I have to say that we had a very poor experience with Ms. Sandy and Suzy. We loved Courtney and Ms. Sue, who my daughter had in previous years. Unfortunately, the nepotism in Ms. Sandy’s class was very apparent.

gotta dance has started a tradition for us. i bring my sister and she dances her absolute heart out. she has found a passion here. starting her love for dance all together. the coaches are amazingly nice. all of the staff is. you really create the best bonds here. i for sure 100% recommend starting your child here no matter their age. very welcoming and warm place. it gives you a very home like feel all together. very supportive and encouraging of everything as well as the teachers motivating the kids.

Gotta Dance is amazing!!! They created a dance class for kids of all ages with special needs!!! It’s been probably 15 years now. My 14 year daughter is in her 10th year!! Thank you so much to Laurie Como for starting this & to her daughter Nina Como & her niece Courtney Motherwell for teaching our kiddos!!! They are all amazing people with hearts of gold!!! We love Gotta Dance! We are a first year family and are so happy with our experience at the Sterling Heights location. Everyone has been so kind and welcoming and helps every step of the way. The coaches and owners are so kind and have so much patience with the students. The communication is clear and prompt. I love love LOVE gotta dance! I have been dancing there for almost 10 years and I have nothing but good things to say about it. I have danced at both the Troy and Sterling Heights studio and i’ve loved every second of it, not only the teachers but the students are so welcoming and encouraging. I’ve created so many bonds and relationships through dance and i’m so grateful for it. I have danced both recreational and competitive classes and loved both. If you want to get into classes or get your kids into classes I would recommend Gotta Dance. The teachers, owners, people, families are all so incredibly sweet and understanding and the teachers are very patient with you. Also they hold so many fun events like a trunk or treat for halloween, summer classes. a lock in, and more! I love Gotta Dance!!

I think that Gotta Dance is a wonderful studio to dance at, the teachers are very nice, and will push you to make you a better dancer. I have been dancing there since I was 3 and I have only gotten better each year since. I am on the competitive team. Yes it’s tough, but I have made lots of friends that I hope will last a lifetime. But even if you’re not friends with everybody, you are still a family, and you still have to stick together, and work together. There are many opportunities to grow and learn, and become not only a better dancer, but a better human in general. I love Gotta Dance like a second home. I love to dance.

This is my daughter’s tenth year with Gotta Dance and we both could not imagine her dancing anywhere else! What started as a place to satisfy my love of dance and the ability to share that with my daughter through recreational dance classes, turned into something special. My 5 year old went from one ballet class, to ballet and tap classes to being asked to try out for intermediate dance team and now she is concluding her 2nd year on the senior competition team and she just turned 15. What began as a business transaction is now our family we both have developed long lasting friendships/sisterhoods that are nurtured inside and outside of the studio. Would I recommend Gotta Dance Studio ABSOLUTELY just be prepared for it to turn into more than just a pair of ballet shoes and cute pink tutus 🩷

There are a few great teachers. We've been here 10 years. However, if your child is not a favorite or you, as a parent, is not a "kiss up", your children are overlooked. Long drive weekly to be disappointed many times.

Although the teachers and staff are all nice people, I see that there are favorites. My daughter likes it because her friends attend with her but I wish there would be more instruction. While watching each class, I see a lot where the teacher just stands and talks with the dancers. For a thirty minute class most time is wasted. More attention is paid to the competition dancers. 2 years now and I've only seen 1 teacher actually correct and try to teach my daughter and that was a stand-in teacher. She'd probably be more confident in her dance if she was actually given the time. Yes we will be back but hoping things will get better. Price is right and costume choices are affordable. Just wish they paid more attention to each dancer.
