NEW MEMBERS NOTICE: Most negative reviews may have been true at one point but as of recently, the gym has improved in many areas. There's more equipment, cleaner area, and friendlier environment. The gym is still on a path of improvement but progress is being made 💪 👍.

The staff that are always there are friendly and the location is convenient but it DESPERATELY needs some new equipment. More variety of dumbbells (12.5 & 17 would be great!), a stair stepper, a hack squat, a rowing cable machine, hip thrust machine, ANY modern machine. There are about 5 leg curl/extensions that could be swapped for some newer equipment.

I’ve been a member here for several years. Gym has plenty of equipment and enough space that it doesn’t feel crowded. Staff is friendly and open to input from members. One of the best value’s for a gym membership in the city.

Posting for female friend: "Ladies-I’ve gone here since the new owner opened after covid shut down. Love the gym, but I’m very uncomfortable around a certain front desk worker who stares constantly and intensely. I’ve started to dress more conservatively because I’m uncomfortable, but I don't recommend this gym for women"

They are a nice small gym but they are a pain when it comes to canceling memberships. Everyone is very nice but some of the equipment is old and the ceiling leaks. Wouldn't recommend it if you need to cancel the plan.

Disappointing, but I'm here to update this review. Please read if you are considering this gym.

I've maintained my membership here for over a year now. While it's still a relatively quiet gym and the employees are friendly, I would urge you to stay away.

The owner here is not a man of his word and has no regard for this facility. The equipment has continued to go downhill and break. Since the start of my membership, there has been no new equipment added to the facility despite his promises every single time I spoke with him. They still charged all the members the $40 enhancement fee while the equipment remains rusted and falling apart.

There were multiple conversations that I had with the owner where he claimed that the "new equipment is coming in next week" - well, months passed. Nothing happened.

Old equipment may not seem like a huge deal to some, but it's genuinely a safety hazard. Not to mention, the equipment is FILTHY. You don't have to look hard, you'll see accumulations of years of dirt and grime on everything.

The ceilings also leak heavily - buckets of standing water are all over the place and it smells like a damp basement.

I can't believe how much this place went downhill. I had true faith that when I signed up there would be continuous improvement being done to this place. Definitely not the case.

Oh, also. They make it extremely difficult to cancel despite the fact that I paid extra each month to have easy cancellation. I stopped in this morning and the employees at the front desk aren't allowed to cancel memberships. Have to contact a random email address, so we'll have to see how that goes. Again, not the employee's fault. They seem just as frustrated with everything going on here.

Really, it's a shame.

After my Snap fitness location closed, I was looking for another gym option that wasn’t constantly overflowing with people. I checked out just about every gym in the GR area, including other Snap locations, YMCA, GR City Gym, MVP, etc.

All these other gyms were PACKED, and many had wait times for equipment. I knew about the Family Fitness up on Alpine but had no idea that they had this location. I walked in and was shocked by the size of the place. You can’t tell from the outside but this place is spacious. Free weights, cardio equipment, machines, squat racks, leg press and everything that I needed to check the boxes. Some of the equipment is older and a little squeaky but it gets the job done.

I’ve been coming here for a while now. The mornings are quiet, a few regulars. 5PM has it’s usual small rush, but the space is large and it never interferes with workouts.

Shirley is a great manager of the place, and she advocates for new equipment. Some of the equipment could use new replacements, so it’s nice to have someone who is paying attention to that kind of stuff.

As long as I’m on the Westside, this will be my home gym.

Charges a $40 “club enhancement fee” meanwhile the ceilings are leaking. Incredibly difficult to cancel the membership. Staff is very friendly which is the only reason for 2 stars. Would not recommend.

I've been going to this gym for almost 6 months now. It's never too busy and the assistant manager is super cool and will take the time to get to know you if you're willing to chat. She's actually been my personal trainer for the past few months. I've lost 10 pounds and I've gained muscle just going 3-4 times a week for 1.5hr. She also helps everyone around us when we are training to make sure they're lifting efficiently and safely. Shout out to Sam for being an above-and-beyond assistant manager and a fantastic personal trainer. This gym would not be the same without her, give her a raise!

DO NOT GO HERE WORST GYM EVER WATER Leaking ALL OVER THE PLACE & ITS $75 DOLLARS TO CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIP NO MATTER WHAT THAT THEY DONT TELL YOU. DO NOT GO HERE WARNING YA. If my membership isn't cancelled for free I'll be calling better business bureau & health department for unhealthy conditions.

I love this gym. It has all of the equipment i use in my usual workout routine and lots of weight lifting equipment as well. I also love that they’re 24/7.

My only two drawbacks are (1) the rowing machine is super old and outdated and (2) the showers never seem to have hot water

The hours are sometimes scattered but the gym has a ton of equipment that other gyms won't have. GHR machine, tank sled, reverse hack squat machine. Great location and big.

I enjoyed my first workout here. This gym is larger than the other family fitness location Ive been working out at. It looks like they've got just about everything here to facilitate a variety of good workouts. It apandpeared to be clean and organized. I've got no complaints about this gym.

Positives
- Friendly
- clean
- not packed (which I love because u don't have to worry about being insecure)
-love their class room (does need it's own separate weights tho)

Negatives
-Paying for 24 hr access and its not available
- no mats, bands, or bar pads
- only 1 kettleball
- weight plates scattered everywhere
-not enough weight plates....need more 10# & 15#
- If there are more than 3 ppl using the weights you'll b waiting
-no organization for the cable machine accessories and missing a few important ones like the rope
- no treadmills
- need 8# and 12# weights
