Excellent sports facility. The kids live it. It has all kind of professional equipment to help them learn gymnastics and acrobatics.

I had a 4 year old in ninja and a 2 year old in tumbling. It was an ok experience, I wouldn’t go back.
I often heard the ninja class while on the floor with my 2 year old and the ninja instructor (female with her arm in a sling) spoke harshly to the kids, often seeming very annoyed and saying things like “you should already know how to do this” and wouldn’t show them any direction as the little four year olds just looked so confused. This was my sons first ninja class and he doesn’t want to do another because of this.
Something that really bothered me is that they “required” a $20-$25 shirt for the ninja class (which we had no problem with! My son loved it!). But there were 2-3 kids wearing them at most each class so it felt like a waste of money and not actually required
They kept posting that a/c was coming this summer but it didn’t while we were there and even the coaches would go stand in front of fans in the middle of class :(
I also wish there was a better viewing situation for parents/grandparents.
Coach Bailey was great, my daughter loved her, but a lot of times it seemed like there wasn’t communication about who could be in which area of the gym (the older girls often being where the toddler tumbling class was trying to go and then them spending part of class figuring it out. We always moved around and didn’t know where to go and had to watch the older kids around the little toddlers)

While the owners/instructors have signs up that it's better to let your young gymnast go through class without thr distraction of parents, etc., we've discovered that simply using common sense and making sure if they seem like they first starting to want people to clear out you do so honestly seems to be good enough. Thankfully so because the space is huge and interesting and the instructors awesome to watch.

We have been a Champion rec family for over 8 years. Laurie, the owner, has a big heart and truly loves gymnastics. Your child will love Champion - they have programs for every level and interest. Most recently, my son has taken the ninja classes and they are super fun and engaging.

This place is a dream. I bring my 1 year old here for toddler gymnastics but truthfully, I have just as much fun as he does. We have met so many fun kids and the curriculum is loose enough that my child can enjoy, explore and learn. Love it here!

Our first visit, here, was yesterday. I couldn't be more happy with it! I was SO happy that my little guy didn't have to wear a mask,to participate. So was he! The facility smelled and looked super clean.......Every single person we talked to,was extremely pleasant and helpful. My son had a blast,as well. He can't wait to go back!

I reached out to CG in anticipation of grandson's visiting from another country for a month this summer. Despite the visiting being between sessions, they made accommodations where possible to include the boys in trail classes. The equipment is amazing and the coaches were working individually with the 5 kids in the class (2 coaches) ages 3-5. I liked the different ways they were teaching from this very young age the things that will allow the children to compete if that is where they are headed in a fun non-stress environment. Now that my grandson's are enrolled, I hope they can attend open gym whenever they are staying with grandma.

The gym is not complying with current guidelines (nor their own policies, as posted on their website) for mask adherence. Most gymnasts are too young to be vaccinated, and yet staff are not wearing masks and are not enforcing mask wearing on young (elementary school age) gymnasts. I may return to the gym once my child is eligible/has been vaccinated, but at the moment the recklessness and lack of communication to families makes this an unsafe space.
***EDIT***: When I spoke to the owner several days after posting this review she was pleasant and graciously refunded my fees paid for a future session. While I wish there was a different approach to mask wearing at the gym, I respect the owner’s willingness to refund my costs due to my discomfort with their practices.

Thank you Champion Gymnastics for providing a safe and fun gym home for my kids. My son LOVES your Ninja Program! My daughter started Gymnastics as a terrified little girl who was afraid of most skills. She has since gained so much confidence that she now does cartwheels in the house and tries to go upside down any chance she gets!
Champion Gymnastics of Ann Arbor is a wonderful gym and the staff is very positive and uplifting. I cannot imagine sending them anywhere else!

The CG space is beautiful! When I first walked in I was blown away with how much equipment was there and how clean it was. I am not a gymnastics expert, but they seemed to have everything anyone would need to be a successful gymnast. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I have coached tennis in the area for many years and rarely come across an athlete that has not done some programming at CG. They do a great job of teaching athletic skills while keeping it fun for the kids. Highly recommended!

My 7 year old son has been doing the Ninja program here at Champion Gymnastics for the past year and he absolutely loves it! If I could give this gym 10 stars I would. This is the only extracurricular activity we did throughout the pandemic and I could not have been happier with how professional and caring the coaches and staff have been. This has been an extremely challenging year for everyone, especially young kids, and I am so grateful to the team at Champion Gymnastics for providing our kids with a safe place to practice.
The two Ninja coaches, Skye and Nate are absolutely amazing and my son really looks up to them. They are great with the kids, so enthusiastic and motivating, and are always smiling and super friendly. My son has done boys gymnastics in the past but he really loves the Ninja program because it is fast paced and mixes in some fun playground activities as well as great gymnastics moves. After a year in this program, I have noticed a BIG increase in his strength, focus, and confidence.

I did competitive gymnastics through Champion for about 2 years. I absolutely loved my coaches , I always felt so welcomed and like they were always excited to have me back. The coaches were really easy to get along with, including the other staff that I may have not worked a lot with. I would always walk in and be happy to be at Champion Gymnastics. Launie is such a great owner and knows for sure the right ways to run a good gymnastics business. She is always full of joy and never fails to make sure you are doing good and enjoying your experience throughout the gym, as a kid. I learned a great deal of not only skills from coaches, but also life lessons. I was laughing everyday I was at practice(and also working hard of course) . I could not have asked for a better gym to finish up my gymnastics career at, and I believe I could not have been the successful gymnast I was in my last years. I would always enjoy working towards competitions and having the joy behind having such a great team to go along with. I highly recommend this gym to anyone and everyone looking for a gym that makes you feel like you are part of a family. During the beginning of corona , it was my senior year of high school , and I was devastated that I could not finish out my gymnastics career, that I started when I was just 7 years old. The staff was able to send me a closing out gift and we had a goodbye zoom at the time and it made me feel so loved and appreciated for the hard work I had put into many years of gymnastics. I will forever be able to call this place a second home and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a genuinely great place to start their kid out in the sport of gymnastics :).

We just finished our first 8 week session with our toddler, and have already enrolled her for the next session because she has loved it so much! The coaches did a wonderful job of teaching to the children’s current level(s) while remaining realistic about the fact that sometimes toddlers just want to do their own thing :). They allowed our daughter to follow her own interests in class when appropriate and never made us feel like we had to force her to participate in a way that she wasn’t yet interested in/ready for. This made classes fun and stress-free for all of us... And despite often wanting to move to the beat of her own drum, she has learned so much here! She tip toes around the house and throws her arms up saying, “Tah dah!,” she tries to get up and walk on anything that even slightly resembles a balance beam whenever she has the chance, she does her “butterfly” leg stretches almost daily, and she chats about gymnastics and the coaches at Champion all the time!

the classes have been good however they are now forcing kids/parents to buy their shirts in order to attend their class. so now just for my kids to attend they are charging $25 per shirt to classes that we are already paying for.

The worst experience in my child's life! The coaching staff (at the time) was inexperienced, mean and just horrible to the girls. I sincerely hope they've improved.

We recently tried two free trial classes for my 6 year old and 11 year old. My 11 year old struggles with gross motor skills and coach Jullianne was so encouraging, supportive and friendly to her. It was a great experience!

Champion gymnastics is not only a fun gym for kids to experience new things but a safe place for kids to take risks. After watching my nieces (4 and 6) in class it is evident that the coaches respect the children and value their abilities. Classes are fun, structured, and engaging to gymnasts at a variety of levels! Now if I could only convince my son to give it a try!

If your kids are special, don't take the summer session classes, because nobody cares about your kids. My son took the Ninjia classes (4-5 years old) in May and he liked it so much that we enrolled him in the summer session. Then the problem came. After he took the first class, he refuses to take it anymore for there is a bigger kid( looks like 7-8 years old) in the class and he is afraid of him. Even though my husband companies with my son, whenever he saw the bigger kid there, my son would hide far away and don't want to close to the class team. Before the summer session, there ware two tutors in a class, but in the summer session there is only one tutor per class. The only one tutor can't care about any single student's feeling that I can understand. What makes me feel unhappy is that the manager said it's count for taking classes that my husband teaches my son in the gym without any tutor's instruction. They don't care about what you learned!!! I am so disappointed that we take the summer classes.

We love Champion! Both of our girls have learned so much and progressed nicely with the great coach instruction. We are very happy with the variety of equipment and open gym is a fun way for the kids to pass a wintertime evening! We hosted our youngest daughters birthday party here and all of the kids (varying ages) really had a fun time, and the party package was well worth it. Clean bathrooms, wi-fi for parents, and a variety of gymnastics leotards for purchase are all wonderful as well.

I have been going to Champion Gym for two years with my now three year old grandson and it has saved my life when that VERY active little guy needs to burn off steam. The staff is so helpful and welcoming and really make me feel comfortable when I am there. I now have a second little guy and look forward to bringing him there for a very long time.

What on earth can be done about the smell? Every parent chatting has mentioned the smell. My husband can't even enter the building. Nice facility, good coaches but the smell is absolutely vile. Gyms don't exactly smell like flowers but this is not a normal smell for a gymnasium.

They have something for everyone! Young or old. Advanced or beginner. Boy or girl! You'll find a class that fits your needs.
And in response to not having an competitive trophies on the walls... is that what really matters? What matters in my eyes is that the kids are having fun and learning the sport of gymnastics, as well as other important life lessons. They did have a lot of trophies on the walls at the old gym but decided that displaying trophies wasn't a priority. Keeping a clean gym free of dusty old cobweb catchers was much more important. Just my personal opinion.

Need to add a counter point to the other review on here from a parent who has actually enrolled his daughter in the gym. She started on the recreational program and has progress through to the team program now. Terrific place. For young children, more important then trophies on the wall are a feeling of community, building their confidence in themselves, having great role models, and having great coaches. All of these can be found here. The new facility is really nice and vibrant atmosphere. She has never fought us about going to practice which is all we can really ask for. I wasn't familiar with gymnastics prior to this but didn't really know how much of a team atmosphere it is. My daughter has many of her best friends in the gym and they are all very supportive.
(PS they do have an active boys program that we are thinking of putting my son in.)

This Gym does not have any Boys Team Instructors and very few Competitive Trophies
This is not a competitive gym in the world of Gymnastics!
