Cannot say enough good things! Worth every penny. The staff is exceptional- so well trained, helpful, kind, and consistent!! Customer service is top notch. They have such good flexibility when you miss a class, and they’re so willing to work with you if kids are struggling. I started with my 7 year old last May in Glider 1, and in 7 short months she is already in Pro 2- the top class. Now my littles (ages 3 and 4) are taking lessons as well! I’ve noticed such a difference in their water confidence, even in the bathtub. Again I cannot say enough good things- yes you could go somewhere else and maybe pay a bit less, but it will take you twice the time to achieve what they can achieve here. So happy, best thing we’ve done for our kids activity-wise, hands down. Oh and a special shout out to Sophia for being just so sweet and helpful always. Happy customers here!

Great and friendly staff. Extremely clean. Flexible schedules to accommodate families to include make up days. Love the events and open swim nights. Our daughter has gone from not knowing how to swim to a fish in the water here (graduating up from guppie 1 all the way to swim force). We've used goldfish many times with our children. It has a number of ver positive aspects: warm pool, small classes, clear progress.

My current daughter, who is in the class, is a bit scared and nervous. But the teacher was very patient and helpful, and my daughter has relaxed, is no longer scared, and has been happy to go.

It is a great place to take your younger kids to learn to swim.

For older kids (tweens and teens), it is not as useful, not deep water, or open areas.

My son did lessons for a few months but eventually no longer wanted to go. I can’t say that he learned 1 thing in his classes. When I decided to cancel the lessons the woman at the front desk came up to me during my sons lesson and said that her grandkid struggled learning with the instructor my son had too….. after that comment I felt kinda robbed out of my sons swimming experience. If I mention swim class he gets upset and refuses to swim. 0/5 stars.

We've been attending Goldfish for well over a year and absolutely love their teaching style and techniques. This week is our first Jumpstart clinic and we have had the honor of meeting Miss Macey! She is just beeming with positive energy and good vibes. As I watched my son during his Glider 3 class she was constantly giving him high fives and huge smiles. Started taking my son here after several attempts at using other swimming lessons places. He never looked forward to go to those other places. Would freak out during the first 5 minutes of the classes, and actively asked us to not having swimming lessons.

But not here. He's very excited to go week after week. He is smiling and having fun while learning, and really enjoys his lessons.

The facility itself is very clean, well organized and laid out, and just very inviting to the kids. The people working there all seem very kind and to genuinely enjoy their work, and the have three lifeguards besides all the instructors in the water. I feel like my kid is perfectly safe with them.

I can't recommend this place highly enough. It's just heads and tails (heh fish joke) above other places that I've been too.

I am very disappointed on the way they handle make up classes. They are not flexible in making any accommodation to their clients, I’m a busy mother of two we were all sick at home back to back I could not send my daughter to swimming since she was sick. Now they did not make any make up for the classes she missed because I didn’t call them. I explained the situation and they said NO! we paid a lot of money per class for only 25 minutes practice and for them not to allowed a make up class it shows that they don’t care about their clients but the money . I am highly disappointed and we aren’t sending our kids back at all. The person in the phone in a condescending tone told me that I signed the contract. Do not want to deal on business that won’t care about their clients.

I can't say enough about the wonderful staff at Goldfish Swim School in Rochester! My 4 y/o grandson has been dealing with a serious fear of swimming/open water for some time now and my daughter and I were really struggling to find a way to help him get past the fear. Well after explaining the dilemma to the staff they suggested and we tried a few different approaches until we finally had a breakthrough with his new instructor Ella. She is a miracle worker! Ella's teaching style, her demeanor and her overall approach to learning really connects her with the kids. The change in my grandson was almost overnight. The tears stopped and he really started to relax from the first class with her. I asked him what made Ella different and he said "She's really fun and plays games with us." Above all Ella has patience and is very kind even when the fear started to creep in she made my grandson feel safe. It was really hard to watch him struggle and because of the hard work of the Goldfish staff and Miss Ella he is conquering a fear and replacing it with fun memories and laughter. The best! Our experience at the Rochester Goldfish has been outstanding. The instructional staff were wonderful, the manager went above and beyond to be accommodating every time we requested something, the owner of this business clearly has it together. We are very unhappy with this school, they cancel classes often, during the month of Sept 2021 they cancelled 4 classes due to no teachers. They have a very young teaching staff that exudes inexperience with children. Last week a instructor had no idea what to do when my 5yr old was crying in class. She put her hands up and shook her head as she had 0 calming skills. As far as swimming skills, my kids have made no progress here. The inconsistentcy in instructors, lack of skills, my kids are not moving forward. I do not recommend this school, they charge approx 20 per class, but the level of instruction is subpar. Not acceptable. This location has gone downhill fast post pandemic. Im pulling both kids.

I would NOT recommend this location. The place has gone downhill post pandemic. Makeup classes are nearly impossible to book due to them no longer offering classes 7 days per week. We received one week’s notice that they would no longer be offering Wednesday classes. We were placed in a Saturday class (which was fine)but upon arrival yesterday, the class was overbooked. In expressing my frustration to management, I was basically told ‘at least I wasn’t sent home’ and that my concern was a ”mute point” since my daughter was shifted to a different lane. The manager was smug, sarcastic and condescending, informing me that her kids were also moved from a Wednesday class. Not once did she offer an apology for the inconvenience. This manager needs to take any and all service excellence classes that the company can offer. I understand that the staffing shortage is affecting every industry. However, being spoken to and dealt with in such a manner is a different issue and unacceptable. I am currently exploring other options.

Very disappointing to learn that goldfish does not honor their “makeup” tokens when a child is un-enrolled in a class. I unfortunately had to cancel our sons classes and was more than willing to pay for the additional classes we would incur during the 30 day “cancelation notice” as I was told I would have one year to use up those “tokens”. A month later, I go to schedule a drop in class using one of our tokens, only to find out they expire the DAY your child is unenrolled. Goldfish did not honor the use of the three tokens despite the front desk staff telling me I had a year. I was offered one drop in class on a date that we were unavailable and the other two would be a wash.
Save your time, go somewhere else.

Everyone seems to take their job responsibilities seriously. I have also not seen anyone with attitude problems--everyone seems very excited and genuinely happy to be there helping the kids learn. This is a very rare thing to see in today's world. Management is always carefully observing everything, and I really appreciate that! I hope the original instructor we were assigned to is back soon though, it sounds like she has been sick for a bit. They do a good job of keeping notes, though, so it seems to work out when a sub is in place.

We LOVE Goldfish! Our son has been taking lessons through Goldfish since he was 1.5 years old. Now, at 4.5 years old, he can effortlessly swim more than half the width of the pool independently, float, dive for rings, climb in and out by himself with confidence and ease, and truly LOVES the water, which is a huge blessing in and of itself! While we did weigh other swim options, we are so glad we went with Goldfish. He has only ever had wonderful, caring instructors. We love the family-friendly, encouraging, and colorful environment. Our whole family enjoys family swim nights, and knowing the pool will always be warm - and facility will have all we need!
