I like the gym the employers are very nice and kind. I have respect for everyone. Specially, the manager is very kind. I told him to cancel my membership. It never feels crowded when I go here and I like the cleanliness the atmosphere feels nice, like everyone is on chill and focused on doing their own thing. Staff and customers seem to be polite and respectful. If you cross paths, people say hi or good morning. Today, I watched an older man ask another customer for help with the treadmill. Work brought me to Dearborn for a week. I spent three days lifting here and would continue to go back.

Yes, people are dropping deadlifts and light barbells, leaving bars loaded, and even just dropping plates before putting them on bars. Yes, the equipment isn’t the cleanest. Normally any of this gets to me.

Annoyance changed to you-do-you for me though and I had great seasons. There are plenty of dumbbells and benches. People cycle through the racks, never had to wait. The turf area is long enough and not overcrowded to get stuff done on also.

Go there to lift, lift heavy, do your own dishes, don’t get caught up in what others are doing.

Crunch fitness in Dearborn, Michigan is the absolute worst for many reasons. First off the gym is overly crowded with entitled people holding equipment with a water bottle then get upset after you move it and it's been sitting there for 20 minutes.
Secondly, you can conveniently sign up online but for some reason you can't cancel online or via phone or via text after they text you 1000 times about a bill that you're trying to cancel. Next in order to cancel you have to cancel in person, but there's not a manager there on staff to cancel. Oh yeah did I mention you have to cancel with a manager, and the manager works 9 to 5 type of hours, don't work on Sunday and leave early on Saturday's, when they're supposed to work to 5pm,m.
The fact that you even need a manager cancel a membership is insane. So if you're like me you don't find out about this until you try to cancel. So if you work seven days 12 hours and you try to squeeze in on a Saturday to cancel and there's no manager there and you come back 2/3months later on a Sunday and there's no manager again then you finally come back on a business day and the manager tells you you have three months a late fee and three months of membership fee and you have to pay all that before you cancel. Crunch fitness is a joke!

I've been to the westland, Ypsilanti, Taylor and Dearborn location. The Dearborn location is BY FAR the worse location. First of all im pretty certain that the members there have never heard the word "etiquette " before. The weights are alllll over the place, nobody and I mean NOBODY re racks their weights when they are done and the ones that are racked are all in the wrong spot. I had to go across the gym to the treadmill area to find the missing 85lb dumbell. They only have one wipe down station so most of the equipment doesn't get wiped down (not that the members there would even bother to wipe things down if there were more due to lack of etiquette). I was pretty tempted to blatantly ask the workers there if they've ever cleaned the place before because of how horrendously filthy it is on the gym floor and locker rooms. I found it comical that more than half the tvs are missing and the ones that are still intact weren't even turned on. Moral of the story is only come to this location if you absolutely have no other choice. Other than that, avoid this location at all costs.

This is one of the dirtiest gyms I have ever been to. All the equipment has mounds of dust. More then 1 cup holder had gum inside them. I really like using the cardio machines but there are alot that did not work. Few wipes are put out and the ones that are cant pulled from the holder. I am assuming that is why people do not wipe down their machines or stretch pads after use.

Less than half of the TV 's work or are missing.

The staff was friendly enough but did not know how to use a equipment when I asked. I had to tell him, nevermind I will figure it out.

Terrible location. The manager, Macomb is uneducated and unwilling to help resolve the issue with transferring my membership from a different state.

Macomb got into an argument about with another crunch gym from a different state.
Macomb has superiority complex and is incredibly rude.

Highly recommend you avoid this gym due to the way Macomb treats the members.

They also had a 5 year old running around the gym and behind the counter. Seems like she is a sister of one of the employees. That is very DANGEROUS, especially since she was running around and not being handled.

This gym needs to be under investigation. Highly recommend you avoid this gym.

Hardly anyone practices good gym etiquette. People rarely re-rack weights, leave plates, dumbbells, and trash on the floor, and cable machines are missing carabiners. Restroom/locker room is just as unkempt as the weight room. Lockers are filled with trash, old clothes, and there are many broken doors. There are numerous lockers that people leave locks on for multiple days, if not weeks. I have addressed it to staff, to no avail. I was taken back to see how disgusting the gym was. Build up everywhere. So happy this is not my home club. I came to attend a “cycle/ride” class. The class- ok. The instructor was great, music blah. I think that one’s preference in an instructor is relative. That was not the problem - the problem was the set up! First off- they had all the bikes bunched up and piled on each other behind the ropes that are usually used to block part of the gym when class / training is being done on the floor in the functional training area. Weights and workout equipment everywhere! We the attendees had to help the instructor set the room up- apparently that is the norm!!! Crazy!!!!! It was just gross and then- there were no sanitary wipes anywhere in the training room! Not sure who the manager is- but that club needs a deep cleaning and better management organization! Gross! Never again!

This gym is dirty! Literally. The women’s bathroom trash cans overflowing with tissue and USED sanitary products.

I brought a guest with me and they stated that the men’s bathroom was just as disgusting with used men’s underwear and so many other products they could name all over the floor.

Also the equipment was terrible. The row machines barely worked.

Mind you this isn’t my home gym and I will never be back. I feel bad for those whose home gym that it is! Definitely left a bad taste in my mouth being a crunch member!

Crunch Fitness has been a nightmare. I canceled my membership a year ago, yet they kept charging me for 6+ months, ignored multiple cancellation requests, and eventually sent an “unpaid balance” to collections without ever notifying me—damaging my credit.

Management has changed several times since I signed up, making it impossible to get clear answers. I tried canceling in person, as required, and followed up repeatedly by phone—only to be met with excuses, dismissiveness, and gaslighting from staff, including managers Andy and Marwan. At this point any time I call even during business hours I’m told the manager is “unavailable”, and when requested a call back, never receive one.

After months of back-and-forth, I finally received written confirmation that my membership was canceled. But even then, the charges continued. I had to block payments, and they sent my account to collections anyway. To this day, I haven’t received confirmation that it’s been resolved—or a refund for the months they wrongly charged me.

The gym itself is filthy, poorly managed, and nothing like what they advertise. Constant staff turnover and lack of accountability make it even worse.

Crunch Fitness owes me money and has damaged my credit. Save yourself the stress—don’t sign up.

to be honest one of the worst gyms. first of all they fool you by saying that the monthly membership is low and never mention that there is a “yearly fee” of 60$. Reasons why this location isn’t the best option:
1. My friends bag was stolen, he was told to make a police report and never received anything further in regards to this. (This was 2 years ago)
2. If you go in the evening, it is CROWDED. Like basically hitting captaincy.
3. The members that go to this gym are VERY INCONSIDERATE. I went last night January 25th for the first time in 2 years and not only were people walking in front of me during my work out BUT people were just stealing equipment. AND I went into the part of the gym that has a door, there were other people in this room and these members were walking out and just shut off the lights??? Like okay???
4. It could be cleaner , but the staff is worried about their own workout to do their job.
5. YOU CAN NEVER CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIP. They send you to collections when you have tried to cancel.

I normally go to crunch in Southgate or Taylor but I was in the area so I stopped by for a workout. I’ll list the pros and cons of this location vs other crunches I’ve been to (and any other gym I’ve been to like LA Fitness and PF)
Pros:
great variety of equipment
Not too busy
Cons:
bathroom smells worse than a porta-potty. I’ve literally never in my life smelled a bathroom this bad.
Dumbell section is a complete unorganized mess
Not enough sanitary wipes on the floor. There’s only 2 that I’ve found.
In Conclusion: if you care a lot about an organized and sanitary gym, don’t go here.

Since enough reviews made me apprehensive about joining this location, I decided to go there to see the place in person (Dearborn, MI ~ Sunday 9/15/2024 around 4pm) The staff I interacted with were fun & welcoming. The building and all amenities were beyond reasonably clean.

Due to my current obligations and schedule, I expressed that I could not start going until 10/05. I was a member for a year; and the facilty is okay at best. The problem they have is they cheat people out of their direct deposit payments. They charged my account an extra 60 after one year I canelled the contract so it would not renew. They agreed. I disputed 60 dollars with my bank and after the investigation with documentation my bank reverse the charge. the renewal date was Feburary 2024. I just recieved a collection bill today on July 17 in the amount of 129.96. Its what promteted me to write a negative review Crunch Fitness of the fraud they have perpatrated on me. My recommendation is don't give them your financial information. Now I have a collection charge on my Credit report which needless to say I will fight it, but what an inconvience this is. Fraud to say the least has happened here.

Disappointing Experience – Beware of Hidden Costs

I was initially excited to join this gym with the promise of a $9 per month membership. However, my enthusiasm quickly turned into frustration when I was told just days later that there was a pricing mistake, and the actual cost was $29 per month. To add to the frustration, a few weeks down the line, I discovered I had unwittingly signed up for a whole year without being informed. When I tried talking to the top manager about these issues, I expected some understanding or at least a bit of professionalism. Instead, I got neither.

Fees and Tricks - the prices listed online do not include the “processing fee” which you’re charged monthly regardless of how you pay for no clear reason. At signup I was told there was an annual fee 45 days after I signed up. I attempted to cancel my membership on day 15 online, but you need to be in the facility physically to cancel your membership. I was traveling and was not able to do so. When I returned to the gym on day 42 I was told that I need to cancel my membership 10 days before the next billing cycle to avoid being charged. So they have a hidden monthly processing fee, they don’t allow you to cancel online, there’s a 10 day window before your cancellation takes affect. And there is no logical reason for it. It’s just to get a few extra dollars out of customers. I’m not here for a bunch of games up charges and junk fees.

Literally the worst gym (this specific location) I have ever been to. The staff is beyond rude, extremely poor customer service and if I didn't occasionally see them cleaning, I would not believe any of them ever did. If I was you I would drive right past this gym and reach my fitness goals elsewhere. The only good thing about having a membership here is that it encouraged me to seek a new membership at LA fitness in Allen Park, a 5 min drive that is just a little bit past here that's totally worth it.

Been my go-to for years. I like the energy. Staff is cool. It's easy to get in the zone and not a huge overwhelming atmosphere. The only downside is the lack of respect from all of the members. They don't clean their machines post sets. They leave napkins and empty water bottles laying around, never put their weights back, and break machines. It's pretty lazy and not good gymanship.

This isn’t even my home gym and I’m here the most. Love the atmosphere, customer service is amazing, I’m normally here as soon as they open and I ALWAYS see the lady janitor cleaning! The opener on Mondays, Sarah, Muj, and more that I can’t recall their names at the moment make it so comfortable. They’re always around if you need help and they don’t make it feel like you’re bugging them. Great safe space.

If I could give this gym a zero, I would; a one star rating is just too high. To begin with, the gym is really dirty and unclean. They just turn their heads and act indifferently when you seek for assistance. Additionally, each month rather than charging you the agreed-upon amount. Every month they begin charging you a new fee, and you go to find out why this is happening. All they say is, "I'm not sure."
Go to powerhouse it’s 5 mins away and better

Just picked up my children right now from crunch dearborn someone broke in into the locker rooms and broke so many lockers and stole wallets and all what we heard is they gonna check the camera instead of calling the police and check the cameras right away , how something like this happened in your gym and you just say we’ll check the cameras, you should have taken action right away, be carful ppl do not leave your wallets, phones or your personal stuff in their lockers and that was not the first time, only 2 teen agers without security to protect your personal stuff

Avoid this gym at all cost. As cheap as the membership fee is, it is still a total ripoff for this dump. The facility is unsanitary, the members on the whole exercise zero basic gym etiquette, and the atmosphere is toxic and unwelcoming. If you like a gym where you need navigate your way through the literally hundreds of mismatched weights strewn across the floor, where you can expect to be badgered by creepy hooligans, and where canceling your membership feels like you're the protagonist in a Kafka novel, this is the place for you.

The gentleman who singed me up, put me on a year contract, after I had told him multiple times I wanted month to month only. The man straight lied to my face when I pointed out that it seemed like he had singed me up for a year in the contract. He told me he had fixed it, and had really done nothing about it. I only found out when trying to cancel on the eleventh month.

Wanted to find a new gym home went and used a day past. Storey was helpful in some ways. The only problem I have with this gym is the cleanliness I went at 7 in the morning and the lockers rooms smelled like complete cigarette smoke. The treadmill has old gunk in the cup holders and at the bottom of the treadmill. Bits of trash on the floor. Equipment everywhere it’s like there was not organization in the gym. I understand things can get messy during peak hours but 7 in the morning when barley people are there is the time to clean and tidy up the place. At Planet fitness their employees are constantly cleaning and organizing to make your workout smoother. I wish my experience was better because I was really looking forward to joining this gym. Hopefully this gym can take my advice and make things better for the next person looking for a gym home

This location is not clean. I know staff cannot control what people do with paper products and water bottles but for no reason should they just be laying on the floor and elsewhere. I am speaking on the men's locker room. The walls, base, floors and lockers appear to have ever been cleaned. Entire locker room needs a hose down.

I tried to cancel my membership in may, a manager wasn’t there ( why a manger is the only person who can cancel one is apart of there tactic to prolong charging you) and every time I went to ask for one he wasn’t there. They froze my account for that reason and today they charged me the annual fee. I went to get it refunded and they denied it basically implying that I’m a lier that the manager is “ always there” and that I needed to provide documentation that I tried previously and he wasn’t there (which is why the staff froze my account ). They asked me who froze it and I pointed to the guy that I’m pretty sure did and he acted suprised. It’s not the customers job to document interactions it’s the staffs!

First off, want to thank Muj for signing me and my wife up! He’s a great worker there and really set the tone for us to sign up. He always is walking around, cleaning, making sure equipment is working! He especially is good at keeping it a nice environment for everyone to accomplish their exercise goals.

In terms of the facility, it’s very spacious and has everything you need. Like any gym, there are busy hours (3-7pm), and busier times like summer. Regardless, I find crunch and it’s staff to both be great!

Great, organized and clean gym! I have been coming here for almost a year. Muj signed us up and was an amazing help - he explained everything and made the sign up process really simple. He was respectful, kind, and he works very hard to keep the gym up and running. All the other crunch staff are wonderful as well. Thank you guys!

I had a personal trainer idk what happened but no longer there I was not notified by the gym that he was not there anymore but they charged me for the servicesim not getting.. I was told I was going to get a refund and it's been 1 month or so and nothing has been refunded to my account now I don't have transportation to go up there and fix this problem the biggest mistake I have made should have stayed at planet fitness

Have been coming here for quite a bit. The gym has the equipment that I need for a reasonable monthly fee. However, there are a lot of people (seem like hs kids) horse playing in the gym at all times. Managers (if they are even on site) and workers seem to not pay any attention to it or sometimes even take part which could be a liability for the gym (coming from someone who has experience in gym liability litigation). I went to go tell a manager today and there won’t even be one on site until tomorrow, which seems like another issue. Rules here should probably be reviewed and enforced.
