11/30/2025 I wish I could read this to a half a star the last update. I did got me a phone call from one of the employees trying to recover some sort of customer satisfaction without any traction the bathroom still on order, going on almost 2 months now and I’d be surprised if they even have an open order to fix it or an appointment for someone to come check it out it’s disgraceful the money that they charge us for the amenities that they don’t have. It’s getting harder and harder not to just go to planet fitness every time I come in this place obviously anytime fitness as a franchise does not care or else this will be fixed. I will be writing a letter to corporate as well. Shame I really did love this place! And if you look at my reviews, they’re typically good reviews unless you really go against the grain or not of your way to have no human decency or customer care

To Love this place had everything you need also all the other members are still very friendly however with the new guy running it he call me took my tanning away and charged me the same why would I not be grand fathered in 3 days out of 5 that I go the showers are cold it’s just gone Down hill since the gal left the picture is there vents in there they are filthy every vent is like that in the bathrooms to

Update 10/07/2025 I would give them half a star if I could the bathroom has been allegedly out of order for over a week close to 10 days because I asked the kid to clean the bathroom because it were disgusting he made sure to let me know that it wasn’t his job and that he doesn’t get paid extra for it. I apologize and I said never mind. His feelings must’ve still been hurt because he needs you to put that sign on the door. And I’d be surprised if any effort has been done to open it back up if there’s anything really wrong with it

I absolutely love Anytime fitness. The manager rocks, and exceedingly personable. The gym is always open, I don’t have to worry about them being closed for certain Holidays. Friendly atmosphere where members actually become friends. Love it.

John at Anytime fitness is so wonderful to work with. He took his time showing me the facility and set up a meeting with a trainer Chad. Chad makes working fun. He knows just how he can push me so I reach my fitness goals. I highly recommend Anytime fitness!!!!!

This is a tough review to write. I could give both 1 star or 5. The gym and it’s staff for the most part we’re amazing. I bought a year membership with the tanning package and unfortunately within a few months I had some medical problems and was not able to return. So I took advantage of being able to freeze your account for 3 months. And here is where the problem lays. They don’t actually freeze anything. They still charge you just like they normally do, they just add 3 free months onto the end of your membership. Well they say “free” but you still have to pay for tanning and the $50 “service fee” for maintenance or whatever they called it. Once I learned this I called and just cancelled my account so I wouldn’t get charged anymore. And then I notice THEY ARE STILL charging me. So again I call. The manager looked it up, apologized, and promised a refund. No big deal. It was only $20 for tanning. But he assured me I would get my money returned and not be charged again. And I wasn’t……..for tanning that is. Next thing I know they charge me the $50 fee that they assured me I wouldn’t be charged if I cancelled my membership. So I look back in my account to see if I was refunded the $20 for tanning and of course it was NEVER refunded. So I call, and again talk to the same manager, who quickly looked and became frustrated himself to find out their billing division had completely disregarded everything he had asked them to do. He had asked them to refund the money for tanning and NOT charge me for anything else in the future. Instead they didn’t refund a penny AND then charged me the $50 bi-annual fee. He assured me again he would call the owner and I would hear back by Monday from someone. As of right now it is early Monday morning and I am really hoping I get a call today explaining how this is going to be resolved. $50 may not be a lot to some people. But for me it was the difference between my checking account having or not having enough money in it to pay another one of my bills on time. I am now paying late fees on another bill that was due but because I didn’t have that $50 in my checking is now late. I am beyond frustrated. Part of me thinks they just hope people won’t notice the charges at all. It’s ridiculous that it is so difficult to cancel a membership. I payed an entire year on time even though I barely used it because of health issues, because that is what I agreed to. Well they agreed to stop charging me after my membership was cancelled. I kept my end of the deal. Why can’t they keep theirs?

Edit: I do want to say this was eventually resolved by the new owner. The can was kicked around because no one knew what the new owner wanted to do. Eventually I spoke to the new owner and she looked into it and after a few calls back and forth and to their bank and their financial department we figured it all out. She took time to listen and go back in my membership history (on a holiday weekend I believe) and see why everyone was confused. I would bump them to a 3.5 now for serious fitness people. I still think they are priced a little high considering they expect you to do all the cleaning and charge an additional “maintenance” fee monthly. I feel they are already priced kind of high and should have some program where members can earn getting that fee waived. Just a suggestion.

I was a member of AF for 10 years, and at this location for 5. New owners from out of state took over a year ago and things were fine at first. Prices increased at the beginning of 2024, yet we were never provided updates on future equipment upgrades or renovations.

I am historically not someone who complains often. In 5 years, I think I only spoke to the previous on-site manager, Will, once about a personal concern (and was pleased with his response).

A couple of months ago, I wrote a lengthy but respectful email outlining multiple items and sent it to management and the owners. I managed a 24 hour emergency facility for 5 years, and can empathize with the complications, complexities, and stress of a business thats open all 24/7/365. However, I never received a response, not even an acknowledgment of my email. So after a week, I decided to cancel my membership. Why would I want to give over $700 a year to a franchise that can't form a professional response to an email sent by a loyal member?

My recommendation to the owners is to ensure your on site managers receive adequate training, and that you respond to someone within a reasonable time frame. Unless you just generally don't care about the people lining your wallets. Which was the impression I walked away with.

This place is over priced, under managed, horrible customer skills, runs out of basic necessities to keep the equipment clean regularly, and they will cancel your membership if you bring up concerns or return a survey they requested. People are cancelling like crazy as they realize they are paying way too much for too little at a gym managed by millennials that can’t handle criticism. Get an Endeavor membership and black card at Planet and have tons of variety, tanning, massage, etc for less than this Anytime.

After being a member of Anytime for probably close to 15 years and this location in particular for less than a year, the young managers, who look better suited to stock shelves at a Game Stop, cancelled my membership. Why? Well, I voiced concerns about this gym having a habitual problem with keeping the basic items a gym needs for its members to wipe down the equipment, clean tanning bed, and the paper products for the bathrooms. We would frequently have empty equipment wipe containers and go 3 days or longer with an empty cleaning bottle for the tanning bed. This is an issue that most members have. The day after I returned a survey that was sent to my email, the manager was calling to let me know he cancelled my membership. That seems a bit unethical. The 2 young male managers are easily offended by criticism and ultra sensitive to being called out on poor management skills. The owners live in a different state and have multiple out of state Anytimes, so they have proven to be useless and have out right lied regarding providing a response. I have the receipts to prove it. My cancellation has resulted in a total of 4 cancellations in a week and at least 2 more will happen mid week as a result of this gym’s treatment towards me and handling member’s concerns. More will surely follow. The best part is that you can join Planet with the black card and Endeavor Fitness and still be cheaper than Anytime with tanning and many other amenities and lesser fees!!

Very nice.
Anytime Fitnessis handy (I live in Hickory Hill subdivision), always clean and orderly.
I normally use the treadmills.
Though my preference is the great outdoors, when walking conditions are hazardous Anytime Fitness provides an excellent option.
The facility is kept in top shape - obviously well managed.

I am a current member with an account that I froze for a few months because I was not using the gym as much as I wanted to. I belong to the Novi location.

Today I went to the Howell location to reactivate my membership and nobody gave me the time of day. I couldn't get into the gym and someone at the door flicked their hand at me waving goodbye. No verification if I was a member. If this is how they want to treat their members that is on them, but it's not a healthy place that I would bring my family too. I would give 0 stars for this service if I could.

This is a smaller gym, but it’s clean and I don’t have any issues trying to get equipment (I usually go in the early morning). I can see from other reviews that during peak hours it may feel a bit tight since the machines are not very spread apart. So far this gym works great for me!

This gym is a SCAM. I signed a year contract that was up in June of 2017. I called multiple times in the months leading up to June saying I didn't want to renew. It is now August and I'm still being charged. MARIA the gym manager claims she can never remember talking to me each month I call to dispute the charge and reiterate I want my membership cancelled. The owner Debbie has never made an attempt to get in touch with me. Do not sign up for a membership here, you will be ripped off.

Awesome gym staff. 24 hour access which is awesome. Private showers available for use along with a tanning bed. Supplements are overpriced but every gym does that. There is also free WiFi which is good if you stream. The equipment is maintained well but the stipple is worn alot on some bars.

I've attended various gyms for about 10 years now. This gym is the worst I've ever been to and its not even close. I started working out there and it wasnt terrible at first. I work an 8-5 job and go around 7. It started becoming a regular habit for the trainers to kick me off equipment in favor of their clients. I understand that personal training is where they get most of their money but I should have the same right to use the equipment as anyone else. After having several weeks of a frustrating workout experiences, I decided to cancel my membership. I stopped by the office to cancel and was told I'd have to pay a $50 fee but I'd be see my cancellation notice in the mail soon. Fine, I can deal. I receive a call about 5 days later saying that I in fact cant cancel (cant pay a fee or anything) unless I can prove I've moved or become permanently disabled. Not only was I told that my membership would be terminated when I requested but I also asked when I signed up if I would be able to cancel and both times was told there were no obstacles. I've tried many times to speak with a manager and have had no luck getting her to respond to me. Terrible place.
