First Desiree is absolutely amazing. There is nothing she could have done that would have made this event even more amazing. The wait staff and bartenders were also fantastic. My only suggestion would be to train the wait staff to leave desserts on the guest tables longer. Many people had their desserts taken while they were at the Photo Booth or dance floor. The event space is beautiful. A couple minor things you could consider; some of the seat covers are quite stained as well as a few of the toilets. I realize the toilets are probably stained from well water, but it is unexpected when the event space is so beautiful.

I booked 18 holes on golf now this morning. Beautiful morning, perfect day for golfing. Got there and had to listen to obnoxious leaf blowers and lawn mower at every hole until we were on the 12th hole. FINALLY they all stopped and we had some peace and quiet. I dont like to complain until its necessary, and I feel this was necessary. At one hole I had three lawn mowers and an obnoxious leaf blower while im trying to tee off. Again, 12 holes off this nonsense until we finally got some peace and quiet. Definitely not going to spend $80 there again to be pissed off. Won't be back!

I like this course. Has several interesting holes, some fairways you can spray it, some are narrow. Both times I have played it the pace of play was wonderful. The two finishing holes are wonderful with a long par 4 17th and a reachable in 2 par 5 18th. Some of the greens were really chopped up, lots of people not fixing ball marks. 10th hole is the only one I really have an issue with. With the reeds growing, it's a blind tee shot and hard to figure out where the group ahead of you is. Then basically a blind approach shot over the reeds unless you are on the far left sliver of fairway. Overall nice course and we have been treated well both times we've been there. Great senior rate as well.

Golden Hawk made our wedding day truly special.

The ceremony was absolutely perfect. There was a chance of rain, but the team handled it so well. They timed everything perfectly and helped us decide between having the ceremony indoors or outdoors.
The reception was fantastic! Our guests still talk about how amazing the food was. The servers and bartenders went above and beyond to keep everyone happy and taken care of.

Overall, Golden Hawk did a wonderful job from start to finish. We would 100% recommend hosting your special day with them!

We recently hosted our child’s hockey team golf outing fundraiser at this course, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible experience. From start to finish, the staff was accommodating, professional, and welcoming—especially given that we were a pretty rowdy bunch!

The course was in decent shape considering all the crazy weather lately, but the pace of play was ridiculously slow. Some people need to learn the gold etiquette regarding letting people play thru when your abilities cause backups. There is no disgrace allowing faster players to play thru. The disgrace comes when you hold up numerous groups behind you. This is when having rangers would be useful.

Course was nice, couple fast Greens, couple slow greens, didn't seem over booked. Only big complaint was the Geriatric Jerry who worked the pro shop.. I was 8 minutes early for my tee time instead of 15.. he lectured us about being a full 15 minutes early. Then made sure we knew we had to take our receipt to return our cart.. then Noone was taking back carts so we returned the key and receipt to Geriatric Jerry(don't know his real name) he made sure to let us know we shouldn't have brought it back.. I golf twice a year, I can't control traffic to always be perfect 15 minutes if there's an accident or a light out after a storm.. somebody let him know to chill out.. he is the only reason I won't be back. Rest of the staff was friendly, personable, and kind.

We had our bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, and reception at Golden Hawk. If I could give them 100000 stars, I would. My husband and I had the most perfect experience with Golden Hawk. The staff is so sweet and accommodating. Macy is a stellar human being. She has helped us every step of the way. She is always very attentive and so kind. She is very knowledgeable in her role and was born to be an event planner. Every event we’ve had here was perfect and went off without a hitch. The food is amazing and the venue is just gorgeous. I cannot say enough good things about Golden Hawk. I absolutely love it there and would absolutely have another event there in the future. We have also golfed here and the course is beautiful. Pretty nice course! Not to easy, not to hard, greens are nice, the fairways need a little work (they were working on it) but the majority is nice. Staff was very friendly. One thing I will note, I was the first out this day and noticed that all the trash bins were not cleaned out from the night before. Not a huge deal but almost all had been tipped over by wildlife and left a mess at each hole. But will definitely play again, the course is pretty!

Fairways are in pretty good shape, tee boxes felt like concrete even after a rainy day. Truly believe the greens have never been aerated at all this summer, which led to a putting experience worse than astroturf carpet. Apart from that we arrived 30 minutes early to an empty tee box just to be asked to wait by the starter. After we were put behind a group who arrived late and we did not hit a single shot the entire round without waiting 5+ minutes for them. The round took over 6 and a half hours and we were paired with a random. The pace of play paired with the course upkeep, for over 60 dollars, this is a course I would not be excited to play again, although the design and general beauty is very nice.

They constantly overbook. We rolled up for a 10:28 tee time ended up teeing off at 11:10. Same thing happened last time we played here. None of the bunkers have drainage so they are always filled with water. Otherwise it’s a fun course.

We had my daughters bridal shower here this past weekend. Macy and her staff did such a great job! They helped us create the setting we were looking for. The patio was absolutely gorgeous, and even when we had a tiny seating issue- they were quick to bring out another table and chairs. We got married at Golden Hawk Golf Course over the weekend. It was amazing and everything we hoped for. We got so many compliments from our guests about how pretty the venue is and how good the food was. Additionally, there are so many different settings for beautiful picture opportunities. The staff was beyond helpful, prompt, and accommodating. This made such a difference. It really made the day go so seamless and stress free for us. Everything was taken care of and we did not have to worry about anything.

The WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever dealt with in a professional setting. If I could give a lower rating I would. I have played this course as an individual and with a league, the maintenance on the greens, sand traps and tee boxes have been poor. The greens are in poor shape, the sand traps are either full of water and mud or hard as concrete, and the tee boxes are terrible.
Before this year’s league I paid in full for the 18 week league. I knew I may miss the first two weeks, but that was ok we had subs for those weeks. I found out week two I can’t golf this season because I have a fracture in my lower spine and the disc in my middle back are damaged. I informed Monique of this on week two. I have to have an 8 hr surgery to try and fix my back. The doctor has informed me I may never be able to golf again. At minimum it will be a year or so before I know if I can ever play again.
I explained this to Monique Lynch the General manager on week two. She said she understood and would talk to Edward Maciejewski “ not sure of his title. I was NEVER CALLED BACK by Monique ever. I had to go back to catch her at work. To date I have been told I would only be getting an in house gift card. Because I may not be able to play, this is unacceptable. I will be filing court to get my money back.

We golfed 18 and ran into some challenging holes and some long fives. The views were nice and the greens were well kept.

Played 18 holes today at Golden Hawk. The pro shop staff was friendly and polite. The starter was upbeat and informative. The tees were in great shape as were the fairways and greens. The greens were very nicely cut and free from excess clippings, which can be annoying. Cups were set expertly and positioning made the course challenging. One constructive criticism is that the bunkers needed to be raked first thing in the morning as there was a heavy dew that compacted the sand
All in all the course lived up to the promise of a great day of golfing. Keep up the good work and I'll definitely will be back.

My fiance and I absolutely loved this venue, not only for the beautiful setting but for the convenience of providing multiple services through them (outdoor ceremony, reception, open bar, and catering). It just took our breath away how lovely the reception space was without being overwhelming, with its simple but elegant decor and high ceiling and chandelier. It was perfect for our wedding size, since total capacity of the hall was ~ 230-250 people and we had ~ 120 guests, so it was roomy and pleasant for everyone who attended. And the outdoor ceremony area was also perfect, and the trees helped shade the guests for the day and overall kept the temperature cool (weather was supposed to be over 80 degrees that day but it actually felt very comfortable!). The golf course was beautiful to take pictures at, and my photographer and the venue manager Monique collaborated to have us take photos in several scenic areas.
Monique directly took care of us during the reception, and I wanted to mention a small detail I noticed. I had originally asked for a certain beer at the reception but it was not possible, since the beer did not come in a keg. So we chose a different beer and were understanding, but I noticed that during the wedding, Monique was making sure we had drinks and was constantly supplying my husband with cans of the beer we had originally requested :) He even told me that when he approached the bar for drinks during reception, the bartenders also offered him that original brand of beer as well. I appreciated this gesture from the staff, trying to accommodate us as best as they could. It made me smile to see how caring and attentive they were.
The food was also delicious, and served in courses. I like having the variety (duet-plated) meals, and the appetizers were a huge hit (they ran out by the time we came back from our Romantics session, but of course found some for us as the bride and groom when we asked). I loved the overall design of the reception space too, perfect for DJ, our sweetheart table, and the guests framing the large dance floor. The temperature was perfectly controlled in the reception hall too, kept cool to keep all the guests comfortable even while we danced and made merry!

Where do I start? Came for the Friday Fish Fry, the walleye was greasy, not properly fileted, just a big thick hunk of fish with bones! 😝. $16.00 for 1 piece of fish, undercooked fries and a miniscule portion of cole slaw. I called this morning at 8:54AM to see if there was a tee time after 4 pm. I was told a flat "NO", almost as if I was an inconvenience. From a customer service standpoint, this is not acceptable. Imagine calling in excited about the nice day, saying "Hello - I'm wondering if you have any tee times after 4pm today? Then, firm "NO", end. Maybe, suggest openings you do have? Are there any Saturday? Sunday? a cancel list? Nice course, I have played it quite a few times, but this call was rude and lacked a willingness to help and accomodate a customer.

Golden Hawk used to be one of my favorite local courses. Not anymore! I've been golfing for years and don't claim to understand course management. The greens were aerated and sanded. I get it, normal for this time of the year. There was so much sand that people were leaving notes!! And, they took the aerating scraps and tossed then into the rough around the greens and in the traps. I've never seen that before. My golf buddies and I are writing Vargo managed courses off our list.

Golden Hawk Golf Course in Casco Twp is a 18 Hole Par 71 course that is 6202 yards from the tips. It features a few holes with water and some with marsh areas. Ball positioning is key on many holes here to have a good sight of the green. Being on the wrong side of the fairway will have you laying up to see the green with the trees.

Overall the course was good shape. The greens had lots of unkept ball marks thanks to ignorant golfers who don't fix their pitch marks. There was only 1 green that had actual bad spots on it because of shade causing mold to grow on it.

At $35 for 18 with a cart it's a solid price for a decent round.

The only downside is they stack tee times really tight together and will send people off the back 9 causing you to back log and prolong your round. Other than that I'd recommend checking it out.

My best friend was married here recently. The venue was gorgeous and the food was good too, nothing to complain about there.

However, we had nothing but problems with Monique. From her telling the bride things looked funny (basically not up to Monique’s standards) to getting an attitude with the bride on how to have the bridal party walk down the aisle- when the bride wanted things done a different way. She was lacking in communication and professionalism. Had a very rude demeanor.
The only prompt thing she was good at- was cleaning up before the night ended and getting us out of the venue.

The green parts of this course are beautiful, it's a shame the cart paths and sand traps are in such horrible condition.
The cart paths hold enough water after it rains to create mini ponds that swallow golf balls. The potholes will bounced you around so hard it actually hurts my back.
The sand traps are packed hard and full of small stones that can damage clubs.
These two problems turn this course into a nightmare.
This course gets 3 stars because the fairways and the greens are well maintained and play very well.

08/2022 Update...
This year Golden Hawk has gone through a resurrection. Compared to the last two years this is a different course. The greens are in MUCH better condition and are on track to be even better next year!
Lots of work has gone into repairing drainage, irrigation and the cart paths. The cart paths have had major maintenance and while a few low areas remain the paths are now a passable B+. My back no longer hurts after a round of golf.
This course is definitely improving everyday. Good job to the maintenance crew!
Overall a great golf course! This course has the quite a few sand traps. Unfortunately that means higher maintenance costs and as such the traps have suffered and continue to suffer. When the sand traps get sand again this course will earn 5 stars.

The staff is nice and friendly.
The course on the other hand is in rough shape and has been all season. They overbook on weekends never starting on time - this has been the same for the past few years.
Golden Hawk has a weird shotgun every week that starts on holes 7,8,9 so they all can end at the same time not taking in consideration of the golfers that are on the course already and have to end their round or go to other holes and ruin your round.
The range never has golf balls and the "range balls" are all cut up and extremely old. You hit off older mats or grass that has divots everywhere, you cant get a comfortable stance. The range "targets" are just some flags in middle of a field without any true greens to aim at.
The sand bunkers have little to no sand in them, your either hitting off cement or out of standing water. The sand that is in the bunker is full of rocks that will ruin your club if you dont move ball out of trap.
The cart paths are all gravel and do not get graded often. Many potholes and standing water that you need to dodge.
The greens are inconstant speeds due to the lack of feralization. Super slow and many of the greens have turf damage that you need to putt through which makes the putt impossible.

The manager is rude. I think they forgot they are in the customer service business. Two weeks ago they legit made us have the carts in at 5. The sun didn’t even set until 615. I played another course two days later and carts didn’t have to be returned until 630. Also the range balls are horrible, 1/3 of the balls were cracked or spilt. It’s sad they are running this course into the ground

For the last two seasons, (2020/2021), I have played this course 2-3 times a week. In which, you would think that they would be very welcoming, and intrigued to have a "regular" that continues to come back. Unfortunately, the "manager" or so he claims, is going to continue to lose business, if he continues to not want his customers to golf. I hate to say this but, 80 percent of the time, it almost seems like he wants to tell you anything to leave and play a different course. This course is the closest one to my house and has so much potential to be great. The upkeep of the course is a totally different story and I wish this was a review that just pertained to that. Unfortunately, the customer service when calling to set up tee times, asking general questions, getting range balls, or even simply utilizing the chipping practice area is almost to the point that I do not want to return. Lastly, the manager must love to use his authority against others, that simply want to play a nice round and spend money, tip well, which in turn would equal repeat customers. Not to mention, I am a very understanding, personable person, that abides by all course rules, and believes in good golf etiquette. The only way any of this would remotely make sense, would be if I had mad a previous bad impression, which would have never taken place. Truthfully, over the summer, a few different cart kids that were working in the shop (young kids), understood customer service more so than the manager, and helped the customers in numerous ways. With the history I have with this course, it honestly saddens me, having to make a negative review like this, the moral of the story is that, in my opinion, the owner needs to re evaluate who he is putting in positions of power, and golden hawk can continue to be the gem of a golf course that we all know and love!

I lost a club at the course on Friday, July 30th...have called several times to find out if anyone turned in my club....several days later and I still have not received a response from the course...how rude of them not to at least acknowledge my call and request.

Tee boxes not cut. What was cut markers were left on the side. Greens were not cut, bumpy, bushy slow on some, fast on others. Impossible to gauge speed due to the inconsistency. Fairways at dirt patches on them. Course was in generally bad shape. They should have paid us to play there.

Not sure if its because its only mid May or because of covid or lack of workers but the tee boxes were brutal, looked like they haven’t been cut in days, weeds everywhere, some of the greens were in really bad shape, ball marks everywhere and it was a 720 tee time, course was soaked and it hadn’t even rained that much, bunkers were um not really bunkers and not ideal to hit out of...i used to enjoy this course, but if this is the standard now i wont be back, I’m just glad the price wasn’t astronomical, my only saving grace, could be a really nice course if maintained properly

Booked the 645am tee time for 3 @ $42 a piece. We were supposed to be 2nd off. We waited till 710 to tee off. What’s the point of an early tee time ? Course was in awful shape bunkers were cement. Also to pay that much for a round that had a make shift green spay painted in the fairway is insane. Used to love this place but someone stopped caring

Booked through GolfNow - ended up booking for a Friday afternoon instead of Sunday on accident (my fault). I contacted GolfNow to see if I could get any form of credit, and they said that they could 3-way call and contact the course to see if they could do anything. I wasn’t expecting a refund or rain check, but made it clear I still wanted to golf Sunday and that I’d be super appreciative of any kind of leeway in pricing since I had already paid for a round that went unused, otherwise I wasn’t going to be able to afford to go this week after eating the fees of an unused round for 3 people.

Hearing a “no” would have been fine, but the younger sounding man that answered the phone was rude, unapologetic, seemed to be appalled that he even had to take such a phone call, and kept repeating “since it was online there was nothing he could do and didn’t have seniority” (me booking online didn’t mean there wasn’t something that could be done on what I would pay for Sunday after rebooking, nor offered to ask anyone that could make such decision). He kept rambling on excuse after excuse sounding more and more rude when a simple “no, I’m sorry, that’s our policy” would have sufficed if he wasn’t willing to help. The icing on the cake was that after his incessant rambling, he didn’t know how to professionally (or just being a normal human) get off the phone. So there was a ten second pause of nothing before an enthusiastic “sooooooo yeah, have good day!” Click. Which sounded so out of place and like a slap in the face.

The course wasn’t my favorite to begin with, but I’d look to book there because a golfer of my (lack of) skill level would rather play where I can find deals and cheaper golf, which Golden Hawk has offered. But after the way I was treated on the phone, I won’t be back.

Course was in ok/decent shape. Service was lacking. First had a 2:08 tee time, but carts were running behind, then was forgotten about while waiting for a cart, and finally teed off at about 2:50. Also was told the drink cart was running, but never saw it thru any of my 18 holes. Didn't seemed staffed well enough for such a busy day.

Very disappointed. We had golfed there weekly for wuite a few years. Had not been back the last 5 or 6 years. Don't know what happened but most tees are in terrible shape. No grass. Mostly bare spots. Many green have good portions with large bare spots. Old ball marks are now small holes throughout the green. Actually love the course layout and its a fun course to play. But apparently neglected for the last few years.

Were quoted $28.00 on the phone upon booking for senior rates, but charged $30.00. Stopped playing this course 5 years ago because it was so neglected and it has only gotten worse. Wow. Can't remember the last time I played a course in such poor condition. Had to wait past my tee time to get a cart. The cart paths have moon craters that's realign your spine. The course is not well maintained. This was worse than disappointing. Yuck.

Jessica did an amazing job helping me resolve an issue with an event that was planned but unable to happen due to being shutdown because of Covid. We had other events at the banquet center previously and loved the venue, food and service we had received. I was happy she was able to accommodate a resolution for this and I look forward to future events there and great dining experiences at their restaurant. Wow! As someone who worked at multiple banquet halls in college I could not have imagined how amazing Monique and the staff at Golden Hawk could be. From setting up the tables perfectly to making sure I as the bride had everything I needed. The hall, wedding venue and golf course are beautiful. The staff is AMAZING and they made our wedding magical. This is the place to go if you want to have a beautiful, stress free wedding (minus the Michigan weather) Golden Hawk made my wedding perfect.

We had our wedding at this venue and it was perfect! From the moment we walked in to tour the venue (before booking), to the night of, Monique was responsive, honest, and approachable. She was easy to contact via text or email and was willing to do what she could to make us happy. We saw a few other venues before and were told "no" a lot. Monique heard us out and made it happen! The course is beautiful, the reception room is very open and roomy, the covered patio was perfect for a late summer night. The food was average banquet food but partially my fault since pictures ran late. All of our guests have had nothing but good things to say about the venue, food, and drinks! There is nothing more I could have asked for. Lastly, the price is unbeatable! It's a win all around.

Attended a wedding for one of my best friends and the venue was gorgeous. The golf club is very scenic and well taken care of with lots of great spots for photos. The food was average but fresh. The reason I’m giving only 2 stars is because of the Manager named Monica that I witnessed multiple times being beyond rude to the guests, swearing at the staff and even the brides mother. I’m not quite sure what her deal was but there’s a way to talk to people and this is not how it is. I would not book any event here simply because of her. She’s a two star manager at a five star venue Hopefully she can get some customer service training because it’s a huge negative to what could be a great venue for any event.

Layout is fine..
Nothing being done to improve conditioning, except adding stumps, about 20. If you remove trees to open the course up, remove the stumps also. Then plant some grass where you leveled the stump area. It would be looking so much better!!

Great course. Well kept up and dry. Reason why I am giving it 3 stars is because they should not be selling tee times with a womens league on the course. That being said I was sold a 8:18 tee time and was told to start on the back 9 because the women are teeing on the front 9 first. Me and a buddy shot the back 9, stopped at the clubhouse for a piss and a snack, and then teed off on the front nine. We caught the ladies at hole 5 and had to leave. When we tried to pass them they would not let us stating that they were in a league and that they were golfing. Half of them were walking and each shot with about 10 feet. We ended up leaving unable to shoot holes 6 7 8 or 9 because we did not want to be there for hours watching each shot go 10 feet. Long story short DO NOT SELL TEE TIMES WITH A 80 YEAR OLD + WOMENS LEAGUE OUT THERE

This Course is in very good shape, the layout is fair and greens run true. They offer carts, drink coolers, tee times, banquet facilities, pro shop, snack cart, and a great day of golf. You can typically get on the course without a tee time unless there is an outing. I would definitely recommend this course for all levels of golfers. It may be a little tough for beginners or high handicappers.

One of my favorite tracks. Want to play a course that has enough water to make you sweat with errant shots, a course for those who don't have the length of a pro, this place is for you. A scorers dream. Don't let the length fool ya--the greens are sloped/undulating enough to be a fun yet very challenging. Course is always in fine shape. The staff are courteous & friendly. I like the fact that their practice facility has a bunker, and a chipping green that is sloped/slightly elevated to practice side hill chips. And the fact that I can enjoy that cold one OUTSIDE also adds to why it's among my favorite golf courses.
