This place has been nothing short of amazing to my 5 year old autistic and non-verbal son. Even when he has bad days they treat him with such patience and kindness. I wouldn’t recommend not using this facility for your child. They do not do a good job with explaining their policies and they will overcharge you, Then they’ll get smart with you and say it’s in our policy, you were given the policies when you signed up so you definitely need to look at the fine print. They also do automatic payments from your account and NO REFUNDS. They also have a 30 day cancellation policy so you can’t just get out of the contract right away have to pay for another month before it ends. Hope this helps with making your decision. Read the contract and asks lots of questions about make up days and going into the next month.

My kids have done a few different sports programs, and being apart of Goldfish is by far my favorite. Especially from a busy parenting schedule standpoint, unlike other sports & swim programs, you get still get the days you pay for, even if you have to miss a class. I love how easy it is to call in an absence and get put back on the schedule for a day that works better that week. The staff here in Canton are so helpful with finding openings that work best for you and your child.
We've had a few different instructors as my daughter moves up, and we adore them all.
Ms. Neely is such a welcoming face at the front desk, and Ms. Mckenzie is an absolute pro at keeping things moving smoothly for everyone, her customer skills are phenomenal.
We're so thankful to have found Goldfish for this fearless little daredevil. 😊

Clean facilities. Caring engaged staff. I’ve seen a huge improvement in my son‘s skills and confidence. I love that the pool is heated, makes for a comfortable experience.. They really care and listen. My son was so nervous for his first solo class without me in the pool with him and they heard me tell him if he was brave, I would let him get the bubbles stuffed animal that he had talked about wanting. During his first solo class, they told me they overheard my promiseand said he could have it free of charge! 😮🥰.

However, I am still being held accountable for an additional month's payment, which I believe is unfair. At the end of the day, my son's opinion (the student) is the only one that matters. He says he wishes he had started with Goldfish sooner. He likes the coaches and learns a lot more now than before. I can’t say thank you enough to the staff and especially the manager, Sadik Taha. My littlest was scared to begin swim lessons and was having a hard time and Mr. Taha noticed and spent one on one time making sure he was comfortable and my son was able to end his lesson with a smile.

He also saved my middle son’s life! My son had jumped into the water thinking he could touch during an open swim night and panicked when he realized he couldn’t. Mr. Taha acted without hesitation jumping in to rescue my child. I can’t say, “thank you,” enough!

My five-year-old daughter has been attending swim classes for almost a year now. We initially put her in classes because we wanted the confidence of knowing she would be safe around water. I am blown away by the progress she has made. The instructors are fantastic, and they seem to know just how to explain things so that children can understand how to grow in the skill. My daughter has a skill level that far surpasses my own now, and her love for swimming has grown exponentially during this time. Her current instructor, Donovan, is absolutely amazing, and we look forward to every lesson. After visiting other swim schools, including the Ann Arbor location of Goldfish, we have found this Canton location to have far superior facilities, instructors, and teaching techniques.

This place truly brings out the swimming potential in each kid. My daughter has been going since she was 18m or so. Initially cried when her head got wet.. She’s now 4 and is a confident and competent swimmer. She loves her lessons and maintains a smile throughout. It’s like her instructor Donovan understands how children learn and keeps them engaged while still having fun. He seems to enjoy his job and the kids pick up on this. My daughter stays focused on the lesson and follows instruction where she doesn’t when she’s in the pool with me. They are also patient with kids not open to the water until they adjust. It’s pricey but def worth the money if you want your child to know how to swim.

The instructors here are very nice. My daughter has been attending since February this year and she loves it. I like that the classes are small so each student can have one on one attention while still keeping an eye on the other students. Also I like that the class time is just 30 minutes so it's not overwhelming for the kids especially ones that are new to swimming like my daughter was and the instructors are patient which is awesome for the ones who maybe a little apprehensive about getting in the water

The teachers here are top-notch. My exuberant 7-year-old especially LOVED Donovan and Rilee, who understood how to work with a kid like her. She went from doggie paddle to butterfly strokes in once-per-week classes over a 6-month span.

I recommend doing very early lessons (at less than one year) and then again when your child clearly wants to learn.

The policies for makeup classes are very reasonable and easy to schedule. The changing rooms are well-laid out and clean. The pool water is always a concern for me since I’m sensitive to breathing chloramine, but I never had a problem there.

The only recommendation I’d make to the school/parents is that there needs to be increased emphasis on teaching water safety for outside of the swim school. My confident kid once tried to go in the deeper water with another kid (who can’t swim) on her back because she didn’t understand the limits of her buoyancy or lifeguarding principles…

Both of my children enjoy their time with their respective instructors. Jibreel works patiently with my autistic child, pushing him to complete tasks within his means, but still providing the additional support he needs. Jenna works enthusiastically with my son that is new to swimming and is thoughtful to incorporate his interests into his sessions. Overall, we are pleased with lessons thus far!

The staff is so incredibly friendly and helpful. They go the extra mile to make sure that my child is safe and happy. They also care about me and how I'm trying to be a parent, for example last week... I was just completely absent minded and showed up 30mins after my designated class, for whatever reason I saved the time wrong in my calendar...staff went to the front desk to see if anyone was available and not even a minute goes by a young man jumped in the pool positive attitude, and had no problem filling in for my error, it was loud but I want to say his name was Brian. Charlie was having a really good day, I wanted to capture pictures but stay out of sight to not upset him, staff came and offered to take my phone and take a few pictures for me... I'm telling you that meant the world to me. I did not want my child to miss class because of my mistake and I want him to enjoy class and I appreciate capturing memories for me. Beside that the dressing rooms are always clean and the sign flipping for clean and dirty is easy to use. In between class someone comes and sprays the chairs. You guys are doing great.

We had had a great experience with swim class until making the decision to cancel. I e-mailed and was told I would have to go in to fill out a form. The next week, I picked up the form and took it home. My fiancée took our daughter the next week and was told they weren’t supposed to be there (halfway through class in front of an upset 2 year old). They had no record of us cancelling (because we hadn’t yet), but they took her off the list. He was told we could either choose a different day or be done.

Can only have one parent there due to corona virus. But at the same time they have four kids per one lane. If you look at there photo on google they show 2 children per lane. But during covid 19 they have 4. It's not the precautions towards the parents I'm worried about. It's the non precaution for my child. Maybe they are following the rules for how many people occupy their pool but also cut they pool in half for infants. And cramming the rest of their students next to each other. The lanes are 3 ft wide with 4 children sitting right next to each other. Other then that the instructors are great with the kids.

My kids started Goldfish roughly 6 weeks ago, my younger one is in Glider 1, his teacher is Mr. Donovan and we absolutely love him. He is so good to my son, very patient, very encouraging. My son had an accident in the pool (spit up) and Donovan was so understanding and kind, esp to me because I was feeling so guilty. My elder one is in Junior 1 and has a new teacher Mr. Dominique, and he is very nice too. We loved Madison, and Mr. Dominique is really nice too. My elder one is hesitant to get in water at first and his teacher is always so patient and encourages him constantly and eventually gets him going in the water. We love the staff at Goldfish. Every one is very helpful and super nice!

I was so nervous when he started, but the staff were very supportive and positive as they gave me a tour on his first day. This place is amazing. It's a nice facility with a great pool and program. But the reason we come here is the instructors. Every last instructor is absolutely incredible. They are energetic, compassionate and thoughtful. As our children progressed we would be disappointed to see them leaving their I instructo only to find the next one equally wonderful.
