few minutes into it, one of my daughters ran out into the waiting room upset saying that none of the girls were being nice to her . So I redirected her and told her to go back in and focus on the class... A few minutes later my daughter was shoved out of the class into the waiting room by the teacher and was told not to return... My daughter at this point was on the floor crying and then ran out of the building.. Myself, and three other mothers were all sitting there and witnessed it and were in complete shock... I immediately ran after my daughter to see if she was ok and to settle her down.. She was in tears and devastated from the teacher ....
Returning back to the waiting room I found one of the moms yelling at the teacher with disgust and shock.. Along with our families there were three other families that didn’t witness what happened but heard from the other side of the waiting room... As the teacher made her way to the door of the waiting room to try to explain herself to all of us she was in tears from guilt..

We all the grabbed our daughters and left the building.. Since then we have received an email stating that she has refunded us and have dropped the kids from the class, with NO apology.

I would like to spread this to our community so nobody supports this lady.. I would like to maybe report her to the state. I am so disgusted and furious ... Thank you

Allegro Dance is a one of a kind dance studio and has the most caring, fun and experienced dance instructor, Jennifer Montie. She has been involved in dance virtually her whole life from being a student to being an instructor and finally being an instructor at her own studio.
