Absolutely love BHC. I live close by, and my son goes to Goddard next door so the location is ideal. However, the game changer has been having childcare included 7 days a week, plus all the children’s activities and classes. Personally, I enjoy the group classes, personal trainer Jay is fantastic, and the equipment and facility are top notch. I imagine I’ll be a member for a long time!

Members for over a year, but the vile conditions in the men's locker room were enough to turn our entire family off after a while. We spoke to people about it a few times but they had pretty dismissive attitudes. For the last 6 months we came there, the soap dispensers and body was all had a rotten smell to them they would not acknowledge. The men's locker room was filled with gnats and debris all over the floor from being unkept. The lockers were all filthy and never cleaned. Some of the members are quite vile with the stuff they do in there - shave, trim nails, die their hair - which is compounded by the lack of reasonable cleaning.

At best, they told us good help is hard to find. Then made us pay three more months of hiked membership dues before we could leave after our one-year forced contract was up.

First, I want to state that my children and I have had a wonderful experience at BHC during the previous three years . However, today was not the case. When discussing registration with Dawn, she spoke to me in a very demeaning tone. After our dialogue/exchange. I felt uneasy about leaving my children in her care, even if they had a multitude of openings. As an education /administrator myself, I always say that you can catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Please learn to treat everyone with dignity and respect and have a great year .

More than 15 years as a member. Have health issues that resulted in having to cancel, they demanded two months membership fees to get released from an auto renewal membership and threatened a lawsuit if I left a review about my experience. This club automatically renews your contract without any discussion and harasses you when you try to leave. They will charge your credit card without authorization. Beware. The owner and the manager are horrible to deal with. Look at all the bad reviews on yelp in Google.

I’ve been coming to this gym my entire life, and it’s hands down a 5-star facility. The gym floor is always spotless, spacious, and fully equipped with everything you need. They just added a beautiful sauna to go with the already amazing steam room, and both are perfect for recovery after a tough workout. The pool is huge and well-kept, and the workout classes included with your membership are actually worth taking—tons of variety, great instructors, and solid energy. There’s also a really nice basketball court. On top of all that, the staff is always friendly, helpful, and creates a welcoming environment. You can tell they care about the place and the people who come here. Wouldn’t train anywhere else.

The cleanliness of the locker rooms is really concerning. Dirt and grime everywhere, signs of stuff not being cleaned for days/weeks on end. The men's locker room is filled with mold and gnats. The shower gel/hand soap used throughout the facility is "spoiled" and has a fetid smell to it, and they refuse to change it out. The same bins they throw the filthy soiled towels in are used to transport the new clean ones back to the locker rooms... Overall the facility has a lot to offer, but the staff are not keeping it up properly. On top of this they recently pushed through a rate increase (with zero effective notice) and are very difficult about cancelling your membership.

Recently re-joined for my son and I. Family atmosphere. Great local gym with a kids zone program that my son loves, while I work in exercise to the busy schedule. Everyone has been very nice and welcoming.

Love the Gym. Can get busy but if you know when peak hours are it's pretty easy to get to all the equipment you need. The smoothies at the Cafe are great. Staff is friendly. My one and only complaint is I wish they opened 5am on the weekends like they do during the week, but I'll still give 5 stars.

Update on the Review: I'm no longer a member, but I was offered to try two months at the BHC. The manager was very nice when I told her personally about my concern about the pricing. The BHC was very clean, and the small cafe sold delicious smoothies.
I felt pressure to sign up to become a member at BHC, when I called on the phone to inquire about a membership, I told the staff person that I was a senior, that wasn't good enough, she ask me my age, and other personal information. I don't know the staff person's name but I'm sure the club has previous complaints on the female who does new membership, she was very pushy for me to sign up, and I didn't even know what they offer! The problem I'm having is where are the free classes; I don't see anything that's free except the water for the members! It's not worth going to this club, if you have to pay for everything, SMDH!

Some of the class instructors are decent, which is why I'm ok giving a 1 star. Facilities are dirty, very dirty. Club staff (excluding some instructors) are rude, pushy and have a I'm doing you a favor for just speaking to you attitude.
Getting tennis court time is a challenge. So many better options out there these days for less cost.

Great Gym! BHC is rarely packed, clean and has new equipment. They offer everything you need to take a shower after your workout, swim, tennis match, etc. All u need is a change of clothes. The only thing that stops it from getting 5 stars is that it closes at 9pm on the weekdays.

Contacted manager that I moved still charged my credit card for months. Asked them for a refund since have not been there in months they will not refund my money. Be aware of what you are signing. Breaking a contact is impossible. No conscious for other peoples money. Once you sign with this club expect to be with them the rest of your life, they will let you go but with a big fee. Look for other clubs with better client service and contract.

Great place to go, they have a nice summer camp program and could play area. The amenities are nice. The machines are adequately placed and it's never too crowded.
There's also enough bench presses and free weights for multiple workouts.
It is family friendly and the hours of availability allows for a flexible schedule.

I love this club. I joined after I had my third child to get back into shape. I started taking him when he was an infant and he is now almost 4. He loves to go - which makes working out so much easier for me - less guilt because I know he is having fun. The ladies who work in the child care are so wonderful. The club has everything I need - classes, a pool, clean showers, towels. It's a home away from home. I loved going there so much that I started to teach fitness classes at the BHC. I've made a lot of friends at this gym and I will be a member for many years to come.

My husband I joined BHC in June 2021. The tour was very short so I didn’t get to see the equipment. Later when I started using the gym I realized the equipment is super old and dated. Treadmills would shake and make loud noise if you run on them, stair masters were bought 30 years ago and the overall machines were rusted and old. I raised my concerns to the manager and told her that I’m not happy with this gym, nothing was done about it.
When I told the manager we want to withdraw our membership, the gym charged us almost $600 to quit the gym.
I would not recommend anyone joining this gym. It’s a scam!

Fantastic club. The staff and the members all care about their facility, and take a good care of it. Locker rooms have towel service, and all of the amenities. Steam room, jacuzzi, pool, tennis courts, a full fitness area, and a smoothie bar.

Greedy club. I have tried to keep them from charging my card because me and my family do not feel comfortable with their gym right now and they continue to charge my card after SEVERAL attempts to speak and work something out with somebody. I understand this is Beverly Hills but ethics and policy count for something. Very dishonest and costumer service is atrocious. I would stay away from this club if you value your dollar and I would rather give my money to the homeless instead of these guys straight robbing me every month.

I joined BHC a few years ago and overall my experience has been positive. The facilities are always clean and they offer a lot of different classes and fitness equipment. BHC is more expensive than many other chain gyms in the area, but the updated facilities and top notch instructors make it worth it. I mainly come here for their group classes, I think Liz S. is their best instructor and her spinning and boot camp classes are always killer.

Like many other comments on here, after parting ways after 4 years of being a member; I was treated incredibly poorly.
Owner Steven Satovsky essentially tried to extort me for $800 2 years after leaving my "month to month contract" at BHC.

Not only did he try to wrongfully claim these "unpaid membership fees" but he also insulted me personally MULTIPLE times in our email correspondence. I have never been spoken to that way from any establishment...

I know have to get an attorney involved to avoid collections. Its such a shame it had to come to this. Almost any reasonable establishment would have accepted fault where it was obvious and moved past this.

Steve Satovsky has been unprofessional and is obviously very money hungry. I would highly reccomend giving your business elswhere...

Made the switch from LA Fitness to BHC. It is a complete upgrade for my whole family. In terms of the workout area, yes it is smaller than LA Fitness and they do not have as many machines. That being said if you know how to lift you will find that they actually have more accessories for you to use and you can actually do just as much or more. BHC also offers more classes and new types of classes including the Surfset class. The club is much cleaner than LA Fitness. The kids club hours are great and 7 days per week, and BHC does a great job with the kids club amenities. Not to mention the club environment is very chill, they have free coffee, cucumber water, and fruit water all day. There is also a café and free bagels every morning for the members.

Great gym, but very pricy and not a place for a hardcore gym fanatic.

I currently have been a member here for 3 years. I have noticed that more often than not it is a place for highschool kids/kids fresh out of high school, and senior citizens. I personally feel out of place here most of the time because it seems more like an open space with many kids and senior around as opposed to people like me who do intense lifting and like a slightly more competitive enviornment.

That being said, it’s still a great gym for what it is (despite the overly high price), but I personally don’t think its the right gym for you if you’re anything like me. Personally I think the Birmingham Powerhouse is much better for people like me and you can save $70+ for a membership there. On top of being cheaper, there are also more benches, more machines, and more studio rooms for vigorous weightlifting/cardio at the BP as opposed to BHC.

Great gym, just make sure its what you’re looking for.

Just had the tennis court I reserved 3 days ago cancelled because of " a mix up"! This happened to my friend and me 2 weeks ago too. The courts are taken up with classes and lessens. If you want to play before 9am or after 9pm you're fine. And forget about trying to get a court on the weekends! This is SO frustrating and NOT worth the high membership monthly fee!!!

The facility as a whole is relatively nice, however it is starting to feel its age. Also, the work out area is literally a sea of machines. Even though there is a basketball gym and aerobics studio, there is never any free open space to work out. The gym always has basketball games or classes going on, as does the aerobics studio. So, if you want to do anything besides bicep curls or leg extensions on a machine, there is no free space to do anything.

The facility itself is not the reason for my bad review. It is the management, more specifically the owner, Steve. Once my wife and I were members here for about two months and realized it was not for us, I tried speaking to the owner since he was the one that ultimately had to make the decision to let us out of our contract. First, getting this guy on the phone is like trying to get an audience with the Pope. Then once we spoke, he wanted to charge me $1,200 to let me out of my contract. While technically he had the right to do so due to the contract we signed, as I told him, he was essentially holding me hostage and forcing me to work out in a club that I truly disliked for another whole year. At the end of this conversation, he then said "Well I have your contract on my desk, let me think about this and get back to you." Fast forward a month, I never heard back from the guy. I left over 7 voice mails, talked to his finance manager, even tried coming in a few times to talk to him in person, but every time he was "on a conference call" or just too busy to see me. Eventually, we came to the conclusion that Steve was never going to let us resolve this issue. We ended up getting out of our contract with the help of a friendly staff member. I went from just wanting to leave the club, to now making sure that everyone I know does not join. Great customer service Steve!

Love this place. Great classes and machines. The facility is top-notch and CLEAN, you feel like you're in a county club! The staff is helpful and always willing to assist you. For example, I wanted to start a new workout plan and one of the trainers helped me create a diet and workout plan. I have stuck with the plan and have lost 20 lbs since April. I would recommend this club to anyone, yes it's a bit more expensive but when it comes to fitness clubs you get what you pay for.

we were member for several years, and I can tell you with certainty this club is outrageously overpriced for what you get. The bathrooms are dirty and outdated, the trainers will never help you with machines, the adm staff is nasty, and when you tell them you wish to cancel, I was told they needed 3 months in advance. There are numerous brand new machines at the new club on Slfd Rd, Planet Fitness, 10 dollars a month. Unbelievably good prices. Adios BHRC!!!!!!!
