Annoyed.
I messaged to get a rate for less than a year. I expressed clearly that I didn't need to see the place, I just wanted to know how much it would be a month for two people not in a year-long contract. They send a text to send an appointment... where I again said I didn't need that and just needed a rate. Then they send an email where I responded the same. By the second email where they said I need to see the place first, I was just wildly annoyed. I would NEVER use this gym. In what 2003 gym upsell hell does this place hail from? I asked a direct question. I'd rather drive to Ann Arbor in the snow than to deal with this nonsense.

Anytime Fitness Dexter continued to withdraw payments from my checking account long after my account was canceled. Total crooks. Do NOT sign a contract with these people.

Beware - Scam Contracts!! Never, ever give them your bank account info!
I asked if I could join for a month or two while my regular gym was getting renovated. They said I had to sign up for a 2 year contract but I could cancel anytime. Which is true - BUT if you cancel, you owe the balance of the months remaining in the 2 year contract. More than 30 days before the 2 year contract expired, I notified them in writing -by mail- not to renew my membership (required in the contract). Then, they said that wasn't good enough, I had to drive over there and fill out a form in person. I did that, but they kept charging me anyway. I had to go to my bank, report them for fraud, and have them blocked from making ACH debits from my account.

I haven’t experienced the billing issues others have mentioned, but I’m used to YMCA integrity and this isn’t that. Buyer beware.
My observation is that management is completely uninterested in maintaining the premises. There’s a hole in the drywall that’s been there for months, multiple elliptical machines have issues, the floor in the free weight area has major trip hazards, and something as simple as functioning wall clocks isn’t a priority. They send out surveys but no action is taken in response.

My favorite commercial gym location. Easy parking, NFC entry, quality equipment, friendly staff.

Don’t start a membership at an Anytime Fitness! For the price you can get much better amenities and equipment elsewhere, and they trap customers into contracts. I’m now stuck for another year with a 50 minute commute there and back to their nearest locations because it falls within a 15 mile radius of my new address per their bs policy. Learn from my mistake!

Crappy company that’s traps their consumers, theres no way out of the membership unless you become permanently disabled or move. It’s also very pricy and there’s plenty of other gyms for cheaper.

It is not possible to cancel the year long subscription if you missed to cancel an automatic extension after probation period end date by one day.
It can give you a hint about their attitude to clients.

The 3rd party payment company sucks I've had issues with them not taking the full payment out and then charging me a 19.50 fee and I had to go up to the gym show the person money was on there what they say they provide on the description is not true. Now as of 12/10/24 they are charging me early and say I don't have the funds in which I have 100 dollars in my account and I have two gym memberships so 42.00 flat payment I'm so sick of this place and since I've had trouble I wanted to opt out of the membership nope you can't unless your injured, moved or some other medical reason that stops you from coming up there . It's outrageous I'm over it, I will take action however I can and discontinue my memberships

Chet cook is right. This gym will continue taking your money even when I canceled my card. And still continued to charge me. They took me to collections. Shady gym don’t waste your money and time here. They will take advantage I even asked to speak with manger to work something out. But no response. And the gym is not clean bathrooms are gross.

My 15 yr old was a member if this gym. We put the membership on hold in April of 2024. The owner/manager, Brian, charged my son a month to put it on hold. Then before the freeze was up my son decided he didn't want to return. We canceled the account via a form over email. I work out of town during the week, and they are not there on the weekends. Brian wanted to collect another month of dues because we only gave a 21 day notice instead of 30 day notice. My son works to pay for his extra activities, he works hard is very honest. This gym continues to try a collect membership dues on now 16 year old for a membership he hasn't used since the 1st week in April. Yes he was current on all his monthly dues. I would think Brian would cut us little slack on 7 days. Especially since the membership was current, and not being used at all. Now a collection agency is going to be contacted over 7 days and a $132 bill.

I live in Ann Arbor but I’m so glad I joined this location - both of the A2 ones are pretty gross. This location is bright, clean, and has plenty of equipment. The manager Brian was welcoming and seems to care about making the gym a great place to work out. It’s more expensive than Planet Fitness because it has better equipment and it’s a better environment.

I was visiting the area and felt like I need a workout. The manager (Joe) was able to find a solution for me that worked out great. The gym itself is clean and nicely equipped. Would come back next time I'm in the area.

Professional staff. No pressure sales pitches. Wide variety of equipment available. Clean. And music at an appropriate level. This is the no brainier choice if you live in or near Dexter.

Place is always clean and the equipment is of a very high quality. Great atmosphere for anyone to excercise. Staff is extremely kind. Memeberships relatively inexpensive as compared to the wellness center nearby. Overall a great choice.

I’ve worked out in dozens of gyms over the past 30 years. Anytime Fitness (Dexter) is one of the best I’ve experienced. It’s clean, and has all new equipment. The staff is friendly and helpful. The other gym members range from 14 year old kids to octogenarians. It’s a comfortable , non-intimidating atmosphere. I highly recommend it.

My daughter is a D1 NCAA athlete and needed a place to train over Christmas break. We got a guest pass so she could join us at the new AF in Dexter. She has used both the YMCA and the Wellness Center, and she said this was way better than either of those. If you really want to train and get fit with top of the line equipment and free weights, this is the place.

This place feels like home! As an Registered Nurse that works daily in a COVID-19 intensive care unit every day I feel so safe working out in this gym. The owner provides many different disinfectant options and holds cleanliness to the upmost tier.

This is one of the nicest small gyms I’ve ever been to in the U.S.. The equipment is top notch (cross-fit and heavy weight trainers will be impressed), new and clean with ample spacing. It’s my go-to gym when not in NYC.

I’ve been coming to this new gym since it opened. It’s clean, has nice equipment, not over crowded, nice showers, and the owner has a genuine interest and knowledge of fitness.
