Conditions were ok, great price at $37 for 18 fall twilight rate I believe. Only problem was pace of play was horrendous. Most holes had 3-4 groups on them, had to leave after 9.

Made the turn with nearly 25 minutes of daylight left, got our tee shots off, only to get pushed off the course so the kid could go home. We could have easily hit our putts on hole 1, did a par 4 hole 2, and then a par 4 hole 3.

I made it all the way back to ironwood and they still had a few golfers out since it was still daylight.

Such a bummer, for so called premium course In East Lansing.

Course is good, the poor rating does not reflect on the course as a whole. The practice range has a lot of potential, but the condition of the grass tee area is generally pretty bad. I understand the range gets a lot of traffic, but for a school with a turfgrass management program I would expect greater care to keep the grass on the range in good shape. You can find a quality spot here and there, but the majority of the range is basically playing out of sand/dirt with sparse grass growing out of it. Let's start over and get some sod out there next year!

Met up with some buddies for a group outing and had a blast. Really easy, really open course. Nothing special but well taken care of. I might not make the trip to get back but I enjoyed my time here. Great practice facilities.

I just recently played 18 holes here for the first time. Previous visits I have used their driving range multiple times. I can say the driving range is very nice and there are even private areas usually available for no extra charge. The staff was friendly and we had an excellent day of golf here. I felt like all the greens and tee boxes were in good shape, and overall, the course was beautiful. It's a great place to spend a few hours playing golf. Having a beverage cart employee coming around is a nice bonus. A lot of courses no longer offer that service, and when you are playing 18 holes, getting refreshments is great.

Showed up to the shop about 5-10 minutes early. There was an issue with one of the customers ahead of us, and we ended up at the tee 15-20 minutes later. We were in a group of 4 with a couple beginners, and the starter was aggressive with us after the tee shots. Near the green on the first hole, the starter drove up to tell us to move quickly and that he already had to send a group to the back 9 because of us, repeatedly emphasizing that we were clearly beginners. From this experience, they don't seem very friendly to beginners and there is poor communication between the shop and starter. Neatly kept turf and course though.

Every single time I go to this golf course there’s always some kind of issue, it never fails. It’s like they just have to have something out of order,

Payed for 18, a dirty cart with torn seats. Classy to say the least.

Go to the 1st tee, starter says well I am pairing you with another golfer in the same cart. Both of us objected to riding in the same cart, we were told when you pay for a round , you only pay for half of the cart. We still objected to this , the manager stated that is how it is . Never heard of this before at any golf course.

The play is always slow, no Marshall’s doing their jobs. No reminders to slow golfer to pick up the pace, or to let the more advanced golfer to play through. It is a “GRIND” playing this track.

Golf course is nice to play, the staff always seem to to find a way to throw a wrench in the process.

Treat everyone equally, with respect and for The love of Pete fix your raggedy dirty carts Forest acres West has clean amazing carts why can’t you ?!!!

Office staffs are nice, and range is perfect, but the guy in front for counting carts to enter decrease whole value of the golf course with rude attitudes and no explanations of basic policies for new golfers. It is 140% better to use 'Forest Akers West Golf Course' for 18 holes with cart.

Bought range card..loaded with multiple buckets and so far this year the buckets of golf balls are at best 50% decent practice balls. Balance are JUNK

Booked a tee time thru Groupon for a Monday morning, checked on it later in the day and it was saying "refunded". When I called the course, the manager said they could not do that rate and that was the end of it. You deal with third party companies for hot deals and it's not my fault that the price that was listed was wrong. You should honor what was displayed and what I purchased and then change it after. They say that they have no control over what Groupon or golf now sells but magically 15 minutes after I get of the phone with them, the tee times were only after noon on that day and the prices shot up. I live an hour and a half away and I would have not have known that the tee time was cancelled if I had not checked on it. Be aware trying to book a tee time at this course online.

The course is awesome. Plays well and full of honest people. I left my range finder and they returned it. Also the course was backed up and they gave us some free range balls

I wanted to add that the course wasn’t backed up due to management but because of frost on greens, something they can’t control. They handled it great. Will be returning for sure.

Great course. Awesome layout. Fairways were in great condition, could easily tell the difference between the fairway and rough. But people do not like to fix the divots on the greens. That's the reason for 4 stars. Would have to repair 4 divots per green. Fixing that many still left many left to be repaired. Would give 4 1/2 stars. Was awesome to see a family teaching their young daughter how to play. Overall was a great place to play.

Very disappointed I called Weds the 22nd at 6pm for a 10am tee time on Saturday the 25th, advised the gentlemen on the phone my son has his Youth On Course card, he said , great see you then. Walked up today, NO TEE TIME, and sorry there is nothing we can do. Oh and the youth card no longer excepted on wknds and after 2 on wkdays. Awesome! Won't be back, great communication!

Both Akers East and West are a pair of Mid Michigan's nicer coarse. They are both so well maintained the difference between the two is length and forgiveness.

The East coarse isn't as long but she is forgiving. Nice wide open fairways and good sized greens.

Both can still be walked with the East coarse a bit easier to do so.

Both of these coarses are fun to play the staff is very friendly. The areas bestv range is at the East coarse.

Nice course and practice area. The Saturday afternoon we played was way over booked. The pace was painful...it then turned into anger. As everyone knows you then play horrible. Hit a shot wait 20min and repeat the whole front nine. Where's the ranger when you need one. It was just my buddy and I and in front of us were a foursome with two kids and they played every shot every shot... You would think the two older guys would show some etiquette and allow us to play through. The back nine was better but our round already seemed ruined. Otherwise I do like the course. Should have played West.
