Ms Mikaela is great. She is really great at encouraging and motivating my 3 year old to do things on her own while also supporting and reassuring her so she feels comfortable trying new things. Every week she gets more independent and stronger at different skills. The highlight of my daughter’s week is going to her gymnastics class:)

I second what Scott said. Don’t have so many classes at the same time if you don’t/can’t have enough parking. It is unacceptable and dangerous for me to have to park on actual Hines Dr. Also, show me in your policies where it is REQUIRED for parents to stay IN the overfull, hot, smelly lobby while their child is in class. I see students get dropped off all the time. I was reprimanded last night because I went OUTSIDE with my two year old so I “wasn’t there” to take my son who has class to the bathroom. He’ll be five years old on the 9th. Sorry that you actually had to do something and “help him”, but he can use the restroom himself. Yelling at me was not necessary and expecting me to stay in your lobby when you don’t provide enough seating and is hot is ridiculous. You just lost two students. Once the month or whatever I paid for is over, we’re done. I’m taking my money and spending my time elsewhere. We have been consistently enrolled in classes here since 2021, and I have never had a pleasant experience with your employees, especially the front desk women and who answer the phone. Have a good day.

Over the past 14 years, all 4 of my kids have had the pleasure of doing gymnastics at some level at Gym America. Whether you are looking for pre-school classes, boys or girls rec classes or pre-team/team gymnastics, you will not find a better program. One of my kiddos is a handful (to put it lightly) and he is welcomed with open arms and smiles at Gym America. The coaches truly care about your child as a person and the team program intentionally focuses on building the entire athlete (“Gymnastics Now. Character for Life.) From the office personnel to the institutional teachers to the team coaches, the staff always goes above and beyond. You won’t find a better program for your gymnast!

Wonder if they’ll invest in making the parking lot larger when a kid inevitably gets hit. Also could use a much larger seating area. Every class appears to be sold out based on how many people are here no matter what time you come….would be nice to see some of the tuition reinvested in the business and infrastructure…

Clean facility, knowledgeable coaches who are great with kids, and friendly service. Gym America stands out against the other area gyms. They truly care about all kids in their care.

EDIT: Where exactly is your policy listed? No where on the signup do you ask about this. Agree on the improper communication.
Enrolled my child for Minds in Balance. They had no mention for a kid who are not fully potty trained. I was even available to assist on site for the entire three hours, they called me one day to say I have to be onsite for a kid in diapers, I mentioned I already was. They called me a few days later to say that they can't enroll a kid who is in diapers, they had no mention of this policy. It just feels like the instructor/facility wasn't capable enough and they made something up, point to be noted that there's no mention of potty training or anything related to diapers in their policies.

We love Gym America! Our daughter started in their parent and tot classes and is now in her second year on their competitive team. She used to be so shy and has gained so much confidence from gymnastics! Our son joins for special events and summer camps too. It is a family owned gym with a wonderful culture that ensures everyone fits in. The staff are like family to us and the gym really is our home away from home. We love that they emphasize fun and character building and not just winning. If you're looking for a gymnastics facility in the Ann Arbor area, this is the best place you will find!

There is so much emphasis put on the whole person, not just the athlete. The boys have struggled together and been successful together. It’s so much more than just another Gym. Coach K and GA are part of our family.

Our son started in the toddler program around 3yo. It was a great place for his energy and wall climbing. He’s now 15yo and competing level 8 on the Boy’s Team with Coach Kurtis and we all love Gym America! There is so much emphasis put on the whole person, not just the athlete. The boys have struggled together and been successful together. It’s so much more than just another Gym. Coach K and GA are part of our family.

Gym America is a true gem for our community. We have been part of the Gym America community since before the competitive boys team was established. We are especially grateful for Coach Kurtis and his commitment, care, and support of our boys, not only as gymnasts, but as individuals. This was especially evident during the height of the pandemic. Even though we were not able to meet in person, he found creative ways for the boys to connect via Zoom and practice together remotely. Later, practices were done outside. And when indoor practices resumed, attention to safety continued while maintaining communication and connection. Underneath all of this was for our boys to stay connected socially and to have a sense of belonging. Gym America staff develops amazing gymnasts, but most importantly, they focus on the whole person, not just the athlete. This really matters and I am so grateful to the entire staff, Claudia and Ed, and Coach Kurtis for helping our son develop into the wonderful young man he is today. Thank you, Gym America, we are so happy to have found you all those many years ago.

My son has been at Gym America since he was 8 years old, and he is now 17! It is his home away from home. He has gained tremendous gymnastics skills (vault...rings...etc...), and most importantly, Gym America has helped him grow in so many ways as a person. The men's coach (Kurtis Rosen) is incredible. If you are interested in having your son learn gymnastics in a supportive environment--this is the place to be!

Awesome place for gymnastics! Our youngest (5yr) started this year and loves it. Instructors are fun and patient. Kids of all ages practicing. Facilities look well kept and maintained. They even offer open gym on Saturdays, but I think you have to register or call ahead for that.

Registered my child for a class, I guess it was not confirmed. We showed up on Saturday for the class and the front desk lady was EXTREMELY rude. I say “hi My child X is here for a class.” She’s like “no you’re not—our classes have been full for months”. I asked if we could register or be placed on a waitlist and she’s like “umm no you’ll hear from us if that’s a possibility”. Now my toddler is crying. My fault for not confirming we were registered, but goodness she could be kind about it. They very well May have a good gym, but I’ll never know.

My preschooler has been taking classes at Gym America for 6 months and she loves it. Coach Jamie is amazing with the littlest kids; she's funny and silly all the while teaching gym skills and helping them learn to take turns and listen. The staff, coaches and students all wear masks and stay distanced from each other. The check-in process is streamline and the facility is spotless. As soon as instructional classes resume I will enroll my first grader here too. Thank you!

Love Gym America! This is our 9th year as a part of the GA family and we have been consistently happy with our experience, both from the gymnast and parent-of-gymnast perspectives. Everyone we work with at the gym, from the coaches to the gym owners to the staff members, are so professional, caring, and dedicated to the well-being and success of our daughter as a gymnast and as a person.

Gym America has amazing coaches that have helped my daughter not only grow as a gymnast, but also helped her gain confidence. They have also taken the health and safety of the students seriously and are actively updating protocols to meet current situations.

We love Gym America! My daughter has been a part of the GA family for 9 years. I think the thing that the GA team does best is handle adversity. They impressed me with the way they used the Larry Nassar case to empower the kids to use their voice, and now they have been ROCK STARS in handling the pandemic. I literally trust them with my kid's life. I'm so grateful for the influence the coaches have been my daughter's life. I highly recommend them to everyone I know.

The gym is fine for a place to take kids.
The owner tried to involve herself in my child custody case.
Something she wasn't involved but took it upon herself to get mixed up in. Go elsewhere. I'll pay your first month

I love this place a million times over. The staff is so friendly and kind and have helped my daughter build character, friendships and just have fun when going through tough times. They teach kids at so many different levels of experience but treat all gymnasts with respect, compassion and support. We’ve been attending for a few years and have no intention of stopping any time soon!

We have been coming to Gym America for the past 8 years. As a mom of 2 boys, my goal for them has never been anything more than get stronger, more coordinated and have fun. Gym America is a place they have done that and so much more. The motto of “Gymnastics today. Character for life” has played out in so many ways for both boys. We have been supported through our journey with gymnastics AND life (good and bad times) by administration and coaches at every level. Our family is very thankful to call Gym America home.

We've been coming to Gym America for 10 years now. So thankful for this fabulous place where my daughters can build their confidence, character, and skills doing what they love. Gym America is full of caring coaches who work well together in a positive environment and beautiful new facility. This place has helped shaped my daughters, and we will be forever thankful.

My daughter went here for about 9 months. We wanted to love it, but it just was not the right fit. As a 6 year old beginner, she never really learned a thing. I noticed the instructors would work with kids that already had gym skills, and the beginners never got the attention they needed to progress. We did a few clinics, that I observed my daughter never receiving any instruction (not exaggerating, 0 instruction) and was asked to do inversions without any instruction and fell on her head. Another student of the same age actually is the one who helped her. We also found it hard to keep her registered. They have a strict registration policy, and if you miss the window you will most likely not get the class you were in again, or not be able to register at all. This happened to us, which is why we had to change gyms. Our new gym may not be as spacious and it's a little smelly, but just a month in, she is learning way more than she ever did at gym America, at a 1/4 of the price. The registration process at our new gym is very easy and friendly. Gym America would probably be a great fit for the experienced student who is training to because a serious gymnast...but everyone else, I'd say skip the money and the hassle and go to a more humble gym.
