I know multiple people who are unable to cancel their membership as no one is ever at the desk of the gym. When people call to cancel because there is no physical staff, they are told tough luck and you have to keep paying. This gym SUCKS, I’ve been in as a guest multiple times and it is dirty, each time has been the same. The restrooms are disgusting and the lack of on site staff is frustrating. Do not attend this scam gym

This morning I rejoined after 8 yrs at other gyms. The desk girl helped me with the app and everything I do think it's nuts to have to pay a monthly app fee but if you buy a year at a time there.are no maintenance fees. The desk girl was wonderful and the place still shines and clean as ever.....

Rick and his team are incredible. One of the cleanest and most well maintained gyms I've ever been a part of. The app is much improved recently, and the price is great for what you get. They even let me set up massage in their space to promote my own buisness and help each other out. Couldn't ask for a better gym!

Cutting edge is a great gym. Buttt the people who run it are money hungry I quit going to cutting edge a year ago and they just tried to charge me today a year later. If you don’t take your card off file they will take your money even after you go to a different gym. They also tried to charge me 200 dollars for walking in the gym and someone I don’t know walking in behind me. You would think they’d come talk to you. NO THEY DONT. They tried to charge me 200 but they couldn’t because. I took my card off file. Oh and since I took my card off file how are they still able to charge you. They own the gym swipe ap and nickel and dime you thinking you won’t notice.

It's difficult to express just how much I regret doing business with Cutting Edge. I moved out of state in May 2024. After cancelling my account in person before leaving, I'm still being charged now in March 2025. I've sent proof of my residency in my new state. I've sent emails. I've spoken on the phone. They still are leeching on my hard earned dollars like the predatory company they are.

Just look at the dozens of other reviews that echo mine below. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of cutting edge. They have proven to employ shady and unethical business practices.

Just like they have done for the other reviews, they will respond and try to discredit my statement here. Well, that's right on brand. Don't trust them.

They've left me no other option but legal action. Moving to take this to small claims court.

The gym is great to workout at when it’s not busy. Equipment is very good and maintained. Lot of free weight and machines to use. Includes free tanning and sauna use.
Terry is also a great guy, my man out here making sure that place is cleaner than the old lady that lives in her shoe.

Another UPDATE: they have not even bothered to respond to the Better Business Bureau. Stay Away!
UPDATE: I keep lowering my rating based on their response. They charged me after I cancelled in person and have it in writing. In addition, they refuse to help cancel my GymSwype membership that I do not remember signing up for. The app does not let you cancel and no one answers the phone. It is only $1.50/mo but it’s the principle. They could cancel it but flat out refuse to. Claiming it is a different company when the owner knows I know he owns Cutting Edge and GymSwype. These jokers keep charging GymSwype after you cancel. DO NOT JOIN HERE OR GYMSYPE.

Gym is nice with lots of equipment. However, it is very expensive and they nickel and dime you. Also, setting donation jars out for new equipment is tacky and obnoxious. They also sign you up for Gymswype and don’t give you the login and password to cancel and act like it is totally an independent company and they can’t help. Gymswype is owned by the same couple of people.

The actual gym is great. The people running it not so much. Tried to cancel my membership a few times and they will not do it. If you read other reviews its the same thing. I signed up online and I should be able to cancel online. Law is coming down on then shortly. Not to mention going over my bank statements they have double charged me and i will be taking action against them. Sick of bullies thinking they can take advantage of people. You did it to the wrong guy this time.

Been in a battle over there tanning sence we have gotten our membership several bulbs blown and was told many many times bulbs are on there way and now it's been 4 months and haven't even been able to use there tanning at all sence we got the membership want out of the membership and now they want to charge us each $200 for early cancelation even tho they can not fix there tanning. I have texts emails and call logs to prove it all we are very unsatisfied with cutting edge and just want out of the contract because we can go somewhere eles that has tanning g that works and we have been paying the $30a month for 4 months now and can't even get to tan this whole time told many of the employees that I would like to speak to the owners to resolve this issue and to talk o them about getting out of the contract without being charged the 200 for early cancelation because they are not giving us what we pay for I do not recommend this gym to. Anyone at all I would if they would cancel our membership with out charging us 200 bucks but they won't and the thing is we don't even want out money back just not to be charged $200for cancelation of our membership hopefully they will stop our membership and not charge us 200 for it like there trying to do

GymSwype is another layer, added solely for ownership to lock gym members into a SECOND predatory contract

Went here for for a little over a year and went to cancel my membership because I drive about 25 minutes out of my way to the gym and wanted something closer to home. I canceled and they said my membership ends Dec 14th officially, so I went and used it while I had it, on the 15th of this month I get charged 30.99$ for my membership I had canceled, on top of it I got charged 19.99$ for tanning and 5$ for my gymswype even after I canceled my membership. I have been double charged around 6x from this gym and never got paid back for the double charges. Along with when calling the phone number left on google it just keeps ringing. Heads up to anyone who goes here!

While the facility is above average the payment method for visitors is disappointing. I come into town a week at a time at different intervals and had a bad experience with "Gym Swype" continuing to charge me even though I signed for a one week rate. Since they have not had a cash option for one day visits I found myself going to the YMCA ever since.

The facility is amazing, they have a machine for every muscle and niche. Plenty of free weights and space to use them (although the barbells are not the best in my opinion). If you’re a frequent and serious lifter I’d recommend going to this gym over the YMCA or Planet fitness. It is more expensive but you’re paying for the convenience and access to the best equipment in the area. The main complaint I have is that it tends to be crowded in the morning and after 2 pm (from what I have experienced), which can be annoying at times. But overall it is a good environment to get a workout in, everyone there is looking to put in work and better themselves, and it really pushes me to work harder.
All of the poor reviews I’ve seen aren’t even about the gym itself, but issues with the “gym-swipe” system that is used for check in and purchasing memberships. While the system is a little tricky to use, and I advise you to pay attention and ask questions. It is nowhere near a “scam” or some sort of trick used to swindle you out of money.

This place is a scam! I bought a membership in November 2021 on a yearly contract. Due to unforeseen circumstances I had to leave town in a hurry and will not be returning. When I called in to cancel my membership they told me they were not allowed to do it and that I would have to show up in person, but I had to leave state to take care of a family member who is very sick. I am perfectly capable and willing to pay the membership cancellation fee but I am not willing to drive 1000+ miles to show up in person just to cancel my membership. If you are in this area do yourself a favor and do not buy a membership here!

Complete money hungry un-empathic pieces of garbage. I got a membership with them in the beginning of 2020 because my US Army recruiter recommended I go to the gym before leaving for basic. I used my membership less than 5 times before I realized I hated the environment that they provided. I spoke to the girl upfront inside the gym that I wanted to end my membership and called them at least two more times after that. Well it’s now been 2 years and I was recently informed by them that they did not end my membership, they proceeded to charge me this entire time and sent what they are trying to make me pay unfairly to collections to damage my credit. I have followed their childish procedures to no end. I have wrote and spoke with the owner, he spoke with my recruiter and I have called and left voicemails to their collections department who refuse to call me back to figure this out. They are acting like I made a contract with the IRS and that there is nothing they can do to help me. They are ridiculous and unprofessional as you can get. Do not go there!

This place is truly awful, I have not used the gym or any of their services that are offered for over a year. I have been calling since September asking for a manager to speak with in regards to my membership, do not get a call back. I have physically taken myself to the building twice, nobody there to talk to. I was charged twice this month for a gym I do not use and have not been able to cancel my membership. This place is a joke. I would never recommend this gym to anyone as the owners and staff are super shady. We have tried canceling our membership multiple times and somehow "the paperwork keeps getting lost" and they keep charging us fees. We have called and we're always told to come in person to cancel and we have come in and signed paperwork that we have canceled our subscription but keep finding charges on our account. When asked, they said they have nothing on file and that we will have to pay the fees. How this place is still in business is beyond me.

I had a six month tanning membership. I called at the end of the six months to make sure they were not going to charge me anymore. I didn’t Tan there more than twice and I don’t have a gym membership. I was told me after my sixth month there would be no more charges. Low and behold there was another charge. I called to find out what was going on and this time was informed that I have to Physically go into that place and sign to cancel. I was never told this when I got the membership or I’d have paid in full. Be very careful with this place doing this type of thing to get more money from people and making it difficult to stop paying when you don’t want it.

This place will seriously take money out of your account whenever they want! My 1 year contract was up in December 2018. I had noticed they took another payment January 1st 2019 and that was completely my fault as i had forgotten that i needed to go into the facility (in person) and cancel my membership so between January 5th and the 12th 2019 i went in and talked to a guy at the counter and told him i was there to cancel my membership. He asked my name and wrote it on a piece of paper, then asked the reason for canceling, i told him my 1 year was up. Asked for my phone number then wrote it down and said im all set.

February comes and i notice another payment was made February 1st 2019! So i called and talked to someone. He took my name and number and said he will have someone contact me. No one contacted me!!

February 28th 2019 my wife tells me that there is a pending transaction to the gym again. So i went back up there February 29th 2019 as soon as i got out of work and talked to a girl this time and my experience was a little different as she had me print and sign a paper and write my reason for canceling. Sure enough the payment came out March 1st!

Now today is March 15th 2019 and guess what another pending transaction is showing. So i call and talk to Kaitlyn and ask if i can speak to a manager. She says can i ask the reason? So i explained that money is still being taken out of my account after i cancelled my membership. She asked for my name and my number and said someone will contact you. I asked her to check and see if it showed in her computer that my membership had been cancelled. She said no its still showing that im active! I asked for her to switch it!

I contacted my bank and had to dispute the payment and get a new debit card so they cant take another payment from me!

PLEASE IF YOUR GOING TO SIGN UP AT THE CUTTING EDGE PAY WITH CASH SO YOU DONT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AS I DID.

I was over charged and told that isnt her problem, tried canceling my membership but I wanted to pay what was owed for 3 months Courtney told me to bad. Courtney told me I was only upset because I wasnt getting my way. LMAO actually I am mad because you are charging me more than you should from time to time and telling me to bad.

Let me start by saying that to anyone who is considering getting a membership here, I don’t recommend it at all. I would highly recommend finding another gym. I’ve honestly never written a bad review in my life but after making several phone calls to the owner, Courtney, to resolve the issue with no success I feel compelled to let everyone know my experience so that you can hopefully avoid it. My boyfriend and I went in asking for the shortest commitment they offered, which at the time was 3 months. I let the person at the front desk know very clearly that I would be moving out of state in about 2.5 months and that I didn’t want to be charged after the 3 months. They assured me I wouldn’t be. I then signed a contract and left. That was in April. I have been living in N.C. for months now and went to close my Michigan bank account which happened to be the one they had on file and realized I was still being charged. At that point my boyfriend and I contacted the gym on September 11th and were told that a manager would call back. Called again the 18th and was finally called back the 19th. After being charged an additional annual fee that would have been avoided had my membership been cancelled the 11th when I called originally. When I finally got in touch with an owner, Courtney, she let me know that there was NO WAY her employee had told me that and even if they had that it was written in my contract and they had no obligation to refund me any money. After reading through the contract I realized that I had in fact signed allowing them to continually take money out but hadn’t read through carefully enough because the employee assured me I wouldn’t be charged after 3 months. This was of course my mistake to take someone’s word while signing something which I totally admit. I asked Courtney to refund the last month and annual fee as I was told conflicting information and I had not been in the gym in months. She told me to think of it from a business perspective and that it didn’t make “business sense”, completely disregarding business ETHICS. I hate to have to write such a detailed review because I know not many people care to hear every detail of my experience but I want to be absolutely sure I’m telling everything. My boyfriend wrote a similar review about our experience in less detail and has been getting texts from the owner telling him he absolutely has to take it down and they have done nothing wrong and it will hurt their business, threatening to call lawyers for slander instead of trying to fix the situation in any way. I’ve never experienced a business that cares so little about having their customers walk away happy with their experience and with that being of such high value to me, I felt compelled to let other people know my experience at this gym.

Signed up for a 3 month membership at this gym. After I had moved away, they continued to charge me membership fees and a maintenance fee after the 3 months was completed. The owner was very rude when I called to resolve this issue, and refused to refund me any money. Her reasoning was that it is bad "business sense" to refund money. I haven't even swiped into this mediocre gym in months, but still got charged membership fees. I will continue to advise all my business associates and their employees in that area to never join this gym.
