I’ve waited six months in to write a review and I am happy to say I’ve absolutely zero complaints during that time! The culture here is extremely good - nice members, helpful staff, and clean locker rooms and equipment. This is the only gym I’ve felt comfortable in the locker room - the sauna is so nice and the showers are great!

We have been members for more than 10 years now. My kids utilize the facility mostly for tennis now and the tennis program, facility, opportunities and coaches are excellent. Most recently the club helped tremendously collecting old bikes from its members and spreading the word so that these can be fixed and donated. The club staff is very co-operative. Thank you FAC.

The 40s called they want their equipment back. For what they charge, this place is ridiculously outdated. Every weight, machine, and bench is old and rickety. I was afraid the squat rack would fall apart if I used anything heavier than the bar.

The locker rooms are ever outdated as well and are carpeted for some reason? It smells like feet and the elderly so unless you have a rotting foot fetish you can skip the sauna and hot tub. There’s also a moderate sewage smell through the hot tub and shower area so do with that what you will. Overall this “gym” feels more like a downgraded planet fitness with a warm tub of smelly water labeled as a hot tub. Save your money and go to an actual gym.

I absolutely love the tennis courts and the classes. One of the instructors humiliated a different ethnicity (than himself) prospective customer walking by and I let the manager know indicating I was horrified and wanted this addressed as to me that is unacceptable at a time when we are looking to be inclusive. She allowed me to quit. I asked her to follow up with me and let me know how the conversation went with the person and I did not ever get a call back. Did not even know, if it was addressed.

Poor staffing here at this place. I believe the manager’s name is Lisa Brown and this women is rude to employees and does management poorly at this location. I came here one day and as I was exiting the gym I could overhear her speaking to the front desk employees. The location is very nice, every housekeeping staff member that I’ve run in to is VERY nice, the training coaches are amazing, and i would love to give a shout-out to the manager Lakisha. Every time i’ve came to this gym, she always has a smile on her face and is very helpful. She makes this place feel so welcoming.

I am so happy to be a member at Franklin Athletic Club. My company has graciously taken part in a corporate rate with them. Harrison is always so helpful and welcoming. Lisa did my assessment and she was knowledgeable and friendly. Stephanie is my personal trainer who has taught me so much and I am so glad to have her on my wellness journey. Love the community feel of this place! George's kickboxing classes are great too! All of the staff at the Club are just so kind. Been a member for a little over a month but I feel like I have been a member here for a lot longer.

This club is spotless, beautiful, has every piece of equipment you might need, including basketball courts, full track, dry sauna, steam sauna, whirlpool, pool, tennis courts, indoor outdoor, personal trainers and boxing available for addl charges. Franklin Sports Club provides physical therapy from DMC, certified massage therapist Jeff Watson (fabulous) after school programs, towel service, reserved lockers, fitness assessments
I haven’t thought of, or seen anything, that doesn’t impress me. And the price? Incredible.
Im picky and have been blessed enough and spoiled previously with a now closed private gym.

Great club for families. We were members at Lifetime for years but find that Franklin has more of a community vibe and is better for our kids. They have more activities/options for our 8-10 year olds, isn’t as crowded as LT, has great facilities, friendly staff and again feels more like the community gym rather than the corporate gyms in the area.

BEWARE: UNSNITARY AND UNPLEASANT with no refund when informed!

Firstly, I observed men clipping their toenails within the facility highly unhygienic and unsanitary. Nail clippings flying around the room did create an unpleasant and potentially hazardous environment for other members.

Additionally, I witnessed members spitting on the floor in the sauna which is both disrespectful and unhygienic. Saunas are meant to provide a relaxing and clean environment for members to enjoy, and spitting on the floor completely disregards the comfort and well-being of others. This behavior not only compromises cleanliness but also creates an unsanitary and unpleasant experience for everyone using the sauna.

Lastly, and on my last day (fed up) i witnessed a member touching their private parts and then touching the scale which is completely inappropriate and disrespectful. Fitness facilities should prioritize maintaining a safe and respectful atmosphere for all members. Such behavior not only violates personal boundaries but also shows a lack of consideration for others.

Kept charging me even after I left for months, even after I went to the office to take me off the membership, I called them like 10 times, I even left a note and they said we won’t charge your card and they still did. DO NOT get a membership here. I hope this business burns to the ground…upper management that works here is the worst. They should be fired, i run a business and will never employee people like this. I will keep posting about this all over the Internet. Care a bit about your customers, don’t screw them over by signing them up and charging their cards even after we have wanted to not be a member anymore.

Plus their gym doesn’t even have all the equipment you need, you can’t even do deadlifts here. Small Little gym they have, I only recommend to people who play tennis.

Very happy with my families membership to Franklin. The facility is clean and offers activities for everyone. My grandson attends the preschool and we could not be happier with the school and the staff. We will continue to enjoy the classes and events and are looking forward to another year at the club.

i enjoy this place, i take kickboxing and boxing classes with george, and it is fun because of his light heartedness and he is not like the other instructors, he starts late but ends late as well. the lockerooms are nice but things dont work sometimes. Wasn't the best experience for me. Sorry to say, but the service was bad. I ended my gym membership after an employee hung up the phone on me for requesting towels. Of course, he denied it when I reported the situation. This place service was very disappointing. I will not pay my money for services where you have to be extra nice to unhappy employees and staff who seem dissatisfied with their job. Some of the staff there had the dont bother me attitude. On a few occasions, I witnessed other gym members loitering with employees behind the welcome/ check-in desk. I don't know how much information employees can see when you check in, but it made me uncomfortable that gym members could possibly see my full name, address, and contact information. That made me very uncomfortable. The facility was nice, but this was not the gym for me. I was expecting better service and professionalism. It wasn't professional. They also ask you to sign a 12 month membership agreement with a $300 cancelation fee. I wouldn't recommend a gym with an annual contract. Also, it took them 45 minutes on my last visited to bring towels. After many members requested towels and were told multiple times that "the towels were on the way". I had showered expecting towels to be replaced by the time I finished. It took 45 minutes. I air-dried before the towels came. It was an unreasonable experience.

I registered my kids for one week of Summer Camp. A month before camp started I informed them that the children wouldn’t be able to attend, and requested a refund for the deposit I placed to hold their spot. Even though they won’t be attending, and there is a wait-list for that very week so another family is going to take and pay for their spot, they refused to give me a refund and sent a very curt, unprofessional response. Keeping a deposit to hold a spot, when that spot is going to be used and paid for by someone else? Then, weeks after canceling said registration my account was STILL charged the balance?! I love this place. The tennis programs here are some of the best in the area. 13 courts. Good instructors + classes + leagues. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who wants to play tennis casually or seriously.

Not so hot :
1. Court time is a touch on the pricey side even for members.
2. They could do a better job giving tennis members more “perks” than what they offer.
3. Jim (membership guy) is rude, aloof, forgetful, and not personable. He will only follow through if you’re going to buy a membership. He has weird hours even though he works normal house. Sometimes he won’t even show when you schedule a time to meet there. Avoid him.
4. Lisa is the best there. If you need anything, she gets it done and is VERY good at remembering names and soooo kind.

All that said, I still recommend this place to anyone who plays tennis or wants to be a part of a great community.

Franklin Athletic club is in a nice location with great parking space. The staff is super friendly and approachable. The gym and facilities is great too. We are mostly there for tennis. Great ambience, great coaches and great members. The only drawback i saw was the driving structure of parents. They will all line up in front of the main entrance and block the rest of the driving space for other cars coming and going. Club needs to do something about this.

I miss the old Franklin Athletic club. The old club was so kind and inviting and now I feel like the staff are rude and condescending. My son plays basketball while my daughters are in tennis and right when we walked in the front desk, a woman made a point to tell me he is not allowed on the courts. Mind you, for one year he has been doing this and making friends and shooting hoops and he’s had a blast. This Saturday, he sat in front of two empty basketball courts (not a single person on either one) holding his basketball and they would not even let him dribble. I understand it’s policy and when I spoke to the manager, he explained it’s because people are taking advantage but a little kid trying to shoot around for an hour waiting for his sisters? It seemed so harsh and my heart broke for my son who used to be so excited to come to Franklin.

I’ve been a long term member at Franklin’s. I really love this place! The classes are great, I especially love the spin class taught by Stephanie, she is so motivating! They offer “parent night out” evenings, which my daughter loves. Khati, one of the camp managers/gymnastic instructors is great with children! Dry and wet saunas inside the locker rooms have helped my health and complexion! They have an indoor and outdoor pool, both are nice and warm, no freeze when you get in. And last but not least, the general manager Crystal is AMAZING! She is a great listener, problem-solver, people-person, and all around great person! Honestly I’m not sure where Franklin’s would be without this woman! It’s a great place to join, don’t hesitate!

For women looking for spa amenities, this is not the place. The women's whirlpool, sauna and steamroom were closed for over 6 months. After recently opening back up, the whirlpool is now closed again only after working at full capacity for only a week. I've tried speaking with the manager, Crystal about this multiple times to only be ignored. It's interesting how once you become a paying member, your concerns are no longer valued.

I started taking tennis lessons with Katie Blumberg summer of 2021. She is absolutely amazing! I have been playing since I was a child, I wish Katie could have been my coach from the beginning. She has a savant understanding of game strategy. And she pushes each player to advance and compete and make tennis part of their life. She is absolutely outstanding! I will never join another gym again. The sales manager lied to me and my sister when signing up, telling us we were signing a 12 month contract that could be canceled with 60 days notice.
