I joined BE Golf membership to have a place to practice through the winter, and it's been the best decision I've made for my golf game. The facility is absolutely phenomenal, equipped with everything a golfer could dream of- all types of training equipment, hitting bays, simulators and a putting aria equipped with latest technology. GLA is awesome! I was a frustrated golfer of 5 years. I've had 3 other coaches, but I wish I had come here first! After taking the OnRamp with Chad, i found GLA's approach to instruction to be *refreshingly* so far off from what I've gotten from other coaches that just wreaked havoc on my golf game and my ability to enjoy the sport. Had my first lesson today with Nick Antonucci. I went in there as a complete amateur, no true idea what I was doing with the exception of a few tips here and there from a buddy, my only background being sports through high school (baseball, football, etc) and Nick had me hitting the ball with my eyes closed by the time I left! I have had nothing but great experiences with GLA. I was a novice golfer looking for evaluation and guidance on how to start improving my score. I worked with Soti Michalos over the winter and he has helped my swing tremendously. We spent a lot of time going over the parts of the golf swing, practicing and refining the motion over the winter months before putting it back together before golf season to achieve 'one motion'. He also helped me understand how to identify what has gone wrong on those swings that aren't perfect on the course. You can leave each lesson with key takeaways and a practice plan for what to work on between lessons. While I'm not new to golf, I started taking lessons with Nick to work out some issues with my golf game. During the first lesson I laid out the problems I was having and the things I'd like to improve on. Nick took the time every step of the way to assure me that there is nothing wrong with the way I'm playing golf and that there's no such thing as a perfect swing, so I shouldn't waste any energy stressing about how I'm swinging the club. He emphasizes that he is there to help me get the ball to do what I want it to do and go where I want it to go, and that he is NOT there to fundamentally change the way I play. Rather than making me learn relearn golf from the ground up, Nick's teaching focus on the relationship between the way the ball travels and my current swing and how that relationship can be manipulated by varying minor things with the swing I already use.

I think this teaching style is great for beginners or experienced golfers alike because it completely eliminates the idea that you as the golfer are doing anything wrong. This allows you to go out there and just have fun, rather than try and be the next Tiger Woods. I’ve been playing golf for 33 years without ever having lessons. At age 51 I am currently a 13.5 handicap. I could not see myself getting any better without taking lessons. First of all, let me acknowledge that I’m a Senior golfer. I finally have time to work on my golf game.
To list the things that aren’t textbook about my golf swing, would take longer than the hour I spent with Nick Antonucci today. I didn’t want to rebuild my golf swing. The season is too short and I’ve known too many guys who have suffered through an entire year trying to adjust to the changes.
Let me speak about Nick. Nick’s teaching style is very natural and conversational. I had a hundred questions, he was patient and encouraging. It’s exactly the kind of coaching that I respond well to. I have worked with a couple of golf pros in the past and it can be tedious. This wasn’t, the hour flew by.
So, this GLA is about swinging the golf club freely and moving the swing thoughts out of the equation. I am encouraged by the approach and the incremental improvement I felt today. This is a process and I’m not getting ahead of myself. So far so good, and I’m real comfortable with the fact that I found a coach and an approach that will drive results and improvement on my scorecard.

My son decided 2 years ago to switch from playing travel baseball to playing golf. Prior to that he had played very little. Last year about this time we signed up for lessons with Soti at the Golf Leadership Academy and have been working with him ever since. The progress has been amazing. This spring he achieved his goal of earning his varsity letter as a freshman in a very competitive program that finished in the top 10 at the MHSAA D1 State tourney. He has continued to get better this summer and had success in many junior golf tournaments including the Top 50 Junior Tour and the GAM.

He has not only improved his swing and ball striking but he has developed a deep understanding of how the variables in the swing affect the ball flight and how to make the necessary adjustments. He is also learning about course management and how to lower his scores.

Soti has been great with the instruction but I think even more importantly has been a great mentor to my son as he develops his game. I can't wait to see how his game continues to improve.

But during that lesson, his method/the GLA method clicked when I noticed drastic changes in my ability to adjust my swing and the club. I have a plan when I step up to the ball now other than swing away and it has been resulting in better shots. Still have a long way to go but I'm encouraged. I also recommend the Tuesday Tips!

Just finished my on-boarding w/ Ben. I can't express here how much of a game changer it has been. I watch many of the Tuesday tip of the week U-Tube videos. These videos have provided useful tips that have helped with my swing mechanics as well as the mental aspect to my game. As a result, I am hitting the ball further and have become a more consistent ball striker. Also, I seem to be enjoying myself more on the golf course.

GLA has been the best thing that has ever happened to my golf game. My 16 yr old daughter and I joined GLA this past summer and they have helped us improve so much in so many areas of the game. The GLA instructors have such a perfectly unique way of explaining things with specific drills and thought processes so that you understand clearly how to achieve your specific goal. My daughter always says to Ben our instructor that she wishes her math teacher could explain things the way he does because he does it in a way that she always understands it perfectly. And the GLA instructors process is different from others Ive seen as they don’t try to make all their students have the exact same swing. They work with your unique swing with the understanding that there is more than 1 way to have an effective golf swing. Their facility is amazing. I love the sports psychology aspects of GLA. Also, the coaches explain “why the ball don’t lie” which enables the student to understand what happened with the club path, face and ball and then what core adjustments have to happen. Very empowering.

I work with Chad and right off the bat I knew our philosophies for golf were different. It took me three lessons (cause I’m stubborn) to embrace his philosophy. After that we clicked great. My enjoyment for the game went up while my frustration level went down. He helps you find your natural swing that works for you.

Now I’m focused on the mental aspect of golf along with the things I can actually control. I highly recommend not only giving Golf Leadership Academy a try, but give it an honest chance to work. Don’t be impatient with yourself :)

If you're looking to improve your game, this is the place. Chad and Ben are both excellent coaches. They keep complex concepts simple and speak in terms that are easy to understand. They help you understand how the golf swing works and give you useful practice concepts to help you to better your game. They allow you to set your goals and find ways to help you get there and make things attainable for you (see attached picture). I would highly recommend these guys to anyone.

Great for kids; great for adults! Our sons have been taking lessons from Ben and Chad for 3 years. They make it so much fun, while also teaching tools to correct the golf swing based on what the ball is doing. I had been plagued by significant inconsistency in my golf swing for years and years. An occasional 30 minute lesson or the latest golf magazine tip did little to help me. I became aware of GLA when I occasionally picked up my grandson who was in the youth program there. I was immediately impressed by Chad and Ben's teaching approach. It stresses swing fundamentals , repeatability and it's not boring. It teaches you to understand why the ball does what it does and how to correct it.
My granddaughter is now also a student along with her brother and I can say enthusiastically that Chad and Ben's approach works for all ages.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Chad and Ben for several years now. They both have great energy and knowledge of the game. I have recently over the last month started working with Chad to cure a distance and accuracy problem with my driver. In three lessons I have gained close to 15 miles an hour on my clubhead speed and roughly 40 yards of distance on my drives. Great facility, and I would highly recommend them to beginners or established golfers alike.

I started working with Chad last winter and I can say it was the best decision I have made to start training with GLA. I am showing improvement and becoming more confident with my game. Becoming a member at the Golf Leadership Academy is easily one of the best decisions I have ever made for my golf game. I was just looking for a place to regularly practice indoors over the winter to keep my game from falling apart. Between the exceptional facility, incredible technology available and the friendly staff I have not only maintained my golf game throughout the winter, I have improved. I know my yardages much more closely, my dispersion has decreased and I start putts more on line.

Each member of the GLA staff has gone out of their way to share their golf expertise with me when they had a free moment. My handicap index when I started going to GLA was a 1.7. I recently got all the way down to a +.9. I owe a large portion of that success to the help that the GLA staff has provided.
