Go M.A.D. in Milan is the best place around! I joined there, even though I live in Ann Arbor & there are places all around me! It is not just a gym, it is a fitness family! All of the classes are included in the membership and you cannot beat the price! If I could leave zero stars I would!! My son was mislead on a membership not being told about cancelation fees or fees incurred if payment stops. He was led to believe it was month to month cancel at anytime. Fast forward six months a collection was sent for $889.00 not including the 300$ cancelation fee!!!! No messages, emails or mail sent about it going past due or collections until this letter was sent from an attorney. I called and spoke to the manager Noel she stated they used a third party for their billing and collections. She stated there was nothing she could do! Shame on them for preying on the young and ruining someone's credit score for their benefit. He used the gym 2 times and is now being charged almost 900$ This is absolutely unacceptable and flat out disappointing! Company's who have no regard for anyone except filling their pockets is disgusting! SHAME ON YOU GO MAD... No referrals will ever be sent from me or anyone I know!

This is really the only traditional gym in the Milan area and has the essentials to get a great workout. Drawbacks are that the location is quite small so it can be hard to follow a program or regimen when it gets busy. Regular classes are held at the location which always seem fun although I haven’t attended myself.

Some of the equipment is outdated and a little worn down so it could definitely use an update, but it is functional and gets the job done.

Went in today, March 8th, to cancel my account. I get billed the 1st of every month, but I guess it’s required to give a 30 day cancellation notice so now I’m going to get billed for the month of April when I won’t even be using it.

On top of that the amount of people they have working out in ratio to the amount of equipment that have is not up to par. Machines are constantly broken with repair dates weeks out.

Great customer service, but overall unacceptable. Won’t be a returning customer. Time to check out Planet Fitness I guess.

Not customer friendly! They have a third party to administer their payments, and when our debit card expired they added $490 to our bill for "escalated fees and charges" when a simple phone call or email to remind us could have fixed the issue. We were then told it was out of the managers hands, and she couldn't do anything to fix it. Beware of the $100 they charge to cancel your membership, and read the contract thoroughly before you sign. I regret doing so for a tiny little gym with few amenities and bad service. Milan is a small town, and a little courtesy goes a long way.

Great little gym. I was visiting from Toronto and needed a place to workout. I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable the day passes were and how friendly the staff are. It's a small gym but they have all the equipment one would need for a good workout. Thanks M.A.D fitness team.

The worst gym in the area, weight plates are missing chunks or centers and most machines are broken, they charge you for 2 months after you cancel, they spam you with texts and they charge you 20 dollars for the privilege of getting into the building, they also charge an additional yearly fee, find another gym that doesn't try to rob their customers

The equipment leads me to believe that their success is driven by a lack of competition. It’s overall geared after getting new members. Not after providing equipment for people who really are into lifting

Lifting here will help you achieve excellent grip strength due to the fact that the barbells have no worthy knurling. Always check the end bolts as they’re often sticking out. The bushings are clapped out so expect sloppy rotation of the ends

Most of the plates are in super poor condition. They’re the rubber coated type but don’t get excited they’re not the good bumper type which are good for deadlifting. Sometimes I’ll notice the steel rings sliding out from the inside as well as many of them have big chunks missing.

The preacher curl bench vinyl needs to be replaced which is really gross because I can only imagine how much it soaks up. -Edit: replaced

The cable handles are super tired and need to be replaced.
Edit: I asked for replacement because they were about to bust and they actually got a really smooth set in. Very nice

All of this would be fine for a garage gym... but it’s a business. I have the expectation of at least adequate equipment. Members shouldn’t have to sort through the broken plates to get a complete one.

I’m assuming the layout was drawn up with a crayon. The space behind the front desk is huge which for the life of me I cannot understand. There’s tons of space back there with tables and chairs. Members are never back there, and there’s typically only one staff member ever working at a time. That space could’ve been used to expand the small section dedicated to free weights. Maybe a deadlift platform, because there is a lot of members that enjoy that style of lifting. Let’s also assume that the crayon was eaten afterwards

The bathrooms get pretty gross, but that’s to be expected at a gym that stays open 24 hrs. I really wish the members chose not to shave there. It’s pretty nasty having hair everywhere in the sinks. Again, that’s on the members, not the staff

On a positive note like said before they’re open 24 hours. Also, although their employee turn over seems to be pretty high, they have all been very friendly. My brother pays the same amount at powerhouse in Ypsi. Convenience is barely keeping me here.

Also, for paired accounts, I was supposed to receive a lower monthly fee when my girlfriend joined. But that never happened. I was also supposed to receive a free t shirt, which I didn’t. It’s a shame because I could’ve used a new garage rag

I have been attending this place for about 6 months and I have noticed that the owner of this establishment has no intentions of investing in to this business. When asked for new equipment even small things I have been told for more money I can drive 30 miles to one of the other gyms that have all of the equipment. Needless to say I am not impressed.
