We take both our kids here. After a bad experience at another swimming school and getting rejected from another with one of our kids who’s on the spectrum, the folks at Goldfish has now set the bar for what a great swimming school should be for kids - and especially for their golden learner program (for kids with special needs).

The team was willing to try and be patient with him, and now he had a blast at the pool! And with our other son, he has made such great progress because of the phenomenal trainers!

From the atmosphere, to the reception staff, the trainers, the pools - everything has been top notch. I highly recommend this swimming school. A+++

The best instructors! Safe. Clean. Well maintained. Welcoming. Always listening to parents concern for their children's individual needs. We've been them since 2016. We left for a short bit because our commute became very long after our move. We tried somewhere near our new house and there is no comparison to Goldfish so we returned to them!

Goldfish has been so good to my family. I have twin two year olds and we started in parent assisted mini 2. Now we are in mini 3 and I am seeing my kids jump in the water alone and kick/pull.

Some things I like about goldfish vs a community center where I have been before:
- the water is super warm!
- I think there is no less than 10 staff there at once. My kids always have eyes on them and I feel super safe
-makeup tokens are given if you miss a class for any reason at all.
-when we moved up to mini 3, my kids had a difficult time adjusting. This is very hard as a parent to see but they had so many staff members and the manager doing their best. A couple classes later and they are very happy again.
- open swim is so much fun. They put tons of toys in the water including mats, a boat, balls, and so much more
- family changing rooms are great for multiple kids

I really am glad we chose here for our kids. The instructors are so amazing. Just to name a few my kids love: Lucy, Shane, kale, and Braelyn.

I look forward to seeing them grow and their swim skills expand as we continue here

My daughter is currently a student here. I started with two weeks of the jump start clinic at 3.5 and then switched to weekly classes. We are so proud of her growth. At 4 she is swimming the length of the pool. This school has been amazing and I would recommend it to any and all parents looking to grow their children's swimming skills. I feel so much safer having her in the pool this summer than I would've otherwise! These are skills she will carry with her for the rest of her life. It has been well worth the money!

We started swim school with both of my kids (Ages 7 & 4) Being in a pool less than a handful of times. After two lessons they could both “swim”, and more importantly, they we’re both comfortable and excited to be in a pool! The complex is very clean and decorated adorably. We kept trying to get our kids signed up but the communication (or lack there of) with this location is awful. Spent all week communicating via text with them. Chose the classes for both of our kids, then the person texting me said they called and left me a voicemail to secure payment. I told them I had no call nor voicemail. Then they asked if they could call to finalize it the next day and I said yes. They never called again.

Fast forward to 2 days later… I called the school multiple times and left a voicemail. Nothing. Called again the next day. Nothing. Never even received a call back from the initial voicemail nor the messages.

I guess they just really don’t want any business there. Glad there are other swim schools nearby.

Our experience here was great! The areas were always clean. The staff was always friendly. The pool was always warm! Our toddler loves water so we thought she would love swim lessons. Unfortunately, we were wrong. We continuously had to leave swim lessons early and the staff was so accommodating and would give us make up classes so we didn’t lose class time. After a couple months of crying/leaving early we decided to cancel our membership. The staff didn’t pressure us to stay at all. They were very understanding and let us know we’re welcomed back later when we’re ready to try again.

With a heavy heart, Im gonna rate this place 1 star, 0 star if I could. I was trying to talk to front desk lady MS. NAN. She is very rude and condescending. We are in this branch since my son was 8 months old . She was always rude but this time was the last straw. I couldn't take it anymore. I might have to cancel my membership next month just because of her. ATTENTION GOLDFISH MANAGEMENT: Please train your front desk employee to be courteous.They are the face we see every time we come in and leave. Very disappointing experience!

My son has severe autism and Goldfish has been so good to him. His instructors are patient and kind and the front desk has been great working with us. My son had a meltdown today from another child crying and his instructor handled it beautifully. A worker came up to us right away and said they are working on finding a new time when it's more quiet. As an ASD family, we can't thank you enough for working with us.

We are so happy we signed our son up for swim lessons at Goldfish! All of the staff is so nice and always happy to answer questions. The facilities are great with lots of changing rooms, bathrooms, and plenty of seating for parents. I love how they integrate fun (singing, toys, etc.) into learning swim skills. Giving 3 stars because my daughters swim instructor was super encouraging and positive. That being said, this place was a huge waste of money. My daughter is 10, she's loves being in water but does not know anything abt swimming. Paid for the 1st class, she was 1 on 1 with instructor. 4 days/30 min sessions. So my daughter showed massive improvement, but was not ready to move up a level. Ok I saw the improvement all she needed was the same 4 day session, same cost for class. Let's go! I was onboard for the. Second week same cost, 3 kids to 1 instructor! Huh? What? Now my daughter is getting 10 min 4 days?? SAME COST!!! Daughter did not get any better. Did I say SAME COST!! This company is scamming parents. SEND YR CHILD SOMEWHERE ELSE, if you want them to actually learn to swim!!-
--UPDATE-- So goldfish responded to review. They never said the second week was going to be different than the first week at the same cost. They said the children learn from each other? How??? Is my 10 yr old daughter going to learn from 2- 3yr old boys who don't know anything abt swimming or even paying attention? Their response to me confirms, THIS SCHOOL IS A RIP OFF!! Not good at all. My 3 year old grandson was in the water with 2 others students and the instructor. She had him 5 feet away from the side of the pool and turned and left him. He was kicking like crazy and went under twice. When we noticed he was abandoned, we were about to run in there when the supervisor noticed and jumped in to his rescue. Should have never happened!!! It was his first lesson. Luckily he didn't get so scared that he didn't want to stay in the pool. This is totally unexceptable. This need to be addressed immediately and the 2 instructors should be let go. We will go back next week with a different instructor and see how it goes. We will not take our eyes off him!!!

We had my son's first birthday party here and it was unpleasant. There is poor communication between employees, management, and the customer. For example, when we scheduled the party we were told the pool would be open the entire time for the kids to swim. We were also told we were not allowed to bring food. However when we arrived the day of the party they had put a time limit on pool use, so some families did not get to make use of the pool at all. They also asked us if we had food we wanted to bring in. It would have been nice to be able to plan for food for our guests ahead of time. The staff began putting tables and chairs away while we were still there, so many of our guests had to stand while we opened gifts. It was very clear the employees wanted to rush us out of there. Very unpleasant and unprofessional and I am wondering why they would even offer a service to host parties at all since it seemed to be such an inconvenience having us there. The cupcakes were good, but there was a 25 person limit so there was not enough for everyone.

We started swimming lessons originally with a different company, we were with that company for a almost a year before switching to goldfish and I wish we would have MUCH sooner. In the short month we have been with Goldfish my son (2 yo) has already improved so much! The staff is all incredible, and so knowledgeable. Loved this place. We terminated our lessons rather abruptly. My young child had just been the reason the pool had to close. Management loudly made sure everyone knew it was my child and I was the child's parent. We were embarrassed in front of our peers, which wasn't their policy from my understanding. Until that moment, we had been having 5 star experiences. That was our first and only experience with that manager. I wish I could remember her name. It's been years and my child still brings it up. We absolutely love Goldfish Swim School Macomb. It’s such a great facility with wonderful instructors and lesson plans. My five-year-old daughter, Ava, has been going here for about a year and a half. She moved up from the junior one class all the way to the pro one class! She loves it. My little two-year-old girl, Mia, began lessons a couple months ago and loves it too. She is in the mini three class. It’s amazing to see my girls learn so much and have fun doing it. She loves learning new things and she is so happy and proud of herself when she levels up!!!❤ The ribbons are so cute and the kids love collecting them! The place is clean, the front staff is awesome always wanting to help and explain any Q. All the coaches are great. Coming to swim class is the highlight of my family’s week! We love how encouraging the coaches are, always giving high fives and sometimes even ribbons when they do really well. The coaches always say hi to my kids and cheer them on, even after they have moved to another class, which makes my kids feel really special.
