I've been a member to crunch fitness since 2022. And I am sad to see the way it's become. The bathrooms are disgusting 😷 Most stalls have no toilet paper. Floors are covered in dust, trash, toilet paper, sinks and showers are not cleaned properly. When you take a fitness class your hands are covered in dust anytime you get on the ground. I see workers just sitting at the front desk on their phones. I'm paying $31 a month for what? There was a time I could go in and not be fearful of showering.

It's almost impossible to cancel your gym membership. You can't cancel online or through the app, and their phone goes straight to a robot. When I visited on a weekday (August 27th) between 3-4:00pm the manager wasn't in. You can't cancel without the manager. I left a note for the manager expressing that I wanted to cancel my membership, but the manager never responded to it.
Fine. On Sept. 3rd, I reached via email trying to cancel my membership. The manager responded on Sept. 9th (4 business days) saying I needed to provide proof of moving. Ridiculous, I should be able to remotely cancel my membership no matter where I live. I acquiesce, and the manager assures me that he's cancelled my membership. On Sept 11th I was charged for September. What kind of business does this?

The amount of stair masters is incredible, sauna is great, only downside is signal in the gym but thats more of a location thing than gym quality

This crunch really sucks the facility is super dirty, some of the memberships are contractual but they won’t tell you that until you want to cancel and they won’t let you. They will double charge your card with late fees and when you bring it up to the staff they will be extremely rude to you about it. Whatever you do don’t sign up for this gym it’s nasty and there business practices are predatory. Why can’t a cancel a service that I’m displeased with? Never sign of for contractual gym memberships. The late fees is $28 and they charge me TWICE in one month.

Not only was this one of the worst gym experiences I have ever had, the cancellation process is a complete nightmare. When I moved away from East Lansing in April, I went into the gym to cancel my membership.

I was greeted by a representative who assured me they were able to cancel my membership, telling me everything will be canceled after signing the form.

After leaving the gym, I was charged again the week after for the membership I "cancelled". So, still being in East Lansing, I went back to the gym to ONCE AGAIN CANCEL the membership that was already canceled.

And guess what happened..... the same thing again. I was told my membership was canceled, after SIGNING AGAIN and I have no left the state.

I have been charged every month since and finally got ahold of someone on the phone. After almost 2 weeks of calling, the representative from the location told me I never canceled, they have no signed forms, and that I need to come in person to cancel again. Not only do I not live in East Lansing anymore, I don't live in the Midwest.....

They are running me in circles and refuse to cancel my membership without me going in and signing. FORGET ABOUT A REFUND!

This place is the most unethical buisness practices I’ve ever delt with. I went here 1 time they signed me up for autopay I did not want since I don’t live in the area. To cancel you have to go in person WHEN A MANEGER IS THERE because only they can cancel subscriptions. If you no longer live in that area you have to email proof you don’t live near to cancel a subscription without being in person

My experience at this gym was very disappointing. When I arrived at 9:00 AM, the facility was in poor condition: the floors were dirty throughout, there was no toilet paper in the women’s restroom, the sanitary bins were full, paper towels were missing, and there was hair all over the floor. I had signed up for two workout classes, but the instructor never arrived. There was no notice of cancellation, and I received no communication beforehand. When I asked the staff for help, no one had any answers. I was also told that there is no female cleaner available, and the front desk employee acknowledged she could clean the restroom but chose not to. From the front desk to the restrooms and overall cleanliness, this location fell far short of what I expect from a professional gym. The lack of basic hygiene, poor communication, and unhelpful staff made this a very frustrating visit.

Crunch is a great place to workout. It is affordable and it has all the equipment I need and more. There are lots of machines and equipment in the gym where I’m not worried about competing for space. An added bonus is their sauna in the locker room; it is great.

The only drawback is that it is not cleaned neatly enough in my opinion. They could vacuum and mop way more than it appears.

I was a member of this gym for two years, going 6 days a week. Machines and other facilities (like the women’s handicap shower stall) stay broken with out of order signs for months. The women’s handicap stall, at the time of my ending my membership, has been out of order for over 6 months. This is a huge headache especially when it’s a popular piece of equipment and there’s only one or two.

Lots of college kids go to this location and have very poor gym etiquette. They camp out on machines, slam weights on the machines and don’t put things back. They don’t treat machines with respect so they’re broken often and stay that way. I don’t blame the staff for not correcting the behavior because they’re not paid well enough to deal with it, I blame management. I saws job posting in 2024 for a front desk person for $10/hr. I don’t know about you but that’s not enough for me to deal with some cocky jock sitting on a leg press for 30 minutes on his phone. Last time I was there the men’s sauna had been vandalized (again) and they just shut it down completely.

There’s been many time times I wanted to tan and there was no staff at the front desk so I could use the tanning bed. I ended up just reducing down to the basic plan since I wasn’t able to use the premium member services.

The cleaning is very poor, in all aspects of the gym: tanning, bathrooms, showers, equipment. Since I used to go regularly I saw the same filth for weeks and months. I used the showers and had to clean hair out of the drains constantly. In the tanning rooms you can see dust, hair and dirt accumulated around the tanning beds along the walls and the trash cans never have bags in them. I was once assigned to a tanning bed that had not been cleaned and tanning spray from the previous person was all over the lay down bed.

I would routinely get surveys from the gym and I relayed all this information every single time. I also notified them that their for extinguishers were not OHSA compliant per safety signage standards. It tells me that 1) No one actually reads the survey responses -OR- 2) management doesn’t actually care. I genuinely preferred this gym because of the equipment they have but all of these reasons soured my experience there. Management clearly does not care how their facility is being run and makes no effort to raise their standards.

Very dishonest about the contract and fees, made me pay another full annual fee after only being at the gym for 9 months a WEEK before I was about to cancel my membership as I was coming back home from college. Absolutely refused to work with me on this extra fee and would not cooperate at all. Just very dishonest and rude without much care for their customers and refusal to come to an agreement because of the greediness of their “contract”. Powerhouse is MUCH better.

I travel to get to this gym, not normally a problem because the facility and class instructors are nice BUT I've had it happen a couple of times when classes are canceled but no one tells you or you MIGHT get a text hours after your scheduled class time. Now they are having a power outage- I get it, some things are out of the gym's control but it's the fact that the only way of knowing they're closed is a sign taped to the front door. I showed up for a 6 am class to a closed gym and got a text at 1:30pm that they were closed. It's been 3 days now and they still don't show they are closed on social media, google, their outgoing phone message (don't bother calling, you won't get an answer anyway), or the app. You can still sign up for classes like it's open. This is so rude and annoying for your gym members but after reading other reviews on this particular gym, I guess that's common practice here.

If I could give a zero I would. Has bare-minimum standards as far as gyms go and they are complete scammers. They try to trick people into taking up incredibly expensive personal trainers which they claim are free and they don't offer online cancelation even though you can create an account online. Complete BS.

Crunch Fitness is by far my favorite gym. The gym is very large and has plenty of machines that are well maintained and let you target all the muscle groups you need. The membership price is really low compared to most other gyms out there and with my membership I'm able to use other Crunch Fitness gyms in the USA with no extra charge. There are also various classes available with the membership that take place regularly. There are free weight dumbbells going well over 100 lbs available as well as free weight bar machines for benching, squatting, dead-lifting etc.

Wow - I wish I would have actually looked at the reviews before subscribing. They speak a lot of truth.

I had visited this gym before as a guest in the summer, and thought it would be a good fit. I heard they had expanded, so I was looking forward to checking it out.

Unfortunately, theres a lot of misused space here. None of it went to the locker rooms or amenities areas. When students are in town, timing your workout between 9pm - 9am is going to be best. The reason I cancelled after only 5 months, was mostly because the lack of service or respect to the members. This shows up in the staff that don't bother look up from their phone to greet you or not keeping sanitation stations stocked with supplies. The cleanliness of the gym and availability of the amenities and sometimes even the basic machines are very poor.

Twice, I brought to the attention of the store staff ants in the mens locker room; the sauna got really disgusting before finally shutting it down without any other notice to members. Machines are covered in dust and hair, despite being cleaned daily.

When you want to change your membership, plan for a "change fee" being the amount of your current membership and definitely cancel before 10 days in person. When cancelling, I shared all of these concerns with Billy, the "Front Desk Manager" who chose to leave out any comments about the staff having poor service.

It's disappointing that large corporations like this can just take our money, and put forth this poor performance.

Let me be the millionth person to say that they make cancellation extremely difficult. Really scummy to set this place up in a college town and sucker a bunch of 19-year-olds out of their money. Never, ever, ever, ever sign up for a free trial here or a $1 down, or anything with this gym unless you are ready to be in a car or home like contract. I have never set foot in this gym, and my experience after being charged almost $300 and it being impossible to change my mind (because I paid $1) is that management is tunnel visioned. I have signed up for planet fitness cancelled went back a few months cancelled, WENT BACK…. When I’m ready & able to make the gym apart of my life I will be going to planet fitness. I wanted to try something new, but planet fitness understands the ebb & flow of being human and being reasonable, that’s why despite having no classes people will always over the course of time return to planet fitness. I have never step foot in crunch fitness but I owe them $300, that is unreasonable, (my balance is from 2022 from a $1 trial I never used) and I would never, ever, ever trust this gym with my financial information. No way. This is my experience do not start a trial here because it will be impossible to cancel if life happens and you never make it in the gym. I tried time & time again to cancel, I didn’t have to go into the gym to sign up, & they make it impossible to cancel and start later. I get the accountability aspect but simultaneously, life happens and this is what predatory and petty companies that don’t have the big picture in mind do, bait and trap. If you have a problem with their inhumane practices, File a BBB Complaint and a consumer protection complaint.

Cheap & Lazy for the biggest gym in Michigan.
Takes 2 weeks to fix any broken machine or cable even when the damage is minimum. Insufficent attachments, and things like foam rollers when they added a whole new section and steal all the foam rollers for the dance class instead of spending like $50 on some more.
Took them almost 2 months to fix the clock from daylight savings. A task that takes maybe 10-15 seconds.
Then they close down the sauna because people were pouring water on the heater because the room was cold? Rather than fixing the root of the problem, the biggest gym in Michigan can’t handle a sauna. Absolutely crazy. Actually such a lazy and cheap skating gym for having a million members

I’ve been a loyal member of this gym since the day it opened, and I’ve always respected the space and treated it like my own. So to hear that the sauna is being permanently closed due to “vandalism” — something I had absolutely no part in — is beyond frustrating.

Why are the responsible members being punished for the actions of a few? The sauna was an essential part of my routine — for recovery, relaxation, and overall wellness. It’s one of the reasons I chose this gym in the first place. Now it’s gone, and instead of addressing the actual issue or implementing better supervision, management has taken the lazy route by shutting it down completely.

This feels like a complete disregard for your loyal members — the ones who show up, pay on time, and treat the facility with respect. I expect better communication, accountability, and solutions than just stripping away valuable amenities. Do better.

I was a member of Crunch fitness for approximately 9 months. I also had Private training with a trainer I really liked. Here is why I would NEVER recommend them…When I went in to cancel my membership (yes, you have to do this in person) I was told I would be charged another whole month because it was inside of the 10 days…fine whatever. NEVER did they say that I had to cancel my additional personal training “account”. Not only was my trainer leaving them but I specifically told the “new” trainer that I was canceling my membership and no longer wanting training. A couple months later my husband tells me I’m still getting charged for training. I’m now in FL and so he goes in…gets another run around about a manager needing to handle this. 2 weeks go by and still no Manager calls. I spoke with the manager today (Nashay) and she gave me the whole run around about it being 2 separate contracts. No one EVER told me this. THEY ARE CROOKS. Would I recommend this gym…ABSOLUTELY NOT! So I am doing what I promised I would do and spread it on social media. They had a chance to make things right and they chose not to. Fine, I will let everyone know my experience.

The equipment and people are fine. I had the premium subscription where I was paying like $80 a month and a trainer. That was fine. The problem is that my trainer got fired and I had paid for the workouts ahead of time. Today, since canceling my subscription, I was charged $300 for the sessions I had booked with my fired trainer. I asked for my money back since I wasn’t working with him anymore and they denied my refund request. Brutal. $300 as a college student is like half my rent.

I use to love this gym, but then I wanted to cancel my month to month membership. They are extremely shady about canceling a month to month membership. I assumed (my fault) that since it was month to month that when they tried to pull from my old bank account I recently closed that my membership would end just like any other month to month membership (Netflix, spotify, ect) then I could continue my membership though the group gym plan offered through my work health insurance. This is not the case, they charge a negative balance anyways and CONTINUE to charge even though I would not be allowed in the club. I have been a member since the day they opened and feel like my loyalty meant nothing. They easily could have just just waived the fee, canceled, and then continued to recieve payment from me through my insurance for years to come, but instead they will just have to have their lawyers send $90 to collections and wait years until they maybe recieve it lol.

TLDR: Great gym, busy during peak times, easy cancelation. 10/10 would recommend

Loved working out here, great atmosphere, amazing equipment, employees don't bother you much. You scan in and they don't pay you any attention unless you have questions, comments, or concerns for them to listen to. (Which I love, I just want to exercise and go home.)
Since it's located within a college town being right next to Michigan State university it obviously will have quite a large amount of people being there from time to time. Which is completely fine, I don't understand peoples incandescent complaints about it being "too crowded".
It's quite literally the best public gym around MSU, of course it will be crowded at peak times, some people have zero critical thinking when it comes to understanding that and it's laughably appalling.

I unfortunately had to cancel my membership as I was planning on moving to a whole different part of the state, and comparably to other gyms I've had the misfortune of being a member of (planet fitness [awful]🤮🤢🤮 and powerhouse gym) the cancelation process was extremely easy. I just showed up asked to cancel, they asked why. I simply told them I was moving, they offered to transfer me to the ann arbor location, I declined and that was it. No fees, no hassle, just easy and straightforward.

I would absolutely love to begin my membership again since I didnt end up moving just commuting to work instead, especially now that there has been a massive expansion I've heard about, but being a father with a full time job doesn't leave me with ample time to get a complete stretch, workout, cardio, and cool down completed. I'd love to check out the new expansions and maybe that would motivate me to not have excuses and just reactivate my membership, small at home excersises with a 2 year old terrorizing me can only get me so far lol.

Update: They are doing a much better job keeping the gym clean. They doubled the space and brought in a lot of new equipment. I still think the lockerroom floor should be cleaned better.

Original post: Great equipment and trainers. However, the facility does not seem to be cleaned regularly and the locker room is disgusting and gross, especially the floor and plumbing fixtures. Sanitizing wipes dispensers are not immediately refilled. Health club restrooms should be pristine. I personally brought it to the manager's attention and he gave me stock excuses, "it's hard to hire cleaning staff," and "we keep trying." They should just hire a janitorial service...there are plenty. If they don't show up on a certain day, the manager should clean the locker rooms himself. It's that important.

East Lansing Crunch is a very busy gym and there's no excuse for it being so unsanitary.

The employees are scammers and will purposely leave out information to take your money. I called to cancel my membership a month ago and they told me it can’t be done over the phone. I go in person last week they tell me there’s no manager there. I go and finally cancel it today and they tell me that there’s a 10 day cancellation notification and I’m gonna have to pay another month before it is canceled. They also increased my rates without asking me and said it was because my contract ended. Why would you not just put it on pause if my contract ends instead of increasing my rate from 10 dollars a month to 18. I explained that I tried to cancel the month before and the same person I talked too was there and she asked if I had any proof.

I joined Crunch Fitness under the Peak Results plan because it was advertised as “Month-to-Month No Commitment.” Unfortunately, after signing up, I discovered hidden terms that contradicted this claim. For example, I was charged an annual fee that I couldn’t avoid even if I canceled before the first 12 months were up. This was never clearly stated on the sign-up page, and the fine print was buried in the membership agreement, which only appeared after I had provided my payment information.

When I tried to cancel, I encountered significant challenges. Crunch Fitness has made the cancellation process unnecessarily difficult, and based on other reviews here, I’m not the only one with this experience.

Additionally, the advertised “free month” is misleading because it seems tied to terms that lock you into payments you can’t easily get out of. It’s incredibly frustrating that a gym advertising “no commitment” actually enforces terms that make cancellation feel like a commitment.

While the gym facilities might be fine for some, the lack of transparency and honesty in their advertising is a major red flag. I encourage anyone considering Crunch Fitness to read all the fine print carefully and be fully aware of the hidden fees and challenges you may face.

Gym has a ton of equipment. That’s about all the positive I have for it. It’s always extremely busy, minimal athletic area and what they do have is usually taken by classes that use the 1/4 of the gym for 8 people, you’ll have to wait 10-15 minutes for a single machine during peak time and deal with usually dirty bathrooms and locker rooms.

I’ve been going to crunch since opening day, and don’t plan on going elsewhere. It’s the gym I recommend to anyone who’s working out at a PF, or looking for more variety in their training.

I’ve always liked that they not only have all the free weights, and machines you need, but they also places for cardio, HIIT and stretching. My biggest complaint is machine maintenance, and crowding (which I believe will be resolved with their new expansion). Although most of the machines work consistently, there are always a couple broken cables. I do blame the users rather than the gym, but with cables being the most versatile equipment in the gym, it’s annoying when I have to check if the open cable is actually working; stuck in place, stuck at a weight or doesn’t move smoothly. I understand maintaining equipment with as many members as they have is difficult, but it would be nice to have things fixed in a timely manner.

And to touch on crowding: I’m someone who wants to do my workout and leave. I have found if you go during the day, or in the evening you can just about count on having to wait for the machine, bench, squat rack, weight, or space to workout. Because of this I go either early in the morning or late at night. As I had said previously, I do believe that their expansion will help a lot with the crowding and I look forward to its opening.

Lastly the staff: In my time there I have seen many employees and trainers come and go. I have never had any issues with their staffing and I believe they all do a great job.

P.s. shout out to the good lighting and the gym buddies I’ve made there!

My daughter joined Crunch in East Lansing in 2024. From the day she started, she was harrassed by other patrons (young men) as well as by the staff. The staff were trying so hard to get her to pay for extras that they interrupted her workouts--at one point actually stopping the machine she was using. She and I advise young women, in particular, to avoid this gym. Very misogynistic atmosphere.

I spent 6 months working with a personal trainer at this location. While the facility is very dirty and poorly maintained (watch a hair scrunchie sit in the middle of the floor for 2+ weeks), you get what you pay for and I understand that.
I worked with a personal trainer for 3 days a week for 6 months. During this time, I was very vocal about the lack of results and the ways workout were seeming to not work. The trainer was unable to change course. I figured, this is because he is the professional and followed suit.
During the last 2 months, I had expressed my concern with the lack of progress. My diet had never been more dialed in before in my life and my physicals measurements (BMI, waist, neck, legs, arms, chest circumference) remained unchanged. I provided my tracking logs of weekly measurements as well as clearly explaining my goals and going as far as to provide edited pictures of what I was aspiring towards. I was certain that my efforts were where the stagnation came from. The trainer assured me that was putting in more than enough when I was working with him and it was not a lack of effort in the gym with him as the root cause.
When we got to 30 days left, I informed the location of my intent to cancel my membership and informed my trainer that after the 30 days, we would stop working out together if we did not see any progress. At this point, he wanted to do what my ideas were. "what do you want to do for reps, sets, what workouts on what days on what cadence?" While these are great questions, I ultimately realized that it did not make sense to pay someone $80 a day to do this plus the membership to a poorly maintained gym.
During this time, I also informed the management at the gym of my intent to cancel my membership. I sent an email and followed the contract close by the books.
30 days later, I wished the trainer great success and we parted way's happily. He worked hard with me but was just not able to get out of me what my goals are. His style of training did not serve my body.
It has now been 6 months elsewhere. I have lost 13lbs of body fat and gained 3.5lbs of muscle mass. I have set record max weights and have found an incredibly vigorous and energetic lifestyle. The professional that got me dialed in knew what was happening in the first 35 minutes of us working together and adjusted. I could not be happier.

Unfortunately, the gym has continue to bill my account. In efforts to stop this, the location became combative and accusatory of why it was my fault. I provided email confirmations of me following my contractual responsibilities and provided sufficient notice and lived outside the radius that imposes cancellation policies. Emailing back and forth has made it clear that they will not be willing to own their errors. The last response I received before writing this review is "We received your intent to cancel your training but not your membership." The email that was sent stated was as follows:

Hello!

This is written notice of my intention to cancel my
Membership. I have personal training scheduled with Mike through April 15. He has been aware of my desire to cancel for 3 weeks based on results we get together.

If my results make a major shift between now and April 15th, I will reach out.

Thank you.

Unfortunately, this location is unclean, poorly maintained (roof leaks, ac failures, and equipment failures consistently), difficult to work with, and ultimately lacking the education necessary to get help a person achieve their goals. You will actually get more out of a membership with a Planet Fitness than this location.

In town only for 4days, front desk attendant named E hooked me up with a 2day guest pass instead of only 1. The little things go a long way, that was really kind of him. Gave me a quick tour of the gym as well. The facility was clean and maintained with weights in proper places. Rest of staff was friendly too. Nothing but good vibes. Highly recommend and will return next time I’m in town!

They make it purposely difficult to cancel your membership because they know their gym is going to hell. Music doesn’t work, stood at the desk for 10 minutes with no one there. Overall terrible. Spend your money elsewhere.

If you call to cancel they will tell you to come in
When you come in it’s “oh we don’t have a manager on duty today to cancel
It, send an email to this email to cancel”

The email asks you to PROOVE you moved more than 25 miles away from east lansing which is hilarious.

Issue chargebacks to this place and don’t look back. They’re professional fraudster's pretending to be a gym.

Enough already!!! For all those that say the gym is dirty-- please explain! I always seen a clean floor . Back in the even.the clean gyms had chalk all over the floor.. I was in that gym everyday for 2 months and didn't see anything different then any other gym.
Is the gym hot sometimes? Yes! The gym at peak times has an overload of members resulting in the temperature rise. If you walk over to the middle area by the treadmills you will feel the cooling.
Please name.the gym with a better atmosphere and Vibe! It seems no mention abour the electric atmosphere ! Crunch in east lansing is 2nd to none on Atmosphere and ,the management is Top Notch. Overall it is tied with another gym for the best overall in the State of Michigan and it's not even close. The Real gym warriors go to this Temple! At the end of the day, they aren't running the annoying vacuum behind you every hour like planet fitness. If you want the best around and serious ONLY go to this gym. If you want a fancy romantic dinner and play games go to planet fitness. Enjoy their Smith machines that are held up by springs.

I liked working out here, I did. However, I’m moving to a city where there is no Crunch Fitness location. I called to cancel my membership and was told I could only cancel in person. I told them I was moving. They told me to email, so I did. Since emailing, I have received no response and have been charged $90. This is absolutely ridiculous and unfair. I have been charged $90 because Crunch Fitness can’t bother to email me back and help me cancel my account. I emailed asking them to cancel my account and grant me a refund, so we’ll see. If they can help me achieve that, I’ll actually recommend this place.

Edit: no response months later. I went in person and cancelled and they told me I had to wait an hour for the manager to show up. I did. I cancelled my membership.

This has potential to be a great gym, because they have a lot of equipment. However, they haven’t used the air conditioning once it got hot so it’s sticky and uncomfortable when you work out. Also, they don’t do a good job keeping it clean. Maybe it just needs better management?

Very dirty. Too crowded during the school year. Not enough staff to clean. The racks with the TVs are covered in so much dust that I sneeze and my eyes water the whole time. The drinking fountains have mold on them. There's mold in the bathroom by the sinks. The showers are filthy.
Edited to add: they never clean the parking lot. There's been broken glass in the lot for weeks. I'm pretty sure the flat tire I got was from here.
Also, they charge you if you want to change your membership. Separate from the annual fee and monthly fees and the original sign up fee.
Also, they bolted all the benches down, so now they can no longer be used at the squat racks, making it impossible to do hip thrusts, split Squats, etc.

Crunch is your mediocre corporate gym- it's okay but could use serious improvements.

The women's locker room- usually disgusting, out of toilet paper and paper towels. Trash on the ground.

Machines- some are broken for months. Seems like a genuine lack of care for cleanliness and operational equipment.

Membership cancelation- BUYER BEWARE. This happened to me, my husband, and a friend. When you approach the front desk to cancel, they ALWAYS use the line, "the manager isn't here, you'll have to come back..." as a way for you to either forget to cancel or not want to deal with the red tape. As a former fitness instructor, here's a secret: there is ALWAYS a manager of some sort on duty. Do not let them bully you.

Front desk- pretty miserable. It's not hard to look up from your phone and greet those who are paying your bills.

Overall, wouldn't recommend.

Crunch- Greet your customers, keep the facility clean, stay on top of maintenance, and stop with the shady cancellations.

Signed up a few years ago and used to be better then. Way too crowded, with people and machines. They recently re-arranged the layout so spin (which is supposed to be its own top level membership to access those classes) has been moved to the group fitness room and the spin room was given to stretching space?? How does that make sense? There also has not been consistent classes even besides when they say “a new season is coming up, new class schedule coming up”. This makes is pretty hard to try and build a routine with classes or targeted routines included. Not to mention, the teachers don’t stay for long… Also the equipment doesn’t fee clean bc the wipes break down immediately and the yoga/stretch mats are constantly just dipped around and getting ripped and scratched up.

This fitness facility is by far the worst I have ever experienced. I enrolled my 16-year-old son for a short three-week period and ended up paying a staggering $144.00. The sign-up process had to be done online, and despite receiving a confirmation when I canceled the membership was not actually canceled. We were required to pay a $44 sign-up fee and then got charged $17.99 monthly with a month-to-month contract, which we ended up paying twice. Even after canceling on March 6th, we were still charged $17.99 on March 25th, as well as an unexpected yearly charge of $59.99. Truly a frustrating and disappointing experience.

What I love-
It seems the trainers are genuine and that the people Who do personal training are enjoying themselves.
Plenty of equipment around.
Space to move.
Large changing areas.
Barbell platforms, thank you!
Seems to be a member culture that cleans their equip when done for the most part.

I’d love to see improved -
Cleanliness and upkeep is flat out poor.

1/3 girl bathroom sinks is still out of use since I started.
Bikes don’t turn on.
Sauna is out of service.
Straight faces for the most part when you walk in. Sometimes not even greeted.

The ventilation is terrible, it’s musty as hell 90% of the time. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to ask that multiple wipe stations be filled. How this happens with so many people on staff I have no idea.

The standards of excellence are set low. Tons of staff seemingly standing their positions but certainly not going above and beyond. I understand volume is high here which makes it harder to upkeep but no excuse. if it wasn’t a busy college area it probably wouldn’t be open.

Just because it’s a 10$ membership doesn’t mean it can’t be valued higher. Simple rules and changes would go a long way here in terms of customer service and value add and with my whole family going here as its closest for them, it’s a coin we’ll have to toss and we hope To see things change for the better for everyone.

Before you sign up, be sure to get your own copy of the contract and read it well to understand exactly what you’re signing up for.
When I first joined CF, I did so when they were offering a free month. When that month came close to an end, I decided I no longer wanted a membership there and attempted to cancel. An attempt of doing this in person (which they require) and was explicitly told that I couldn’t cancel. I was then charged for the first month, which was advertised as free. This annoyed me, but I let it go with the takeaway that nothing in life is really free. I attempt to cancel my membership after this; told that I can not cancel. Then my card gets charged for an annual fee, which everyone has to pay being a member for 45 days or more. I literally tried to cancel weeks before then, but was prevented UnTIL it got to 45 days and they charged me an annual fee for “officially” being a member for 2 weeks.
Their contract and this whole process is so predatory. If you’re just looking to try a gym, this is not the gym for you. PF would be a much better option (short term and long term). Also, when I tried canceling, I asked if I could mail a notice in and was told I couldn’t; went back and read their contract… I should’ve been able to.
This process was so frustrating and I was very upset when I was able to finally close my account. I remember the manager who helped me was the one who completed my sign-up. I was with a friend who also signed up, so she didn’t bother to explain the terms again to me. I wish she had because I would not have signed. Looking back, she was likely following her training and bound by her predatory contract that makes it hard for people to cancel. So, maybe I got frustrated with the wrong person. Overall, this was just a bad experience and I do not recommend. But if you try here, be sure to read.

There are several pros and cons to this gym, but unfortunately, the cons outweigh the pros. Their drinking fountain is frequently broken and then they charge their members for water bottles. Besides having workout equipment, having a drinking fountain is an essential part of any gym. The least they could do is give the water bottles to their members for free. I’ve also noticed they often run out of paper towel (to wipe the machines down) and they don’t refill them. Same with in the bathroom. I also noticed the presence of ants in their tanning bed rooms. My last complaint is their class schedule. During the peak workout times (after work, around 5 pm), they’ll plan workout classes utilizing the only free/open areas in the gym. This makes the main areas even more crowded and essentially a nightmare to navigate. Good luck getting any equipment. I like this gym, but I don’t love it. There’s a lot of room for improvement.
